Centrally located, just 5 minutes from I-15, I-80 or I-215, you’ll find Brickyard Kennel in the same shopping complex with Ma and Pas Dog Bakery and Tuxedo Junction. iPawd Inc.’s experienced, professional staff is dedicated to providing you and your beloved pets with tons of fun whether your pets are with us for boarding (of dogs, cats, and exotics), daycare, puppy training, dog grooming or cat grooming. We care, and it shows. We are not a large fancy & impersonal corporation. We are a small, family-owned and operated business with a staff of caring people who believe as we do — our pets are members of our families.
Boarded my dog here for the first time for about a week and the staff was very helpful, gave him a good experience, and it was reasonably priced, especially for the holidays. I was able to check in on him via an app that had a video feed of the play area and called a few times to check on him and anyone who answered was really nice and helpful. When I got him back he seemed to be doing great and didn't miss a beat being back with us in our home.
First time boarding my dog. I was a little nervous because he has animal aggression issues. They did so good with Beige and understanding. We will use them again for sure.
With my health problems it’s tough to be separated from my cat Mama but I can sleep easy getting my care at the hospital knowing full well my girl is being taken care of in the arms of Brickyard Kennel. They provide care, love and time with each of their animals. I’ve seen it firsthand. I’m bad with names but the entire staff is so great.
My pug loves going to daycare here. The ladies are always excited to see him and he rushes to greet them. I love that you can check the camera (subscription from app store) and see them playing and keeping the play area clean. They've helped me when he needed ear drops and nail trims, and they track his vaccines for me. The building is older but it hasn't been a problem for me. They have outdoor fenced areas as well as the playrooms and naptime kennels, it's the best way for my dog to get exercise in bad weather.
Booked a day of daycare to try out before boarding our dog and I'm really glad I did. We won't return. Don't let the nice website fool you. Made the appt on the phone and was told I'd get an email confirmation with a link to the portal- never happened. At drop off I was told that to be at daycare she needed the influenza vaccine (would've been nice to know ahead of time) but don't worry, we can do it here (eye roll, really had me right where they wanted me). Staff was nowhere to be found when I came to pick up. Five minutes in the lobby before the staff came out, didn't greet me or say anything about me having to wait. I had to ask how my dog did and the response clearly communicated that they didn't pay much attention at all.
Didn't like visiting my dog in a dirty room with a dirty mop bucket where he could of drank out of it. Never received my deposit nor his dog leash.
Had to take my new boy for one day while some stuff was being done in my apartment. I didn't want him to have to deal with strangers coming in and out of his new home. He instead got a great playdate. Was very tired and happy when I picked him up. Everyone was so nice to me and my new boy,♥️
My dogs been there over a month due to living conditions. They've been kind and helpful in housing home. Hope to get him soon.
Brickyard kennel is a great spot for your furry friends. It s affordable, the staff is extremely attentive. My dog loves going there!
If youre looking to have your pet absolutely spoiled. This is the place for you.
Love them and will use again
My boxer and border collie love staying here. They always come home tired and clean.
The service at Brickyard was amazing. My dog Diesel enjoyed every visit and was well taken care of.
Luckily I was able to get my 2 dogs in here last minute. I was headed out of town over the weekend and my usual place was fully booked. I was able to get in here. Its out of the way for me, and would come back if I ever needed to. My 2 border collies came out clean and seemed happy. I was a little under nervous about leaving them in a new place. I only subtracted 1 star for the condition of the facility. I went into the back area with my little dog because she is very nervous and there was a strong smell of urine. Most of the back area seemed to be mostly brick walls with chain link fences from what I could see. Overall happy I was able to get them into a place where they were well taken care of. The pricing was fair in my opinion considering I normally board my dogs in Park City. I would be back if I didnt live in Summit Co.
very helpful for my animals.
This is a good kennel for a good price. I ve been taking my dogs here for years. No issues. One dog was senior and they would bring her in to rest when she had enough play time. I appreciated the personal attention she got.
Thank you for taking care of my Belle.. (Yep, you are right! Are the words that go very well together my Michelle
Great place! Such a life saver after somebody *cough cough unleashed* wait-listed my dog without telling me. Luckily I found these guys and they were able to take him with short notice! They were even able to give him the shots he needed. And not only did the clean the puppy before returning him but they also cleaned his blanket too. Wonderful place.
One star, and Im only leaving a one star because thats what you need to leave a review. Talk about a business that does not keep their word. We were given a price over the phone that we agreed upon for them to watch my 2 dogs, and after them being boarded for one night. Not only do I come back to a higher price we agreed upon, they also, proceed to tell me that my 2 dogs needed there K9 flu shots. I would definitely think twice before leaving your pups in this business.
I had been taking our dog there for 14 yrs. Always gave excellent care and grooming. Very compassionate care. Our pet had to be put down because of diabetes and seizures. They sent me flowers when that happened.
We bring our blind husky here, and although we were nervous because of his disability, the staff was accommodating and incredibly kind. He loves coming to daycare, and he attends all day twice a week. The employees love our dog, and we appreciate that this makes us stay up to date on his vaccinations. I would absolutely recommend bringing your animal here.
i was in the parking lot of this strip mall when i saw a light husky mix dog wandering around the parking lot. i noticed she had a paper medical band around her neck. i figured she belonged to the kennel, so i coaxed her into the kennel building and the lady behind the desk said that it is a dog that is staying there. she didn t seem to really care that the dog was out there and yelled at the dog to come back inside.
They were great taking care of my terrier mix. Friendly, professional staff. I definitely will use them again
I dropped in to inquire about the dog training option and was sorry to hear theyve had to put this feature on hold temporarily. Sounds to me theyre understaffed and overworked like many small businesses these days (post-covid). Those who complain about such petty grievances without taking into account the struggles that are collectively taking place at businesses all around us are unjustly condemning struggling businesses to the slaughterhouse. Complaints like They didnt open for 45 minutes so i LEFT! or They let a dog get out and werent excited when i brought him back! My favourite: it smells like Urine! Ew how gross! say nothing about the people, their values, mission or culture. Those reviews contain little detail, ZERO empathy, and ONE SIMPLE-MINDED OPINION! Problem is they have life-altering consequences. Maybe they ought to say what happened AFTER bringing it to somebodys attention!... or did they even try to do THAT much? BTW the receptionist was polite, friendly and helpful!
The staff here are friendly and loving to my puppy. I always feel he comes home well taken care of. I appreciate the customer service they provide via phone calls and in person.
The owner herself was very rude. Spewing profanities because she didnt get her way like a child. So unprofessional.
Owner prefers to communicate by screaming and using profanity. Unprofessional. I would not trust this company with your animals when it s being ran by management like that ..
The entire team at Brickyard Kennel does a fantastic job! I always know my dog will be cared for while I am away. They always greet us with warmth and enthusiasm, it makes such a difference when I need to board my dog. Thank you for all you do!
I posted an honest review of what happened to my dogs many years ago and yesterday the owner posted my phone number online as retribution. Pathetic. I don t know what is wrong with these people but so much for women and veteran owned . Just know they won t want your feedback.
We always leave our dogs here if we go on vacation and they are great to work with.
If I could give them zero stars, I would. Here to drop off dog at 7 a.m. No one here. There was another young man waiting , 2 cars drove up and another woman came with her dog. As of 745 a.m. , the 2 cars left, the young man had to get to work and called several other day cares without luck. The woman waiting with her dog volunteered to watch his dog so he could get to work and a job interview. I am leaving and will not wait any longer. 8/23/21: in retaliation for a 1 star review, my daughter s email address and phone number were posted for public view. I was the customer that day as my daughter is a nurse and started at 0700 so I dropped off her dog. A complaint with the BBB was filed not because the office opened late due to a car accident but because of wanting personal information removed. That is harassment.
My dog loves this place! Sometimes I think shed be happy to live there! I never worry about my dog when shes there. The care is wonderful.
These guys saved our lives. We had a dog for a week and she ran into some medical issues that made it impossible for her to travel with us. Brickyard was the ONLY place that we could find that could take her in her condition. She was there for 3.5 days and when we got back from our trip she was as good as new. They had given her more than we asked for and nursed our puppy back to health. I would take her there again in a second!! I picked my dog up freshly bathed and happy as could be! I called a couple of times during our trip and they gave great feedback on how our dog was doing. We will be forever grateful! Cant say thanks enough!! Rate was awesome, staff was excellent! Thank you thank you!!
THIS PLACE, THE PEOPLE ARE TRULY DOG LOVERS ON EVERY LEVEL! OUR DOG LOVES GOING THERE, HE HAS A WONDERFUL TIME, THEY TAKE SUCH GOOD CARE OF ALL THE DOGS! STILL NEED MORE CONVINCING, GO TOUR THEIR FACILITY, SAW HELLO TO, CHARLIE, THE MACAW, A TRULY AMAZING BIRD! THANK-YOU BRICKHARD! YOURE ALL ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
Been using Brickyard kennel for years. They always take excellent care of our Wasabi.
Very friendly environment. Staff is amazing.
I called and reserved boarding for two dogs over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I specifically asked for a price quote, which they provided. I showed up to pick up my dogs and the final bill was nearly double what was quoted. Not cool. When I pointed this out to the person at the desk, she was snippy with me and said all quotes are only estimates. I understand that, but this was significantly incorrect. They are either 1) incompetent staff or 2) misquoting as a bait and switch. I have no complaint about the care of my pets, however. Beware the price they quote you! Also, despite owner s very long reply below, they did NOT waive my late fees. That is a complete fabrication and I have the invoice to prove it. They even emailed me a copy of the receipt which clearly shows they still charged me all of the fees. The over defensiveness of the response is a red flag here. Beware!
My dog Buster is so well cared for by the staff and owner of Brickyard Kennel. He always comes back looking great and happy to see me. I know that he gets the medications, food and everything that I request. Thank you for the TLC BYK!!
Just came in with my Chihuahua had to have her nails clipped cost 12 bucks good service is kind. out in a matter of 10 minutes awesome thank you for everything
Reply to owner: I appreciate your reply even though it was two years later. This was absolutely Brickyard Kennel as we have the bills to prove it. It seems like your standard response to a negative review is to accuse the customer that they have the wrong kennel. We can t all be wrong. Again my experience was a 3 years ago but it absolutely happened as stated below. I can only hope that ownership has changed as well as their care of the dogs under their care. Original Post: Please do not leave your dog here. We talked to the owner before leaving our dog here during a family vacation. He said that if any dog got sick they would take them to the vet right next door. After a week gone we went to pick up or dog. She immediately started to cough when she got in the car. We took her to the vet and after $600+ of chest X-Ray and blood work we found out she not only had kennel cough but it had progressed to pneumonia. The vet said she most likely had been exhibiting symptoms for several day in order for her to get this bad. She was so dehydrated that she had lost 8lbs during her stay. She was given 1.5 liters of fluids, which is a lot, and sent home on 4 weeks on antibiotics. Brickyard kennel said nothing to us about our dog being ill when we picked her up, but they were happy to give us a bill. When we called to ask about what happened they were all extremely unhelpful or extremely defensive. I tried to give them the chance to make this right but they were not interested in accepting any responsibility. Please do yourself, your family and more importantly your pet, which is a member of your family, a favor and do not board your animals here!
We live over a thousand miles away, and needed help getting our dog to a safe place. After calling several kennels in the area, we were lucky to find Brickyard Kennel. They transported our dog, obtained a necessary vaccine, and provided loving care during her stay. When other arrangements failed, they worked with us to extend her stay, obtained a travel health certificate, obtained a kennel for her air flight home, and provided secure transportation for her to the airport. The owner and staff were in constant communication with us, and demonstrated compassionate care for our dog. Rarely, have we experienced this level of responsibility from a business. Our sincere thanks to everyone at Brickyard Kennel.
Daycare yes for boarding NO! Price is good and I like the doggy cam. The guy who met my dog was very patient and nice. My dog is protective of me. I am giving them 3 or would be less because they did not tell they close at 5 on Saturday. I told them I will get my dog at 5:30. They did not call me to see why I did not get a my dog... I had an emergency. If they called me to tell me they are closing I would have someone get me. If they simply took a small step of calling and checking to see when I will get my dog, I would recommed them to other or tipped them. When I got to the place (at 6pm Saturday) they did not have an emergency number or anyone in the place watching the dogs. So dog are a lone for 13+ hours in their cage! They cant use the bathroom for 13+ hours. No human in the building. Like what would you do if the place burned down. I would have give them 5 start if they just left a emergency number or if they at least called me.
First time. No problems. Groomer was a good listener and very kind.
WARNING!! If you love your pet then don t take them to Brickyard Kennel. When I picked up my dog she had bloody paws, poop all over and was deathly ill. She needed emergency care which cost me over $2,000. The owner could care less what my dog went through and took no accountability whatsoever. The place smells like urine too. DON T TRUST THESE PEOPLE.
The staff is super friendly. Our dogs are always excited to go here. They separate the big dogs and purse dogs. Youre also able to watch your pups thru an app for a small yearly fee. The dogs are supervised and have a staff member present in the play area.
I highly recommend this place. We left our baby Dutchess there for 5 days and when we picked her up and had her in the car already one of the girls that works there came all the way to the car to say bye to our dog. She told me that she had played with her and had a great time. Our dog was happy, fatter and she got a bath before heading home. Couldnt ask for more! Thank you!
Horrible place smells disgusting and the owner is insane anyone who puts down someone for a bad review shouldnt be in business you should use it to improve your business I really hope they get reported especially for the aggressive dog that has already killed to customers dogs and go a head and say you can find my info because obviously Im not using a real name so I dont get a horrible phone call from the owner like she does to every one else who leaves a bad review also look at there ratings they have more 1 stars then any other boarding place
Our dog Harley loves it here. She comes home much calmer after staying and interacting with the other dogs. We love the cameras so we can check in on her when were missing her. We can definitely tell she has been taken care of.
If you have an exotic pet, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! Their suite for exotic animals is a sad old mop closet with no windows that reeked of dog urine. The room itself is probably only 5 feet by 8 feet. It is tiny and so depressing. I immediately started tearing up at the thought of leaving my amazing bearded dragon and sweet cockatiel here. The door also had scratch marks on it which means that there were dogs that were housed in here. I wish I could have taken a photo of this awful room. If you have any standards, just take your exotic pets elsewhere. We did.
I liked the place and left feeling happy, the people were friendly, but after I left I noticed my dogs paws were black and torn up. He had a cut on his lip, but my dogs paws are sensitive and he might just have been playing, they told us they gave him a bath but his paws were blackened dirty and the bottom of his paw pads were torn up with skin visibly peeling in large chunks. There were some other problems that sound petty when put in print, suffice to say that we were less than awed. What really upsets me the most is the lack of honesty. I would have rather been told that they didnt have time to bathe my dog than tell me he had a bath and send him home filthy and torn up, but a lot of other review were good so it might just have been an isolated incident.
They were so caring and did a wonderful job of making our cat comfortable and she looks amazing! We have been 3x and will continue to work with them!
Great place for all animals. They offer daycare and boarding at great prices! Highly recommend!
Great place the owner and her staff are very friendly and love the animals
My wife and I left our dog here for 7 days while we took a Hawaiian vacation. We dont have kids...so our little dog is spoiled rotten and gets better treatment than most humans. My wife was a little apprehensive to put her precious baby in a kennel but the staff is extremely professional and caring. They have a little play area for the smaller dogs which was perfect for our dog. Of course our little dog was happy to see us when we picked him up but I could tell that he enjoyed hanging out with all the other pets.
NOT WORTH ONE STAR BE WARNED. Dont board your pet here. My Shih tzu was boarders there for a week while I was out of town. She came home traumatized she had been bit on her hear and she was very ill. Took her to our vet she had kennel cough. She has been vaccinated and had her booster to help prevent this. But if dogs share dirty water bowls and kennels are not sanitized and they allow other dogs in that are not up to date on their vaccines pets will get sick. I will never take my baby back there again.
our dog stayed at this kennel for 7 days. Ever since we brought him home he barks at everything. he goes outside and barks at everything. We cant get him to stop. The neighbors are complaining cause our dog now is a barking dog. Im going to the better business bureau on these people.
My dog seemed like he enjoyed his stay; but he did have to be boarded by himself because of how he is; no group play for him! I will use them again
A little dirty, but they love the animals.
I take my dog here for daycare 2-3 times a week for about 6 months. My dachshund is a rescue and has had anxiety issues around people since I first got her. Since Ive taken her to brickyard kennel, my dog is friendlier to everyone she meets. She will allow strangers to pet her. I really owe it to the staff at brickyard.
I used their day care services because they are down the street from my office and the prices were reasonable. The people were very sweet to my dog. He always came out happy and tired from playing!
This was our first experience with Brickyard Kennel. We were so impressed by the staff and the care our sweet puppy got! I would highly recommend this place for boarding and daycare. Very experienced and incredibly friendly. My puppy loved it!
Great place to board your dog!
Ive been bringing Miss Sadie Mae here for almost 5 years, and they do a wonderful job shaving her like a lion! I think she actually enjoys it, even though the staff might not - shes a little aggressive for a 6lb dog.
My dog and I have spent the last 14 years together and our experience at BYK has, by far, been the most remarkable weve had. As a busy, traveling businessman weve used the boarding services several times. The facilities are good, but the staff and ownership are really the asset that sets them above the rest. They know my pet, they care for/about her, they remember me and have always gone above the call of duty to take care of us. I recommend it to anyone who may be looking for a new pet care provider.
I have been boarding my dogs at Brickyard Kennel for a year or two. They always come back much calmer than other kennels I have used. Everyone I have dealt with there has been nice. I never worry while they are there and its nice to have them bathed before I pick them up.
This place should be called poopyard kennel. Its absolutely disgusting, and dirty.
I was worried about the mixed reviews on here I got my shitzu groomed here he is very aggressive when getting groomed and has had issues at other groomers they were very informative and really great with him he also stayed in doggy daycare and when I picked him up he was very calm and happy and didnt seam stressed like he has in the past I will be going back
DO NOT USE! Had to leave my babies there for month because of a situation. Worse mistake I made. My on dog not too bad but my one dog plastered with flea eggs and stuff deep into her skin. Cries when I try to scrap it off. Will never recommend!.
we had a new high energy rescue, they were so positive and helpful. they really are a great resource. daycare is very clean.
I do NOT recommend Brickyard Kennel. We sent our (3) dogs to stay there for 6 days while we were out of town. This is not an exaggerated review, this is exactly what happened. We dropped our dogs off and everything seemed like it would be fine. When we came to pick them up they all smelled quite bad, even though we had requested they all have baths. When I was saying hello to my 10 year old female lab mix I noticed a spot on her back that had matted hair. I looked a little closer and noticed she had a large scab that was oozing a white substance and bleeding. I was shocked because this dog is extremely friendly and never fought in her life. I asked the employees about it and they said they had no idea what happened. It was clear that her wound was a puncture wound and that it was infected. I asked to speak with the owner and they said she wasnt there, so I asked them politely to leave a message for her to call me since I was going to have to take my dog to the vet. They said there was no record of the wound and that they had no idea what happened. I was bothered, so I called again the next day and left another message for the owner. I called again a few days later and left another message. It has now been 2 weeks and she has not called me back. All I wanted was to know what happened to my dog. I even waited this long to write a review to give the owner the benefit of the doubt. Its clear she has no intention of calling me back, so now Im writing this review. BE WARNED: something happened to my dog at this kennel (she had to be on antibiotics and anti-inflams for 10 days), and the employees/owner dont even care enough to explain how she was injured. I know this kennel is trying to recover from bad reviews in the past. I guess nothing has changed.
My wife and I are having a baby in a few months and plan on boarding our dogs while were in the hospital. I had heard negative reviews about Brickyard Kennel but that they had recently cleaned up their act. We both had to go out of town for an evening and decided we would give Brickyard Kennel a try to see if wed feel comfortable leaving them there when the baby comes. I was told that our dogs would be able to play with other dogs for the majority of their stay. What we were told couldnt be farther from the truth. We used the camera service to keep an eye on the dogs and not once did we see any staff member interacting with them. The next day, when 9:30 rolled around and my wife hadnt seen any sign of the dogs she called in to Brickyard Kennel and was told that dogs went into their kennels at 4 PM on Friday and are only taken out again at 10 AM the next day. Thats right, they spend 18 hours in their kennels. My wife expressed her concern about them being left in their kennel for so long, and was told that our dogs would be brought out to play with the other dogs that came in for day care starting at 10:00. My wife kept an eye on them and they werent actually brought out to play with other dogs until close to noon. Im sorry but they would have been better off if we had just left them at home and had someone come play with them. Afterword my wife wrote the owner and expressed how disappointed and frustrated she was with our experience so that she could possible rectify the situation. We were surprised when the owner wrote my wife back and called her bitter and threatened to sue if we post any negative reviews about her business. Despite her threat to sue us, I feel that it is our duty inform other potential patrons so that they can know what type of service they might expect.
Recently had my cat there for a haircut- apparently she was difficult and was put in the cone of shame. The staff seemed surprised/displeased/annoyed at a cat acting like a cat (never been an issue anywhere else). Haircut was fine, but Im compelled to leave a dismal review given the treatment received from staff.
This is the only groomer we use for our cats. They always do the cuts just the way we want them and we have never had them nick our white one. Something that seems to happen every time we have taken them to other groomers. I wouldnt go anywhere else if I had a choice.
