I love this store! They always have amazing produce and the staff is excellent!
I have been coming to the store for years and have become quite disappointed with their lack of customer service, especially in the evenings. All they do is sit around on their cell phones and let people steal from the store. During the holidays you couldn't even find a shopping cart, yet the cart storage areas were full. There are never any baskets available, either. Today, I spoke with an assistant store manager, Ashley, about the improvement suggestions I'd like to see and her irritated response was "I'd like to see them too". It's too bad. I'll go shop at Macy's or Dan's if they don't care about loyal customers who spent hundreds per month.
Go eat here. Best tacos and burritos around. Please make them famous!
Me and my mom went in to place an order for a custom cake at the bakery on a Thursday 12/12. My mom worked with a really pleasant employee who said that the cake would be ready for pick up on 12/14. The gal was really sweet, gave us pricing, and we set pick up for noon 12/14. This was for my college graduation celebration party. In the midst of everything my mom ran out of time to pick the cake up so she sent my brother around 2 pm. When he got there the gal he talked to was rude, insisting it must be a different location. He called me and I assured him he was at the right location, the girl seemed frantic and irritated again reiterating that the cake wasn’t there and they had no record of the order. I told my brother I wasn’t sure if my mom had already paid for it thinking maybe we could use her phone number or receipt to look up the order. As soon as he said that it seemed like confirmation to her that we were wrong and she told him it couldn’t have been Smiths because they don’t have you prepay for cakes. I could hear her tone of voice through the phone call she was so ridiculously rude to him. Even after explaining it was impossible that we had placed the order anywhere else, as we had placed the order in store she said “I don’t know what you want me to do”. I told my brother not to worry about it, guests were already here and to just buy a premade cake. Then today 12/16 my mom gets a call asking if she still wanted the cake. From the same store, from the original gal who was really nice. My mom explained what had happened and they asked who helped my brother, none of us know her name. She said she had told 3 people the cake was in the fridge. So apparently they never bothered to check the fridge? I don’t really know what’s going on there and why there was no trace of the order or why they think it’s okay to talk to customers like that. All I know is that they offered my mom and brother no solution and we paid 25 for a cake we didn’t want that was too small to serve all our guests. I’m not usually one to leave reviews but it broke my heart to see my mom trying to do a sweet thing for me just to have it back fire. People order custom cakes to celebrate, and when that celebration is met with attitude and confusion it’s really frustrating. I’m not saying don’t order a cake here, but I guess if you do make sure you know the name of the employee you placed the order with to prevent confusion. My brother told the rude gal what time and day it was placed and she couldn’t be bothered to check the schedule or reach out to anyone.
Since when are the employees better than the customers. This store judges people by appearance. Just because I'm in dirty clothes does not mean I am going to steal something. I went I after work looking like a bum. I was followed and watched the entire time I was at the store not only by security but staff of smiths. Is this how you treat people at all if your stores. I make more than ten smiths employees and to be treated like that because of appearance is wrong. I don't have this problem when I'm not in dirty clothes so please do yourself a favor and realize it's people who work hard and get dirty is who keep this country going. It's not the lazy, crap talking, judgmental people who can't mind their own business and that think they are better than everyone else who is ruining our country. This is a headquarters.
The self-checkouts have become nearly unusable due to the new AI anti-theft systems. They are slow, frequently glitch, and often fail to process items correctly, leading to long wait times as an employee must approve your actions multiple times throughout the checkout process. Additionally, the service at the deli counter could use improvement. Les, in particular, works at a slower pace and often spends more time conversing with coworkers than assisting customers. On one occasion, I asked for Boar’s Head Roast Beef, and when asked to clarify which specific product, I was met with an eye roll and a comment: “Just say the whole name, it’s not that hard.” While I understand the need for precise product names, I believe interactions with customers should remain professional and courteous. These issues with both the self-checkouts and customer service make the shopping experience more challenging than it needs to be.
I have had nothing but great experiences here until lately. Checkers are rude.. the bagger was quite aggressive and snarky. We spend about $900 a month at this location.. and we will travel further just so we don’t have to deal with rude people. To set the scene.. your case lot is happening right now. So I went in to grab a few things. Cashier wouldn’t ring it as case lot.. that’s fine but, it’s not. The box was open? Go look at your cases.. they are open. So, I didn’t get my extra 10% off for the case lot. I understand life isn’t great for everyone but it’s spilling on to your customers. 1 time is one thing. But this is every single week recently.
The woman who makes special-occasion cakes in the bakery is amazing. We've LOVED every single one...her attention to detail is the literal and figurative icing on the cake at our kids' birthday parties and help make them feel extra special on their big day.
I love the free healthy snack for kids! Usually oranges, bananas, and apples to choose from. And not the bad ones either. Could use some more steering wheel carts... Though the upgrade to 2 is awesome!

The gas station employees are always either on a bathroom break every time or on glued to the phone sitting in the hut every time standing outside in 20 degrees. and dont know simple math to return correct change. The tall guy with glasses is ok.

Update: absolutely DONE! In the majority of my visits, while actively saving the mega corporation on labor cost, I am REPEATEDLY treated like a thief at the self check out. I will NOT return to any Kroger store as long as they use this brain dead AI spyware. DONE! Last straw. Morning of Christmas Eve, grab just a few items, pull my wallet from my chest pocket to pay, and Im locked out because I reached into my pocket for payment! I spend thousands upon thousands upon thousands of $ every year for over 15 yrs at this store and almost every visit Im accused of being a dirty, low-life, no integrity theif. What a way to earn patronage. Not one more cent to Kroger. Old review: Been going to this location for years and years. That being said, I hate this location. Im fed up with the bait and switch false advertising. When selecting products based on cost, its extremely aggravating how often the wrong price is labeled on the shelf. Every couple of months (if not more often) I get to the register and it charges double the price. If you bother them to do a price check, yes theyll match the labeled price. But i am tired of dealing with that. No one likes inconveniencing everyone in line like that or inconveniencing themselves. As often as I catch the false advertising, it makes me wonder how many people regularly get charged more than they were promised by a price tag. Its a scam, its unethical, its taking advantage. Dont put prices on the shelf unless thats whats going to show up when scanned.

Judy the cashier who helped check me out today was rude & accused my 3 year old of stealing! I assured her that he hadn t taken anything and she didn t believe me. I was shocked and disappointed. Every employee I have encountered at this location has been kind and patient, Judy was neither of those things.

I am being repeatedly harassed by an employee, totally unprovoked. Ive been coming here for 27 years and Ive never seen professional courtesy drop so low. (Everyone else here is awesome.) I would love a phone call if you had the time.
Amy at the Pharmacy was at least irresponsible. My doctor called them this morning and had the same positive answer, so I called this morning to make sure they had the flu shot vaccine and she confirmed over the phone saying that they had it, I acted surprised because it s very hard to find this vaccine around this time of the year so I made sure to ask again if they did have it and she said yes. I drove 30 minutes to get this flu shot and when I get there, she (Amy) checked the fridge and said I m sorry we don t have it Her job was to move her foot out of the computer (which is literally taking one step to the right) to confirm that they did had this vaccine and she didn t, which sounds very negligent with customers (specially with someone that drove so far away to get this done). I m making sure that I m never coming back there.

Store itself is ok, however the grocery pickup has been a nightmare for months now. They don t send me substitute requests anymore for items. At least every other week, they call me and say they are short handed and that my pickup time is super delayed. They have even sent me home with the wrong set of groceries before and when I called to let them know they had me come right back to bring the wrong groceries back and told me I wouldn t be able to get my groceries until the person who has mine brings them back. I understand being short handed once in awhile, but it s consistently happening. I ve been doing grocery pickup for several years at this location and I will prob start going elsewhere from now on unless they can figure out their system.
Love the actual store and cashiers are the best here! But the Pickup has been a joke since it started! Whether I go weeks or months in between trying to do it they push my time back and once even pushed me to the next day and when I call to ask they say to order a day ahead of when you want or need what you re ordering, cause it happens. No remorse, no care about the inconvenience in planning your day around that pick up for them to change it AT THE TIME IM SCHEDULED TO PICK UP. They don t give a heads up they are running behind til you should already be there. I really feel if you have to push orders back hours sometimes a day you definitely know more than 10 minutes before hand that you re not getting that order done In that 10 minutes that it should be done

Ive done some pickup orders recently from this location, each time they dont send me any requests for substitutes, but then they would substitute at least one thing without notifying me. When I arrived to the store, they would come up to my car window, state they had everything from my order, and then I would drive away later finding that they did indeed substitute products and didnt tell me. In addition, they didnt adjust it in my order so it does not reflect the correct product in my receipts. After this has happened a couple of times, I knew it was time to return my few items and start using a different location (literally no big deal dont want any trouble) that really isnt why I am leaving this review. After I had asked someone for help as no one was at the counter, an older guy with a grateful dead pin approached the counter. He was pretty hostile from the start, probably had a bad day, I wish he didnt feel the need to take it out on me. I explained my situation as concise as possible. He said soooo is this a return???, I said yes, lets return the items and he asked me for a receipt, then I tried asking him about the receipt on my app and explained how the products on my receipt are different because the pickup staff did not reflect it on the receipt. I tried showing him the receipt on my app and he said I dont know what THIS is?!?!? inferring that I was confusing him about using the Smiths app on my phone. I stopped talking, and I didnt know what he needed from me, but he was already scanning the items and processed the return without using my app or receipt so I kept my head down and decided to just get the situation over with so I could get out of there. Very hostile interaction that made me extremely uncomfortable. Grateful dead pin guy- I hope you had a better day today.
Hate the AI self checkout and its the night before super bowl Sunday and they have 1 checker open to help you . I counted the guy at the self checkout out coming to scan his badge 6 times to help us cause the system kept stalling . This smiths is the worst. Have lived here 17 years and the past 2 have been really bad here , will go else where from now on I dont have time for it .

I ve been shopping at this Smiths since it opened in 1979. Seriously! It s so sad to me to see how far it has slipped the place is filthy, several (not all) employees act bored or uninterested in any degree of friendly interaction. And don t get me started on Kroger s deceptive and tricky specials .why do I need to scan a QR code to get a special price? Or buy 5 of something I don t need to get a deal? I m just tired of playing the game in this dirty, sneaky store. Sadly, I ll be looking for a different place to shop going forward. :(
Customer service and the level of professionalism in their employees has plummeted in the last five years despite having all the same managers. Skip the hassle and go to Walmart or another smiths.

Every time Ive been in Smiths they are always helpful and friendly. Love that someone is always cleaning or filling the shelves with more products. Definitely one of my favorite Smiths to shop at.
Jackson has been my like father at smiths. Matthew is not like my dad but like a grandpa father. Sweaty and caring just like I need. Dustin is the best man Ive seen maybe at a wedding. If I had a bird I would trust them. I love it when they are working. I only go when they work because of the caring and sweatness. Jacksons seems to be working hard on himself as his appearance has improved. Matthew has a hat but I dont know why, Ive never seen his hair and I would love too. I like Dustin as he is.

The older male representative at customer service had a condensending attitude when I asked a simple question when I made a return. The rest of the services in the store are fine.
Since they have gone to online coupons its pretty annoying. Winco has better prices and they dont track you, or your spending.
Great Smiths, the store is modern and the layout is setup as to make it easy to find what you want (we all know the layout is for the stores benefit, as in put the Milk in the back of the store bread on the opposite so that you have to pass all the rows of product until you get there) from fresh produce to hair dye. The pharmacy is fast and accurate as well as friendly. the meat and seafood counter are nicely stocked appear fresh and has all your favorites ready to go. You can never forget the fully functional Starbucks. Caramel Frappuccino anyone? I recommend this store and you will have a pleasant shopping experience.

The last several weeks Ive bought beef that went bad in my fridge within 2 or 3 days and BEFORE the sell by date. Changes color and smells rotten! Are they repackaging meat that goes unsold??

We just finished our Thanksgiving shopping for produce and other essentials for the holiday. Were writing to give kudos to Barry in the produce section. It was very busy and crowded, but the produce section was immaculate and very well stocked. Barry took the time to help us with fresh produce and his genuine positive attitude was amazing. He really enjoys his job and shares his great attitude with all the customers. Thank you Barry!
I was there roughly 10 minutes ago and the girl bagging my groceries was incredibly rude. Every time I go to this store, something happens and Im now to the point, Im not going in again. Ever. I hate this store.

I have shopped at this store since I moved to Utah 20 years ago but lately it seems they are out of items more & more frequently. Today is Friday one of the busiest shopping days. I was there at noon and they were out of 4 of the 13 items on my list: Hawaiian sweet rolls Bob Evans mashed potatoes Tarte cherry juice in bottle Kroger rainbow sherbert. This is happening so often but then I go down the street to the one on1300 East and they have everything in stock. I found all my items at that store today. I hate to change stores because the one on 9400 & 2000e is much closer to my house and I love the ladies in the deli here but this is very frustrating.

It s a busy one. They don t have water bottle refill fountains. At least not that I could find. A lady s bag of 24 water bottles broke right when I walked in too. Didn t get a chance to check out the bathrooms, but a pretty standard Smith s if you ask me.

It is a decent priced store with a great app with coupons and gas deals. It is also nice that it is close and is open almost all of the time you need something.

Your Sushi variety sucks
I understand today is Thanksgiving and nobody wants to work but I absolutely floored by one of the cashiers behaviour here. I had thanked them for working Thanksgiving as we had some last minute things to grab before dinner would be ready and this cashier proceeds to tell me that they had come back from Africa and that we would have survived without the extra things we needed for Thanksgiving dinner all while practically glaring daggers and I felt as though I was being scolded by this woman. I have worked in the customer service industry for my entire career and I could NEVER talk to a customer like that. Please dont schedule people on holidays that will act like this and overall lower your reputation within your community.
Very very small Christmas candy section, and most of the Christmas candy was on the top shelf not down were I could reach it
This review used to be a 5. If I could rate less than a 1, I would. The management has gone down hill: The store could use cleaning, fresher produce, and more professional staff. The staff spend more time joking around than addressing customers needs. They spend long periods of time outside taking smoke breaks, and they are not discreet in their conversations with one another. Ive begun to limit shopping here, and now go out of my way to shop at Harmons and Wholefoods.

And now I get to do a walk of shame back into the store only to find out the last green apple is gone, so thanks guys. Ive shopped at this store since 1980. Happy shopping here, until lately. Its all about Kroger Brand, Im not a fan. It would be nice to have a choice. Also..Being single, I dont like buying bakery items, meats & seafood in large quantities. Just not the same friendly Store it once was!!
The say the store is going through a remodel . It looks terrible inside. They were out of the very first item we wanted, some cereal. We left and went to a different market that had stocked shelves and everything we wanted.
I asked where was your seasonal isle but no thanks giving decor.

My husband went to the Ft. Union store and bought what was labeled Rib Eye but it was a very tough strip steak. I called the butcher and he said he would take care of me if I brought in the receipt. My question is why that was labeled as it was.

Dont waste your time coming to this location, the workers here are extremely rude and will follow you around telling everyone to watch you when you have done nothing wrong. The old fat blonde broad acts like she is in middle school and gossips about each customer that walks by her and shell make sure you hear her rude comments about you.
Smiths in general is going downhill, but this location in particular is pretty bad. And now during the pandemic, they dont make their employees or their customers wear masks. The smaller Reams down the street does, so Ill be sticking with them from now on.
I have shopped at the store st 9400S and 2000E since I moved to Utah 16 years ago but this store has really changed recently. They are out of items on my list more frequently than in the past. Today after noticing customers without a mask, I asked the cashier why they are not following the Governors mandate on masks and why they no longer sanitize their carts. The customer in front of me also asked the same question. We were both told that corporate is afraid they might lose business. At Harmon s or Reams there is someone near the door requesting customers wear a mask and directing us to a freshly sanitized cart. I m disappointed that Smiths doesn t feel the safety of their customers should take top priority.

This is one of the BEST stores, in my most humble & honest opinion! (It s also one of the cleanest & most widely-stocked.) The employees work VERY hard there, to serve their communities & their customers, in providing the BEST produce, meat, cheeses, household items, & other such needed goods. (One only needs to stop & observe - to see just how hard the employees work, to bring the essentials to the shelves, so that the rest of us can have what we need to stay alive, healthy, & strong.) Thank you Smith s - a big Thank You goes out especially, to all of the employees who work hard to make the store functional, on a day-to-day basis. Without you & all of your hard work, there would be nothing to sell, nothing to buy, & no essentials & necessary goods to supply your communities & your shoppers with.

Why do my toes hurt? I ll tell you. Smiths. It has come to my attention that smiths makes your toes hurt. I tested this theory and it worked. Just believe me. Pharmacy guy won t tell me why my toes hurt and it made me mad. What other secrets do they keep from us?
They have mask rules outside of the building clearly stating that they will enforce the mandate rules. Twice in one week Ive needed things and went to this store. Both times there were people walking around without a mask and employees were just watching them and not saying anything. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SHOPPING HERE UNTIL THEY TRULY ENFORCE THIS MATTER. This is a health issue and if they (Smiths) dont care about it then theyre helping the spread of this virus. Were in a pandemic. Im not shopping here anymore until they fix this. Shameful.

I bought a roasted chicken. HUGE mistake. It was literally one-half the size of a Costco roasted chicken and almost twice the cost. Additionally, the purple onion I bought was rotten in the middle. I threw it away. I will boycott Smiths in the future.

Just your average everyday grocery store. Staff are friendly enough and not over-the-top fake friendly, which I appreciate. Sometimes you can find items on sale here for cheap. Ridiculously cheap. Thats awesome.
I had a great experience at this location today. I went in looking for a specific item. I tiny carton of buttermilk to make dressing. There was none on the shelf. There were three employees near by. One was stocking the area and another looked like he was possibly a manager. They were all friendly and willing to answer my questions. I asked if they had any buttermilk and it seems that the buttermilk in the smaller cartons had been damaged. However, they wanted to be sure I had what I needed. They sent the gentleman stocking shelves in to the back room and he came out with a delicious local brand of buttermilk in the gallon size. They said that although I was looking for the smaller container they would sell me the larger one for the same price. It isnt often you get much of anything free now days. It was a small gesture, but it did make my day better. And I got to make my dressing so it was a win-win. Five stars for excellent customer service today.

I had to pick up 3 fruit platteran, muffins, pastries and bagels for an event I was sponsoring and they were ready, perfect and very friendly and helpful staff!! The fruit was fresh and muffins moist and just delicious, thank you for your wonderful work!!
It was not good you guys have raised prices on every item in your store and a head of lettuce should never be over a dollar
OK today, but in 3 days when they stop accepting a visa credit cards, I will no longer shop there.
It is very disappointing to me that, as a long term customer, Smith s would tell me (and everyone else) that they are no longer taking Visa because it s too expensive in hopes to pressure them to lower their fees when it actually appears to be a ploy to sell their own MasterCard to increase their profits. With other options close by, count me out of their scam.
Friendly staff. Even the manager is not afraid to bag groceries. I love their meat and their bakery. My favorite is their cookie bites - 14 wonderfully fresh and soft cookies for only $1.59 and yes theyre small.
The cashier at Smiths was HORRIBLE! I wont mention her name but she was so rude I wont be back!!!

Its a grocery store. Midlevel grocery store. Not too fancy, not too chintzy. This is a slightly more upscale Smiths than some others. My only complaint is that this one isnt very well organized. It always seems like Im having to circle the store to get everything I need.

Absolutely the worst pharmacy Ive ever been to. They never have prescriptions ready when they are supposed to be, they are always under staffed. Always and I mean always a long line.
Shopping here is fine, but I have an issue with some of the staff at the location. Specifically, the cashier that works nights at the self checkout station (grouchy, perm, crocs etc). Last night I walked in to buy groceries around 9pm and was treated to a lovely story about another customer who always comes in at 11:55, right as they are closing to shop. In her story she recounted how the lady uses food stamps all the time to buy her groceries. She then implied that the other customer was also a thief and was stealing from the store. As a CUSTOMER SERVICE associate, I find it incredibly rude that she would judge a customer that harshly, then talk about it where other customers can hear about it.
Would love more gluten free products. They seem to be dwindling as of late.
Was able to get all of my grocery list at Smiths. Appreciated the mushrooms being on sale.

Dont know where to find most items on my list. Aisles too small. BUT, Ive found items I have been looking for for months. Like Boars Head chorizo. And they have tonic water.

It is not ok that they post this store to be open 24 hrs it is NOT and It is incovienant to drive there and find it closed when online it says open 24hrs that makes this store not my favorite its 2 blocks from my home and it closes at midnight now I hate it

I went there looking for a specialty item and 3 items for their weekends only sale thats almost over. They had everything I needed, the store was well-stocked and the staff was delightful!
We went there for a rotisserie chicken. We got the large garlic and herb flavor. It was delicious. The checker was fast and courteous. Good experience.

More expensive products than Walmart, though competitive with Maceys and Fresh Market. But you dont have to stand in a checkout line for 15-30 minutes, even in Self Checkout. My time is valuable.

If you arent open 24hr, then you need to stop advertising that you are. Literally drove out of our way to get here since it was the only one open. To then be rudely affronted by two employees when they said you guys better hurry up the moment we walked through the door, and when we stated that they advertised 24hr. They replied with that they hadnt been 24hr for how ever long. We are from out of town how were we supposed to know that? You seriously need to train your night staff some customer service. 100% would never recommend this location and I was in there for 5 seconds.
Usually a great place to shop
Went to grab some groceries and decided to grab a cake for my mothers birthday. Asked for them to write Happy Birthday on the cake and the guy said Im not authorized to write on your cake. I guess he explained he was training but still very disappointed that there was no one that could provide this service. Cashier was excellent. She was empathic to my needs. Pricing for groceries is great. Dont go to their bakery.

It would have been 5 stars, but my bagger was extremely rude as I asked her not to take my personal bags out of the cart, I called her hon, big mistake. She said dont call me hon, shoved her name badge in my face and walked off to bag my groceries. The man checking me out was a manager, I told him, he apologized for her, she then walked away and left me to bag my own groceries till another very nice young guy came and finished bagging my groceries. Ive never had a Smiths employee treat me that way in the 20 years I have been shopping there. If I had not been picking up stuff for someone else, I would have walked away and left the groceries, thats how rude she was and how upset she got me. She then tried to apologize as I was walking out of the store. I will be avoiding that Smiths in future, which is unfortunate as everyone else was lovley.
