I brought my Pomeranian Yoshi in for his temperament test here and they was so warm and welcoming. My yoshi passed his test and will be boarding here while we are on vacation. I just wanted to say I appreciate the kind and calm atmosphere for the pups.
First of all, I want to say that I have waited a couple of days before writing this to let the emotions subside so I can be objective. I have a 8 yr old shorkie who is an inside dog. He is groomed regularly and has been boarded several times at The Dog Park by the airport. We have never encountered a problem with boarding. This summer we decided to look for a boarding location closer to where we live. After visiting several locations in Sandy we chose to board our dog at Dogtown Pet Spa. He was there for a total of 11 days. When I dropped him off the employee had me take off his leash and collar. Then she took him behind their gate. To both of our surprise, our dog jumped over their counter and ran to me. This should have been my first indication that safety was not a priority. Over the time our dog was there we got daily updates on his nails, skin, teeth etc. The only item of concern was as he has a little tarter build up on his teeth. We felt reassured of his wellbeing and looked forward to the pictures we received. When I returned to pick our dog up he had been given a complimentary bath (per their policy of a free bath after 7 days of boarding), and his nails had been trimmed. The employees let him out of the gate without a leash and he was so excited he ran to the door to leave. I struggled getting his collar and leash on because he was so excited to leave. Again, not the safety I would have expected. Also, while I was settling the bill, we were expecting to pay for the nail trim, but I was told that part of our deposit would cover it and the remaining $73 would be saved to our account for the next service. That was a surprise not to get refunded. Later at home my daughter noticed little “black seeds” on our dog. We thought maybe he had been in a bush and had gotten some in his hair. However, later the next day I was petting him and I could feel several bumps. I was able to use my nails to pull something resembling a black seed off him. I looked closer at it and noticed it was moving! So I put it in a bag and continued to find at least 12 more of the same bug. I called our vet who said they thought it sounded like fleas. I immediately went to buy some shampoo and spray to get rid of the bugs. At the pet store the only shampoos that were sold were for ticks and fleas. So we bathed, sprayed, our dog and cleaned everything in the house he had touched. The next day I took the bag to The Dogtown pet spa and showed them what I had found. There was no manager there so the employee tried to help. She was texting her manager and took a picture of the bag of bugs. To my disgust the employee told me that her manager said the bugs were lice, not flees. The employee googled dog lice and told me it took 7-10 days for the lice to become the size they were in the bag. I pointed out that was the entire time my dog was I. Their care. She said I could come back the following day to talk to the manager about it. While driving back to PetSmart to try and find a lice shampoo, the manager called. She immediately became defensive and said that our dog already had the lice before coming to them. She argued with me for at least 10 minutes before I asked what she would be willing to take responsibility for. She agreed to refund the $73 they kept from our deposit and offered a free lice bath and spray. I found the safety, professionalism and empathy to be lacking with the entire experience. If our dog had lice before he came, then the employees were negligent in the care my dog received by reporting he was in good health for all 11 days he was there. I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY WITH MY DOG AGAIN!
I have a little toy dog that has people issues. Maren and her staff at DogTown in Sandy are very patient with him and do not push him out of his comfort zone while he is there for daycare and boarding. Anthony has groomed him twice. He's come home looking adorable and not stressed. I've worked with Maren for training. She's amazing! She is very knowledgeable. Since she takes the time to get to know his needs and personality, I've been given very useful and successful training methods that are custom fit to him. I repeat ~ custom fit. Do I recommend DogTown, Anthony, and Maren? Absolutely 100%
dogtown is the best!! anthony does a great job grooming my dog. you can tell he really cares for the dogs he grooms, and he takes his time to understand what you want your dog to end up looking like. i love how fresh and clean my dog is after every groom. he always smells so good and not like wet dog. i would highly recommend dogtown to anyone!!! 10/10
Dogtown is the best! Not only do my dogs love going there to play, their training program is amazing! We did the 5 week private lessons with our reactive dog and we couldn’t be happier with the progress Maren has helped up to make. We went from our dog walking us around the neighborhood and barking at other dogs to him being stable and confident. He enjoys walking next to us on a loose leash and he is so much happier with the boundaries we have set for him. Thank you so much Maren and everyone at Dogtown, you guys are amazing!
Great trainers . My dogs completed a three week training course .They been patiently working with our stubborn ,14 year old border collie . Very pleased with the trainers ,facility. And their grooming services . Our Border Collie got her very first short trim . The groomer did an excellent job😃
Brandie at Dog Town is an awesome groomer! She is so personable, loves your animal, and does a great job. She’s been grooming my little Sophie for some time now and we just love her! It’s hard to find a groomer that knows how to take care of a Maltese in long coat. ❤️🐾❤️
This is the best place to take your doggies for day care, boarding, training, and grooming. I absolutely adore these people. Before I found them I took my pups to boarding place last minute and cried when I drove away because I didn’t like them. I call dogtown summer camp, because they send you daily report cards of your dogs with pictures and captions and you can tell they really care. It’s like dropping your dog off at a friends house! Also they did a great job giving Milo his first hair cut. They boys come home happy and exhausted from playing every time we take them 💕 (these pictures were attached to milos report card from his very first day care experience)
Anthony always does a great job!
Simply, an unethical employer.
My dogs love this place. Its always hard to leave part of your family whenever you go away, and they cant come This place takes away all that stress and worry. Daily photos and updates on how they are makes you feel like they care as much as you do.
We ve tried a bunch of places for our dog when we travel, and this place is the best we ve found so far in the Murray/Midvale/Sandy area. Great staff who ask about the dog and know how to take care of them for extended stays.
Echo comes here regularly for daycare and weve done 2 board & trains. He loves it here!!
We boarded our two Griffin pointer pups at Dogtown for 4 days while we were on a trip. The facility is clean, well kept and the employees are awesome. The dogs were well cared for and they were the same happy, crazy puppies when we got them back home.
We LOVE Dogtown! Not only is their daycare/boarding absolutely amazing, we just went through a wonderful training program with Maren. She did a great job helping us guide our dog through some reactivity issues, as well as some obedience training. She helped us to positively enforce guidelines with our dog in a patient manner. We cant wait to continue working with her in the future!
I am a Dogtown Pet Spa fan. I have taken my German shepherd, Maggie, there for grooming, boarding, daycare, and training. Anthony always ensures she comes back smelling fantastic and Marens efforts have made a big impact on her behavior. Maggie is an excellent dog inside my house, but she is very reactive and protective on walks. Maren has spent a long time training Maggie (Board and Train) and later in follow-up day and train lessons and private lessons to train me as the human in how best to support my pup. On Tuesday this week, I experienced my first relatively pleasant evening walk with Maggie courtesy of Maren s training. Based on feedback from our Saturday session at Murray Park, I intentionally walked slightly slower than I even I would like to show Maggie that I was the one to determine the pace instead of her; in the past I always had to move at a speed walk/jog to match her energy. Maggie did not react negatively to two sets of pedestrians and later a revving motorcycle . In the past she would lunge at both, seeing them as threats to my safety. However, thanks to Marens trainings, Maggies on-leash skills have substantially improved. I could tell the difference from her four days of day and train, and I feel more confident now that I m holding the leash correctly thanks to Marens patient feedback. Shes been a great cheerleader for both of us.
Had an issue with communication on feeding and medication, but management made a strong effort into investigating the situation and following up which we appreciated.
Very cozy, spacious, all around just a nice place.
Large-breed owners beware this is not a conducive environment for all dogs We started bringing our 1-year old Dogo Argentino rescue to the Sandy location about 4 months ago and things started off well but then became progressively worse. She passed the required temperament test before we began boarding and we voluntarily signed her up for intermittent training as well to help with some of her energetic puppy behaviors. We loved the daily photos/report cards during boarding and the thorough feedback and videos following training. Initially, her report cards were generally positive and she has always been very receptive to training. She also seemed to really love her stays and was excited to be dropped off so we were caught off guard when after her last stay we were told she was too high energy to be around other dogs and would require a more expensive separate kennel and mandatory training to continue to board her there. Despite being willing to do all of this, apparently we also needed to attend an in-person meeting with the manager/trainer that my husband missed due to work and after repeated unreturned calls/messages to the manager we we re finally told that this facility no longer wants to do business with us or our dog. In what could only be described as a completely unprofessional, unhinged rant by the manager over the phone she told us we are not invested in our dogs training and that we were poor with communication and out of line for adding additional (paid) nights to boarding occasionally despite the fact that they frequently didn t do grooming or training during boarding when we had asked for it. Our dog has never shown aggression to other dogs and is as gentle as can be with our 3 young children so we can only surmise that the manager/trainer clearly takes issues with larger, dominant breeds of dogs and is not equip to give them the safe, loving environment or training that we would expect when spending significant amounts of money for their services. Our dog is incredibly loved and we are extremely invested in her despite the managers unkind words so we will be taking her somewhere more inclusive for her breed and much more professional for boarding in the future and suggest other large breed owners do the same.
We started taking our sweet, fun-loving, and sometimes stubborn, Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, Mak, to Dogtown in Sandy as soon as he turned 4 months old and got his rabies vaccination. He absolutely LOVES the people there and is always so excited to go and see them and play with the other dogs. When we take him to dog parks now, you can tell that he has already been well socialized because of his experiences there. One of the trainers there is Maren. We decided to do some in-home training sessions with Maren. You should have seen Mak the first time Maren showed up at our home - excited is not nearly a strong enough word for how happy he was to see her at his house. He absolutely loves working with her. The humans (my husband and I) have learned so much about how to work with our puppy to have a happy and more obedient dog. With his size, we needed him to learn early how to behave and have good manners because at 6.5 months old, hes already 70 pounds! Maren knows her stuff and she knows how to work with both the dogs and the humans to get the best results! We will continue to work with Maren as Mak grows, to help him continue be the best furry friend he can be!
Great place for daycare, grooming, boarding and training. Simply the best!
I love this place. Everyone is so friendly and my pup is always happy to go play with his friends. The grooming has also been great. Definitely recommend.
We love taking our dog here. They take good care of her and she is always happy.
Dog Town Pet Spa is the only place where my dog Chewy is not only happy to go, but also still happy when I see him again. This last time he ran back to say goodbye. Its nice to know that my Dog will be treated well. Ive used many other locations to board my dog and this is the only place that Ive had consistently great results! Thank you!
Always liked this place. However, I was charged $15 extra because my dog squirmed during the haircut. Really? This was not explained to me when called, dropoed off my dog, or any of other times ive used this groomer. I wish I could charge people $15 everytime I feel a little put out. Good groomer and great kennel, but not thrilled some BS additional $15.
I have been taking my dog here for a couple years now. The front desk is very efficient and friendly.
Best dog care and boarding provider I have had while caring for my 12-year-old GSD. The staff are professional and exceptionally nice. A very well-run organization! I would recommend it to anyone.
Great groomers! Delaney always does a perfect job on my pets!!
This is a great place for dog daycare. We take our Bichon Frise here twice a week because he seems to really need the time with other dogs. The staff greet him with enthusiasm, by name, when he arrives. Great place!
I was following behind what must have been the owner of this business in their car and they almost hit 3 cars within 30 seconds. Very bad driver.
Clean facility, and very nice staff, I had our 2 chi-poms groomed here and they did a fantastic job in short amount of time.
Great place to take your pet. We love that we get daily report cards. They offer packages with small discount for multiple days. Friendly staff. Our dog always has a wonderful time at the Sandy location!
Our pup loves it here!!
If I could give them 10 stars I would. My Cookie has been coming here since May 2019. She loves DogTown. She has her special people there who she greets with wiggles and kisses in the morning. But its more than that. Last week Cookie tore her ACL on her right rear leg. I still had to go to work and those awesome staff members made sure her activity wasimited and took her for potty walks. The care they have shown her this last week goes above and beyond and I will be forever grateful. Thank you team DogTown.
They did a good job with my dog, however I was surprised by the price, The price they told me I was going to pay while scheduling the appoitnment over the phone was completely different from what I ended up paying, they told me that the nail trimming was already included with the bath and on top of that the deposit is quite high, and I also felted really pressured from the receptionist to leave a tip, I did but I didnt feel good about it, she deserved the tip but I dont think I should had paid as much as I did for the services they provided. Specially considering the fact that waiting on the receptionist area didnt feel like a good idea since a really strong smell of dog feces was present, which I would understand if the prices were cheaper and a lower quality of services however based on the charge I think they should really clean and make sure the area smells good so that people can wait for their dogs. I didnt have a horrible experience but definetly not the best experience ever either, I also think they should work on their website so that its easier to find the information needed and they should also provide the prices for the services, so that theres a clear idea of what the client is going to pay. Im not sure If I would use their services again.
My dog, Bella, had never been boarded, or to daycare before. She was skittish at first and was scared to go back without me, but eventually went back to play with pup friends. I could tell by her report card pictures that she had a blast. The second time I took her in, she went straight through the gates without even looking back at me. When I took her in to board, she apparently had a bad stomach and made a mess on herself. They bathed her for free, which I wouldnt expect from a business unless they legitimately cared about your pet. Theres no reason for me to risk taking her anywhere else when DogTown clearly is the safest place for her to be when not with me.
Be very cautious! Have boarded pets for years. This was a new experience! Staff unprofessional and almost scary.
Excellent daycare and excellent training. Our dog did a 2 week board and train and it made a huge difference in our ability to communicate with our pup.
This place is great! All the staff are so friendly and genuine, so I feel comfortable taking our pup here. Our dog comes home tired but not to the point where we are worried he didnt get any rest. Their prices are on par with competitors and theyre close to the freeway for convenience with pickup and drop off.
As a member of the veterinary community I have always heard great things about Dogtown so when I wanted to give day care a try for my Cowboy Corgi Eli - I knew exactly where to go! The place was very clean and proffessional. The staff was courteous and knowledgable. From what I could see the dogs in the play area all seemed happy and balanced and you could hear staff interacting with the dogs. There was a faint urine smell but its a dog facility in August so that is to be expected. Eli was pretty overwhelmed by all the dogs and day care is not for him so we wont be regulars however, I am very impressed with them and highly recommend them for training and day care/boarding.
The staff was beyond helpful and I felt like they really took time with our anxious dog.
Our puppy goes to Dogtown for doggy daycare and he loves it. They do a great job of running his puppy energy out for us
OMG! Best place to take your pup! The staff was extremely nice, she cut my Yorkie s hair perfectly! Exactly how I wanted it! My 3 lbs dog was so comfortable with her that he started falling asleep while getting his hair cut. Love love love this place. If I could I would give a 10 star lol
Our dog loves it here!
Used to take my pup to a different boarding shelter, she always came home wreaking of urine. This shelter might be a little more expensive per night, but worth the extra money to have a clean doggo.
As of right now, my doggies havent been boarded out here yet, but for their temperament test they showed positive results. They seemed happy when they hopped in the car. The facility is clean, smells good - unlike some other boarding facilities. Truthfully, I was originally told the holiday was going to be too busy to get them booked but fortunately some space opened up. Super thrilled with is, as was recommended by some close friends. If you need assistance, the person who provided me the most was Jackie. Thank you so much Jackie and Dogtown, for assisting us in making sure we can make it to my grandmothers 90th birthday this holiday season!
I tried this guys for the first time. My dogs initial visit was good. But when it came to boarding and pick up it was horrible. I went to pick up my dog and in the parking lot pulling up I noticed a dog that looked like mine getting into a car with another women. Having full trust in the company, I imagined it wasn t. As I walked by the dog in the car it kept staring at me. Which I imagine most dogs do and I did think again could that be my dog. But again the trust in the company s protocols was in my mind. When I walk in my partner stated that it was our dog out loud. I looked at the lady and said I m here for Luna. She looked at her computer and continued clicking without saying anything. So I asked did you guys just lose my dog? No answer, no apology. By this time the lady with my dog had left. The front desk lady called the owner who wasnt the one who picked up the dog. It was a family member that wasn t too familiar with the owners dog, so they had to get the family member number from the owner. Then once she disconnected she simply said it was a mistake with no empathy or sincerity. At this point I was too upset that I paid $164 and they gave my dog to a stranger not on my check out list who didn t even have the pick up persons number. But this is the real kicker of what it made no sense of the mistake. They have pictures of our dogs. My dog is black with a white strip and a girl. She confused it for a boy dog that had white on his pays and a coat that is brown and white. So no there s no mistake in putting the trust in you not to confuse my dog and let it leave the premise. Imagine if I would ve gotten there an hour later. Or the owner or family member didn t answer their phone. Once I got my dog safely back the lady simply asked me to pay the amount. Like you just gave my dog away and you can t act sincere or offer anything to keep me as a customer. When I called the next day asking for a manager they gave me a supervisor whom wasn t told anything of the incident. And the only thing she could reassure me was they will do training so this doesn t happen again and they do understand if I don t want to come back. At least this supervisor gave empathy and sounded sincere of the situation but I didn t pay that money for you guys to keep my dog safe and secure and you let her leave the premise with a stranger. When I asked for a discount or a credit they couldn t do that. I m fully disappointed with this place and don t plan on returning. I would think twice before they give your dog to another.
DogTown Pet Spa is the best daycare/boarding/training/ grooming facility I ve ever had the pleasure to be in! Immediately upon walking in you notice how incredible it smells and looks, it s very clean and vibrant which gives such a welcoming feeling for you and your fur babies. The staff is extremely professional and kind, you can tell they genuinely care about your dogs and treat them as if it were their own. Everyone takes pride in keeping the place clean and safe so that every dog has an enjoyable stay! The rapport Dogtown has with its clients is also very special as they treat everyone that walks in like family! 10/10 would recommend to anyone with a fur baby they want to spoil!
I love Dogtown! They are always so great at making every stay personal! I cant thank them enough for everything they do for the doggos that stay there! Its always clean and smells nice! They make sure to care for each dog as if it was their own and I couldnt ask for a better place for my dogs to stay!
We used to love these guys. In the past year our pups have come home with kennel cough twice and the communication on the report cards and staff has been a lot less. They gave us 1 or 2 words on how our dogs were doing. No information at all. Will be finding another facility that meets our needs and keeps our dogs healthy.
This is an excellent facility! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and go the extra mile to ensure my dogs have a good experience. We ve been using Dog Town for several years now and have always had a good experience. I highly recommend their services!
PSA for those with giant breeds!! So I wish I could say that we are returning customers here. But sadly, we are not. I have taken all my dogs here for years to daycare and boarding, and we really did enjoy going here. My newest pup, a great dane puppy, loved going here for daycare, but after she aged out at eight months because of their spay and neuter policy, we are no longer able to go. Anyone familiar with giant breeds ei: Great Danes, mastiffs, pyrenees etc. knows that it is not advised to fix them before (at minimum) first heat, most vets even suggest not until they are two years old. Fixing them too soon can cause damage to their developing muscles and skeletal system, leading to life long complications. You would assume a place that works with dogs would know that? Guess not. They hold fast to their policy, which in turn excludes large breed puppy s by default, and completely disregards vet advice on how to care for a giant breeds. And side note, I know that exceptions HAVE in fact been made for other customers, saw a full grown intact male during one of our visits. If you are looking for somewhere to take your giant breed pup, I would suggest looking else where.
I can t say enough good things about this place and I didn t even use their training services. We ve taken our dog here when we would go on vacations for about 4 years now and he absolutely loved it. His tail would wag excitedly and he would smile as we pulled up. We recently had to put our sweet dog down but Dogtown was so thoughtful and sent us a card with a couple of pictures of our dog included inside. It was so thoughtful! We will for sure use them in the future with our future dog. Thank you Dogtown, you guys are incredible.
I am highly disappointed in our recent experience at DogTown. Weve been taking our older dog here for years and always had a good experience. Since the change in management, we have not been impressed. We use them often, but will not be returning now. I have continued to ignore some of the faults because I thought they were just one offs. I will no longer ignore it for the safety and care for my dogs. The last two stays, our dogs have returned to us very skinny and most of their food is returned to us. They try to tell us that our dogs are shy eaters, when in fact Ive never seen my dogs not eat their food. Our youngest dog has come home with a respiratory infection once and they have terrible customer service. Our dogs are not strangers to this kennel and they have sent us photos of other dogs and get our dogs mixed up often. It is very clear that they do not care for the animals. Please take your animals somewhere else. I do NOT recommend this company.
Nellie @DogTown Pet Spa in Sandy, Utah is THE BEST! After researching several local obedience training locations for our rambunctious Frenchies, we chose right! Training two pups was testing our patience & we needed help! Nellie came to our rescue. After 3 weeks, we had pups who were obedient, easy to walk, and the best part...enjoyable & as cuddly as ever! Nellie is magical and her program leads to happy pups and owners! We ve been recommending Nellie to all our friends & neighbors!
Max is always happy to come home but they do a great job
This place has helped my dog excel at making friends!!! And the staff is so friendly and so helpful!
Such a handsome boy thanks for the good work
We LOVE DogTown!! I researched different doggy daycares for my Cane Corso, Apollo, and had a friend refer us to DogTown. They are amazing!! I was a little nervous since Apollo is a giant breed dog, and even though he is a teddy bear, he can intimidate some. They really care about the dogs there and I feel like they are personally invested in the care of our dog. Every time we go in, Apollo can t wait to go and play! He LOVES all of the staff and we can tell they love him. We love that they get to play ALL day and they only kennel him to eat (which I appreciate even more so he doesn t get sick or get bloat). They always let us know if there are any issues, and tell us fun stories about Apollo during the day. They have a report card with pictures and a little note about the day which my husband and I LOVE! They genuinely care and everyone at the front is so kind! It s Apollo s home away from home. We haven t had to board him there yet, but we know when we need to, he will be very well taken care of. Thank you!
I was hesitating to write this review, but it is worth it if it is for them to improve, I took my two dogs for grooming service and I ended up disappointed. After they had been there for five hours, having delivered reference photographs and being very specific with what I wanted, they delivered them to me nothing close to what I asked for, if they were somewhat tangled and I paid an extra fee for it, but they were not bad as to make them completely hairless, and the next day noticing that my dog has a skin allergy probably caused by the blades they used to cut his hair, I wanted this place to like me, Sabrina offered to try to fix the irregular parts of the cut and was very kind and apologized for the inconvenience, but I dont want to go back, I wanted me to like it and always take my dogs there, but its not going to happen, I feel that they should improve customer service, not only be an answer of sorry but to seek to reach a middle ground with a client who is not happy at all with what he is paying, who in the end feels that it was a waste of time and money, I have read good reviews, such as lousy. Apparently it is an experience that you love, or where you never want to return, in my case the second one.. they were uneven parts that I notice the minute I see the dog, is about how diligent you can be with customers and how you deal with the situations, customer is not always right, and you probably know better, but if I was really specific with what I wanted, why don t you call first if I was okay with completely shave one of my dogs if I was so specific with how I wanted his hair? And how would you fix a completely shaved dogs with completely shaved eyebrows? I know you offer to cut the missed parts, but just that, and nobody mention any upgrade, you mention that I would have to be at 8 to leave my dogs with the same groomer otherwise if it s other groomer you will have to charge me again, so I m guessing that groomers don t work for your establishment and you just rent them the space if that was the answer, because that Answer is that the business is not taking care on anything.. I definitely believe that you need to assume your mistake and not having a p/a response with customers, and don t try to justify your mistakes after.. was not a great experience for me, can be for other people and not for me, and I didn t say anything about how you made me go for a temperament appointment that at the end you wanted to do 5 hours later when was suppose to be the first thing and why I leave them there so early. Anyway, don t bother, you will keep working the way you are doing it cuz for you the mistake was mine
Very friendly staff and dogs seem to love it there.
Our dogs love staying here when they are unable to travel with us
DogTowns In House Training was like a miracle for my 2 - 11 month old labs. The two trainers, Makenzie and Maren were so wonderful! During Chawk and Rios training for 2 weeks they learned so many GOOD DOG manners that our home is normal again. When I dropped the 2 puppies off I didnt think I was going to be a basket case, I thought it would be just fine, but by that night I was clearly more attached than I thought. So the next day I called Makenzie and told her I was going to forfeit my money and I was coming to get my puppies and just forget the whole training thing...but after her talking to me for 20 minutes and her reassuring me that this was going to be a GREAT experience for both me and the puppies I agreed to leave them there and she would send me text messages throughout each day for the next 2 weeks to let me know they were okay, so we went forward with the training and I am so thankful that I did. Because of Makenzie and Maren, I have 2 trained lab puppies that are brothers, who used to be non separable, wouldnt sleep in separate kennels, who had to do everything together but will now do things without the other, and will even do commands the first time. (with a little help of a treat...lol) I would recommend DogTown Pet Spa Training (Sandy location) to anyone who is like me and wouldnt trust their fur babies to just anyone. Thank you, again for everything. Shauna, Chawk and Rio
I boarded my two dogs here for four days. It was the first time boarding them, but the staff were so nice and helpful that I felt completely comfortable leaving my puppies there. They made sure to let me know how they were doing and I could tell that they were giving my fur babies lots of love and attention. Ill definitely be using them again.
It wasn t a great experience boarding my two dogs here for 8 days. One of my dogs came home quite sick with severe diarrhea. He s on a specific diet due to his medical issues and I suspect he wasn t kept strictly on the food I provided. In addition, both dogs were filthy when I picked them up. They were supposed to get bathed, but clearly did not. When I called afterwards to reschedule the bath, the receptionist refused to do anything and only said she would ask her Supervisor about it and get back to me. Of course no one did. I would have rated lower however I do feel my dogs were safe here and they seemed to enjoy themselves, hence the three stars.
I highly recommend Dogtown grooming! They did such an amazing job on my fur baby! I told them exactly how I wanted her groomed and I got exactly what I wanted and she smells amazing!!! I will definitely be taking her here to get groomed!
My dog really likes this place. I wont board him anywhere else. Just be sure to reserve in advance.
Great service and my dog likes it, too! I like that they keep big dogs and smaller dogs separate.
I had been taking my dog to another groomer when our usual groomer went to a new place. Brandie ended up moving to Dog Town. We made an appointment and took Wiz in. Super friendly staff. Super clean. Wiz was done with his grooming in record time. We will for sure be back to get him groomed again. If youre looking for a new groomer, o even a daycare, Dog Town should be on your list to check out.
Brandie is one of the best dog groomers out there. She is very professional and does a high quality job. The facility is clean and smells nice. The front desk staff is very friendly.
Brandie is one of the best groomers out there. She is very professional and does a top notch job. The facility is clean and the staff is real nice.
We love Brandi Ballard and Dogtown. Moose loved visiting for a groom and he smells so great and is so soft.
DogTown is our very favorite place to take our dogs. Absolutely fantastic business! Our dogs are always well taken care of. Weve never had anything but good experiences with DogTown. I love how clean and organized the kennel is and that our dogs socialize and play while were gone. I highly recommend DogTown! Theyll take great care of your fur babies.
Dog town also trains people to become dog trainers. They have a pretty good program working for your education there starting as a kennel tech
I was really impressed with the new owners! Many new upgrades and improvements. Especially the grass area..WOW fantastic and clean. The large brand new covered area is awesome! Great friendly staff keep me informed on my dogs activities and there is always space available since they have expanded.
Signed up for Obedience Training at Dog Town with Nellie & Tim, awesome dog trainers! Ally, my Bichon Frise, needed to curtail her barking a bit. A few lessons with Nellie & Tim and tons of reinforcement by me, Ally is doing MUCH better. Shes not perfect, but weve come along ways! Thank you Nellie & Tim for your outstanding guidance and encouragement for both Ally & I!
My dog had a blast and the report cards they send everyday are very thoughtful and made me feel so good about leaving a family member in good care. I highly recommend! My dog is normally very anxious, but he came home happy and tired from all the play time with other dogs. We also had his nails trimmed and they did a fantastic job!
Get place
I am so glad I found DogTown!! Rose loves going to daycare here every week and they take such great care of her. They have a really nice, clean facility and the staff is so friendly and awesome!! Its now just a bonus that its on my way to work, but I would go out of my way to take her there thank you DogTown!!
Love love love DogTown almost as much as my pup does. The employees to the owner to the emailed report cards with pictures/videos, everything is fantastic. Love this place!!!!
The staff members pay close attention to each dog, and provides a safe, healthy and fun stay for my fur child. Since boundaries are set, my newly adopted pet has received consistent reward for proper behavior and better manners. Dogs are pack animals and Indy can t wait to play with his friends. Dogtown brings any health concern to my attention immediately. I am just so grateful for this company!
I highly recommend Nellie for dog training! I have a St Bernard, Harlee, who has been aggressive and anxious to the point I could not take her on walks or have friends over. I found Nellie at Dogtown Petspa and she has changed our lives! She not only taught Harlee behavior modifications, but taught my family how to set and keep boundaries. We know what behaviors to watch for when she is feeling protective and how to intervene. We can safely take Harlee on walks now!! Definite 5 stars!!!
I have taken my dog Molly to daycare at Dogtown for the last year About a month ago I signed her up for training sessions with Dogtown s Head Trainer, Nellie Bird. I had heard how good Nellie s training is, but I had no idea just how good Nellie is. Nellie s combination of authority and affection worked magic with Molly. If your.dog has any discipline issue big or small, Nellie will train your dog and train you. I couldn t be more pleased
Dog town is amazing! The staff is so friendly and so great with our dog. We also did one of their training programs with Nellie and she did wonders with our dog! We haven t seen our dog behave so well until now!
Nellie provided information and examples that gave us a lot of help with our dog. I am really grateful for the progress that our pup has made with Nellie s help. She was always very reliable, on time, professional, and had lots of great ideas.
We love DogTown so much! We ended up doing the three day training with Nellie and she was incredible!! We had gone to another training place last summer but didn t feel it was really beneficial after two full weeks. So we decided to try again with Nellie and OH MY GOSH- after the first day our dog was totally changed. He was listening better and following commands. She gave us simple things to work on at home and it has been a game changer. If you need any training I highly recommend Nellie. I also recommend for boarding and daycare - my corgi loves it!
Changed ownership but still great, lots of improvements being made. Trying hard for excellence. Mandy is still there, Patrone is happy to see her.
My Boxer Earl loves the Sandy Location! I love how they send pictures and a report card. Thanks for loving my wiggly butt boxer Earl!
I have taken my dog here a few times for grooming, and have loved the outcome and the service. Recently it doesnt seem like they care much for their customers or employees. The amazing groomer they had on staff who cared so much for the dogs was fired, along with 2-3 employees in the past few months. I have seen and heard some of the conversations with the main boss and am extremely disappointed to see and hear how she has treated the employees. Not only that, but I called to cancel my appointment coming up this week for my dog and the manager didnt seem to care. Didnt ask why or if they could help me reschedule. Just said ok and hung up. Guess Ill be taking my business elsewhere and warning friends and family NOT to go here.
We love taking our two dogs here when we go out of town. The report card email is such a nice touch and shows the care that this business puts into the services they offer their human and dog clients. I love that the dogs get to run around outside instead of being cooped up in a small cage all day. After one time of being there the staff remembered our dogs by name and genuinely seemed to care.
The staff was awesome and my dog enjoyed socializing with the other dogs while we were away. I think he missed us much less than when we boarded him elsewhere, where they just left him in his own kennel most of the day. We will definitely be using Dog Town for our future boarding needs!
AMAZING kennel techs, trainer, and good procedures. Terrible management and can be very unreasonable and unfair. The dogs, caring kennel techs, and customers make that place what it is. It is all them. If it werent for the management and treatment it would definitely 4+ stars.
Love the fact that they send a report card of the dogs! It would be awesome if they did it every day they were there, but hey, as it is, its pretty nice. Front staff is always pleasant and seems like they are well trained on caring for dogs.
I love the attention and affection they have for my sweet dog. I recommend them to everyone I know
We chose Nellie at Dogtown to help with some training for our lab Kali. She was absolutely amazing! I loved the report cards after each session as well as the written homework she provided. I highly recommend Nellie....money well spent!
Ive tried several boarding and doggy daycare places around the valley and this is by far my favorite. They were bought by a new company this year or last year, but they have only made it better. I havent done daycare since the new company bought it be we have done boarding and my dog loves it every time. I also made a point to ask if they still have a person in the daycare/open play area at all times with the dogs and they said yes. That one thing makes this place stand out above the rest, dogs need humans around to socialize, and also to keep an eye on behavior of dogs to keep them safe. Dogs are dogs, even the most well mannered dogs can get into it sometimes. I always trust them with my dog! Highly recommend.
My dog is going there since he was 2 years old. We love it there. I like the fact that people are watching over our dogs all day and allow them to play in a safe environment. We also did a training session with Nellie. She was awesome. She helped and fixed the issues we had with our dog.
They dont have any training in dog care terrible management. They came to Utah with their California money and ruined a good bussiness. They only care about money not animal service or trained employees in animal care.
We have never boarded our little dog, Chester, so we were a bit nervous. The thorough attention to detail in Chesters lifestyle and needs was really appealing to us. When we were away, we were invited to call and check in. When doing so, we found our furry friend running around with other furry friends. UponUpon pic him up, it was evident that the staff not only cared for him, but bonded, as well. For personalized care allowing a dog to be a dog, we would highly recommend Dog Town Utah!!
If I could give this place 100 stars I would! Incredible staff! They greet Finn (my fur baby) with a smile and excitement every time he goes for day care! I can tell they all really care about dogs and enjoy the service they provide!
Amazing place
Management has changed recently, not the same great place it used to be. Will not bring my dog here anymore. Zero communication between pet owner and staff.
My dog had a really good time and got lots of exercise!!!
Really nice people, my pup gets excited when we pull up!
This place is AWESOME... I love the people, love that my pup loves the people. Great place for your 4 legged baby.
These guys are really awesome and really helpful.
Good place, very friendly
Great place t0 kennel excellent customer service
I used to come here all the time. Used them for a training package, as well as boarding, many times. I called today and experienced terrible customer service. The girl on the phone literally blew off a 8 day boarding reservation, because I needed to have a few hours to figure out when I could drive up for the Temperament appointment. She said, I ll just refer you to another place. As a business owner, I d be livid. Anyways, it worked out better though. Loving, Camp Bow Wow!!!
DogTown has become my second family since moving to Utah from New York in May. As leaving her for the day is cheaper than a 30-minute dog walk, I have been leaving my 3 year-old golden in DogTowns hands on a daily basis. The dog daycare caretakers are skilled, trained and -- whats more -- my dog runs into their arms in the morning happily and is always well-fed, well-cared for and well-loved. I cant imagine taking her anywhere else -- she is the happiest, cuddliest pup thanks to DogTown. Moreover, any time there is even a hint of an issue with payment, food, or her care, they call me immediately. I am always in the know and reassured she is being taken care of lovingly and professionally. I dont know what Id do without my DogTown family : )
Very friendly staff and seems to be a clean environment. Hoping I have a chance to meet the owners at some point! My pupper was exhausted after day 1 there.
Dog Town is a fabulous place for my dogs. In the past I used to take them there for the social interaction even when there was no other reason to take them. DogTown has made a lot of infrastructure improvements recently. Unfortunately the cost has gotten a little too prohibitive for me. It is a fantastic place if you can afford it.
Always a great experience. Dogs where happy and clean when we picked them up.
This place is great for boarding or for daycare the price is right and the location (sandy) is so well located right off the freeway. We trust and love Dogtown
Cookie has been coming here every work day since May 2019. She adores this place, has friends both two-legged and four-legged. She is a 14lb Bichon and plays in the smaller dog group. We are so happy to be able to leave her everyday with people that really care about her. Thank you Dog Town.
We love Dogtown! We tried 3 places prior to Dogtown but never felt completely comfortable and frankly had some bad experiences. Dogtown truly has it all, it is insanely clean and the staff and owners are incredible. We bring our dog Piper 2-3 times a week! She is exhausted after BUT loves going! Thank you for loving our Piper! She is family and deserves the best and we found that at Dogtown!
We absolutely LOVE DogTown. Every Staff member has been fun, friendly and treats our Dani as one of their own. She LOVES going to day school when we are both working and comes home happy and tired. We love their agility classes and the training that Tiffany has done with us. Everyone is always helpful and great with any questions that I have. They truly LOVE all the animals and it shows in everything they do. I am SO thankful that we have DogTown in our lives! Excellent!
I took my dog here for a couple months, unfortunately he kept coming home with injuries. When Id ask the workers they never knew why he was injured. I assumed when paying for daycare there are people watching your dogs, making sure theyre not injured and if they are that they notify you. Hed have puncture wounds from bites, scratches and sores on his legs. His feet were always bleeding with sores and when I asked the owner why they were bleeding he said its from the gravel and that their paws would toughen up. When it started heating up I asked how they protect the dogs paws from burning, the owner said they have misters...not sure how this helps their paws. I started bringing paw protectant but they were reluctant to apply it. If you look at the grounds theyre dirty, and have minimal up keep. They take in so many dogs sometimes it looks like they have no room to run and play.
My dogs love it here!
My dog goes to Dogtown kennels for day care. He is well taken care off and gets very excited when he knows is is gong there. The staff is friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this kennel for your dog.
So far so good. One day care and one training session. Great people.
Staff is great facility was very clean
Excellent dog training service. Doggie Daycare is a perfect option for an energetic puppy.
Love you guys! You havent given me a dog that I can enjoy
Would love to visit if the weather is nice.
Best kennel around
They have cared for my dog since he was a puppy. They are his second family.
This place is welcoming, professional and well maintained. Prices are very reasonable. My husky Apollo is always really happy after daycare here.
We LOVE DogTown! Our dog loves going and everyone there is always so kind and they have a great supervision for the dogs.
Very good to our dogs. Our dogs love going there. They are always excited to run into Dogtown for daycare. Highly recommend you take your furry family members to Dogtown.
Awesome place to take your fur babys and an even better place to have them trained
Great trainer. One lesson has made a difference with my puppy. Definitely going back!
Great place for your Dogs. We left our 3 dogs for a week while we went on a cruise they had a great time we will definitely will leave our dogs there next time.
Wonderful boarding and daycare. Their Sit Means Sit dog training is absolutely fantastic!
They are great place for all training
The Sit Means Sit Training worked excellent for my dog, and I. The trainers are very good, they have made it easier for me to enjoy taking my dog out for a walk, as well as around the house. My dog enjoys going to Dog Town for boarding as well. It gives me peace of mind when I leave town, knowing my dog is in good, responsible, caring hands. Thank you Dog Town, and staff.
Like this place
My dogs second home.
Our puppy really loves going to DogTown and they are always excited to see her. Their outdoor area is grave and I just worry about the gravel being rough on her paws sometimes.
Great place for all dogs.
Awesome place for your dogs.
We have had great experiences at Dogtown. We have used them for daycare and boarding. Before we rescued him, one of our labs got happy tail from being boarded and stuck in a cage so much and it took so long to heal that we never wanted him to get stuck in a cage all day again. We found Dogtown and have loved it because he gets to play with other dogs all day. We have used a few other boarding places when Dogtown is full but always have come back because our dogs really prefer it. I have two labs and they both start whimpering to get out as soon as we exit the highway. They run in and give Jon hugs and kisses. We really love that because we used to feel guilty leaving them when we went on vacation. But they feel like they are getting a vacation too and it gives us peace of mind knowing they are being well taken care of. They always come home happy and exhausted from playing all day with their friends. I have recommended them highly to anyone looking for this type of boarding.
Viewing the tv programme of the Sanctuary in UK, I have to admire and sincerely thank all the carers. helpers, Vets - they show utmost concern, gentle handling, welfare for all the dogs - its beautiful to see God Bless you all for the wonderful jobs you do. Marguerite Hamilton E.Yorks., England.
We LOVE DogTown!!!! Our dog has been going there since he was six months old and he comes home tired every day! The owners are amazing and the staff is caring. We would not think of taking our sweet fur baby anywhere else.
Great dog day care. Fair prices and a fantastic staff.
This is hands down my favorite place to take my pup in Salt Lake! They are so kind, personable, and friendly. My dog is always so excited to go there and is always exhausted when she gets home. I recommend it to anyone looking for someone they trust to take care of their dog!
Whoa! That negative review sure is scathing. I happened upon the review while looking for the phone number and felt the need to give my own opinion. I have tried all aspects of Dogtown as well and have nothing but positive things to say. My dog is a special needs dog, very shy and skittish with some fear aggression. I feel she gets personal attention from all the caregivers at Dogtown that I always feel confident she will enjoy her day at daycare. I have also taken the dog training with Sit Means Sit and although I didnt initially agree with the concept it has really helped my dog immensely when I was at a loss on how to help her. She really enjoys the group lessons in the park especially when John lets his own dogs out which helps her develop that pack mentality she never developed after losing her mom and litter mates as a pup and grew up in the streets. I would recommend DogTown for daycare, boarding and training.
My dog loves this place! The staff is attentive and the dogs have great accomodations. It seems the dogs are well screened for temperament, as they all have a lot of fun together.
I trust Jon and his employees with my working K9. They are the only people who I trust with my partner when Im out of town.
Awesome place. My dog loves it there and comes home tired which is good hehe
Called and got pricing information from Jon (owner) for boarding 2 dogs/6 nights. Apparently there was a misunderstanding about a ksl deal but was told they would honor the price Jon quoted. When I went to pick up the dogs, they charged me for 10 nights instead of 6. When I pointed it out, the manager was so rude and said they had discounted it enough and it was my fault and that Jon doesnt normally give pricing information because??? - maybe they shouldnt let him answer the phone then. I hope they treat the dogs better than they do the humans. Will never use them again.
I am convinced my dog loves the team at Dogtown more than he loves me. He is uncontrollably excited every time I drop him off and never as quite excited when I pick him up - a good sign, I think. I have taken my dog to two other kennels in the Salt Lake area, and only because I called Dogtown last minute on holiday weekends and they were booked. Both times were very negative experiences - he came home seemingly lethargic, wouldnt eat, etc. Never have this problem with Dogtown. He comes home happy and exhausted from a fun day. Jon and Theresa are very knowledgable and alert me to anything they notice as out of the ordinary. Finally, and most importantly, the staff at Dogtown treats my pet as their own and always shares stories about his daily antics. Prices are more than fair for both daycare and boarding. As an overly protective pet parent, I feel confident recommending this place to anyone and everyone.
I love taking my dog here. The employees all know her by name and seem to really care about her. I like how the large and small dogs are separated so that my little one feels safe. The price is also very reasonable. I would recommend this place to everyone!
Have tried every aspect of company. Training, daycare, boarding and all have ended in frustration and disappointment with no one taking responsibility. Trust me we kept giving chances and kept getting let down. Front desk staffer is normally unorganized and unable to complete their job. Appointments would be made and then on 3 different occasions we would be called last minute and told they had to cancel or it no longer worked for trainers schedule. One time we were told the appointment was scheduled and then trainer didnt show up. Upon a call to find out what was going on we were told oops, we didnt put it on the calendar. Then did nothing to correct the problem other than to schedule another 2 weeks out! Our dogs paperwork has been lost 4 times! Bought life of dog training with 3 visits to the house and rest at kennel, their monthly training list was never received even after multiple requests and promises it was added and would be received. Shelled out 600.00 for 3 home training sessions that were 15 minutes each, dog place command spot and 5 free daycare days. So far proved it not to be worth it for services provided. Was told Jon (trainer) was not in at kennel and they didnt have the experience needed to care for dog at boarding 10 minutes after dropping off the dog. Dog training is based on a shock collar but sold as just a vibration. Receive my dog back with the shock collar at the highest possible shock power. When we mentioned our frustration to one of the owners Teresa, we were met with unfriendly, rude remarks, no consideration and no attempt to correct problems.
I speak today on behalf of my dogs. They RUN to the door when I take them to Dogtown. Jon & Teresa know all the dogs there by name and know what each dog needs.
Jon and Teresa are excellent with our furry family member Milo. They care for him as one of their own. Their staff is very helpful, courteous and treat the dogs like family. We feel good knowing that our dog goes to Dogtown daily and is ALWAYS excited to go back. Thanks you guys!!!
