Im specifically reviewing Banfield Pet Hospital. They have a program that resembles pet health insurance, which other veterinarians dont offer. I would suggest looking into it. I had to take our Shih Tzu to the vet hospital as she was bleeding out of her mouth. $700 later, nothing was fixed, but we had x-rays done and meds given. That is the same price as the Banfield pet insurance. If I had known, I would have gone straight there. I would have been able to save $700 on the other medical bills we just incurred. Im rating them a 4/5 because of how expensive the operation of teeth cleaning and extraction was on top of the $700 insurance cost. I would recommend any pet owner sign up for this program as it still saved me a lot of expenses. They bill you monthly, so its not an upfront cost. Hope this helps.

Bad customer service I came into Petsmart to make a large purchase (just over $250 after discounted deals) Petsmart had sales going on so I would have be engaging in multiple deals. For one particular deal, I was short by two cents. The cashier told me that Petsmart honors discrepancies when it s so little and the manager was called over to do the override. When the floor manager arrived, he was very rude and said they would not honor it, but I could buy more items in order to secure that rebate discount. His behavior was so poorly, that I ended up only purchasing a handful of unrelated items. My daughter was coming up to the register with our cart of even more items but ai told her just to put them back. We ended up going over to Petco and spending a whole bunch of money over there - Money that could ve been Petsmart s if the guy hadn t had a power trip over two cents. We are a household of pets and like to spoil them. Today wasn t a splurge by any means. Ive spent well over that amount many times before in one trip. Going forward, we are now loyal Petco customers. Petsmart- your loss.

Good place to get pet stuff of course.

Your store smells so good, its clean. Our pup had a bad groomer and experience and semi peed on an employee who was being nice to her, and your staff was so wonderful and professional. It is so nice to go into a store where the staff greet you, pet your pup, and exhbit genuine Joy to help you.

Had them put our dog down. They were so understanding and compassionate. Placed him so peacefully in the box.

On June 2024 at 5:30 p.m. I had a horrible experience with the manager of the store. He refused to sell us a fish even though I have a large enough tank and have had goldfish for over 10 years. Every time I answered one of his questions he responded with a reason why I shouldnt be able to have that fish. He was a complete jackass and if I was a district manager I would fire him right away as he is losing your store money. Its none your business? Why Im buying a goldfish or what I have. They had a 30 gallon tank with 100 fish in it and 20 of them were dead floating in the tank. Extremely hypocritical.

This location is clean and the staff are friendly. That said .. the Bettas are in terrible shape. Half of them are sick/dying. Theyre rotting in their filthy cups. Cups that are full of algae and rotten food. Please take better care of these fish. This isnt normal or kind.

This store is surprisingly AWFUL. Totally mot a kid friendly place. Was racially profiled with entire family by two employees snickering and making inappropriate jokes. Terrible quality service, manager was mediocre with a racist demeanor as none of them tried to make the situation any better after the employees had made the racist comments. GO TO PET CO. Pet/C0

This PetSmart did an excellent job of grooming and caring for my dog Copper. He was happy and very clean when I picked him up. He seemed to love the staff!!

My daughter and I had an hour or so to kill so we went to Petsmart to look at the fish, the birds, the reptiles, and the cutest little rodents. There was one cat up for adoption, so we took a moment to honor her as well. The employees at this store have always been kind and very willing to answer any questions.

Almost everytime Ive come here, they are understaffed, but the workers have always been patient, professional, and kind. This review is no reflection on them at all. The only reason they got four stars are the prices. They have clearly been raised for the majority of their items way higher than needed. Went to look for a water bowl for crickets to keep for my lizard. They wanted $15 for something the size of three quarters. Coming here is never an unpleasant experience, but it oftentimes feels like a necessary evil when you get to the checkout line.

I had a horrible experience on Sunday. I had a worker name Tulsa, who refused to groom my pets, who had an appointment. She wasn t entitled nonworking need a safe space because she did not feel like grooming our dog. Truly I have gone to this facility for over 20 years with all my pets, which she is not aware of. She has an entitled nonworking employee who the manager backed and stated he could not force her to groom our dog, SHE DID NOT FEEL LIKE IT!!! What the hell is wrong with your company Petsmart? Train your managers, train your employees to work, orrrrr stay home if they aren t feeling like working that day You hv allowed employees bring political bias to your customers, judgmental bias, for no reason. They offend your customers they say horrible things and about our pets. Let me remind you, they know nothing about us or our pets. I have been there one time last year, one time a year before, and a different facility three years ago My other pets 20 years at Petsmart This employee had no knowledge of that, because they re stupid I call it like I see it They have a lot of turnover and problems with employees since Covid There has been constant issues that plagued their store stay away All in the name of them not wanting to work. What is wrong with this picture? I would ve purchased 400 that day for things needed along with my dog groomed, which I will never go back to the store! My 75 extended family members and their pets Will never go back to your store Everyone is appalled by your lack of any type of service with your very weird employees! Who obviously need a ton of training because they don t understand concept of customers and money to have a job You are paying employees to sit on their lazy, entitled, crazy non-working safe space needing butts!!! The beta fishes and other tanks are some of the dirties I ve ever seen. How is that not animal abuse ? Clean your tanks. They literally live there and you expect them to swim and live in that. It s animal abuse.

Worst grooming salon ever. Have booked so many appointments for grooming, and they have canceled every single time. Not only have they canceled every time, but they have canceled 15 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Don t even waste your time trying to get in here.

As I took my golden doodle in for a regular groom, a friend I had with me said when the back door opened, she had seen one of the groomers man handle one of the dogs behind where the kennels are kept. My dog took 5 HOURS to be finished as the groomer said she was switching back and forth between dogs. I showed them a picture of another golden doodle to compare what we wanted him cut like, and he came out like a STANDARD POODLE! Even the groomer knew he wasn t looking all that great as she gave him back to us and said so he looks a little goofy . On top of that he had a bald irritated red spot next to his eye like it was cut too short. They gave me a free add on for next time because of the wait time, but that is useless because we WONT be coming here again. This broke my heart because my boy was so cute and fluffy. He is a different dog now.

I ve had a great experience getting supplies here, but unfortunately I would not recommend getting a small animal here. We got a dwarf hamster from this location 8 months ago, she s adorable and healthy but even after following every piece of advice on taming we can find online, she is still terrified of us and we have not held her for more than a few seconds at a time. I ve had two other dwarf hamsters before this and they were both fine with being held. I think it s because at PetSmart they just leave them in the cage 24/7 without any human interaction. Next time I will find a home to adopt a hamster from where the owners play with them regularly. Although if you re fine having a pet that won t interact with you, this would be the way to go.

Eliza and Danielle do amazing with my dog! They treat him so well and with a lot of care and they make him look so good! I switch between Eliza and Danielle depending on whos available when I need to schedule, but they both do a great job and are very personable and friendly. My dog is happy and comfortable with them.

Everyone is always nice, friendly and eager to greet my dogs. Selection on dog food and accessories is great too. With the hospital and groomer all in one spot its a one stop shop.

After rescuing a beta about a year ago she finally passed away. Went to PetSmart to find a new one and found an almost dead beta in water so filthy that I couldnt even see the fish. I asked about rescuing this fish rather than paying full price. I knew I was taking the fish home regardless of the price. They started to tell me that they couldnt sell me the fish because the fish was too sick. So basically basically PetSmart would rather throw alive sick fish in the dumpster rather than letting somebody who is very familiar with these kind of fish try to take it home and and and help it recover. Needless to say, I paid full price for the fish. Ive got him into a bigger tank with clean water and doing everything I can to help him survive. I was sad leaving because he wasnt the only one in water so filthy you couldnt even see the fish. I routinely go and pick up the worst looking ones I can find and try to just give them a better life even if its only for a few days.

They were there when it counted. We needed some bandages and a vest to keep my cat from licking a superficial wound he sustained and the employees went over and beyond for us. They were just 3 minutes from closing when things happened and when I called, they not only pulled everything we needed to the register so we could buy it, they stayed open a few minutes late to help us get checked out asap. They didnt have to do this, but, they did, and I appreciate them very much for staying a little later to help out.

Its an impressive store with all that you would need ever for your pet. The reptile segment is one of the biggest that I have ever seen.

The womens restroom is disgusting. Toilet paper on top is the dispenser and paper towel dispenser is broken.. I know they can do better than that. Everything has fallen apart and they don t fix it. They can t take care of a restroom but I m to assume they can take care of animals??

Twice I have taken my dog to grooming.. And both times they say that the dog is not allowed to cut its hair, which is not safe and in the same way I must pay more than half of the cut and they do nothing to it. Additionally they bathe it and do not dry it because the dog is not allowed. My dog always gets grommed and dried and we have no problems just at this shop.

Really impressed with this location. We had to stop and get a new harness because our dog had chewed almost all the way threw his. I was sent a survey and I had just mentioned a few things. The store manager had reached out to me. He was very friendly and helpful I have never had a business reach out like that. I was really impressed. We bought a Kong harness it has been awesome. I will continue to be a customer.

PetSmart seems to be perpetually understaffed . Hard to get help. Ladies that work here are nice but always rushing. Prices are high on some items. Fish dont seem healthy in some tanks.

I love this petsmart and the grooming salon (which is my main reason for visiting so often). We get our dogs nails cut here at least once a month. Friendly groomers and employees. Someone always greets you when you walk into their store. We love this store!

I had to help the clerk with the computer on my return. He was nice, but he was also irritated that I had to help him. Youd think itd be the other way around. Basically, I handled my own return. Everyone is usually nice, though. Im not complaining.

This review is for the grooming department. I m taking away one star for the groomer telling me that my dog gets too matted that she can t be groomed like a poodle and instead recommends a teddy bear haircut. I m taking away one star because the groomer tells me that my dog has too much skin and that I might need to schedule appointments with a vet groomer even though vet says she doesn t have that much skin. Finally I m taking away two stars for cancelling my last grooming appointment and not calling me to let me know. The entire grooming department was out sick that day. Thank you for canceling my appointment because I found a groomer that grooms my dog like a poodle and doesn t complain about her having too much skin. Also the appointment window is one hour instead of four.

Smells weird always but I can find what I need

Ive visited this location multiple times and theyre usually pretty on top of cleanliness, but it was horrifying going in tonight. The cat kennels were disgusting. Some of them were laying in their own feces and vomit, and all had old, dirty water. The smell was atrocious. They were also selling dead bugs (isopods). They had multiple employees idling around the front of the store, not helping customers or the animals and products. It was overall a horrifying and depressing experience.

Worst experience ever!!! Normally when I come here the nicest lady is helping me and she reassures me that my dog is in good hands. Today I must ve gotten unlucky and had the worst employees ever. Didn t even greet me when I walked in the door or talk to me when I made small talk. I am able to be there with my dogs as they get a quick nail clipping every time I have came but this time they insisted that I don t. I told them my dogs have severe anxiety when I am not in the room with them but they did not care about the well being of my animals. When I handed over my animals Annie who was helping me ( who was extremely rude) dragged my dog by the neck across the floor I had to stop her because she was choking her and was clearly in a lot of stress. At that point I was about to grab my dog and leave. I ve never had such a bad experience here and definitely won t be back and will continue to spread the word.

They rejected our 17-lb, 11 mo dog for his first grooming because he needed to be trained. Groom trained? Never heard that one before. If they can t handle him, they probably can t handle yours. We gave him a cut ourselves and only took two of us 1 hr to do. Before refusing our business, they said it would take them 3 hrs. Sounds like they need some training of their own.

Bri, Lauren, Brady, and Trevor are some of the best associates that I have worked with from the customer perspective. The shelves are well stocked, and the aforementioned associates are always happy to help and answer questions, are incredibly friendly, and extremely knowledgeable and patient. Would definitely recommend this location. I have lived a lot of different places, and the Sandy Petsmart is by far the best I have been to. Give those peeps a raise!

There s a lot I can say but I m gonna go with AVOID this place if you have a dog that requires a true profesional. Eliza H. Was pretty rude and stand-offish since the beginning because due to a car accident I was 15 min late saying that they now had 2 hs for a 4 hs appointment (I don t know how 15 min are 2 hs in her books but okay) then said that the best was cut her hair short but that they would try to see if she responded well to the grooming. Well apparently according to them she didn t so 45 min in they called me to pick her up. I leave you with a picture with what my dog looked before and after. Avoid yourself the trouble just don t go here they don t know what they re doing and they will pretend they do. Very unprofessional; this girl tried to charge me for what she had done and they lost my dogs collar so I had to come back and pick It up when they found it. The worst possible experience for a first grooming.

We recently bought a betta and a couple African dwarf frogs from here. We are complete newbies and the staff answered all my questions. Always so helpful and knowledgeable. We re even thinking about parakeets next.

The fish tanks were so dirty and fish were dead. It was terrible snd the the mice and hamsters look sad one was dead and look like she had been there for a few. So sad. Would not recommend.

Worst Grooming Salon I have ever been to. We have two very large breed dogs. This is this first PetSmart that we have been to that cannot manage large breeds. We finally found a groomer there who could handle it and did a GREAT job. Then she left- and other groomers said our giant breed dog was aggressive . She was referring to our party animal, the guy who lays down on the ground for smaller dogs who are afraid of him. Luckily, we found the best grooming salon we have ever been to, who gets our dogs and their temperaments. Our cherished groomer who left would fit in well there. I suppose it worked out in the end- but the staff at the Sandy PetSmart were so rude, I actually feared the safety of my dog. My dog would be at the salon for 3 hours, likely in a too small kennel the majority of the time. My new salon- 1 hour for each dog. This is honestly the worst grooming salon I have been to, with the worst management.

If I could give zero stars I would. We took our adorable, fluffy bernedoodle here and showed them a photo of how we wanted her. We wanted her trimmed but still fluffy with longer hair. They absolutely butchered her and did NOT follow the picture or our instructions AT ALL! They just shaved her from head to toe. Even the buzz cut they did is uneven and horrible! Not to mention it was very overpriced for the work they did. Do not take your dog to get groomed here, very very dissatisfied.

The groomers did a fabulous job on all 5 of my poodles.

I just wanted to take a second to just say how amazing the people are who work at this location, especially Debbie she was so kind in informing me about what I needed to do in order to make sure that my gosh where as happy as could. The rest of the employees where super kind as well and I just want to say thank you!

Terrible grooming experience. First: This was the second time we have been there and both times they just shaved my dog, not trimmed like we asked. Second: he came home after his second grooming from here and he could not sit on his bottom without whimpering or jumping like it hurt. He was very inactive which isn t his normal behavior. He also didn t eat for two days following the grooming. We decided to watch and see how he did for a few days till about 7 days he was still acting this way. We called to see what happen, they said they were unsure and we would get a call back. We got a call back from the manager who said they can pay for a visit to be seen in their banfield locations, although we went to every banfield in the area and all said he can t be seen for over a month. We called again asking what happened that he came back from a simple grooming hurt and yet still no answer and we re told if we go to another clinic and be reimbursed for the visit. We came to find out his tail had been fractured and is taking pain medication. We were reimbursed and got a call from the manager letting us know it can be picked up, yet no one was apologetic for the situation. Severely disappointed in these people who choose to work with animals and hurt them.

Id only buy supplies here. Their pets especially in the fish department look very unhealthy with many floaters in very dirty tanks. I went in to buy dog food and a couple comet goldfish for my pond but there were a bunch of dead fish in those tanks. I asked about buying a goldfish that was in another tank with mollies and was told it wasnt for sale because management uses them to keep the tanks clean. Shouldnt the employees be the ones to keep the tank clean? Ive never heard of using goldfish to clean a tank. I know they are carp but... it was weird. I wish I took some photos of how gross the fish tanks look.

Great customer service here. We needed a special dog food for our chihuahua and couldn t find it. We finally found one on a pallet from their delivery. Two associates helped us out. I just want to say thanks again.

They werent well stocked on pets. I took the family down there to look at different pets and they were limited to cats mice fish and very few reptiles. They have a good stock of supplies and equipment tho.

Tried to take my dogs in for a nail grind and was told it is by appointment only. The last few times i have called they say just to bring them in. What a joke.

I would give zero stars if it would let me post. I ordered a prescription food for my dog. An entire week has passed and I had not heard anything. I called customer service and they had not even contacted the vet yet. The lady was nice enough to contact the vet during the call, and put the prescription through. Two hours later I receive and e-mail that they could not fulfill my order and it had been cancelled. Ridiculous!!! Do not order prescription food from this company.

I live in Draper and usually go to the Petco by my house, but they have been out of my dog s food for weeks. I went to this Petsmart and my first impression was it is so CLEAN! Also very well stocked. They had my dogs food and every size and flavor of that brand. Cashier was friendly. I ll drive a little extra to come back for sure.

Grooming appointment got cancelled without letting us know , they inform us when arrived at scheduled appointment time, without any regrets or offering reschedule at our convenience, store manager incapable of resolving the matter .

The food was great the service was great. ALongvwait. Bad parking. Once in the food prep was quick and deliscious.

Customer service at the groomer is very disappointing. I scheduled an appointment online, came with my puppy for an appointment when the employee just told me that they canceled my appointment. They didn t notify me about the situation and ironically smiled at me, all what they kept telling me is that they have in their notes that they called.

Even though I ordered at midnight (they were closed) online....... And they open at 10...I was there at 1001.... They STILL HAD MY ORDER READY! TALK ABOUT A GREAT TRIP! Now, thats dedication folks! Kudos to the team there!!

My favorite PetSmart store. Good store!

Never any cashiers. Theres a huge line more often than not and Im just not going to wait in line for 30 minutes for overpriced dog toys. Especially when I have employees hovering around me like Im some sort of thief the entire time Im shopping. Maybe instead of making customers feel uncomfortable, you should open up another register.

The hardest part about shopping here is getting out without adopting more cats. Store is clean and well stocked, associates are friendly and the furry customers are a highlight.

We took our dog to this store to see the vet about an eye infection. Out of all the other places we called, these guys were able to get our dog in to be checked out. They were very professional and took great care of our dog.

Its okay just, my family goes there to buy ghost shrimp, but theres never any there. And something I HATED was the beta fish, they were all in cages, no not even cages, basically just small Tupperware containers (in size) and when we looked 9 of them were dead. It was really sad to see all of the dieing animals all to save money,

Under no circumstances should you ever take your pet here to be groomed. All other services You can get there is great. We go whenever we need supplies. However, we took our dog here to be groomed and they butchered her. She is a cavapoo and we asked her to be groomed as a cavapoo. When we brought her home she was clearly a poodle. If they don t know how to groom a certain breed or know what that breed should look like, then they have no right to be grooming dogs. For heavens sakes, google it! I emailed them and tried to handle this privately to allow them to right this wrong but they haven t responded and this has been more than a month. They shaved her to her skin. Our dog had mats, but she didn t deserve to be shaved to her skin with zero hair. Her snout has zero hair which is a poodle cut. We ve since learned what to ask for as we are new pet owners and this was her first professional cut. I had to trim down her poofy ears and cut off that awful puffy brain on the top of her head that they left. Don t go here to groom your pet. We learned the hard way and hope to help others out too.

Go to this location a lot. Always get what I need with friendly staff.
