Staff worked well with us as our dog's health deteriorated to the point where she had to be put to sleep. Dr. Simmons, DVM was excellent. She showed compassion, explained things so we could understand, and worked beyond her typical working hours.

They keep saying my dog is going to die. But it's just a liver problem and a low blood cell count they say they won't do cpr and if she dies and honestly a 10000 bill is not a low price to save a family member do not be fooled they were good at first then they stopped putting effort

Great vet. They are on the expensive side, but very thorough and worth the cost. I brought Archer in for a check-up and immunizations boosters. They didn't keep us waiting long, gave us a sweet little package of treats, decorative santa tag for his collar, and an adorable bandana. They taught me that grain free food is linked to heart disease (who knew?), and didn't make me feel like they were in a rush to get us out. They were quick and efficient with his shots as well.

I had been taking my dogs here for years with no complaints. When my 12 year old mini aussie was vomiting and wouldn't eat I knew it was time to go in. They did blood work and seen his numbers were elevated. So then they did an Ultrasound that showed his gallbladder was about to burst and he needed emergency surgery asap. It was evening time on Halloween when we found this out and they said the only surgeon available was 2 hours away. I was happy to do whatever was in the best interest for my sweet boy. But I had questions about how well he would be able to recover from this being a senior dog and quality of life for my sweet boy after surgery. They couldn't answer the questions I had and the surgeon they picked wouldn't talk to me unless I brought my dog over. I waited overnight hoping to get better answers the next day from the original doctor that was there when I took him in. Dr. Mitchell was very rude and didn't have ANY sympathy for what we were going through. She said she wouldn't call to try to find a surgeon at a closer location and that I needed to do that on my own. So I called medvet in Salt Lake City and luckily they were able to get him in that day for surgery. They were very surprised that Dr. Mitchell wasn't calling to get him transferred herself because that's the usual protocol when patients are transferred. I took my sweet boy over immediately and he had his gallbladder removed. I can't believe the way we were treated by Dr. Mitchell at such a scary time with our pets life on the line. We will never go back to willow creek again.

Such a great training program! I’ve taken my puppy to the Puppy Pre-School program and the trainers there have been so helpful with training and socializing her! Harleigh, Austin , and Lori are all great and will provide a report card at the end of the session. Kris was also great for an intermediate training session. Highly recommend!

I’ve been taking my dogs here for a little over 10 years. They CARE. They care about you and your pet. I travel often for work and they have always, always taken such good care of my pups. And when I lost my dog, the care and love they shared with my dog made losing him so much easier. He loved the staff and so do I.

Jett used to get very anxious going to the vet. She feels safer with the staff at Willow Creek.

September 29, 2024

I would never recommend Dr Lindsay Simmons. She is scared of dogs and was not knowledgeable with what my dog needed. She was very unrealistic and just did not seem very up to date with her profession. Will not be coming back if I have to deal with her again.

This place has a charge for everything. They price gouge in my opinion. The only reason I use this place is that it is so close to my house. I give them 3 stars at best on their service but when it comes to over charging, I give them 1 star. There is no personal experience or good customer service when going here. The ladies at the front desk are basically like robots that seem to have little or no compasion. Willow Creek is high price and low standards.

Pup was in desperate need of help, experiencing shortness of breath, no strength to stand, and body tremors. After calling several pet hospitals, VCA was able to get us in. They were very attentive to the information I gave them about his condition because when we got there, their emergency team had already prepared for our arrival. Began treatment immediately. This group is an amazing team and earned every ounce of trust. Pup is recovering from pneumonia thanks to this group.

I have been a loyal customer for 20 years now. The place has gone down hill. Staff doesnt care, probably because they are not paid well enough to. Doctors are booked out. It is also very pricey for the lack of service you get. Wait times are long. I was hoping that when Doctor Barney made medical director that things would be great but since the pandemic this place is only concerned about making money and not caring for your pet.

The veterinarians are top notch! Cant say enough about them and I love that you can book online and get reminders in the app. Even though you cant book grooming in the app, grooming experiences during COVID were amazing. They had you check in out back and you actually got to talk to your groomer. We had such a good experience every time. Then they switched up their process and started doing intake out front. Even if you request to speak to the groomer they say no. After 2 botched haircuts they told me to bring a photo of what we were looking for and that the groomer would call me. I brought the photo. No one called me. Another awful, choppy, sloppy haircut that is nothing like what I asked for. Please bring back the old system. Its what made you great!

I have brought my dog here since I got her as a puppy. For the longest time I didnt trust anyone with my dog. However, the past few years I have left the vet everytime in tears. My dog is leash reactive. Once I had a tech that was visibly scared of my dog. On multiple occasions they have mislabeled her as agressive. When she needed stitches they missed one. When I brought her back they ripped it from her skin without any numbing or pain meds. This last time I asked the vet about anxiety meds. The vet proceeded to explain to me how this was a training issue and gave me suggestions that were things I have already done. And do with my dog. She just runs anxious. I feel as though they talk to me like I dont know anything about my dog and belittle me. She hates the vet and gets major anxiety. Once I asked her if she was so brave after getting vaccines and the tech scoffed and said no she wasnt. That they werent able to get blood or a fecal. I tried to advocate for my dog telling them she would do best if I was with her and they didnt even consider it. I dont know what has happened in the past 4 years but this clinic has really gone downhill and I dont trust them with my dog any longer.

Willow Creek has done a great job at getting my dogs treated quickly and effectively. I ve visited this clinic sporadically over the last several years, and over the last year it seems like they ve really become extra caring and helpful with my dogs. The techs and the vets have been great. My most recent visit (April 2023) was with Dr. Kim. She was such a sweet, thorough doctor and took the time to explain the medication to me. I just rescued a new dog and was able to get her in the next day after getting her. Dr. Kim saved my dog s eye. She had a corneal ulcer that was melting her cornea, and with an aggressive treatment, her eye is healed and she is a happy, healthy girl again. I d 100% recommend Dr. Kim. Update Feb 2024 - Dr Kim is still amazing. Very patient with my difficult Cane Corso rescue out of all my dogs, she s been the most difficult one at the vet. Today she pooped and sat in it, then tried biting the doctor and assistant while they examined the wound I brought her in for, but they still were understanding and kind. My dog was rescued as a street dog last year, and she had major trust issues around strangers. I appreciate Dr. Kim listening and giving such encouraging feedback.

It probably depends on which vet your dog sees. Because its owned by VCA, it has a very corporate feel to me. The vet we saw was very impersonal and dud not seem like a dog person. We bring our aging dog (16.5yr old) to one of their sister hospitals out west (we followed the doctor our there). We have decided its time to euthanize our little guy, as its getting difficult for him to get around on his own. He gets anxious in car rides, so I thought I would call the local hospital to see about having it done 5 minutes away instead of 30. They informed me our dog would need to have an exam beforehand. I told them he just had an exam 3 months ago, and could they have the records sent? The answer was no. About a month ago, I called to have him boarded for one night, and they told me he needed a fecal exam and a K-9 influenza vaccine before they could help. So we told him to the sister hospital that didnt require these things. Years ago, they charged us $25 to express our dogs glands before boarding him. We never used them again because when we asked our regular vet about it, she told us this was an unnecessary exam for our dog that only certain breeds required. Bottomline: 1. Beware when you come here. Ask about all charges in advance. 2. I was mistaken thinking the VCA hospitals who are owned by the same company would work together giving us a benefit to choosing one of their clinics.

Great vet been bringing my pets for years

January 29, 2024

Over the years, Willow Creek has been great. But because of our appointment with Dr. Kim yesterday (9/25/23) we do not plan to return to Willow Creek in the future. This appointment will weigh on my family for some time. If you have a big dog, please don t see Dr. Kim. She was very concerned during our appointment concerned about what time it was, because they were closing soon. That s about all she cared about. That, and making sure she could squeeze us for as much money as possible. She wouldn t accept our X-rays and said we had to pay $400+ for new ones + $100 to sedate him for the xrays. She showed no concern for my dogs quality of life. She did not settle our concerns. She charged us $90 and didn t touch or even go near our precious Groot (Rottweiler). She made us feel horrible about even thinking about euthanasia. Groot has bone cancer in his leg and it s spreading to his lungs. I could go on and on about our visit but to keep it short I ll just say, beware. She specializes in smaller animals like lizards, please please please don t take your dogs to her.

I also got asked if I wanted the Care Club membership by 4 different employees, but no one could give me any kind of handout with pricing or show me a breakdown of the money I would be saving. No one would tell me how much her vaccinations were if I didn t join this subscription. When I received my bill, I told them I did not know my cat was getting a leukemia test and that I was upset, and the woman told me that the tech assumed I would sign up for the care club and that it would have been covered in my fee. To sum up, they did testing I did not approve of and didn t know was happening, and tried pressuring me into a subscription I had no information on. Tot heir credit, they did not make me pay for the leukemia test, but it should not have been performed in the first place.

I ve been going to this vet for about 10 years now and they have been great for basic vaccines. I would not recommend if your dog is truly sick to come here. I knew something was wrong with my dog and spent $800 for all the tests they recommended. They never gave me a true answer and told me to feed him more protein. Fast forward a month I decided to get a second opinion and had the previous X-rays sent to the new vet. They saw tumors in the X-ray which led to surgery the next day to save his life. Unfortunately he had stage 4 cancer in 4 organs and passed on the table. I wish willow creek pet center would have taken my dogs case more serious.

My cat developed a nasty eye infection over the past week so I took her in for an emergency visit today when her symptoms progressed. I was in and out within an hour which is great seeing as I was a walk-in. The entire staff from the front office to the techs to the doctor were all wonderful and great to work with, they all showed great care and concern for my cat. I felt like she was definitely in the right hands.

Still in shock while writing this......I recently teamed up with a friend to save a husky from a kill shelter who was going to be euthanized a week ago. The original owner gave me a voucher from the shelter to have the rescue neutered. The voucher is only good at participating vets, this was one of them. The vouchers value was 65 dollars. I called and made the appointment and explained what was going on, that I was fostering this dog and trying to find its forever home. The receptionist was pretty awesome! Very friendly. When I arrived the estimate for the neuter was 600-800 dollars. Still in shock about this. I said no to blood work considering his age and the blood work was included in that estimate. When I went to pick him up the final price was 674 dollars! And on top of it, they didnt even apply the voucher that I gave them. Its places like this that only see dollar signs, take advantage of people and at the end of the day are just a giant scam. I get inflation and my primary vet has gone up dramatically but nothing near this price for a neuter and the whole experience is beyond depressing. Its places like this that discourage people from fostering animals and not to mention the reasons why people surrender their animals because of the HUGE financial burden that is placed on them. When you see an animal in a cage on TV just know that it could possibly be because of places like this. Ive never posted a review in my life until now. The only reason I am is because I feel a moral obligation to let people know so they dont go and make the same stupid mistake that I have just endured.

I don t usually write reviews but these guys deserve one, 100%!! Unfortunately I had to euthanize my hamster, Buddy, here and was having a hard time with it. Everyone was so thoughtful, kind, professional and helpful. The vet was clear, straightforward and gave me the answers I needed. The vet tech was so compassionate and really showed care for my emotional state. I asked her if there was a way to get any snacks/food so Buddy could have a nice meal before passing. She was very eager to help with that process and gave me as much time as I needed. Scheduling was really convenient as finding an exotic vet can be hard. They scheduled me in as soon as they could and that helped my situation a ton! Overall amazing place and I highly recommend!

Mostly always good results and interactions with Willow Creek Pet Center, but this evening, a let down. They decided to cancel the Wednesday 7:15pm Pet Conditioning and make up class but didnt even go as far as putting a class canceled sign on the back entrance door. 3 different people with pets waiting out back for someone to open the door... Very irresponsible for a business.

January 29, 2023

Horrible experience. Our dog cut his foot very bad and had multiple stitches. We had to bring him in a couple times due to his bandage getting wet manly because the bags they provided for us to use while he went to the restroom ripped almost every time and it is still snowing. After spending 1000$ and as many visit we had to do I assume they got sick of us, they took his stitches out when it wasn t even close to healed given the fact that 2 days prior to this they said they needed to stay in for 10 more days. And now our poor baby is still split open bad and they didn t even send him back home wrapped up after taken them out given the fact that he was still bleeding. Absolutely do not recommend.

I took my moms cat in to this vet for her one day and after my visit, I instantly changed my pet care to this center as well. The vets here REALLY care and will take the time to break down the ins and outs of any care your pets needs and why they need it. I ve never felt more educated on my pets health than when I ve gone here. Dr. Ferreira is who I ve worked with and she is the very best I ve ever been to. It s also not much more expensive than anywhere else I have been either. I will only bring my pets here going forward

January 29, 2023

WARNING!! Do not take your dogs here. I took my 2 dogs in last week for dental work and a both came out with some kind of cough that they didnt have before going in. Theyre actual words were they might have gotten kennel cough from here because it is going around dont you clean and sterilize the stuff before operating on each dog??! Now a week later on medication for it and they still have the caugh. The thing that kills me is that I contemplated not taking them in because this vet paralyzed one of my Bassett Hounds years ago. Of course they never fessed up to it but all of a sudden after getting his nails trimmed he couldnt walk with his back legs. Very shady place and bad things happen.

We ve taken our dog here for 5 years now. The amount of care and empathy that they give seems to be consistently declining. We had to take our dog to an emergency vet clinic for a cough that led to him being partially paralyzed. He made a wonderful recovery thankfully, but the emergency vet recommended that we take him to his primary vet since they couldn t find the cause of why this happened. The emergency vet was wonderful, gave us his medications, and sent his records over to willow creek. We scheduled an appointment almost two weeks out with willow creek to get him looked at. After getting there, one of the techs asked questions about his condition and when we asked if they got his charts and looked them over she responded with we have them, but no I haven t looked at them . The doctor then followed up with the same questions that the tech asked us and had a demeanor like she just wanted us out of there. They gave us no insight on what could have caused this, no help on what we should do for our dogs extended care/meds, and didn t answer any of the questions that we had. They charged us $75 to look at our dog for 10 minutes and give us no information. After talking to other people who have taken their pets here, there seems to be a general consensus that they would much rather have your money than see your pet healthy. We will be taking him somewhere else from now on.

We have been going to Willow creek for 8 years; I have really appreciated them and their care of all of our animals over that time. Most recently, however, their appointment availability and policies have become difficult and not customer friendly AT ALL! In the business I am in for work, customer satisfaction is critical and we spend lots of time and money to make improvements. The doctors here are excellent, but you can t get an appointment for 60 days, and I tried to make a grooming appointment 30 days ahead, but because they can t fit my dog in for vaccines (because they re so booked), they won t make a grooming appointment. When I called 3 months ago to make an appt (knowing theyre jammed and there s a super long wait for appts) for July, they told me it was too early to book. I think I might be done with them; VCA has ruined a customer friendly place, their policies don t support their customers .I get that it s a tight labor market, but then make accommodations . You make it too hard for your patients!!!!

She immediately put the injection the my dog that he panicked and didn t tell us what she was giving him or walking us through the steps, and she never mentioned a sedation and if she did she didn t give it the appropriate amount of time to work as my dog was panicking and was not calm. This is completely unacceptable to work in an environment and not have compassion to give the pets a peaceful leaving. Steffanie Wagner was in the room for a total of 5 minutes and quickly injected my dog, listened to his heart for 2 second and said he was dead and walked out quickly all within a matter of 5 minutes.

January 29, 2023

I always leave this facility feeling like an inconvenience. The front counter staff are dismissive, act put out to assist customers and patients and ignore every person who walks through the front door. The front counter staff does not answer the phones eager to help, in fact its common practice to greet a caller by asking, Is this a medical emergency or can I put you on hold? Every time I call this office I am immediately placed on hold. That is not the worst of the service, its the lack of eagerness to help and a lack of interest by the staff. I observed a number of people come in happy and sit down clearly frustrated or disgruntled as they waited for their appointment or the staff to slowly and begrudgingly checked them out. I have felt like an inconvenience since the first time I started brining my pets to Willow Creek in 2020. I will be taking my business and pets care back to Cottonwood Animal Hospital. They are always booked, but at least I get better service by a staff that is eager to help.

January 29, 2023

Like many of these other customers my family and myself have been bringing out pets to Willow Creek for over 2 decades. Since they became part of VCA the care has rapidly declined as well as the treatment of the pets. Last month I took my kitty in with a broken leg, the vet told me cats don t do well splinted so I don t think we should splint it. The surgical center I took him to had numerous staff members baffled by this lack of splinting. When the surgical center called for records they told them that he d never been seen at Willow creek. They then took 4 phone calls to get the results sent over. He s been splinted for >1 month and doing great. Sept 3 my dog was neutered and I had them run a fecal test due to day care requirements. I called today (9days later) because I hadn t received results. Turns out he has giardia and they couldn t be bothered to get back to me. He s been around numerous dogs in the meantime. Yesterday was the first day he actually had symptoms. I am beyond livid with this lack of care that I ll not be returning with my pets. If anyone knows of a veterinarian who takes great care of their pets and isn t managed by VCA & it s awful policies I d love to know who they are.

Look as far as pet hospitals go, most the doctors and staff are very professional and knowledgeable. I never have taken my pets here and been concerned about the care they will receive or attention. However they have a few plans they offer one of which is a preventative care package for dogs. I have called numerous times over the course of 10+ months to cancel this plan. And every time I call they say that the plan is showing as cancelled and that a manager will look into it and call me back. And every time no one ever calls me back and the next month I am charged again. At this point they have stolen 300$+ from me by failing over and over to cancel the plan that they keep saying is cancelled. At this point im just going to talk to the bank and see what my options are for forcing them to pay me back even if I have to take it to small claims court. The complete lack of effort put in by the staff to ensure my account is being taken care of has forced me to leave a poor review at a facility I otherwise would probably recommend for serious care. Edit: updating review now that the issue was taken care of, as stated at the start staff are great with your pets and up until now I had never had an issue so altering star rating to reflect that.

Not only was the grooming uneven, BOTH of my boys had multiple deep cuts in their skin after seeing her. And come to find out she was more busy making videos for her tiktok instead of focusing on my living animals! I m disgusted and feel betrayed. I wish they would pick better staff but since they don t care about letting this happen, I will no longer support this establishment. January 29, 2022

Im really disappointed in the quality of their grooming service. I brought both my pets (a cat and a dog) to them two weeks ago to get groomed. When we got them home, we noticed my cat wasnt behaving like he normally does. he wouldnt jump up to his normal spots around the house, even with the promise of treats or food. After some investigation we found that almost every single nail had been cut way too short, and all 4 paw pads were bright red and really inflamed. When I scheduled the appointment I had let them know he can be tempermental and may need to be sedated. When they called to tell me he was ready they said he was actually great, no sedation was needed! He was so terrified, he didnt even move! which I dont think is really a great thing to say to the owner. I called the next day to let them know what was going on and see if I could get him in to be seen. They wanted $125 for an emergency visit even though they were the ones who hurt him in the first place! So I cancelled the appointment. Someone from their office called me back that day and told me the grooming manager would be reaching out that following Monday. That was a week ago and I still havent heard anything back from them. I wont be taking my pets back there again. Which sucks cause I was super excited to have them somewhere I was told was so awesome! I guess thats what happens when vets go corporate. Pets are nothing but a dollar sign to them anymore.

Willow Creek Pet center has been our go to vet for over 30 years. They have cared for our various dogs and cats and maybe a gerbil. We have attended their Puppy classes and obedience classes and even an agility class. We have taken our dogs there for grooming as well as boarding. Yesterday our 13 year old Labradoodle collapsed at home and we could not get her up. I called Willow creek to bring her in and was told they had no more emergency appointments and to take her somewhere else. I was stunned. I did not think I would need to make an appointment for an Emergency! 30 + years and a few thousand dollars. So much for a caring family vet. Cottonwood Animal Hospital got us right in and sadly discovered a tumor on her spleen that was bleeding. At 13 years old we did not feel that kind of surgery was in her best interest. So , we had to say good ye to our good dog Lucy. On her 13th birthday. At this time I don t know if we will get another pet, but if we do, we will be finding a new vet. I don t feel they even deserve 1 star. So disappointed.

It takes a lot of stress off my shoulders knowing that the vets and staff will do everything possible to keep my pets healthy and happy. I would definitely recommend Willow Creek pet center to anyone looking for a high quality vet for a reasonable price. Our vet, Dr. Simmons is very knowledgeable and treats her patients as if they were her own. She is very patient and takes the time to explain everything going on with your pet and makes sure your comfortable with the treatment and how to administer the medications. I couldn t be happier with Willow Creek and there staff.

January 29, 2022

we are very disappointed with Willow Creek pet center. We boarded our dog for a week and made sure he had all of the necessary vaccinations in order to stay at the pet center. After being home for a few days, he started spitting up mucus. This required 2:00 A.M. emergency room vet visit where he was diagnosed with kennel cough. I was told there are up to 50 dogs for the stay and play. we were never able to see where the dogs were boarded when sleeping. I would not expect this to happen, especially for $50 a day. I do not recommend this place!

January 29, 2022

If you care about your dog don t come here. We had a litter of puppies here, now they re dead. We were given the option of a Saturday or a Tuesday to complete a C-section. If she was to go into labor between those days, we would have to go an ER for an emergency C-section. Most ER s do not do emergency c-sections unless we were lucky enough to find one that had a vet on the clock. With that in mind, we were given no realistic option since they were unable to accommodate the emergency C- section themselves. On top of that we were quoted $900 for the procedure and we were charged $1235. After we paid and ran into complications due to a lack of milk being produced, since they were pulled early, we begged for help and advise. We blew up their phones and emails begging for medication, formula, or anything in the world that would help us. The vet and his team refused to let us speak to Dr.Barney over the phone and said he would only respond to emails. To a big surprise there s a huge lag in the response time. Since a puppy without nutrition will live forever, we finally found a dog to foster our pups to get them the nutrition needed. Unfortunately by this time it was too late and now they are dead. Thank you for caring about your animals, seems like you just really wanted our money, then write us off. I hope this saves future customers a lot of money, and the lives of their dogs. I ve never been so disappointed in vet so much in my life. Thanks for taking my money. Consider a line of work that doesn t have lives at stake.

My one star review is only for the VCA Willowcreek CareClub membership. You pay $45.00 a month for unlimited visits, but... they only allot a certain amount of CareClub visits to be scheduled which puts them weeks out. Typically if you need to see a vet, you cant wait weeks. We pay $45.00 a month and they dont reduce any of the $120.00 bill to seen. You pay an additional $120.00 on top of your $45.00 monthly fee or wait weeks to get your animal help. Do not sign up for this plan. Even though it helped with shots over the first year, we would have paid less out of pocket.

Overall the whole clinic exhibits a lack of care in their quality of work, lazy behavior and general disorganization. I wont be putting my dogs health in their hands again. I dont think they are competent and they come off pushy and rude. They are getting two stars because I think their puppy preschool trainers are very friendly and do good a job. Its a fine daycare but a poor quality health facility. I took my dog for a stay and play evaluation which I had an appointment for. The receptionist was very dismissive and told me to go around back. I got to the back and the person there said they have no techs available and wouldnt answer any questions. They took my dog and told me to wait in the car which I thought was strange. Then they brought my dog back out and sent me a text to pay for services. Turns out instead of doing a stay and play they gave my dog an immunization she didnt need because she already had it. And I had to then, in addition to paying for the unnecessary immunization, pay for the stay and play and bring my dog back a different day. Later, I called to ask if I should make an appointment because my dog was acting lethargic since the previous night. The receptionist told me to bring my dog in for emergency care. I was alarmed but decided to do as they advised. When I got there the receptionists were rude and acted as though I were there for no reason. They asked me who I had spoken to and asked me again, condescendingly, if Id brought my dog in for an emergency because she was lethargic. I wouldnt have if they hadnt told me to. But they then proceeded to charge me 130 dollars for an emergency visit that clearly none of us felt my dog needed but one of them had advised me to get.

After MANY years, thousands of dollars, and trusting with MANY family members - (3 Shih Tsu s all lived long lives, 15-17 yrs, until 6 years ago when we said goodbye to our last!). Now finally new pup, and recent attempt to keep the Appt to bring our outdoor neighbor s cat who adopted us, in for her Sched apt to get vaccinations, but of course of all mornings she s missing. It seemed more inconvenient and stressful for WC policies, and message from Front Desk! Advised to rebook yes even if hard to predict as policy after 30 min window requiring resched Appt! Clearly seems they are struggling to keep clients! Many other less than positive reviews about customer service - even in emergency as just not available or willing to get out of the box! You cant even call without getting put on hold; message is consistent! The message today was all VETs too busy with COVID increasing the number of pets people have. Do the VETS have a voice left at all here, any flexibility? Tech even if it is just a question on getting a couple of vaccinations! News Flash - seems other clinics have figured out how to maintain a caring approach to maintain their patients I feel bad for the good doctors there trying to make a difference, while adhering to the managed care approach, not having any control over the message your front line is delivering, and your rules. You still have a few great Doctors there - (hold on to Dr. Barney) It wont be long before you lose them! There are more clinics out there! Just SAD to see you lose those with patients right in your backyard/same community, and to lose your reputation! Check your reviews!! Ps Even booking a grooming Appt seemed like they are just too busy - to be interested in making Appt for new puppy (after speaking w- grooming Mgr. Who was helpful, satisfied desk required copies of complete vaccinations prior to booking but they added ONE more they required (NEVER heard of it before! Asked another trusted VET, as never required on any of my dogs?! Not requested in any other bookings! And, not Part of new puppy routine vaccinations Vet might consider shot if boarding; Just seems like more hoops, $$ s keeping you from bringing business there? And, I really wanted to stay with Grooming there, but finding others (none requesting influenza shot).

We have a peach faced parrot that we thought was not doing very well. It is difficult to find an avian vet in this valley but low and behold VCA Willow Creek Pet Center said they have one. My wife called to make an appointment to have him looked at and possibly be euthanized if need be. We had an appointment with Dr. Olstrum at 9:00 This morning for a quality of life check. The receptionist was very kind and took us back to the examination room where we waited for twenty five minutes before anyone came in to see us. Finally someone named Amber came in to get our little bird and euthanize him. We said wait a minute, we would like to have him looked at by the vet! She then said the vet is not accepting new patients. Talk about a dysfunctional operation they are running here. We came under the premise we could see the vet, but this was not to be. My wife is completely heart broken over this. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place for your pets. They seem to only care if you have a dog or cat but not other pets. I can see why there are so many negative reviews!

Our dog incurred facial paralysis during a routine teeth cleaning. We have written to the Medical Director describing our anguish at what appears to be permanent facial damage to our beloved collie. After a week we have received no response from VCA. Specifically, 1) Damage to the facial nerve which occurred during routine dental cleaning. Note that this damage may result in permanent paralysis for the remainder of our dogs life. 2) Inadequate assessment upon recovery from anesthesia and patient discharge wherein complete facial paralysis was not noted. Note that the facial paralysis was not noted by VCA and this incompetence in evaluation lead to substantial delay in treatment which significantly reduced possibility of nerve recovery and exacerbated the possibility of eye damage. 3) Once our dog was returned to the facility for a follow-up with facial paralysis as a concern, he was not evaluated by a veterinarian for over 5 hours. Again, this substantial delay in evaluation and treatment significantly reduced possibility of nerve recovery and exacerbated the possibility of eye damage. 4) Lack of long-term follow up or treatment plan. After administration of steroids, the only treatment option suggested by Dr. Ahlstrom at VCA was tarsorrhaphy and then wait for improvement. There must be a better treatment option than sewing Odin s eye shut and hoping for the best, but no follow up treatment plan has been discussed. We asked Dr. Ahlstrom if we should bring Odin in for another assessment, and she said no not unless we think his eye is infected. She said there is not much else that can be done.

For cats, this place and the vets are very kind and have the most awesome care! However, some of the front staff come off as a bit condescending and rude. I appreciate the work they do and the stress they are under dealing with distraught owners, but thats exactly the point. Being rude to owners who are worried (I have both experienced this in person and over the phone) really worsens and doesnt help either party. I think it would be great to re-train or reach out to the front team to just be a bit kinder because just as we dont know how their day has been, they dont know how the people coming in have been or is going through. Besides that, I do love this clinic (just be prepared to have tough skin)!

We just moved to Utah with our two fur babies that are our whole world. We did a bunch of research looking for a place to board our pups that would be able to accommodate their special needs and keep them safe and happy. VCA was the only place that offered everything we needed. Our boy is on am/pm medication and is quite the worrier, and our girl is also on medication and is not dog friendly with many other personality challenges. Our pups were safe, happy, got their medication as needed and overall enjoyed their stay. We got the TLC package and the daily updates were just what I needed to keep my worries at bay. We picked them up and they were happy and loved the kennel techs that brought them out to us. After we got home they settled right into their routine and took great naps. They are clean and in great spirits. Amazing experience, highly recommended for the nervous pup parent unsure about boarding their babies.

Back in august of 2020, two baby rabbits were brought into my care. They were too young to be away from mom. One of the rabbits, a girl named Littlefoot, was really small and losing a lot of her fur quickly. I took Littlefoot to 5 different vets before I found Dr Ahlstrom. Dr Ahlstrom was able to figure out what was wrong, more than malnutrition like the other vets said. She got meds for Littlefoot that day, and she immediately started getting better. Jump forward to Oct 2021 Littlefoot s brother and litter mate, Spike, ended up with GI stasis. I called around to so many emergency vets in the middle of the night - none of which taking in rabbits. I was able to get Spike in with Dr Ahlstrom early the next morning. She was so kind, so gentle and so understanding of both the stress on Spike and on me. She has been nothing but helpful for me and my bunnies, and I m 99.99% positive that if it weren t for Dr Ahlstrom my bunnies wouldn t be here, and be as healthy as they are. We are eternally grateful for Dr Ahlstrom and the Willow Creek team

I m genuinely shocked by all the good reviews. People left and right are claiming the opposite of our experience. Once this place was taken over by VCA we saw a number of systemic changes. They re a money making machine now! Every visit has costs that has nothing to do with why we were there. They showed zero communication about the costs we were incurring throughout the visit and it was like they were sneaking things into the bill. I m glad people are talking care of their pets but this place will do that while they take you to the cleaners. We ve since found a wonderful new vet with much better transparency. I suppose my experience means nothing to people who can afford exaggerated vet bills so if this place is close and convenient I can definitely say they ve always taken care of our pets but if you can t swallow letting them tack extra $$ throughout the visit then I d be very wary. Its now been a couple years since I first left this review. Today my pup and I had to come back to WCPC as he was in need and I couldnt find an open appointment anywhere else. They immediately asked if they could run a cytology to help determine what treatment would be best. I agreed and they took him in the back. Later they returned with my beautiful boy and had already administered a cleaning, a steroid, and a dose of medicine. Which means they had already tacked on hundreds of dollars worth of services without my knowledge or consent. She could see my shock as I looked at the bill so she told me that I was lucky because I was able to get in on such short notice and otherwise it would have been double for an Emergency appointment. Thanks Willow Creek for reminding me what corporate policy looks like. You guys tarnish an industry of heroes and I hope you realize that people can love their pets to edge of the universe and back and still not want to be billed hundreds of dollars every time they need some help.

I literally cannot believe how amazing this clinic is. I took my rat in for surgery to have a mass removed and Dr. Kim knew exactly what she was talking about which is pretty rare inmy experience when it comes to pet rats as they are considered exotic animals. She gave me very detailed information about the surgery process and she reassured me that she had done many of these surgeries in the past and they were successful (it s always scary when your pet has to get put under as they can t regulate their body temps like humans can, especially a tiny rat!). After the surgery she called me herself to tell me how it went and how my rat was doing and gave me a time to come and pick her up. She gave me detailed instructions of how to care for my rat post surgery. She also sent me home with a long sheet of neatly typed out instructions for the medicine, potential side effects to watch out for, what my rat may act like after the surgery, how to spot if she is in pain, the list goes on and on. She even gave me a call a couple of days later to check up on me and my rat to make sure everything was ok! The cost of the surgery and all the medication was over $100 lower than she had originally quoted me as well which is always a nice surprise. The front desk staff and the vet tech that helped me were also very friendly and kind throughout the entire process. I can t recommend this clinic and Dr. Kim enough.

January 29, 2022

The Vets and vet techs are amazing. But I just had my dogs pain medication thru Chewy cancelled because they didnt send it thru. I called VCA everyday and talked to different receptionists and they either said they would look for the order and the most recent said yes they had it and they would send it over. Now my dog has gone days without it because the follow thru was not good. I now have to wait 5 business days for the money to get back on my account from the cancelled order and had to resubmit an order so I am out double the money until it goes thru and the price went up at chewy on my dogs pills. This has been a horrible experience. I am not impressed. Terrible customer service

This is not the same hospital that it use to be. Weve been going to Willowcreek Vet for about 25 years. This last 6 months have been horrible. If your dog is having an emergency or near death, theyre to busy to bother and tell you to go somewhere else. If you are having an emergency with your animal there is no emergency number to call. Its a voicemail. And that theyll get back to you. REALLY!!! THEY SUCK.

January 29, 2021

We have been bringing our pets to Willow Creek for over 18 years. Since they have moved to VCA, it has really changed. We recently had a medical emergency with our dog and they were too busy to see him and had to go somewhere else. This appears to be the trend now that they are busy whether not answering phone calls, long wait times on hold, etc. Very sad to see it going this way.

I think the vet service is great. But customer care needs a little help. When you call you get the option to leave a message. When you are waiting in the parking lot you get a long hold. I bet adding two phone lines, one additional support staff, devising a way to leave a text, or announcing an email would help. The vets and techs are wonderful. But its horrid to sit so long waiting in 101° heat.

These people care nothing for the animals, only the money!. My pet needed emergency care about 30 min before closing i called and explained the situation and they said get him there in the next 30 min and they will see us (added emergency tax a course) which I was fine with. Well I show up right at 7 and with the dying pet in hand they sent us away. My daughters pet died over the weekend as there was no vet at the place willow creek recommended. Bottom line use them if you want but make no assumption they actually care about the well being of your animal.

January 29, 2021

These people don t know what they re doing. They initially told us that we needed to wait until after our dogs first heat to spay her. Then right before she had her first heat they told us we should have spayed her when she was 8 months old. This was at about the 12 month mark. She is a Great Dane. We scheduled her for the spaying chip and stomach tack. They quoted us 800 and change. We took her in today and as we were dropping her off they told us 1300 dollars! Then argued with them and they reduced it to 1080. These people are a joke. Incredibly dishonest practices. We quoted out at other places closer to us around the 700-900 mark previously. We chose willow creek based on cost and previous experience. Then get there and realize the bate and switch. We would have taken her somewhere else.

Although they were quite expensive as it was a weekend emergency visit, I was grateful they were straight with me about my girls condition so I could make an informed decision on how to proceed. The only thing I would have changed was being able to say goodbye before we had to let her go, but I understand there was little they could do about that considering the current circumstances.

I have been a taking my Great Dane to them for years and they have been fantastic. However, I had to take my dog over to Blue Pearl for an emergency and Paid $400 for an exam, bloodwork, and prescriptions. When I had BluePearl send all of those records over they refused to refill her prescriptions saying she needed a new exam even though Blue Pearl sent over a very detailed email with all the exam, bloodwork notes etc... they are just trying to make a buck stating I need to pay an additional $65 for a new exam before they can refill the prescriptions and that they are 2 weeks out. My dog is out of medicine now. Will definitely be finding a better provider for my pet.

Lazy, neglectful, push you in and out without really looking at your animal. They assume without really examining.....They killed my dog. I m angry, I m hurt, and I d like to spare others the same pain. Written off every time I came in due to concerns over my dog these past 2 years, the vet would brush it off like it was nothing... every time I had a concern it was the same thing oh he s just getting old . Multiple times.... last time I took him his problems progressed to the point he was actually starting to die yet I was told he was healthy, they gave him his shots and told me to buy him allergy meds and he d be fine.. He died 2 weeks later... but when he got was noticeably getting worse a few days after that last appointment I tried to take him in once again but nah they turned me away!! Told me to find another place bc they were too busy but nowhere else would take new patients I got turned down by almost every clinic in slc. One place took us immediately and right away after LISTENING and doing a real exam the vet knew what it was and said we need to put him down. He was too sick by that point. I feel so much remorse and regret for listening and trusting one of the vets at willow creek. We should never feel that way for trusting a health care professional.... what makes me even more upset is that our dog could have been saved if we knew he had this issues much earlier. I even mentioned the symptoms every time to the vet at willow creek yet I was ignored like I was stupid and basically told not to worry about it. Go to another vet. Willow creek use to be like one of the best places but that time has clearly passed long yu

Dr Barney did a great job examining my dog and after a quick phone call explained a few concerns he had, we agreed it would be best to do a full blood panel which thank goodness came back clear. Grooming is also excellent. On occasion, Ive successfully used them for pamper package boarding, and our little dogs come home happy and healthy. For great care, however, owners should anticipate high fees and a bit longer wait time at drop off and pickup. You cant be in a rush, or youll become irritated. For a handsome price, they do provide a dog taxi, which is nice if youre disabled or just too busy.

They dealt well with the anxiety our Dane experiences and pointed us to some better drugs to use before coming to the vet which has been really helpful
