We just used the self service tub here for the first time today. What a great place! Wonderful customer service and they had everything we needed. I m so glad they take appointments. The place I used to go to didn t, and we d often show up and have to wait forever to get in.

Were very willing to accommodate my dog with her dislike of other dogs and had everything you need for a bath. Very friendly.

I take my dog here around once a month for a self service bath. I LOVE having this place near me. i m in Bluffdale and the closest one to me was in Daybreak where the service was terrible. The workers here are super friendly and kind to my pup every time. The place is really clean and well maintained and the price can t be beat. I will be going here forever and I will recommend it highly to anyone.

Great experience! This was my first visit and the staff made me feel at home and provided the guidance needed. Excellent products, I cannot believe how white and soft my dog is. Towels were provided, grooming dryer, towels and brushes. My dog is a 20 pound dog.

Bad service snd no inventory dont shop here way overpriced

Glad to have this place at the south end of the valley to have the brands we look for. They have dog bathing stations by appointment. We get the zignature dog food and our dog has never had an issue whatever flavor we give him. And hes a very sensitive fella. Parking is scarce and hours open later than some places for running errands.

Every time I go to Hound and Cat it is always a good time, they are so extremely helpful and positive. They are very knowledgeable when it comes to dog food and brands and what would best help you and your animal. Will keep coming back here for sure!

Hannah was so incredibly helpful! She had quick recommendations and it was comforting to know she uses the products for her own pup. I got the Pumpkin Spice Latte digestive powder and a trial of CBD chews and so far 10/10. My pups have been having digestive issues the last few days and they really lapped up this PSL. So far both the CBD chews and the powder are working super well!! I really appreciate the help I received. The store was super clean and organized. I loved seeing the dog wash station and will 100% come back again! THANK YOU HANNAH!

We love this store, we have been going there for the past 5 years . I will say that the prices are getting way too expensive and we keep having to change our dog food coz they have not been restocking usual products.

Ive used this place a few times, it is always been great I came in today for a self-serve dog wash, but didnt realize I needed to have an appointment. When I asked the lady if theres anyway we could get in she said very abrasively that they were booked and kept working on what she was doing. When I asked if there was a chance they would have an opening in the same tone she said no and continued what she was doing without much acknowledgment of me. When I agreed she said that we would have to come back tomorrow. The whole encounter was kind of unpleasant and I felt very disregarded by this staff member, I understand where she was coming from but the exchange was less than satisfactory

Came here for the 1st time yesterday the girl working was really nice and helpful, never tried a self serve dog wash place, this place is amazing nice and clean , big tubs to was your dogs and they provide shampoo, dryer, brushes, apron , towels. What more can u want and they do the clean up. Great experience will definitely be back.

So disappointed in this place. I have been going once a month for 12 months . Took my dog in on a Saturday and was told I needed an appointment. Twice this happened. Im fine with needing an appointment; however, there were 5 out of 6 baths open with dirty towels . The two girls said the customer was coming it at 3:00. It was 2:40. I would have been long gone by her 3:00 appointment. I think they didnt want to get of there phones and go clean the 5 open tubs...2 times weighing a month but I learned my lesson. Im not going back.

This place is awesome wash your dog without messing up your own place.

This place has great amenities when you can get in. They didn t used to require appointments. I can never get in even when it s in the middle of the day and I stop by and nobody in any of their 6 bathtubs they still won t let you bath your dog! I raise Guide dogs for the blind and it s really important to keep our dogs clean as they are in public and in restaurants and as a service dog they should be kept well groomed. But again I call and they won t let me bath my dog! They are missing out on a lot of self washes with me! I wouldn t recommend them for that very reason. Self washes should be convenient and this one is not! Go to dirty Johnson s they are way more accommodating!!

Able to clean our dog every week without the stress and mess

Came in to use the self service dog wash. The girl at the counter said I needed an appointment. I responded with there is nobody here. She said I know but it s our policy. All she had to do was get me some soap from the back room, I didn t ask her to wash my dog I ended up going to pet supplies plus, they also have a self service dog wash and it was cheaper. Knowing they have competition right up the road, you think they would be a little more accommodating and have better customer service. Won t come here again, and would not recommend

We love coming here to get a bath in for our sweet pupper. Its so nice to have somewhere that has raised bath tubs and hoses. They have blow dryers too! And the treat afterwards always makes the pupper happy! Will always recommend this place!!

UPDATE 3 years later: Horrendous service with absolutely NO consistency!! Weve been getting our food here for YEARS now & each year gets worse. We were encouraged by managers including the owner to do auto orders. Whenever we do so, they charge our card then call to say they dont have the food we ordered in stock. We continue to remind them that they encouraged us to be on auto order to be sure they always have the product. We even tried to compromise & get a different food they had in stock which led to stomach issues (you can only imagine) & vet visits. We always try to support local companies every chance we get, even if its a bit pricier. However, we are DONE supporting this store. We continuously have to scramble to feed our 2 dogs. NOT WORTH IT!!!!!!! Initial Review 3 years ago: Super knowledgeable and friendly team!! Great variety of quality brands. Prices comparable to online. We love supporting local businesses!

I love this place, I go to use the self wash, and it s always clean and comfortable to use. And Last time I went, they gave us Halloween goodie bag.

This was such a great experience! I can not give Hound and Cat high enough praise for their self dog washes and customer service!! I ve already recommending this place to everyone I know; book an appointment, you won t regret it! Hound and Cat has saved me so much time and energy, and the cost is low enough that it s 1,000% worth it! Everything is SO clean and nice and they have everything you ll need right there and ready for your appointment. The products smell great, their setup is PERFECT for convenience, you get plenty of time, and the amazing staff is always happy to grab more towels or anything else you ll need. The staff is so helpful and friendly, which really makes you feel welcome right away. This was my first time ever going to a self dog wash as my dog HATES baths and I was worried about how she d do with it. I can honestly say that this was the best bath experience we ve ever had with her, she actually enjoyed most of it for the first time ever, and we were able to do it and have her dry in record time! Thanks to everything provided we were able to get my 3/4 Husky washed and dried in about 25 minutes; at home it takes 15 minutes just to get her water-resistant coat wet enough to even add shampoo. I am GENUINELY impressed with Hound and Cat and will be doing ALL of my dogs baths here from now on!

The owner is amazing, he greets my dog by name every time we come in; and truly cares about the animals and their owners that support his business. A genuinely good guy. The employees are very kind and helpful. I highly recommend this place to everybody.

Second time there was much better. Maybe the employee was having a hard day. They were helpful and knowledgeable. I can t give 5 stars because of the first experience. First time I saw a lot of reviews on Very Friendly Staff but DANG... whoever was working yesterday could barely look up from her phone to sourly say that the dog wash stations closed at 5. It was my first time here so I was unaware.

I love this place I have two large dogs, and washing them at home has become increasingly difficult. I tried the little dog was shack at a local car was it was hot and dirty and not well maintained. The staff here was very friendly and helpful. The water was warm, the tubs were clean it was an all around good experience. If you need a good place to wash your dog give this a try you wont be sorry.

Took my German pup of 5 months today and we had a good/ hectic experience! The only hectic thing was my pup pooping after drying him! But one of the workers (wearing baby blue) was soooo amazing and sweet! She was very understanding and nice to us! The place is very clean and makes it really easy to wash your dogs! Especially if you have a bad back like me. Definitely recommend

Sign on door says open until 5, when I arrived at 3:46 they said the dog washes close at 3:45, even though it isnt stated anywhere on the store that they close those early. Very annoying and wont be returning.

Great place to give the dogs a bath. Reservation system is not effective as they always seem to always have open tubs but claim they cant get you in die to reservations.

I really enjoyed the self wash it was super easy even with my giant dogs but the customer service needs improvement. Whenever I have called about any questions I have theyre very rude and try to get off the phone as soon as possible, if they were nicer Id give a better review

Great experience! I took my doodle in for a bath, and it was awesome. The tubs are spacious and they have everything you need from shampoo & conditioner to brushes and dryers. It s the cutest little local shop! I would recommend.

They have good staff, good selection of shampoos to use, very clean wash area. We came in to give our dog a bath. The staff was upfront and mention that they were having issues with their hot water. The water was luke warm at best. However, they mentioned that it should be fixed the next time we came in. They offer a punch card system where your 6th wash is free. We will be back to give them another try.

I got a delivery from Hound & Cat and they were incredibly helpful about an out-of-stock product, and then order was at my door the next day. Thank you for being so reliable during a time of uncertainty.

Love this place! So nice and clean! They have tubs that you can walk all the way around, which makes it so easy to bathe my dog. They also have a shelf to put my purse on, so it doesnt have to be on the floor getting dirty. They also have super cute dog cookies and a good selection of toys and food:)

This is my new favorite place to shop for my furry friends. Went in with my one-year old husky yesterday and the staff was super friendly towards me and my pup while also being very knowledgeable. Love their selection of premium food, treats, and supplies that cant be found at your typical pet store.

We ve been here twice now, they re amazing! The owners and staff are super friendly and helpful. The baths are great. They provide shampoo, brushes, towels, and blow dryers. Our two dogs (golden and bernese) have never been cleaner! They also have a little shop with organic goods that are really well priced, just like the baths. Would highly recommend!

We started going here just for our preferred brand of dog food (Fromm). Their prices were fair so we made this our go-to pet store. I had noticed the dog wash stations in the back, but never was in a position where I could have brought my dog since I was always stopping there on the way home from work. We ran out of food on the weekend so I decided it would be a good time to check out the dog wash. I will say that it was an excellent experience ( for me at least; the dog hates baths). The staff was friendly and extremely helpful walking me through the drill there. They provided a custom blended shampoo for my dogs fur type. And we were in and out with just a few whimpers from our Bernese Mountain Dog. The price is extremely reasonable to boot, so we will be making many return trips here!

Beautiful facility. Im not thrilled that the dryers are just reverse vacuums so the air is cold.

We had a great experience here! Our pup was so much easier to bathe in the big tub at hound and cat. I stayed mostly dry and bath time was cut in half. The staff walked us through the process, checked on us frequently, and doted on our cute Tango. I had questioms about food and supporting a pup with a sensitive tummy and left feeling confident about the advice given. Thanks Hound and Cat and we will see you again soon!

I absolutely love this business. The employees are so kind and helpful and they carry the best brands. I am always greeted right when I walk in and am asked if I need help. They also always ask in they can carry the items to my car. I requested some samples and they also got those ordered for me right away. I went for some CBD treats for my dog because of the 4th of July fireworks. Cute little store. Employees seem to know about there items they were very helpful.

I usually go to another local dog store for my dogs food, treats, etc.. Thought id try these guys out. A bit pricey (but i get that, just stating for the sake of the review,) small little spot and hidden, took me a minute to find the place. Quaint set up in the back for self serve dog washes, priced very fair i thought! Overall a 3, i hope in the future they expand and bring other great, healthy dog food options & toys as well. Oh and their paper bags are so stinkin cute! :) Clean, well put together little local spot for pet parents who actually want to provide their dog with wholesome, nutritious food! :) Thanks again! Will return soon.

The website says open until 5pm on sat. Got there at 415 pm for them to tell me, rudely, that self serve dog wash closes at 430 pm, but they want it to stay clean so they could close & so I couldnt wash my dog. A reply stated that the website accurately states this...now. Maybe your website & google info should coincide with the true services and times...or just dont post on google. If people look up your address info, and hours google, most would assume they can arrive for those services.

Hound and Cat is a great new business with friendly owners and an excellent selection of supplies for your pet. Especially locally sourced treats! Its in perfect vicinity to the Dayland Dogpark which means I can take my pup and let her romp to her hearts content, then stop by Hound and Cat for a bath. Our first experience at the bath was a fun one and they were super helpful and welcoming. Prim and I will be regulars!

My girlfriend and I came in looking for some food for our Great Dane puppy. We didnt know what to get him, since he has a sensitive stomach and has been on prescription food for it. Hound & Cat were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They showed us all of the different types of food and what their own customers with Great Danes recommended. Nothing beats the expertise and care of this shop! Highly recommended!

So happy about this new dog wash/ pet supply shop in town! The dog wash is beautiful, clean, and like a little spa day for our dog with a pile of white towels to dry him off with and nice soap mixed up to use. Perfect stop on our way home from dirty hikes. The owners are super friendly and helpful. They also have a great selection of unique and trendy treats and toys. Washing our giant golden doodle is now kinda fun :)

My husband and I came here for the self wash dog station and had such a great experience. The owners were beyond helpful and you can tell they really love dogs. They provided us with more than enough shampoo products and had an awesome variety to choose from(even hypoallergenic for our sensitive guy). The dog wash stations were so easy to use and made our dog washing so easy. So much better here than trying to wrangle our hydrophobic husky at home. They have everything you need and the store is super cute. We left with some local treats for the pups and they loved them.

This is a great self wash dog option. I ve been looking for a good place to wash my dog since moving here and finally found it. The staff was very friendly and the price is very reasonable (totally worth not having to deal with the aftermath of washing the dog in my own tub). I will definitely be back regularly

This place is amazing! I just moved here recently. My dog has epilepsy and when she has a seizure she can get very smelly and gross. And it is so expensive to groom her everytime. Having this self serve dog wash is the best. And the owners are awesome. They were very friendly and helpful. And they provide so much for you. They give you aprons, shampoo and conditioner, towels, a wet brush, and they even offered me ear wipes to clean my dogs ears! It was so clean and well kept too. No hair or excess water. I am so impressed and will definitely be going back. Cant say enough good things about it.

Marcus was an absolute champ who took the time to help not only warm up the shampoo and conditioner for my little Pomeranian named Gator, but helped me pick the appropriate puppy training treat. We came here for the self-serve dog wash and were not disappointed. From the minute we entered the store, the 2 employees were friendly and helpful. They explained the process of the dog wash and gave us helpful suggestions. Different shampoos, clean towels, and a nice blow dryer were all available to use. When we were ready to pay, we perused the store front and picked up an all natural treat for our dog. We will definitely be back!

I discovered this place by seeing there ad at the Draper dog park. I gotta say that Im really impressed. Cheapest place around to do a self service dog wash, but also one of the highest quality places Ive been too. Really good customer service.

We love this store! They had some really adorable collars and leashes, and their dog wash pricing was extremely reasonable and easy to use.

This is a small business run by passionate and caring people and it shows. I had been feeding my cats and dog Blue Buffalo and had recently stumbled across articles outlining various safety issues with their food and that it was nowhere near as healthy as marketed, and I went into the store armed with questions and one of the associates, I feel bad that I cant remember her name, spent easily twenty minutes walking me through the different cat foods they had, information about the companies that made them as well as details about the food itself, and that was exactly what I needed to feel comfortable about the choice of which food to switch to. Go into this shop knowing that the food is going to be more expensive, but they care higher quality foods from smaller companies that dont spend all their money on marketing, they actually use high quality ingredients. I personally dont plan on going anywhere else to buy pet food for as long as I live in SLC. Its a trustworthy small business that stocks products from other trustworthy small businesses and thats the kind of business that Im happy to support.

Finally, a store in the valley that carries Taste of the Wild! Had a great environment and huge variety of dog food and treats. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Loved the store!

I brought Grizzly to Dog and Cat for the first time today and loved it! The owners are so sweet and Griz didn t mind getting a bath like he does when we go to the groomers. It was fast, easy, and affordable. Great place! I will be coming back often.

I really like this pet store. Great location, the people working there are knowledgeable, informative, helpful and nice. I need a specific food brand for my dogs allergies. They were able to order it and have it in stock in less than 10 days. I will be a regular customer from here on out!

The options they have available are awesome! My cats love the Nulo brand in particular and i love that they have a rewards program, for every 12 bags purchased 1 is free. The people working are also extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They always help me carry my load out to my car. Great business and it s run even better. I highly recommend them. Great experience taking my pups into their dog wash. Staff recommended a wonderful shampoo that made my dogs super soft, and everything was set up to make my dogs feel comfortable and safe. One of my pups hates bath time, but this was a great experience for her and she didn t cry or whine at all. I will be going back again.

Great owners and a great shop! We went to try the self-service dog wash and loved it. We have two large dogs (100lb Lab and 50lb Aussiedoodle) that are difficult and messy to bathe at home, especially in the winter. Not only are the tubs large and convenient, but the wash price includes shampoo, towels, waterproof aprons for us to use, and the quietest blow dryers ever. Neither of our dogs normally like them, but these were not only fine for them but effective too. And we didnt have to clean up, either! The owners had treats for the dogs and were happy to let them sniff all the amazing items in the store - specialty food and treats, toys, leashes, and health supplies. Well definitely make Hound and Cat part of our routine!

Excellent store and service! The store is very neat looking and carries great products for dogs and cats. They even have self-washing stations for your pets. Very friendly staff as well.

We love this shop! Super premium products for dogs (and cats) including some locally made treats. The store is super clean, and the self-service dog wash is amazing. The provided shampoo selection is awesome. Freyja loves going to Hound & Cat to pick out some toys and her favorite treats!
