The haircut was decent, but they glued very ugly bedazzled bows on our dogs head that we had to cut off. I can t believe they did something so awful and hideous without even asking us. We are never going back.

I drive from Springville to take my cat, Hoops, to be groomed by Becca! She does an outstanding job every time we go to her. Hoops has a tendency to be aggressive at the groomers and Becca continues to show us patience, kindness, and always keeps Hoops looking his best! The staff here is so nice and always flexible when needing to make appointment changes. There is nobody else I would recommend if you re needing your cat to be groomed. We have been a client for over a few years now and looking forward to more! Big Shout to these guys! Wouldn t recommend any other pet salon!

Overpriced and poor quality groom for extra add on prices. We have pure bred dogs and asked if they have groomed this breed before, once we got our dog back we knew they had no idea what they were doing with the breed. Will not repeat, still looking for a new quality groomer but this isn t the place.

Was recommending by a neighbor. Sabrina did a great job with Maisee my 10 year old doodle, Maisee is a bit anxious and likes to lay down on the grooming table. Staff who answered phone suggested I come in on a day where there was just Sabrina and it worked out great- Maisee came home relaxed and happy - looking short and spiffy and smelling good - nails trimmed ears plucked whole nine yards. My dog is very uncool around other dogs and has a lot of hangups that make it hard for her to be accepted in any salons. These guys went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable and safe, and by above and beyond I mean really above and beyond. They also took the slow route to keep her calm and happy. 100/10 would go again and recommend

I have been taking my doodles to A Cut Above for years and they always take such good care of my pups! They do a wonderful job and I highly recommend!

I had used A Cut Above happily for years. The last 2 visits, they ve stated issues completing grooming (after I ve paid and tipped). My dog s cut is uneven w/ sections that are clearly missed (last time they missed a patch right under his tail, this time a few different sections on his back and legs). Wondering if their newer staff is less trained or if their grooming environment is different/difficult for dogs now. They have also raised prices (several times over the past few yrs) and charge extra for basics (including paying w/ anything other than cash).

I ve gone here for over 5 years. I ve taken dogs and cats. Recently I ve only been taking my 2 cats. About 2 years ago I had my dog follow one of their groomers who went out on her own. That groomer was amazing and so kind and good with my doodle. She unfortunately moved so I decided to take him back to A-Cut Above. When I called to make my appointment I told the receptionist that it had been about 2 years since he had been to their salon and my dog was a little sensitive and asked if there was someone who specializes in doodles or dogs with a little higher anxiety during grooming. She told me the owner does a great job and is great with dogs who get a little nervous during grooming. I asked if he was still $90 and she informed me they had raised the price to $100. I ok d it and made the appointment. His appointment was at noon. I was used to about a 2.5 hour appointment. I called around 3:00pm to check his status, they told me they were running behind and would need an extra 30 minutes and to come at 4:30. I show up at 4:30 and they informed me they needed 20 more minutes. I was ok to wait. I gave them 25 minutes went back in to pay. The groomer was finishing up and the receptionist informed me my bill was $145 when paying with Venmo (that was a cash discount and no tip included). I asked why it was so much more when they quoted me $100 over the phone when making my appointment. She explained there was a fee for his size (he s been full grown for awhile- he s 8) so not sure where that new fee came from? I also picked a length of clipper that was an extra $22- also never told me this when dropping him off. As I m expressing a little concern that this seems a little high and not really fully disclosed, the receptionist walks in the back to talk to the owner/groomer (doors open) I hear the owner in the back say, his dog was pretty bad, I don t even care if he comes back and he s complaining about pricing. I was a bit shocked. The receptionist told me they would discount the $22 fee to $11 fee. I felt that was a terrible solution but paid it anyway. Before leaving I told the receptionist that I overheard that comment in the back and this would be the last time I bring any of my animals back to this establishment. I m pretty sure these are the new owners and it s just not the same. I d highly consider going elsewhere. It s too bad because they can give a good haircut, but with that attitude and expensive fees it s definitely not worth it!

Edit: theyve completely disappointed me after the change in management. They have lost a customer in one day. Ive been a loyal customer here for ages and even when their management changed and the shampoo started to give one of my dogs a rash whenever she went(even after spending the extra 25 dollars for hypoallergenic shampoo) i still went. Today i was surprised with a call at 12:15 saying my dogs had an appointment at 12 saying id be charged a $20 no show fee if i got there later than 12:30. I received no reminder text like usual even though i should have expected that since it was also down the last time. The lady on the phone expressed nothing she can do about it and had told me a groomer had called me prior to ask if i could drop them off earlier. No such call was made and no voicemail or text existed. I did my best to get them there by 12:30 to avoid the no-show fee just as she had said on the phone. The lady at the front started to go over what i wanted the cut to look like per usual and already being upset from prior i asked before that will i get a no show fee? She moseyed on to the back to ask and spent an usually long time there taking into consideration that they could have just checked the time. I just wanted it notated if not so i had proof or if there was i would pay it then and then leave. After all, its for no-shows. She came back informing me that the groomers no longer have time to do my two dogs. I asked why she said its because Im 30 minutes late. I told her the lady on the phone told me to come in and if they didnt have time i would have just stayed home and not wasted the gas and time etc for nothing. I could have paid the fee over the phone and be done with it all. I asked her how 30 minutes was even a factor as it takes at least 2 hours to do my dogs most days. How would you possibly finish two dogs in 30 minutes. She said they couldnt. Then she tried to say its because another customer is coming in at 12:30....how does that answer why they suddenly no longer have time? If they didnt want to work 30 minutes over their normal shift they could have informed me that they would no longer take my dogs that day and save me the time of even going in. I told her Im no longer going there anymore and left. How aggravating and disrespectful. I ve had a lot of experiences with them. They are good people that seem to really enjoy Dogs. The prices are okay and they seem to take good care of them.

I have two shih tzus and they always come away from their grooming with the right hair cut and smelling so fresh. They are so nice to me as well.

They always did a very, very, very good job and never nicked my dog. However, you do pay a premium for the service. At 120 bucks for a 65 lb dog it does run quite expensive.

The owner was there when I dropped off my pup. She was very friendly and accommodating.

Super nice groomers, really professional business, they made my cat look amazing and she is so happy!

Recently switch owners...not happy anymore. Some groomers previous didnt do a good job--coming back with unbalance cuts and poor afterwash. This time it is worse, prices have gone up and customer service not the best. I am disappointed, was a customer for 3 years. Going to DOGMODE!! I hear they are much better.

They did such a good job with our two doodles - one who is super anxious & the other who gets into everything at home so his coat is always a matted mess by the time we get him groomed. So happy with their cuts. A few tips - schedule early & if you have the option to bring cash, do so. They add the 3.5% to any other form of payment.

We have brought our Bordoodle to A Cut Above for all his grooming. The are easy to reach, friendly over the phone and in person and Benji is beautifully taken care of and groomed. I would recommend them with 5 stars.

They did a great job with our Cocker Spaniel. She is not comfortable with strangers but she did very well with her groomer there. We will definitely be returning.

When we first adopted our cat, he was matted and had a lot of overgrown knots in his fur. We brought him to A Cut Above for a lion cut and it turned out great! Our cat was happy and felt so much better after he was groomed. Highly recommend for pet owners looking for a reputable cat groomer.

This place s quality of service has declined BIG time since late 2019 and prices have also increased substantially (Our 3rd time going there in 18 months). They did not listen to our instructions at all and our dog returned home with her hair cut WAY too short. Our dog was also stressed and extremely thirsty after being there today. We will not do business with this groomer again.

My goldendoodle came home yesterday with the worst grooming I have had on a dog in 40 years. Her stomach has longer hair than any place on her body. Instead of a teddy bare cut on her face it has been hacked at and is short with all different lengths her ears have different lengths are well as her head. Her chest has a place where it is cut shorter. It says on the door we do not accept cash and you must pay over the phone by card. When they called they had upped there price by $10 and added a 3% charge for a card. Which would have been fine had they notifed me of the change. I will not go there again and most of my neighbors have changed groomers also. Be careful of there groomers my dog had severe razor burn on her neck. could not wear a collar for a week. When they were trying clip her back pads they shreaded between her pads had to to her to vet infection.

I made my appointment with them 2 weeks ago and they just called me this morning to say they scheduled me on a day they were closed. Not sure how they made me feel like it was my fault for that since they offered that day and time. They offered me another day which I couldnt do because I work Monday to Friday 8 to 5 so I have no way of picking her up on time. Which is why I scheduled for a Saturday to begin with. The lady on the phone did not even care the next appt after that was a whole month away.... Ive already been waiting a month for my orginal appointment. Instead of trying to work with me further she just hung up on me.

Terrible customer service and a total rip off. They charged me $55.00 to have my dog so called groomed without even giving him a haircut. They would not even talk to me why they charged me so much. They are out to make money and do not really cut the dog s hair, they just want you to come back in 3 weeks to get charged an outrageous amount for little grooming. I will NEVER take my dog to the Cut Above on 3300 south EVER again. They are just a greedy money making operation and do not care about animals.

Utah Saint Bernard in 100+ degree summer! They gave her a belly cut that is well disguised and trimmed everything else nicely. She was happy when I picked her up, and this how she abuses me! An expensive spa day and she comes home and lays in the dirt.

I took my cat to be groomed for the first time. She was super matted and needed a shave. Miranda made her look so cute! And kitty didn t seem nervous or anxious when I picked her up. I definitely recommend!

The staff were so welcoming and friendly. My puppy got a full groom today and they did a fantastic job. This especially means a lot to me because my normally sweet puppy can be a terror when getting groomed. She thrashes and growls so I know the groomer had her work cut out for her. But she was endlessly patient, offered tons of positive reinforcement, and gave me tips on how to help my dog at home so she can be more comfortable for future visits. SO grateful to these guys, and would definitely go back.

My Bernese, 85lbs can be a naughty boy sometimes when at the groomers. But A Cut Above always takes care of him and he always looks great. Thanks!! Positive

I took my cat in to be shampooed and nails done.1/2 hr later they called to come and get her. I took her home and realized she hadnt been touched. Called and complained. they said bring her back. So I did and before I was out of their place they called me to come and get her. I was right there and questioned them and they said oh we dont bath them in the winter, you will have to see a vet. We only brush them.I can do that.

My wooly husky blows out his undercoat a couple of times a year. They always do an amazing job of helping de-shed him.

Fantastic personnel. They were absolutely amazing with our 135 lb Bordeaux/Great Dane. They loved him and he loved being there! His toenails were done very well. He was clean, soft and smelled great! Their service and services were top notch! The only thing I will say, is that they are very expensive. $158 after tip. So, if you don t mind paying the extra money for that level of service, this place is definitely for you. For us it will probably have to be a once in a while deal. But I can not say enough positive about the staff!

I have a pekingese who is usually hard to handle and other groomers I have taken him to said they couldnt even get him done but they were able to give him the PERFECT groom which I honestly wasnt even expecting but they did it. BEST GROOMER EVER!

My long haired cat needed a shave and they took care of him quickly and with no issues. Highly recommend this place! The service was friendly and professional as well, good vibe all around.

They are slightly more expensive than other places Ive been for my Irish Setter/Poodle mix. But Ive been impressed with the quality so its worth it. When we came in the second time the staff member had the paperwork from the first grooming session in her hand so she could compare notes from last time to what we wanted this time. My dog smells nice but not overpoweringly so, and there are no awkward transitions. There are a couple of places that I wish her face was trimmed differently (to my taste), so Ill make sure to be more specific next time and adjust this review accordingly. COVID19 precautions seem to be: Masks required, at least everyone I could see, and limiting the number of customers in their lobby. I enjoyed the report card about my dogs behavior and condition of her teeth/ears/skin/etc.

Weve taken our dog to several different places for grooming, and he always used to totally freak out. Some of those places refused to take him a second time because he would cry and shake and try to escape all day. It broke my heart! When we found this place, the employees handled him calmly and gently, and now he doesnt mind grooming day. It made an immediate, night-and-day difference. He always looks great when we pick him up and, most importantly, hes not frantic and frazzled (which makes me feel SO much better). They are so sweet with the animals and good at keeping them calm, which is always worth an extra 5-10 bucks for me! Love this place, would never go anywhere else. Tip these lovely groomers well!

This was our first visit here and we were very impressed! Their price is similar to or better than any other groomer we called. Our dog is a puppy and had never been groomed before, so they had the groomer come out to make sure they could do a full groom on him. She was super sweet with him and did a fantastic job! He looked like a completely different pup! We will definitely be back if theyll have us!

My daughter took our dog in for a trim around her eyes and a sani trim. Our dog had a pony on her head because that s how she wears it. All they did was wack the ponytail of and didn t do and did not trim her private area at all. They refused to fix or do anything about it until the next week. They suggest I bring my dog for the manager to see it. I can t miss work to take care of that. This place is a joke. I m never coming back. Just terrible.

First groom for our pup and after researching this was in our top 3 places. They were quick to call back (on a holiday) and got us in quickly on a cancellation. I tried to be as specific as possible, brought pictures, and explained our goal. Gay walked me through every step and the day went exactly as she indicated. I was pleased with how Jasmine looked when I picked her up. They did exactly what I asked for and she seemed super happy and wasn t scared at all! We had a great experience and rebooked for a second appointment in 8 weeks!

I was nervous going t any groomer for the first time. Nevertheless this place exceeded my expectations. The staff was fast and friendly and they got me in with not a lot of notice. I ll definitely be back.

This is the second time I ve gotten my little Maltese mix groomed here and I ve been pleased with the results both times. It s never easy to leave your dog with strangers but they made me feel at ease. The first time i brought her in the lady at the front desk was very sweet and I felt like I was listened to when I explained that my dog was a rescue and had some fear issues we were still working through. Both times I ve picked her up and was told she was well behaved and the staff had no outstanding issues with her. She clearly has felt safe, and being that she s my little rescue that s huge for me. If I continue to feel like they treat my little rescue s fear issues with respect then i will continue to come back.

They always do a good job

They are great groomers! They are so kind and sweet with my dogs. They have superior, healthy natural grooming products. I take my Puggle (Pug-Beagle), and a pug regularly to be shaved and groomed and used to take a black lab too. Theyve been great with all 3 dogs...and some of our dogs are pretty nervous, and they were so loving with them. Highly recommend.

Always very good with my dog. Clean and well organized look. Very professional. This is definitely a great place to take your dog or cat.

I took my dog Luna, She is a half husky half German shepherd mix. Luna had never been groomed before bringing her here. I was very hesitant to do so because 1. she had never been groomed and 2. because she was attacked by a pitbull about 2 years ago and sense then she has been very scared and slightly aggressive to other dogs. My biggest fear was that she would attack another dog in the salon. Soon after arriving at A Cut Above Pet Salon for our appointment, my worries quickly went away with how they handled my dog. She behaved better with the groomers then with me! I was shocked!! When I picked her up from her appointment they told me she did fantastic and they worked with her a little as well with the other dogs, she was very calm and looked AMAZING!! I had never seen her coat so smooth and teeth so clean! I would recommend this location to anyone!!! The staff and owner Jessica are awesome!! THANK YOU!

Ive been taking my cavalier king charles here for years. They do a great job and always listen to my requests.

Ive been to this salon before with my dog with OK results. I have several complaints regarding my most recent visit. #1. They rushed my dog through because he was hyper, and said they finished him after about an hour. He was not finished, he was still wet and had not had his coat blown out (which is a service I PAID for). #2. They had me pay before bringing him out and did not mention any of the incomplete issues except that they needed time to finish his front nails while I waited. I told them it wasnt necessary if they were having problems keeping him calm. I felt rushed out the door by them. When I mentioned that he was still wet and his coat was not cleaned up, they offered to use the hair dryer on him while I waited (Id already been waiting). I decided to decline and took him to bob dogs instead to do it myself. #3. I paid $64. This is high, especially in consideration of other groomers Ive been to, ranging from $30-$45. #4. They cut right past his nail and said absolutely NOTHING to me about it. The nail next to it was cracked by them as well. I discovered this as soon as I arrived home. #5. I called them to complain and was given lip service and many oh Im sorry. They injured my dog and Im still pissed. HE is REGULARLY groomed by another groomer on Highland Drive, once a month. He is accustomed to being groomed. This is not the fault of a young dog. He is very obedient and his energy is easily redirected. I cannot recommend this place whatsoever.

I absolutely love this pet salon! They do such an amazing job with my cat Chubba, she is a 14 lbs Main Coon; long hair . They always do such a great job with her and her lion cut always turns out fabulous! The staff here is very friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I would recommend bringing your pet here if you are looking for a place you know will take care of your pet as if they were their own.

Extra charge if your pet are not that obedient

I just picked up my dog from A Cut Above in Millcreek and will not be going back, not even for the free touch ups. Right when I walked in, the front desk asked me if my dog has ever been groomed before, because he was very difficult and took a lot of time. I was in complete awe, because my dog is 7 years old and has been groomed every two months since he was a puppy. I always ask how he was during the grooming and every single groomer has stated he he is a gem, absolutely perfect, calm and well-behaved, & that he loves to smile during the trimming. NEVER have they said he was too hyper or difficult! The front desk said she would bring out the groomer so I can ask really what happened, because I was in shock and a little scared for what my dog just went through to make him so anxious. The lady that walked out from the back grooming area said she was the head groomer (did not catch her name). She just relayed the same story the front desk said and tried to reassure me that with proper training my dog might do well with grooming! At that point I really dived into questioning what is going on behind the doors in the grooming salon. She kept telling me that the way she is grooming the dogs is the proper way and other salons are most likely holding my dog down to get the job done! I could not believe this, I have seen my dog groomed before and he is perfectly content and calm with all aspects of being groomed. I kept on with my question to why did my dog not feel comfortable back there, they answered with my dog is very hyper and they wanted to focus on training him. I felt like I was not getting anywhere and regret not asking to see the grooming salon. Now that I have posted this I have seem a couple other comments where people have noticed the same reaction from their dog at this salon. I was excited this salon was so convenient located, but I will continue to go back to my groomer right off of the foothills.

This was my first time taking my two little dogs to Cut Above. I found the experience to be very pleasant and professional. The staff was courteous and they seemed to treat my dogs well. The grooming was excellent and my dogs seemed calm when I picked them up. As long as I receive these experiences with Cut Above, I will continue with the grooming at Cut Above. The reason for the 4-Star Review, this was my first experience with the groomers, if I receive the continual experience each time, it will definitely be a 5-Star Review.

Availability was good. Prices were good. They did a good job grooming my very large lab and he was happy and strutting when I picked him up. The only reason its not 5 stars is the lady when I dropped him off kept trying to get me to do teeth cleaning and was a little condescending that I was choosing not to. I get the cross selling but when I politely decline, just let it go. Otherwise they did a good job and I had a happy dog at pickup

We have a large golden retriever and its been hard to find a place who is gentle with big dogs. The cut above has always done an awesome job grooming him.

I take my dogs here often for grooming. My Golden retriever gets his summer cut here. They do a great job making sure his coat is healthy.I take my min pin/chijuaja mix here often for her grooming. She always looks amazing when I pick her up. Better yet, she seems happier after being groomed. The location is ideal. The staff is friendly and professional. I appreciate the services they offer.

This place is the best! Lynn and all of the other groomers are fantastic! I know when I take my fur baby here that he will be well taken care of. His nails are done perfect and not cut super short like other places tend to do. His fur feels like a new pups, super soft and clean. When I pick him, he doesnt act all moody when I pick him up from other places. I have watched these groomers work and they are top notch. Super kind to the dogs and to a fantastic job. GREAT WORK LYNN!

They treat our dog great, they discovered she had an ear infection early.

I have taken both my cats (yes, two of them) for grooming at A Cut Above twice, and both times Ive been extremely happy. They are always incredibly accommodating with their scheduling--its so nice to be able to get in within a week of calling. The first time, they got me in the same day! And I can pick them up in just a few hours; I used to wait almost all day at the previous place I went. I get both of my long-haired cats shaved to decrease any matting issues and for cleanliness, and they always look fantastic. I plan on continuing to use them!

The care exhibited by the staff at A Cut Above was exceptional. In the past, our dog has not let anyone touch his feet, so his nails had grown long. He has also had a hard time with grooming in the past, but they were able to accomplish both, grooming and nail grinding. Would recommend to anyone.

This salon has a great team; from the owner on down to the receptionist. They are caring and always show my dogs great love and attention. The text reminders of appointments and reminder phone calls are so helpful. The facility is always clean and is very spacious. I absolutely love the teeth treatment that they have. Gives your pet fabulous breath and teeth with no tarter.

Experienced, trustworthy and caring, A Cut Above in east Millcreek is the place I take my dogs. They worked really hard with my timid, scard little puppy. Competitively priced with free sanitation clips in between, A Cut Above are not just dog groomers, they love dogs!!!

I visited A Cut Above for the first time last month and was VERY happy! They asked relevant questions about my dog and explained the various options they provide. She was gorgeous when I picked her up! And the staff was so nice. Will definitely be returning!

I have taken all three of my dogs to A Cut Above, I love taking them there and more important they enjoy going there. They dont whine and fuss the way they have when I have taken them to other places to be groomed. The groomers are great about doing the cut I want and keeping my dogs in tip top shape. I highly recommend giving A Cut Above Pet Salon a try for your next pet grooming experience.

Our two Scotties are always well taken care of. It is easy to make an appointment and they always text to remind me. Our vet is always amazed at how well their teeth and gums look. It is because of the work don at A Cut Above that helps them not have to have deep cleanings at the vet.

I have been taking my dog to a Cut Above for many years. The love and care they show to the animals is wonderful. My poodle is 15-years old and has a few issues. They take extra care when grooming her. The staff is friendly and helpful and do an excellent job!

Nice enough but did a terrible grooming job. My dog looked like he got in a fight with the lawn mower.

I took my Pomeranian and my Papillon to A Cut Above because I heard good things from a friend of mine that they do well with nervous dogs, and both of my dogs are always terrified of getting groomed. This was their best experience. The staff was amazing and so kind to my dogs. They got the best hair cut; so much cleaner and cuter than PetCo ever did. The teeth cleaning was an extra $40 and it was worth so much more than that! I was a little reluctant to add that on to the price but it is almost as good as the $360 cleaning the vet does. Really, the staff was so patient and informing and did such a wonderful job. I wish I would have known about this place sooner. PetCo got the job done, but A Cut Above seriously did such an amazing job and my dogs had such a better experience. I will be a customer here for life.

These hot chicks not only hooked up my dog with a Mohawk, they cleaned its teeth and taught em to speak English, and walk backwards ..! Worth the money in my book...word ..!
