Not the JCPENNEY of old. Intimates are very slim hardly an selection. This place has gone downhill. Not the JCPENNEY I remember.

Tell me why this store smells like mold and mildew ?

Stopped in for some essentials, and it was a complete mess. The customer service was awful, staff were short, unhelpful, and seemed bothered by simple questions. The store was poorly stocked, disorganized, and unclean. It s the worst I ve ever seen, and I ve never felt compelled to review a department store until now.

I got great deals on quality and name brand clothes. Plus, I was able to try them on instead of online guessing.

I ve gotten awkward family photos at the Southtowne JcPenney twice (once with my coworkers and again today for my daughter and her friends). Brandy was the photographer both times and she is absolutely fantastic!!! She knows what she s going for and commands that photo studio like a queen. She has a way of getting it done and directing everyone to fulfill her vision without being rude (which is such a big deal for a group of giggly yet sensitive to criticism teenage girls!!!). I was impressed the first time, but EXTRA impressed today. She has this I got you attitude that I absolutely love. I really hope she gets paid well for her work because she absolutely deserves it!!!

Its been decades since weve been to a JCP. What a nice classic store. Big increase in quality & name brands like IZOD. The JCP brands have super quality. Higher prices but understandable. Nice kids running it. Thanks for your help & beautiful smile /kindness, Oscar! 9/18/2024 7pm.

Went into buy some jewelry. The older lady behind the counter refused to show me anything until after I applied for a Jc penny credit card. I told her I m not interested and would pay cash. She said she was only allowed to sell jewelry using Jc penny credit cards and nothing else. She flat out refused to sell me anything. Hilarious that a company in bankruptcy refuses to sell customers merchandise.

Timeless. One of the OGs in this space. Always keepin it fresh. The only thing I dont like is all of the pricing games. They usually list the retail price then there is a bunch of mental gymnastics to figure out how much it costs.

Second JC PENNEY in a row Im met with lazy customer service staff. I dont need to be pointed like an animal, do your job and help me find the items.

The employees were friendly and helpful. But, I went in with m my daughter for maternity clothes only to find that they have taken out the maternity section.

If your looking for cookware, they dont have many options. Some cheap starter sets and thats about it

I cant give five stars because the store wasnt stocked well. They were empty shelves. But they did get four stars because they have great deals. The sales are incredible. I hadnt been in years and once I returned I wondered why it had been so long since Ive been there.

They always have what I need at good prices. There was no line to be checked out and I was provided great service.

Havent shopped at JCPenny in a long time. I ordered some basics via a pre-black Friday sales online. Almost everything worked out. Did a few returns in person. Staff was very friendly!

This worker accused me of stealing she then proceeded to stop me so i can show her where i left the box of the necklace. HG I BET YOU FELT SO EMBARRASSED WHEN YOU SAW NOTHING WAS TAKEN.

The folks at the portrait center were having just as much fun as we were.

Wendy from jewelry gave me excellent service going above and beyond. went to the make up department and Chris continued with that great service, bought one more thing ; ended up at the front register and Ada continued with that excellent service. Went in to purchase an item. Store didnt have it in stock. They ordered it and charged me shipping. Not customer friendly policy.

Is great to have a JC Penney in the neighborhood. With so many department stores closing down, its nice to have someplace to go to pick up a dress shirt or slacks on short notice.

I didnt know JC Penny was still a thing. I had to come in to see it. It seems to be struggling, like all other department stores from the Covid, and online shopping.

Got snowed in on a family trip and didnt have a coat. Im very happy with the coat I got from JCPenny. Its one of my favorites now. Wonderful workers!

Lines to check out were long and all I needed to do was ask a question. Price check kiosks would be great throughout the store. Also more associates wandering around would be nice. The guy at the counter didnt even know what a slip was when I asked if they sold them for kids went to buy a suit for my son and they hardly had anything in stock! Checked online and they were out there also . Guess I should have realized Easter would make them disappear... Just not many places to get Van Heusen flex wear which is fantastic for the kiddos.

Erika the manager from South town mall was very unpolite unprofessional wen asking for a plastic bag I needed I was looking for a cart to hold my purse and a plate of food that my son did not finish I didn t want to be hold it the plate of food with out a bag because we where not planing to go inside the store ,imagine Just a bag I even told her I can pay for it and she said no but the way she said it it was in a roude way like she own the Whole JCPENNEY store I felt bad that I didn t feel like buying anything just for the Bad Customer service received it looks likes she was already mad because she wasn t polite

Very bad customer service in the jewelry department. Trying to get my mothers ring sized but the employee was too busy socializing with a friend she told me to come back later or another day. Very rude.

I was just walking through Penneys to get out of the mall and ended up finding just the right purse I have been looking for. I havent been there for years and was surprised at how nice it looks and how reasonable the prices are. I will have to go back when I have time to do more shopping!

Department stores are dwindling. It s not super ritzy like when we grew up. But they have good staff, and good deals! The staff will scan coupons for you if you have a JCP card.

My friends get kicked out of the store by a worker as they wandered around the store looking for me. Very friendly customer service . Might want to look into hiring better staff.

A few friends got separated from the main group, so they were looking around in here to see if they could find us. They peeked into a hallway and realized it was a back room and started walking the other way. Apparently this made a worker mad and she kicked them out for looking like they were about to walk into a back room. Maybe you should start firing a few people.

I have enjoyed shopping at this location, but when I went today several fitting rooms where closed and one of the escalators in the store was not working so I had to use the main mall escalator to get back to the main floor.

I love JCPenney as much as anyone. I really do. Everytime I go, I look for the absolute best in this legendary American Department Store ....the wonderful service, the great selection of merchandise in every department, etc. Today, sometimes Im disappointed in what I find in the overall experience... but I keep going back as Im convinced that the JCa Penney Golden Rule Store will continue to do right by its original principles, its associates, and its customers.

Well, the day after Thanksgiving it was crazy in there. Clothing, shoes all over the floors and it was busy packed with people. Still can find a good deal here

They have a great selection of clothing for everyone. The kids shoe aisle could use more selections, bit overall its always a great experience coming here. The staff is very friendly as well.

My wife got a few nice dresses at an excellent price. She has had a hard time finding things she likes and this was great for her and now is going back.

Didnt find any thing I could/would buy. I wanted to buy a black skirt. Asked where I could look at some skirts. Was directed, by someone who was not interested in me, over there! I dont think I will ever go back to Pennys!!!!! How sorry, we shopped at Pennys all the time when I was a kid!!!!

Sue was an amazing help in the shoe section and she was very knowledgeable on where the shoes were and what might work best for me. There were many employees that I saw on their phone which was very unprofessional.

Didn t have baby boy clothes I was looking for (or a large collection of baby boy clothes), and the Sephora was a little skimpy and doesn t offer the bday gift in stores.

Jordan, who was at the mens customer service registers today (10-15-22) was so kind and helpful! Thank you so much for your calming attitude and resourcefulness to help me today!!

Ive loved Penneys since I was a kid. Great selection of clothes, pajamas, unders, and home goods.

Still holds up. Best sheet selection we could find after several other stops. Prices were good.

We got some great deals on Christmas diamond jewlery and toys. It is real sad seeing very few employees per floor. We seem to have become a self serve society.

Jcp is been my store since I came to the USA, I always find good choices of clothing for me and my husband. I will even give gift cards to my children for my grandkids for Christmas, from this store.

JC Penney has always been a place where you can fine some nice clothes. Its also one of the last places to do so. I like this place very much especially the one in south Jordan.

we used to get all my teen boys clothes here... but time went by and now, shopping for my daughters.. hard to find much worth buying.. JC has lost their style.

Lots of cute shoes and boots, and really comfortable sweat outfits. A little on the pricy side, but well worth it. Good quality.

Staff was nice and the store definitely had a lot of options for apparel! I found it a little difficult to find the items I needed and I didn t see some clothing there that appeared to be in stock online. The check out lines were a little slow. Overall, I would still come back and shop here!

Not enough cashiers slow service

Ive shopped at JC Penny for a long time, and the past few years their stores have really gone downhill. The lack of selection and poor organization make finding what I need difficult. The stores are also not very clean, which makes the shopping experience less enjoyable.

Friendly employees, able to quickly find what I wanted, well organized, good pricing.

A bit of a wait for customer service, other than that the store was great.

Lyn in the jewelry department needs to be fired. Constantly hanging up on me for no reason and slamming the phone down. I had to call back 7 times to find out about a ring we dropped off. This is a joke. I will never shop here again and will not recommend the jewelry to anyone ever.

I went to JC Penney looking for shoes and makeup for my wedding. The woman at the Sephora counter was extremely helpful with picking out good foundation. I asked for a recommendation on lipstick that would last for the day. The one they recommended smeared all over everything!!!! It didn t stay at all. Fortunately, they do have a 30 day return policy. The shoe department was a wreck. There were boxes and tissue paper strewn all over the floor. The selection was very small and disorganized. I couldn t find anything in my size and finally just left.

I have continually struggled to find styles that I like at JC Penny for the last couple years.

We had a scheduled appointment in the portrait department that we had confirmed the day before. When we showed up there was nobody there and it was closed. We asked for help from the cashier who called for someone to come to the portrait department over intercom. We waited 30 minutes and nobody showed up. We tried to call the store for help and nobody picked up. Huge waste of time.

Deal

The time it takes to get your ring resized counts toward your expiration to refund the ring. Long story short, JCPenney resized the ring I bought which took 5 weeks. After being called to pick it up, I noticed the ring was heavily damaged. Instead of a refund, I was given a gift card. Nothing else. Logged online to look at other ring options, and none were comparable in price, size, or any other options. What a joke.

Poor experience with management

The sales associates are awesome at this location! We found only one dress there, but needed 2 of the same size for a wedding. They looked up what other JCPenney stores had it in their inventory and when they saw it cost less online because of a MLK holiday sale they gave us a percentage off of the dress we purchased and the sales associate helped us order the other dress online to be delivered to a closer store to us.
