Horrible management, store needs to be cleaned the sunglasses are literally all scratched and dusty. The manager lady is very rude to all customers and treated myself and my kids poorly. They need retraining and proper management or this place will not last

I took my daughter shopping today at Sierra for a girl's camp she has this coming week. As I'm checking out, out of habit, I asked: - Do you guys have a military discount? (In case you didn't know, my wife has been serving in the US Army for almost 20 years now.) - We do, let me get my manager... (manager walks over) - Hi, can I see your military ID? - Sure! Here it is. - Oh I'm so sorry, we only offer the discount to the actual member, not to the spouse. She'd have to come in person to make the purchase in order for us to honor it. - Really... hmmm... ok. Well, I guess she'll have to come later to get this when she's done with Drill. But just so we're clear... you're saying that my wife could be deployed on the other side of the world, and you still wouldn't honor your military discount? - Correct, that's our policy. You know, in no way am I trying to diminish the sacrifice of those who serve in the military. But let me tell you something, the spouses and the families of every single one of them, are also making a huge sacrifice. Now my wife may not be deployed at the moment, and she may not have been there in person, but she works pretty dang hard to serve not only us regular civilians, but every soldier in her and other units. She's a chaplain, and as such, she's on call every single day, because if a soldier happens to be in crisis, she will not hesitate to drop everything and be there for him/her. Just like her, every soldier sacrifices so much and plenty of their time and life for this country, and so do their families, specially their spouses when suddenly they see themselves raising their kids as a single parent while their husband/wife is on active duty. Sierra, you could've told me "Sorry, we don't offer a military discount" and you know what, that would've been totally fine. I don't expect people or businesses to offer it and I'm not upset if they don't, likewise I don't care if it's 2%, 10%, 20%, or 40%, I'm grateful anyways. But when your policy excludes their families if the military member is not present, you're excluding the service member as well. For the record, I didn't wait for my wife to stop by later. I made the purchase anyways, without your 10% discount. I'm not going to waste her time. You may have not lost that purchase, but you've for sure lost any of my future business…
Witnessed an absolute fail today on the part of management. A man was shopping with his daughter and asked if they offered a military discount. They said yes, he handed them is USID ID (he was the spouse of the service member) and they said SHE had to come purchase it to get the discount. The service member was at drill and couldn’t come. The manager made no attempt to accommodate the spouse. It was over a lousy 10% discount so like $7. Why are we supporting businesses that don’t support our community. Service members families sacrifice as much as the soldiers. Even if this is their policy it’s a lousy one and lacked any human compassion. Take your business elsewhere.
Buyer beware. Sierra will not return items, even if defective. I bought a mountain bike for my son at this Riverton location. We went for a bike ride and I could hear the gears grinding and wouldn’t engage in the high gears. I made adjustments to the derailleurs screws with now success to improve the grinding. Best part of this conversation with the manager, she said with returns, they put the item back on the floor to be sold. Yes, this includes defective products. A company that puts defective items will no longer have my business. I took the bike back to the Riverton location and the manager said if the bike was used (even one time), they refused the return. They don’t allow any tested riding prior to purchase so you don’t know how the bike will be upon riding. I then called the Sierra support and the agent said if I could provide video evidence of the defect, they would refund the price. I provided this evidence and then the support rep said they wouldn’t refund and I would need to reach out to the manufacturer. This company does not stand behind their product and I will be telling all about this to seek out a higher quality merchandise elsewhere.
This is like the outdoorsy version of Ross / TJ Max. Selection was awesome. Prices were legit and the check out line was high tech. Great place to find gifts for your outdoorsy loved ones.
Just amazing all the time I wish it was cheaper but prices are pretty great compared to MSRP stores... So many fun shoes and less expensive than Nordstrom rack 👍🏽
I always enjoy shopping at Sierra. They have a wide assortment of things that interest both myself and my wife, including camping, sports, pet items, toys, hygiene, snacks, shoes, and clothes. A lot of it is good quality, and unique items that arent found at similar stores. Give it a look. Youll love it.

Terrible experience. Bought a suitcase, got it home to findout the zipper on the expandable part is broken, go to exchange and am told they cannot, has to be in new condition? It is in the condition they sold it! It is what it is, I should have known better, I was in a jam and they were close by, I wont be back.

Really enjoyed coming to this Sierra store, every time we come by, we have seen a great selections of goods at fraction of the price that are not available on their online store-things that I didn t think I needed. It s like treasure hunting, you never know what you are going to find.
I like this store.... The prices and quality of the clothes are good, especially if you arrive in the middle of winter and you have to buy coats.... This store is an option!
I was slightly disappointed in how messy the store was. It seemed like the organization was haphazard at best. For example, we found the exact same product (a camping utensil) in three different parts of the store, not hung up or displayed, just out on a shelf, helter-skelter.

This store used to be the best. Now, they just sell knock off Merrells and dont have any new shoes. Everything is on sale. Sad, another department store on its way out.

I miss the old Sierra trading. Since they merged with TJ Max, it s no longer a treasure hunt. The selection and quality is not there and the isles are packed with junk. What a disappointment.
Won t accept returns of their own broken merchandise even with a receipt. Spoke with the manager and she was rude and unhelpful. Save yourself the headache shop at REI for the little extra you pay there you actually get quality items and a company that values it s customers.
Great outdoor products at low prices
This has to be one of my most favorite clothing stores. I walked in there looking for rain jackets and was pleasantly surprised at the selection of everything they had. All were amazing prices, well below going to any other stores like Kohls. While not as big of a footprint as their competitors, it had good selection at great prices.
I was able to find some really great deals here! I love the variety and that Ji can always find something I need or want.
I have recently discovered this store. After 5 visits, Ive had a great interaction with multiple different employees. They are all very friendly and helpful in answering my questions. This place is pretty good with its prices all of the clothing even the shoes are good quality they even have a spot for dog stuff and an even smaller stuff for home decor. The employees I met were all nice and act like they care.

Recently bought shoes here. I get that it s a business and people often try to take advantage of businesses, but my most recent experience made me never want to purchase anything at Sierra. In case the shoes didn t fit well (ordered online and shipped to store), I asked what the return policy was. Got the typical return time period AND that they had to be unworn. I said, that s fine, I ll try them on in my house and not go outside . Store clerk said that even if they were worn inside more than just trying them on would disqualify them to be returned. Due to the poor customer service and ridiculous return policy, it will be worth spending a little more at different stores and not have the threat of not being able to return shoes that had been walked around inside to make sure they fit.
Very poor customer support from Weisha the store manager. I purchased over $300 in gear and she wouldnt return cash to me when I had to make a partial return a couple days later. I had all the receipts and she still claimed she was unable to return the credit to my CC. Theft this is very disappointing because I have been a long time customer of Sierra trading. Basically I drove across town to another Sierra Trading and bingo, the store manager solved my problem. So it may well be an issue with lack of training or just plain old poor customer service. If I was the store owner, Id take notice.

Today was my first time into Sierra, and I was very impressed. High quality items at great prices, lots of variety for brands and sizes and got a pair of Hey Dude shoes at $35. I have a size 14 foot so finding shoes at discount stores is near impossible so I was very pleasantly surprised. Will definitely be back to shop more.

Really neat store. I never really knew what this store was until I stumbled across it. Tons of awesome name brands for killer prices. Ive bought mens Hurley shirts for $10, Roxy toddler flip flops for $7, super fun yard pong for $20, mens adidas shorts for $20, plus a ton of other miscellaneous things. They have so much. Clothes, swimwear, kids toys, shoes, everything you could need for your pups, candles, beauty stuff, home stuff, outdoor rec stuff, backpacks, luggage, skateboards. Definitely stop into this spot so you can at least get a good look around to see all they offer. This has become a go to spot anytime I need to find a gift or just want to browse some good deals.

Like some people have summed up perfectly, this is like a TJ Maxx or Ross but more camping oriented... and they have a section with suitcases... and a section with animal supplies... and a section with outdoorsy home decor??? What a strange store. Wasnt at all what I expected. I admittedly did find a $30 Black Diamond headlamp on clearance for $15, so there are some decent deals, but I cant see myself seeking this place out again in the future. Lots of strange vibes, and the odd personality of the guy who checked me out was just the icing on the cake.

Went to surprise my son and get him some new work shoes today with the last $50 I had left since he complained that his current shoes hurt his feet midway through his work shift. Excited to give him his new shoes.. for some reason, even though all of his other shoes are a size 10, the size 10 sketchers were too small. So I hurried back to the store to exchange them.. and fortunately enough they had a 10 and a half in the same shoe! So I brought both pair up front to quickly exchange the two.. and to my disappointment the young woman smiled and said they do not do exchanges and the refund would take two to 3 days for me to get my refund. She then asked would I like to purchase the larger size. I said so, I cant get new shoes for my son because you cant do exchanges like every other store? She said unfortunately we cant, with a smile. Luckily, I remembered I had funds available on one of my credit cards and was forced to buy the second pair because they dont exchange. Really embarrassing, why do we tolerate store policies that do not benefit those of us that keep them in business? I wont be back.
I love this place. There are a lot of different things from cosmetics and toys to fishing tools and pools. And it is never too crowded.

Unfortunately I can t give a good review for this location. Spent $25 on a pair of boots for our daughter. Put them on and she walked around for a few minutes then we noticed that they were the same feet. Brought them back to exchange 1 of the left foots for the right foot. They wouldn t exchange. Kept saying unfortunately they can t. It was very unfortunate that they sold us the wrong shoes then told us we should have looked at them before putting them on. Not trying to get a refund just an exchange for the correct item. Loved this store and most of the products but manager and staff need to learn customer service!! Wasn t a return like they kept saying and was tired of what unfortunately they couldn t do.

I m so disappointed with my experience shopping here. If I could leave a negative review I would. I bought a pair of shorts and a shirt but was unable to try them on at the store due to COVID, which is understandable. However, they ended up not working out so I went back to return them. The girls at the front desk didn t seem to know how to do returns but we finally got it figured out and I asked for my receipt. It has now been about 3 weeks and I have not gotten my money back. They now have my money and the merchandise I purchased, which does not seem fair. I normally do not post reviews however I feel like everyone should know what to expect when shopping here. Incredibly disappointed and have received no help.
Terrible customer service. They didnt have the 3 items that online said they had in stock. I had to ask 4 people to finally get anyone to try and help. After giving up I had found a pair of pants on sale so I waschecking out, they wouldnt even honor the price tag on the pants. Walked out with nothing. I would suggest you go to any of the other sporting goods stores near by.
Returned items over three weeks ago and still dont have the money back on my card. When into the store a week ago and they said they are aware of the issue, but there is nothing they can do and to just keep waiting. At this point I dont think Ill see the $50 again, but want to warn others.
Cannot seem to get my return money back. Had to go dispute it at my bank. Still waiting on over $60 that is owed. Oh, and they wont let you try on clothing, due to Covid, which is a farce. Does the flu virus linger in changing rooms? I guess we can shop and browse and touch their products, but heaven forbid you try them on because....Covid. Anyone else tired of the senseless and arbitrary rules that we are told keep us safe? Get back into reality please.
Don t do ship to store . I shipped a pair of pants here and came to pick them up once they sent me the notification that they were available. I get there and they say they don t actually have them and to come back next week. I asked if they could just ship them to me for free since I already made the drive once. They said no, and that I d have to pay for shipping. If the mistake is on them, they could at least offer free shipping to make it right.
My wife and I went here and we were shocked at how awesome it was! They have a ton of awesome clothes with great prices. They also have various other items such as unique dog toys made in the USA. The employees were very kind and it was a great experience! Highly recommend!

This was a good place to shop. I would say comparable to Ross, but 2 steps up. They have some great hiking equipment, home decor and so much stock. I left with some nice pieces of clothing. Only thing is the layout, its a little confusing to get around the store and find your sizing.

I like their selection of t-shirts, shoes, shorts, and when they have it, cycling gear. Their pant selection for men is seriously lacking. Unfortunately, Sierra Trading Post no longer sends out coupons via email which is a real bummer. I love having an STP near my work and enjoy browsing their clean, well stocked store during my lunch breaks.

Returned items on 12/5/21 as stated on my receipt. It is 12/11/21 and still no credit back to my card. Guess I will have to file a dispute. Completely not okay.
I love shopping at Sierra. They have a good selection at great prices. However, the customer service is terrible. I called to verify their hours and the employee told me 8-10. I arrived at 9:45 to grab some winter gloves and they were already closed. Disappointing that they closed early and lied to me on the phone.
Based upon about 5 different trips to this store, here are my thoughts. For being marketed as an outdoor store, they sure sell a lot of home and pet stuff. Although owned by TJ Maxx (a personal fav of mine) Sierra somehow doesn t share the same type of cashier system. In short - returns are a pain in the arse and if you don t have the literal receipt, you re kinda screwed. I ve yet to have a store associate be helpful or show any customer service skills. My last visit I was in the store Christmas shopping for well over an hour (and was one of the only customers) and no one ever asked me if I needed help with anything. That was, Until they gave a reminder that they d be closing in 15 minutes; and then somehow magically I had a store associate come ask me what I needed help with two different times in less than five minutes. Overall I feel like this is much more like a traditional home decor and clothing apparel store than a general outdoor outfitters type of store. Prices aren t that great and some very standard outdoor equipment has been non-existent or very sparse (hydration packs, hammocks). I expect better from a TJ Maxx store, and unfortunately this store doesn t deliver.

I bought a few items here. When we were checking out I put in my card and it said it went though but a receipt didn t print out. The associate said that it didn t go through so we did the transaction again on another till. When I got home I saw that I got charged twice. I went into the store to get a refund but they said I would have to call customer support. After I was finally able to reach customer support they told me the store was suppose to refund me there and they could not do anything to help. I called the store and they said they would get back to me. I have a feeling I m out $50 and won t be getting a call back :(
