VETCO- I had a scheduled vet appointment the nurses and doctors were great although the guy that was helping me check in was very rude inferring i dont know how to take care of my pet. he denied me my pets prescription after repetitively insisting my pet needs to be on a schedule after telling him multiple times my pet is infact on a schedule for this medication. ive been to other locations that have refilled my pets script no problem and even giving me more supply to avoid having to wait to get it.

Nice employees but these fish tanks are horribly dirty and the shrimp tank had lots of planaria. I don t recommend buying shrimp here. Felt so bad for a lonely shrimp but knew i couldn t but it because of the planaria. Please try to get rid of the planaria for the sake of these shrimp.

I like their selection of exotic Bird foods. I have a Goffins Cockatoo. Just one problem about Petco is always check their ads and make sure you get the correct price as the last 2 times I bought Browns Encore parrot food there, they had an advertised price of $8.29 per bag but they tried to charge me the full price of over thirty dollars for 2 bags. I had to pull up the ad on my phone and show it to them to get the corrected price. That, to me, is a problem that their stores dont reflect their advertised pricing.

Great help and suggestions from most of the staff. One gentleman who is older acted put out, but one of the other staff stepped in and did a great job at answering my questions.

The shelves are empty here a lot. Most things Im looking for I cannot find. Whether its a certain type of food or certain product, they dont have it. Its like they never recovered from COVID or something. PetSmart seems to always have exactly what I need and everything is stocked. The people here are nice for sure and theyre helpful but, if I can find a PetSmart thats where I would go first., if I can find a PetSmart thats where I would go first.

Unfortunately and this is with most commercial pet places this place is very expensive! They have a harness for a dog as an example its $50 thats ridiculous. You can get a harness on Amazon for much less than that

I went to get vaccinations. After spending 200 and 100 dollars respectively I try to take my dog to a daycare, but they need a flu vaccination. Which wasn t included in my package. I went to you guys expecting to be taken care of. Expecting for you to have knowledge of the vaccinations needed, but I was sorely disappointed

If I could leave 0 stars that would ideal, and after reading reviews and reading the responses from the owner I wish I had not wasted my precious time or gas on going to this pathetic location. Kim neglected to have the walk through done right at 9 pm (when the store closed) An employee walked past the isle I was in and announced that the walk through had not been completed some hills have eye imbread lookin fella approached and said quite snarky we are closed, you ready to check out? As it s common sense that i wasn t as I was heading towards the food section.. if I wasn t allowed to grab my last item why would I be questioned if I was ready 2 bloody minutes after the store closed my god! So I was pushed that I needed to purchase my 2 items, not was the necessity that i came for in the first place, why would I purchase anything from this god forsaken place so with his poor customer service attitude and lacking common sense, I said I would return tomorrow. He gave attitude and nobody followed me to unlock the door, which is illegal and I m sure I could press charges for unlawful detention, so I let myself out cause I was made clear to leave immediately, just minutes after the store closed.. now to whomever is writing as owner on behalf of Petco, yalls service still sucks despite stating that you ll improve customer service, essentially it s gotten worse.. waste of my damn time when I just simply needed one more item before I could remove my presence from the store boycott this location so they can be shut down, I ll make the drive to my sugarhouse location as they wouldnt have treated me as such an inconvenience & scum between their toes because they was in hurry to go smoke their meth.. Americans and their garbage attitudes and being oblivious to what customer service really is and lacking respect and decency to customers that pay their wages Glad Amazon does overnight delivery (4 am to be exact) so my dog can have breakfast in the morning, yet Petco supposedly cares about the wellbeing of animals so much..

Petco as a company needs to do better with their betta fish. Seeing those poor fish in tiny cups every time I come in is heartbreaking. Their water isn t changed often enough, so they essentially melt and burn away in their own filth. They have no stimulation and they can barely turn around. It s cruel. Petco has more than enough resources to set up a racking system with 2.5 gallon tanks that are heated and filtered and have plants, so that the fish at least have a chance at life. Why should new owners of bettas have to spend extra money to nurse a fish back to health, purely because the store they bought the fish from can t be bothered to properly care for the animals in their care? Smaller, individually owned fish stores have racking systems for their bettas, but will Petco choose to do the right thing? Nah. That costs money and it s way cheaper to buy large quantities of fish that can t be moved out, so they end up dying miserable, very preventable deaths. After all, they re just living breathing animals, so who cares?

Shop all the time for my new puppy and love doing trainings with Danielle, The store is always clean and well stocked and I have never had an issue with any of the staff! Highly recommended

This isnt my favorite Petco simply bc they have a huge store with a bunch of employees that are too busy on their phones to say hello. I might go here to get pet supplies but they are not a place I would buy a pet.

That was very knowledgeable and helped pick out a muscle that works perfectly for my dog without knowing is actual size just based on his breed. Also the cats available to adopt are well taken care of and have clean enclosures

They are understaffed, and the shelfs are empty. Only one of the 5 items that I ordered online were actually in-stock. I found it frustrating that the website said the fort union store had all of my order in stock. Also the online prices dont mach the in store prices. And patcos website had some glitches.

Went in today to buy over 10 cans of cat food. At checkout I was told if I wanted a bag, I would need to pay for it. PAY FOR A PLASTIC BAG when I am spending almost $20 on cat food. I was told it is now a storewide thing, if you want a plastic bag you need to pay for it, or buy one of their re usable bags. Ended up doing a balancing act to the car carrying the cans of cat food that they would not give me a bag for. Unbelievable!! They already charge way too much for cat food, raising the price of a large bag of Cat food a few weeks ago from $59 to almost $100 now. Now they want you to pay for a bag to carry out the items you had to over pay for out of their store. Are you kidding me? I dont care if Chewy takes an extra day to ship, I will be doing all my per shopping from them now.

Great customer service. I felt this because my needs and concerns were addressed. The staff were really helpful when it came time to purchase an item. The staff member even helped me put my purchases in my vehicle so I could hold onto my cat. During the vet visit, the staff were friendly and understanding. They showed this in the way they greeted my anxious kitty. I just wish that I would have had the right treatment the first time. I ended up getting a second opinion and got the issue completely taken care of.

I received very good assistance on purchasing two parakeets live wanted to buy for a long time, but was hesitant. I was assured that within the 30 days if they become ill or somethings wrong, I can simply exchange them or take them to get veterinary care.

be sure to account 30min for hours of operation - all switched off and no assistance before closing. Petco app - is a pain, code scanning never works and re-typing item code is not easy, plus it resets every time you want to use.

Like stopping by to see what my animals might want. I love their Vital Care membership for my dog. They also have it for cats. Totally worth it!

Never have the dog food I want and always have a very long line with one person working. They page for help but it takes a while to show up and is just a dumb way to run a store.

Love this Petco, its normally pretty quick to get in and out of there and they have improved on the frequency of restocking before completely running out. They still have some improvement on restocking but I do see it improving!

My first time shopping at Petco I was very pleased with the wonderful customer service from the employees. It s very rare to come across good customer service and I was blown away by the wonderful customer service I received!! I also paid a visit on the 3rd of July 2023 and was helped by Victoria who helped me find the right cat food for my cat who cannot keep absolutely anything down. Victoria was very knowledgeable about the foods and suggested the perfect food for him. I am so grateful for Victoria s ABSOLUTELY AMAZING customer service.

I saw four dead frogs because of poor, uninformed conditions. When I brought this up to the staff, they seemed unconcerned and didnt seem to care about improving the living environment of the animals. Im never giving my money to Petco again until theres some real changes made; these are living creatures that are neglected to death.

This place is terrible. 5 separate occasions I have gone there for tropical fish and on all of them they have been unable to sell them due to staffing issues. Their answer is to turn off all lights when they cant sell them. Yep, fish dont need light. Meanwhile condition of tanks is deplorable. Dead fish everywhere and way overstocked since they dont ever sell them. Animal cruelty anyone? I am telling everyone and will never be back.

It wasnot a pleasant experience because I found out terrible news about my pet. However the attendees were very cordial with me and my pet. I was sad to learn however that there is not staff there all the time, as I thought at least from the opening time of 9am til maybe 4 or 5pm.

This is the nicest petco I ve ever been to. All of the fish and animals to adopt were lively and taken care of.

Victoria could not have been less helpful. Tried to buy prescription dog food, that we have a current prescription for from OUR vet. They refused to sell it to us without a current card from THEIR vet? It seemed lucky that their vet office was open, so we went over to get a card like they asked. The vet had no idea what they were talking about and couldn t get us a card because they are vaccinations only the vet even walked up to the counter with us and was also confused why they refused to sell us food. Ended up not getting any food, and Victoria tried telling us to feed our dog non-prescription food in the mean time, doesn t seem like great pet store advice.

I ve been coming here for years, Victoria refused to sell me my dog food with a valid prescription and a valid Petco barcode. Will be following up with corporate. Victoria should not be employed anywhere that deals with people or animals.

If no stars were an option I would have chosen that thanks to Caitlin (the fish patrol). Trying to buy a few fish should not be a difficult task. Unfortunately it became one within seconds of asking for assistance in getting them. Instead of just getting us what we asked for, Caitlin decided to refuse to get us any of our selections and treated us like like idiots. She was beyond unprofessional and rude. It s too bad that she made it such an unpleasant experience. I ll never return to the store again.

DO NOT BUY A CHAMELEON FROM HERE: IT WILL SUFFER AND DIE Poor girl was already suffering when we bought her, and didnt even last a month. We fed her horn worms (she loved them) and crickets dipped in calcium inside a custom built enclosure with plenty of space, plants, warmth, sunlight and moisture. She suffered from a pre-existing calcium deficiency and held on as long as she could. She passed away at the bottom of her enclosure, after a week of being unable to move.

I ve been coming here for couple years, never had any problems with staff or management. Until I spoken with the manager Victoria. As someone who is the manager, I never seen someone so annoyed to help her employees and the customers out. While rushing out the office she started speaking with attitude towards the questions I had about the pet food I was trying to purchase. Instead of assisting and listening to the questions, she repeatedly told me there s nothing we can do, we don t know anything and you need to just call customer service to ask them the questions you have as I m trying to speak, she rudely interrupts over and over. Then tries to get into my face as I didn t hear her, when she s standing behind the counter which isn t wide range between employee and customer. I wasn t going to entertain that behavior, so I left. If anything, Victoria should work on her management skills as I m sure this situation and other future situations that occur could be handled in a more professional approach instead of a poorly unprofessional one.

They should assist that customer better and make it easier to pick up the order in store also. The price on the store website is cheaper.

Cashier was friendly, the manager was meh- I understand her hands were tied but she could use some better customer service handling skills- but really the review given is for the store return policy forcing me to have to get store credit even though I had the receipt and was within the 30 day time frame. Now I have a bunch of store credit for a store I don t want to give more money to.

Tried bringing my dog in to get her nails clipped, and evrytime I get in there they have a sign up not taking walk ins. Doesnt matter the time of day that sign is always up when I bring her in. Petsmart never has a sign up saying that so I will take her there everytime now.

They made me pass my credit card two times and they say only one transaction went through. My credit card shows both transactions went through. They would not do anything about it. They said to call my bank.

Went into Petco today to purchase dog food. my 5-year-old child needed to use the restroom so we walked towards the back and noticed their signs on both restrooms stating no public use restrooms. I am 33 years old and Ive been going there since the location opened I have never seen this at any Petco. There is no reason any customer should track down employees to have a bathroom unlocked especially when you have a child that needs to use the restroom. And then I catch the employees talking about how they only do it for December. I am completely against this there is no reason the restrooms should be locked to the public. Have you ever seen the movie Big Daddy? If the employee wasnt kind enough to unlock the door which she had the wrong key for the wrong bathroom wasting more time when a 5-year-old needed to use the restroom when it should have been unlocked in the first place I was just going to Big Daddy it. Fix this problem theres no reason the restrooms should be locked I am completely dissatisfied.

They quote you $57 for a groom and wash. Turns out there is some small print in the waiver you sign including a standard $6 materials fee that the staff does not mention at any point. It was frustrating that they didn t include that in the quote. Sneaky. The cut itself is fine, except for the face. I ll have to fix it myself. Very disappointing experience. Will go elsewhere next time.

This is the worst pet store the only thing pet is the manager Kim. She is rude disgusting and has ZERO customer service skills. Every single one of the fish tanks had dead fish. And not just one but at least 3 to 5 per tank. She began to scream at me and tell me that the customer is not right, the sotee staff is always right. NEVER COME TO THIS STORE AND SPEND MONEY TO SUPPORT TOOTHLESS METH ADDICTS THAT RUN THIS STORE!!!! WOULD GIVE ZERO IF I COULD!!

I took my sweet anxious dog in to get groomed this morning, and Jace was beyond amazing. He really took the time to work with my dog, make him feel comfortable, and had all of the patients to make sure my dog was given the best care there was. Seriously, thank you so much Jace for accepting my dog even when he was scared. Sinner and I appreciate you so so much. You re truly an angel and spectacular at what you do! We will definitely come see you again soon to say a special thanks to you. I wish there were more people in the world like you! You re the best Jace, thank you thank you thank you!!!

My wife went in and got a sales staff to help her get a salt water fish. She brought home a vicious creature it was purple and killed 2 fish then disappeared Im serious 3 fish gone not a good choice for my tank!

Our dog loves this store. The groomers are incredible! We also did puppy training with Cameron who was awesome!! This store has helped us through the puppy phase.

Do not put your crickets at the counter if your employees are not trained to count the crickets or how to even put a rubber band on top of the bag properly. Didnt appreciate the employee walking away to play with a puppy halfway through my transaction either.

I was in the store and I was requesting certain type of dog food because we had picked up the wrong brand and they told me that they had it in the back but it was on a pallet it was behind another pallet and they said it would take a few days for them to be able to unload the pallet and refused to do anything to help me when they knew that my dog did not have any food the manager walked away without your meetings are resolution and just offered a refund extremely poor customer service when it comes to the need for food for an animal I won t be going back

There s an older woman at that store (total Karen) do not recommend going when she s working she, ignored me when I asked to buy a gold fish to feed my pet. We sat there and waited and waited trying to find someone to help us and when she finally got to us she kicked us out and was extremely rude about it and trying to treat us like children when we re all old enough and have id to buy a fish. And apparently we had to leave because she was about to close. When the store didn t close for the next 10 mins. Do not recommend going here choose a different place/petco

Went to get some feliway for my cat because hes been scratching. Spent $50 in store on it before realizing the SAME EXACT PRODUCT was $26 online. Dont buy things in store unless you find it online. Seems like some shady business practices.

Love the people and service here. But the last two fruit fly cultures I bought I had to throw out because in less than two weeks they became all moldy and Im pretty sure its why my 400 baby mantis died due to refusal to eat. Its absolutely devasting losing ever single mantis I hatched from six ooths. Hundreds of dollars and time wasted because they refused to eat. I can only imagine from the fact the cultures were not good to begin with.

Felt a little dirty, but fun to look at the animals. Although the animals looked overstocked in the cages, and dont seem to have much space to move around comfortably. Update: The animals are healthy. The staff is friendly, and I love their quality selection of pet food.

Previously left a very good review. Had an appointment scheduled for the groomer at noon today. Was on a tight schedule and got there to stand in line as usual. Found out the groomers stack appointments at the same time, hence the reason there is usually a line. I work in a customer service oriented job. If we have customers scheduled to come in at the same time, we have someone to take the appointment for each person scheduled. The impression I have here is that the business has the luxury of stacking appointments in the same time slots to their advantage, while the customer waits on them. In my line of work, this is not an acceptable business practice. We have a heavy, high-paced, stressful work environment where we are the only choice for the customers business, yet our ethos is to treat customers as if they did have another choice. Ended up having to request more leave from work to accommodate the groomers business model. Would recommend other options, but I think this service is in high demand and you are likely to get the same wait on the business rather than the other way around. Petco overall is good place to go for your pets needs and wants.

I was needing to pickup a cooling pad for my service animal whom is Shitzu. I was very disappointed at their selection because the choices they had was Large and Xtra Large. Employees walked around like they didnt want to be there.

APPARENTLY, They stop selling fish at night. Its not posted anywhere, but they just lost out on selling $450 in saltwater fish. Not a single employee would help us... yes we asked 3. They all said they stop selling fish 30 minutes before close. This is the dumbest policy ever. No customer service whatsoever. These employees are getting paid too much to not do their jobs.

My Scottish Terrier, Bisbee, got the best grooming ever at this location! We will definitely continue to go there. Downside: When I called for the price of bath and grooming I was told $55.00, but once a materials fee and tax are added the cost is $65. Add a much deserved tip to that and it becomes $75. Very expensive so cant have this done as often as we woulkd like.

Kathleen is an excellent dog groomer! She made my little Pomchi look like a king he was so handsome! What impressed me even more was her ability to work with such a scared, shaking, little pup (who likes to nip sometimes when he s scared) and earn his trust. He never nipped at her! I was so impressed!

Friendly Folks pleasant shopping helped me get what I came for

CRUEL and DESPICABLE treatment by the manager, Jim, to my elderly (82 year old mother). She purchased a cat igloo and wasn t offered a receipt because they were out of printing paper. She asked the manager, Jim, if he would issue a hand-written receipt, which he did. Later she decided to return the item but was told by another employee working that day that the hand-written receipt did not contain enough information in order for them to issue a refund. She was told to return when Jim was working and take it up with him. A day later she returned to the store and Jim would not give her a full refund because the item was listed for $115 on the shelf and she claimed to have paid $135 (no price listed on receipt, written by him). She was then told in order to prove the $20 discrepancy she would need a copy of her returned check from the bank. Two weeks later she obtained her bank statement AND a copy of the cashed check. Jim looked at her copy of the cashed check and even though the check proved she had indeed paid the full $135 he told her he wouldn t issue a refund because she failed to have the bank give her a copy of the BACK OF THE CHECK!!! She showed Jim her bank statement and explained this was her third time in and patiently asked him to make this right. He finally relented and said condescendingly, I will do it this time as a favor! But it s not our policy. Interesting that Petco s policy is to issue hand- written receipts that don t include all of the information about a purchase and won t hold up for a return. Another interesting policy to have 82-year old seniors drive all over town trying three times to get a refund that should have been given from the start. I told my mom to stay away from Petco and the manager, Jim. I will help her purchase on Amazon prime in the future where prices are typically 50% less than Petco s marked-up prices and where returns are fair, honest, and easy. Warning to all- do not walk, but RUN!! as far away from Petco as you can.

Found exactly what I needed!

I come into this location often because I live and work nearby. I came in less than an hour ago to purchase food for my dog. Every time I come into this location, I make my way around the store and look at all of the animals. My fiancé and I were looking at the tree frogs and one of them was deceased in the middle of the enclosure. We walked away because it made me very sad and we let an employee know that the frog was dead. They said they would tell someone since they were off the clock, but when we were making our way back up to the front the dead frog was still there. We walked up to the counter to pay for our dog food and the 2 employees standing there were too busy speaking in fake British accents and talking to each other. The one employee referred to us as a young lady and her man rather than speaking to us directly. We have never been treated like this at any store, let alone this one. Do better.

Fairly knowledgeable staff for a big box pet store, though, while they are always friendly, it can be a core to get assistance sometimes. I prefer aqueon for my aquarium supplies and petco tends to keep the brand in stock. Weve purchased live fish from various petcos and theyve always been healthy and lively.

I placed an order for 2 bags of dog food online and petco called door dash to have it delivered because it was not in our town well when it was delivered the picture only showed one bag delivered we called petco to ask how many bags were picked up and the midvale manager told us she wasnt able to tell us how many bags were picked up? Funny that the people over her was able to tell us that 2 bags were picked up the door dash guy only delivered one.. so either the manager was in on that theft or the door dash guy stole a bag, these bags were going to someone who needed dog food for her dogs because she was homeless and needed food for her dogs.. well needless to say i will never purchase anything online from petco Midvale Utah

Was just in that store. I was taking my time for the last hour picking out everything I needed to get 2 dwarf hamsters an awesome home /all they could ever need. But when i went up to the front to ask to get them with all my stuff in hand they denied me to adopt them because it too late for adoptions. Mind you it is only 10 minutes until close and im the only customer there, they just lost over a 100 dollar sale.....worst customer service ever I will never go back to that location .........

The sales associate, Sage, was very helpful and very customer focused. Because of Sage, we will definitely continue to shop at that location for our pet needs. We actually went in again this morning and Sage again took excellent care of us.

Brought my dog in to get a deep brush bath and nail trim. Dropped him off at the scheduled time of 11 o clock. Came back at 2:30 hoping that he would be done and he still was not done. Which was a little alarming that he was in a kennel this entire time. They finally called me back at around 4 o clock for me to come pick him up. I picked him up and brought him home and it was clear that he had a bath because he was clean. However my daughter quickly noticed that he was still shedding just as much as he was before we brought him in. It was clear that they did not do any brushing and they also did not trim his nails. The next day I called to speak with a manager and no one returned my call I called the next week no one returned my call after trying for about three weeks I finally got a call from a manager who basically just said there s nothing that she was willing to do for me and I can go somewhere else. Very disappointed would not recommend this place

Petco is great! They have a way bigger variety of whatever you need for your durables. Its allot to look thru. The quality is so much better than pets mart. I found everything I needed. Also I give my dog a hard to find kinda pricey dog food. Petco has it and they will deliver it the same day no fee. I use to drive to this pet store way out of the way just to get it. 2 !!!

Excellent service especially the grooming department. Beautiful dog cut and finished as they predict - dog excited to go there.

Fun stuff, a lot of it is pricey. Cute rescue cats though--my kids LOVED playing with them. Theyd love to help socialize them if theres a way to sign up to do that!
