Do NOT get delivery here because their shoppers aren t communicative, are massively argumentative, and like to blame the app for their lack of patience. I m ordering groceries in the Smith s app for my grandparents because I don t live there and they can t shop for themselves. I got a notification at 11:06am that an item was refunded and then immediately after at 11:06am Jean C. checked out. When am I supposed to approve the refund and modify an order since now they don t need the other item in there that went with the refunded one if he s immediately marking it as done? I asked if I could still modify the order since they didn t have the item and there wasn t any time between the two notifications. Instead of an answer, I got an argument that he didn t have time to wait for me to do that and it s an app update and not [his] fault. Again, fine, that s how the update works, but it s not an update that says I m done and checking out now. There s no time the shoppers are given for the order, so Jean C. can t spend that time waiting one minute for me to read the first message and modify the order. To top it all off, you can t even review your shopper or experience with the actual Smith s app or website and they tell you to go to Instacart. I don t have an Instacart login because I m doing it through Smith s, so that s a fun workaround to get out of their satisfaction guarantee for professional service, too. So, tldr: if Jean C. is your shopper, cancel your order. He s rude and apparently too busy for this.

Deceptive pricing. I dont usually shop here unless I need something in a pinch since its close. The listed prices are generally lower than what you will pay even with a Kroger card. They make it intentionally difficult to get deals on items and then you find out at the register just how much they fleece you when the deals they post dont go through when you scan, even with your Kroger card Now I remember why I shop at Winco and Costco and dont give Kroger much business.

Near my house. I find everything. Very nice employees. A good deal. Clean, tidy, everything fresh.

They told me none of the products were .48 cents. Called me a liar. More to the story, look at the receipts.

This store is terrible as far as having enough people to check you out when you are done shopping! There is always only one, and maybe, just maybe if there are 4 to 5 people in line a 2nd will come up to check. And dont bring up self check out, I dont work for Smiths, and I wont do their work for them!

I have been shopping at this store for over 20 years. today I had an experience that bothered me so much I am going to start shopping somewhere else. I have been to the Deli 4 times in the last week trying to purchase pulled rotisserie chicken. They have always had some in the past and if they were out they would stop and pull some for me real quick. the last 3 times I was told they were out and they couldnt order more. then today I was told that they were out again. I asked the woman in the deli to call the other stores close by and see if one of them had some, her response was I dont know their numbers. She acted so put out to help me in the first place, like how dare I interrupt her sandwich making. I asked for the deli manager and was told she was already gone, so I asked for the store manager and she launched into some discussion about how it isnt their fault and how corporate is making it so hard to order things. I got fed up and just told her I didnt care. She got defensive and I told her I didnt even care about the chicken any more, I was so fed up with her attitude. All the while she was whining and complaining she could have just grabbed a roasted chicken and pulled it apart for me. I went to the customer service booth and asked for the store director or whoever was in charge and they paged someone twice, but after 10 minutes I was tired of waiting. I told them I would take my business elsewhere and to nevermind. This store has a few really nice employees, but as a whole its not run well and I am generally disappointed most of the time when I go there. Aside from the few good employees the rest are lacking in so many ways. I know its got to be hard to hire people, pay them next to nothing and expect them to care. This store seems to be run more poorly than most though.

Online service and the in store experience has gotten so bad. We love Sherry and when dealing with her everything is great. The rest of the staff, not so much. Very rude and unhelpful employees. We went to pickup a cake yesterday and nobody was behind the counter so we asked a guy working by the deli for help. He was the most incompetent and rude person I have ever met. Walmart here we come but we will miss Sherry.

Every time I come to this store the employees are super friendly, their pharmacy usually has what I need, and I love their deals and coupons. We went in today and the butcher that was putting meat on the shelves was super friendly and helped us find a really good cut of steak.

I like this Smiths since they renovated it. Its laid out well, and has a good selection of organic, natural and gluten free products.

I honestly never have many complaints about smiths! This one always has very fresh produce which is why I take the time to drive here! Also the fresh made bagels are always fire!

Poor services

The self checkout lady on Thursday March 21st 2024 ruined my customer experience by acting unprofessional. Easdropping on my private conversation and giving her remarks hope this changes my first experience at this smiths was not a good one.

Erika at the self checkout was a lifesaver. She went above and beyond to show me how to the app and coupons worked. Without her stellar service, I wouldn t have saved as much as I did today. Thank you for making my day and I hope to see you every time I come back.

This is my favorite Smiths location and for good reason. They hire the nicest and most friendly customer service team members. I say it to them all time and to managers. Erika was a huge help today in solving my issue at the checkout station. And because I visit frequently here I see her often and its always accompanied by a welcome and/or smile.

Great for quick and long shopping visits. The only thing I used to have trouble finding here was Mambas, but they have them now on the candy isle.

For being one of the main customer service booth representatives, she sure does not have great customer service skills. My wife and I have had several negative experiences the past few years with the same person (blonde middle-age, again runs the booth and on rare occasions may help bag). Usually I do not do reviews, but after so many experiences unfortunately this negative one is warranted. Often she is rude, has been accusatory during returns and is constantly on her personal cell phone. In the past I have waited at the booth for several minutes while shes in the back scrolling on her phone, and have had to ask the uscan employee to call her up as she is not being attentive to working. I have experienced her talking on her cellphone when I approach the booth and she has a negative tone when she asks what I need. To be honest, I really do not mind personal cellphone use when its slow, though she is constantly on it and is simply non-attentive and rude. I only need to do a return maybe two times a year, and on those rare occasions have felt the need to be on the defensive when she is helping. When we see she is running the booth, we expect a negative experience.

Fresh produce

On 2/21/23 I shopped for 7 items for myself but cashier (Kiri?)apparently did not close out my transaction, and I was charged for the person behind me as well. My total was around $19 and my bank app shows $91 debit for this! I ve spoken with manager 3 times and he keeps putting me off. I ve spoken to Kroger headquarters who has been no help either. Somebody needs to fix this problem asap because I and I m sure your other customers do not have the extra $ to cover these types of mistakes.

Smiths there no Walmart and I like that.

This was from a Smiths in a very nice neighbourhood where I shop frequently but never in my 63 years of age has an artichoke that literally had spines like a fish. They were hard as a fish bone rib cage and looked like it too!! Very sharp scaly and I choked on them getting stuck in my throat. Artichoke is my favorite food and I was so disappointed. Yuck!

Easily accessible for handicap parking, nice wide isles clean and orderly, well stocked, friendly employees, I like this store better than the one closest to me. Will probably shop here instead of the one by me.

Ive been disappointed lately. They dont have any 70-75% lean grass fed hamburger. Dont have organic bacon. Ghee butter.

A facelift doesn t hide the trash they sell. It s all processed packaged garbage- save for the sad looking produce section. I won t be back.

Its a Smiffs, not at all dissimilar to any of the others. The other East Sandy location on 9400 S Highland Drive is much, much more bougie. Im equidistant to either but I chose this Smiffs because it has no controlled intersections. I dont care much for traffic. That being said, this place has the warmest beer cooler in the city, if not the state. It wouldnt surprise me if an independent grocery store beer cooler testing lab came back to report that this very cooler was the warmest grocery store beer cooler in the entire country. They know about it, theyre just unwilling to spend what they need to to correct it. MY ADVICE: Buy beer here when you know you have 24 hours to get it drinkable yourself. Dont buy if its going into a cooler filled with ice you also buy at this Smiffs. Otherwise, Im happy with it.

I love this Smiths. They have great produce and we regularly check the app for coupons so we get discounts. Unfortunately, today I had to get balloons for a sick daughter. I waited for a half an hour while 2 different associates paged for help at the floral area. Also didnt ask me what color string I wanted and went ahead and picked one avoiding eye contact. I asked to change the color and she did. Seriously the customer service has gone downhill from where it was a year ago.

This used to be a nice store, but Kroger has become too cheap to staff it. You have one person expected handle 6 self checkout registers and shockingly it causes slowdowns at the register.

Smith s, always running behind and doing things wrong. Extremely tight aisles now, and additionally, now they want you to pay $0.75 for cash back. Lol

So Someone higher up was yelling about apples at someone today like belligerently about it and it was loud enough I could hear it on the store floor. It stopped me cold seems very unprofessional and as a customer I dont like hearing that while shopping been going here for 20+ years sense I was a teen and now I might not comeback idk if he was yelling at a co worker or customer but I heard it clear as day

Its a great store very clean high selection I recommend the sushi selection they have quality and descent portion size even with the sashimi. Pokie bowls look so good. Produce section is huge and so colorful with a terrific selection of in season items. The baker got the bagels and donuts on point along with there bread and other items. You really need to check this Smiths out if your in the area. The staff has been really nice and friendly to me and others that I have noticed. So come on down come on down. Great jobs Smiths.

I ve seen rats/mice there a few times. I ve also found holes in bread bags and chip bags. They really need a whole revamp at this store.

High price

This is my go-to store for groceries. The store is generally clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly. I wish the self checkouts had larger areas to hold merchandise. Im accustomed to Krogers back east and they had larger self checkout areas to place your bagged groceries. The parking lot is large and not as congested as other stores.

One of the employees who rides a red Harley keeps parking in the striped zone between handicap spots, which are meant to be left unoccupied so that disabled persons can enter and exit their vehicle. Despite filing feedback on Smith s website, this continues to happen and I see it nearly every time I go there to shop.

I prefer doing pickup and used to go the Draper location and hardly ever had issues with them. But this location is closer so I ve been using them and DEFINITELY am going back to driving further and going to Draper. 1. They often pick the worst produce! I get it every once in awhile, but I ve had a bad experience almost everytime. Rotten strawberries, over ripe kiwis, soft apples, etc. 2. I ve ordered two salad kits. One was expired and the other was missing all the toppings 3. I just ordered a fruit drink today and went to take a big swig and immediately had to spit it out. It was expired by almost 2 weeks! Once again, I get that accidents happen. But this is too many accidents . I get that I could just return the items, but there is a reason I m doing pickup definitely not going back

I went in for dry ice. They told my to go through the only checkout line that was open. There were 5 people in line already. I didn t have 30 Min to wait so I asked again a girl who was just standing around. She told me that he was the only one with a scale. I asked if we could use the self checkout and she said no. I then ask if there was another checker also to help the other customers waiting in line and speed it up for us all. She said there was no other checker. This is pathetic. Teach your employees some customer service and train some other people how to run a check stand.

I try to buy all of my groceries here because it is so conveniently close, fast, and a very pleasant shopping experience. The food is fresh, the smiles are genuine, and the lines are short.

I live 3 blocks from the Smiths at 2000 E and 9400s but I drive an extra 2 miles to this store because it is so neat and well stocked and they are NEVER out of anything I want. I ve shopped at the other location the entire 17 years I ve lived in Sandy but this store has really gone downhill the last year. Finally got tired of trying to work around aisles full of stock people who are rude and unhelpful and empty shelves. It is worth the extra drive time to enjoy this lovely well stocked store.

The people are great. This smiths has the worst management. I usually go to 9400. Way better store. 9400 is well signed well stocked and obviously better managed I went for the first time in 4 months. Still same manager who stands around and talks with employees while lines to check out get longer. Amazing how bad this store is

This Smiths is my favorite grocery pharmacy store ever. So welcoming, clean, well stocked and familiar. The people who work here are genuinely thoughtful and helpful. My first choice for where to get my covid vaccine. I made the right choice and the experience was as good as it ever could have been. The tech was very reassuring and made me feel secure with his knowledge and experience. I put my trust in him and he did not let me down. The way I see it there is more than one store with si liar products to choose from, I shop where the good people are working and where I feel like my business matters.

I love Smiths. They have quality food, a nice selection of items, and great prices. Their digital coupons are very convenient and their gas discounts are great!

Went for shot; waited 45 min after scheduled apt time. Staff behind counter very short/abrupt/rude, and overworked.

I really like this location but my husband forgot to pickup our groceries last night and I got a call this morning with a rude employee on the other end.. I understand its annoying that it wasnt picked up but I was super embarrassed and told her I would pick it up tonight. Its not hard to hear an attitude over the phone... again, were sorry it wasnt picked up but I dont think that thats how good employee service should be...

Went to fill a prescription, shopped for an hour and not ready still. Left and sent daughter back to store, another hour waiting. Once she was helped they only had 2 pills to give her and said to come back tomorrow. Looks like the vaccine mandate and extra costs for unvaxxed is taking a toll.

This smiths has a few good employees, the problem is they are never staffed, they have only one pharmacist which often times is behind, like not a few minutes, even when you go to pick up the prescription when it says it s done it s never done. They are always out of stuff more than not. Save yourself some time and go to a different location.

Typical Smiths. I went there to get a booster shot. Service at the pharmacy was a bit confused but it all got worked out ok.

First time ever trying pick up and I don t not recommend at all. Most of the produce I got was bad. As easy as a return sounds I m sick and on quarantine. I had a family member pick it up and drop of the items to me. I would not recommend using this Smiths for pick up or drop off delivery. It might be better at other locations though.

This store is of little use as they dont follow their own policies on curbside pickup. They were given authority to substitute and somehow had no other choices for frozen pizza, lettuce or potato chips. We will be using Macys now.

This is the dirtiest Smiths in the whole valley! I went to the deli and all the sides looked about a week old. I asked for pastrami and they said there out, even though there was a new in the package one right in front of me. I just didnt want to deal with the lazy worker so I left. Then I go to get meat at the cheese area and the mortadella was a month expired. The whole place is just dirty and run down when you compare it to all the other stores around it. Im never going back

Bakery didn t prepare our pre ordered cake, BC went above and beyond letting my son pick his own cake wrote his name on it and saved the birthday!!

I am 65 and went to Smiths Wednesday morning at 7am, for seniors. The first thing I did was go to the front of the store to get toilet paper, they had plenty. I was told I had to go through the line to get it. The customer service person said I should do my shopping then go through the line. I said I would be mad if the toilet paper was out. And it was out. It should be a first come first serve. I recommend the signage should read the limit so nobody would take more than the limit. If they take more than the limit the teller can take the amount over the limit out and set it aside to be restocked. Or the computer system could flag customers who go through the line over and over again. I will probably not shop at Smiths for anything until they change the process.

Love this store! Everything is always fresh

I shopped at this store today and I was impressed with the efforts that all of the employees were putting into our fight of this new virus. All of the employees that I saw were wearing masks. There was an employee stationed and wiping down the shopping carts. Probably 80% of the customers were making an effort and wearing face masks. I wish the other 20% were kept out of the store until this pandemic is over. Smiths should put in the same policy as Costco. If you have no face shield preventing your spit from landing everywhere, then dont come into our local store increasing the risk for everyone. It isnt too much to ask. This store was doing a great job.

This Smiths location was recently remodeled and the results are really nice. The produce section is just beautiful, and the upgrades they made to the bakery and deli areas move this store to the next level. They even added a sushi counter as well as a counter for your more exotic cheeses. If you havent seen it, you need to get in there!

Excellent food and customer service

The item organization here makes no sense at all. Aluminum foil is on the same aisle as toilet paper for whatever reason. We almost ditched our cart to go to a different store. We cant be the only ones who feel this way and you are likely losing money due to unintuitive store organization.

There is an older gentleman that stocks the shelves, he is always super friendly and helpful. I wish I could remember his name (Dennis maybe?). The reason I only give 4 stars is the shopping carts with the infant car seat docks are placed behind all of the other carts and make them impossible to get to. As a mother this is really frustrating and I have to make several trips to the store throughout the week because I can only fit a few items in the normal carts with the car seat in the basket. I have brought this to the customer service managers attention and nothing has changed. Bummer.

The frieght crew lets the ice cream melt while throwing frieght. Ice cream is always crystallized and the ice cream is ruined. I suggest only pulling one pallet out at a time while throwing, otherwise the whole pallet is ruined. Wont buy ice cream at this location anymore.

One the worst stores to shop on weekends. All to often empty shelves, end up going to the other store. This store appears not to get an update like the other Smiths in the valley.

Just remodeled

I am very, very upset about the prices at Smiths pharmacy. I had got eye drops after having cataract surgery and paid $130.00 for the prescription. After I got home I researched the eye drops and could of got them for $60.00 with the GoodRX coupon at Walmart which would of saved me $80.00. I did that when I had the 2nd eye done and just paid $60.00. I also got another prescription that was $30.00 more than Walmart with GoodRX. I have been shopping here for years and now I have to research everywhere when I have my prescriptions filled. Sad!

Smiths is always a pleasure to shop. Well stocked & friendly. helpful employees. My cashier, Zach, went above & beyond & was super helpful.

I love Smiths. Very close and has all the items I usually buy. The only caveat is, you have to check Use By or Best By dates. Ive found canned goods a year out of date and fresh goods like green bologne.

Good market close to home with a nice app for seeing prices, adding coupons and adds. They generally have helpful and nice employees and decent parking. My go to store. I love the red and yellow label clearance items.

As soon as they fix the lighting and the self check out, Ill give them 5 stars. When I first walked in I thought they were closed and almost walked back out. I was stopped by another patron and involved they were in fact open. The self checkout was not open and they had two cashiers working and very long lines. The cashier was very friendly and apologized for the wait and the lights.

Worst service ever. My 12, 10, 9, 7, and 1year old kids walked up to the bakery counter and looked behind the counter for a Baker to ask for a cookie and the guy behind the deli counter yelled across the deli Dont go back there! Get out of here! I looked over at him and told him they are children asking for a cookie. He then says wheres the baker? Then walked over to my kids and yelled at them again saying can I hear a please? I then said to him maybe you should say please instead of yelling at children that are customers. He didnt reply and my kids and I walked away. I then walked over to the customer service counter to speak to a manager or store director to let them know that their deli guy is yelling at children over a cookie which they never got. So beware of the deli and bakery depts at this Smiths you may get yelled at over a cookie. Never shopping there again.

The employees who work in the pharmacy are really fine people, despite the fact that corporate is trimming down open hours so the workers have to do just as much with less time, which forces patients to wait longer. Weve been going for years and have only had positive experiences with everyone there. They all deserve a raise!

Nice enough place. Staff is polite and professional. You have to be careful at the register sale items dont ring up at the posted sale price.

Smiths is always clean and bright. They had some great deals, and it was very easy to navigate through their store. Their employees were super friendly.

I normally enjoy shopping at Smiths, which is why I came out of my way during a lunch break. But the cold drink selection is as far away from the lunch area as possible. Literally from one wall of the store to the other. Makes a quick lunch break not so quick. Also, the store has a bad stench.

Excellent selection in all areas of the store. Friendly and helpful staff if needed. Points for gasoline also a big help and price saver.
