Banfield Pet Hospital in Sandy

Ive had consistently bad experiences with this Banfield for over the past year. I dont expect top notch quality or service out of Banfield, but I do expect them to provide the services I pay for and not give rude customer service. I will not be returning to this Banfield location.

I have been calling and calling and every time this phone number just disconnects me.

They never have any doctors working so they have to close their doors for that day

the front desk refuse to help and hang up my phone which is super rude I have never experienced

I love this location. Office staff were wonderful and the vet was great. I normally go to another location and have had issues.

This Banfield office is terrible! It took two months to get an appointment to have my dogs spayed. Apparently they dont have enough doctors. They canceled my appointment the week before and wanted me to wait another three weeks. When I told the lady that wouldnt work for me she just transferred me without any notice. Horrible customer service!! I will NOT renew my plan for my two dogs because of it. They dont even deserve the one star.

I saw some low reviews over on another website and figured I should post my experience here as well. We have been coming to this location for just over two years now. We have had amazing experiences at this location with both our dog and our cat. Dr Mimnaugh and her staff have been nothing short of amazing. Our cat Luna has frequent UTIs and had one so bad in April last year that we had to go the extra step after doing regular antibiotics and also do a shot of antibiotics. We had a regular appointment scheduled and then a week later were back, Luna turns into a cuddly little floof when she is stressed and is stubborn to give pee samples but Dr mimnaugh had us drop Luna off in the morning in hopes she could get a sample and find a minute in her schedule so we did not have to pay for the emergency vet. I received multiple phone calls from dr mimnaugh throughout both of these days updating me on how Luna was doing. When Luna wouldn t give a sample after the second day, Dr mimnaugh sent her home after giving her a shot of antibiotics. Not only was the entire staff so sweet to Luna but they also gave her a little to go cup with some toys and treats that luna loved. We saw big improvements in Luna s mood and health after two days and were lucky that the shot worked. When Luna had a uti again not even 3 months later the staff and especially Dr Mimnaugh remembered her and gave us antibiotics without charging for the appointment. This location is busy but it s because of the awesome staff!

Grateful for all who work here. They were so good to my dogs.

Just here to reiterate my poor experiences with this location. I will be closing my account- I would rather pay twice as much for better service than to be charged $80 a month for nothing.

I take all four of my animals to Banfield. One feline, three Canines. We have been going to Banfield for about four years now. Dr. Filion in West Valley is amazing and Dr Houghie in Sandy is absolutely wonderful. Those are the two doctors my pets see. If one isnt available we go to the other location and so forth. I seriously cannot ask for better doctors.

We have been with this Sandy location for 20+ yrs. The quality of care has declined immensely. Do not take your pets here. They are condescending and pretend that they care about your pet. Banfield Pet Hospital your lack of care for pets has declined so much its sickening. I will never step a foot in your so called vet care again. I hope your administration starts waking up and starts making some huge changes for the care of our pets and pet owners. You take our pets and put them in a kennel all day long. You dont provide any water or walks. Our pets are treated like objects on a conveyer belt. They ignored our requests and health issues. My dog died 28 day after her last visit. We had to rush our dog to a emergency care. We brought up we just had them at banfield for a blood test. The Er vet said they should of detected her condition in the blood test and the her vitals. This was not a quick death. This was a gradually thing happening. This is huge red flag to all dog owners.

Not a good experience, looks like the atendant didnt want to work and made up an excuse for not check in my Dog, verry frustaded because waste of time and work plus medicine to calm down my dog for the visit.

I came here with a semi stray we had around our house and the staff was VERY compassionate while I just sobbed over the loss of my pet. They even wrote me a sympathy card. They were absolutely wonderful

Will forever be taking my pets to Banfield! I used to go to VCA Lakeview/VCA Amore but ended up at Banfield for a neutering and they did wonderful. All of them so kind and knowledgeable. They treated my pet and i better than I ve ever had before. 10/10 I trust them with my beloved pets!

Our pet passed away on a Saturday afternoon. Our regular Vet s office was closed. Banfield Pet Hospital s staff were available and perfectly supportive. Very thankful for their help in our time of need.

This Banfield is really next level. We had to put our 20 year old kitty down after she had lived a long and beautiful life, and these vets and vets techs treated us like family. They made sure that our little girl was comfortable and felt safe. And they gave us the time we needed to say goodbye and let us be there with her until the end and even let us have the room with her to cry and send her home with loves. I will forever take ALL my pets here. Thank you to the Banfield staff for being such an amazing group of people and professionals.

I dropped off my lab for a surgery today at 7:30am. He is just now being sedated for surgery. 7.5 hrs for a dog with severe separation anxiety is cruel. Absolutely cruel. Drop off times need to be adjusted to maybe 1 or 2pm in these cases.

The staff & vets here know and love my dogs. Stellar care for your dogs but their customer service is lacking & they are clearly understaffed. Have patience & you will get taken care of.

Nice doctors but wont continue going here once my 2 year contract is up.. hard to get appointments

I went in to put my very sick (Cancer) cat to sleep, everyone there was very good with me and my brother and patient. A few weeks later we got a beautiful sympathy card in the mail.

I am extremely satisfied with the attention and care we have received for all our kitties. We love our fur babies so when they became sick this past month with a respiratory infection we were very worried. The staff at banfield made time to see us, even with a full schedule and helped us feel supported by calling to see how they were doing at home. I m happy to say our babies are doing much better and have plenty of energy now!

I am greeted every time I walk in store vet training and grooming and treated great and we walk out with a smile.

Great info from staff on how to care for my dogs after surgery. They took great care of them during their visit! Again, great care and communication!

Beware they charge an office visit fee and exam fee. No other vet in the valley double charges, the office visit fee includes the exam every else.

And all I did was call . You can tell when someone is there for a paycheck vs caring about a petowner and their concerns. The lady on the phone didnt even listen to me. I had to repeat my self twice. Not EVER going there at all!!!

On January 6, I had to take my dog Toby in to be put down due to illness. The staff was very caring and compassionate. They allowed all the time that I needed to be with Toby before and after he was put down.

They listened to my concerns and helped fox up my furbaby

Horrible horrible place. I will never take any of my animals to any Banfield ever again. I took my dog in. I got a call saying she was fine and I could go pick her up. 15 min later I get a call telling me she is dying and I need to take her to emergency room. They wouldn t let me see her until I paid the bills. She died a few hours later at the emergency vet. That was back in March. I m still paying Banfield. Horrible, horrible place. That was one of the worst days of my life.

The employees are friendly but many times no one was available to answer the phone and very mechanical respons ees s by technicians rather than vets.

Banfield is always great with our pets

The people at this Banfield are really amazing! I came in today with my dog Annie who has been sick and needed an emergency visit. The front desk was very kind and considerate with our situation and they were able to get her looked at. The vets and vet techs that I spoke with were very friendly and efficient. It is easy to see that everyone there really cares about the pets that come in. They looked after Annie, and kept me updated on her status and provided a treatment plan. Their care, professionalism, and kindness really helped us feel better about the situation.

This isn t our typical location but our home vet was booked out and our dog needed surgery to remove a cyst. So we had been driving 20+ minutes several times in a week for her consult, follow up, surgery, pick up etc. Post surgery, I brought her back in for her suture removal. This was two weeks ago. My husband found a chunk of stitches still in her wound and stuck under her skin last night. reasonably upset, I called today to ask why they were left and they said they didn t know and that I would need to bring her back in. I don t trust them anymore and opted to make a suture removal appointment at her home location. The staff here seem incompetent and don t exhibit customer service

Its a decent Animal Hospital for the money. Dont expect a lot of attention as its a drop off service. Lots of up-selling going on.

Dr. Mimnaugh is a great, caring vet! I really like that my dog sees the same vet when she goes there for appointments and I like how I get to speak directly with Dr. Mimnaugh regarding my dog. My dog seems like she always has a positive experience when she goes to this Banfield pet hospital and doesn t shake or get nervous anymore. The staff are all great, caring and friendly and answer all my questions and if they are not sure they will ask and find out instead of giving me the wrong info. My dog has also seen Dr. Haughey and she is also a great vet. If Dr. Mimnaugh is not available I am glad to know that my dog is in great hands with Dr. Haughey. Both of them are very nice and know what they are doing. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a caring friendly professional veterinarian team!

Wellness plan is a joke, says bring puppy even when sick and it will be taken care of, called with sick puppy and was told sorry we can t see her, hope she does okay

As a Banfield Wellness Plan member for the past decade, I can say with absolute sureness this company is a scam. My poodle regularly had dental cleanings. Over the past 5 years, he would have a tooth extracted here and there. The added cost each time would range from $200-$500. In 2020, the first extraction cost quote was $800 for two teeth. In 2021, the quote was over $2000!!! For THREE TEETH. Don t believe me? Check out the photo evidence. I knew right then and there, we were done. You pay the monthly $40, then schedule your annual dental exam, where they have your pup under anesthesia. They call you while the pup is under and you have no more than 10 minutes to make a decision for the astronomical amount they have quoted you. Not to mention, the service over the years really started to feel like McDonalds type care. Three of my family members have all decided to end their plans, due to the same type of feelings towards the service and their costs.

Ive been to two different Banfield locations and both have been incredible experiences. I do have to say that this location has the slight edge on customer service and am more than happy to drive a little extra to make this my primary vet. I swear that Ive met every employee at this location in a matter of a couple visits and I have yet to have anything less than stellar support. I truly feel the staff cares about my fur babies and their well-being and I cant express how glad I am to have found them!

Tried calling 5 times over 2 weeks and got an answering machine each time. Nobody ever called back.

Doctors are scared of the dogs. Appointment times are not available for days and days. The work they do on checkups has to be checked to make sure it was actually done.

Great place to get your pet groomed

Just moved back to Utah and had to bring Yoshi the chihuahua here for his check up. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Yoshi has a hard time around new people and he did great here. Thank you Banfield.

Our puppy was very sick. There wasn t much to be done, but they helped us get a diagnosis at least. A little pricey for the care we actually received.

I highly recommend this pet hospital. We took our dog here for an eye infection, and they handled our dog professionally and took care of the issue quickly.

Friendly helpful staff educated me very well. Look forward to our next visit.

Thus far I have had not the best experience, but most of it is because of the receptionist (Karen) she is rude, forgetful, her follow through is non existent, and her professionalism is null and void if she makes a mistake and is called out on it, she is the only reason I have reconsidered being a customer, because it seems that all of the issues I have had there have included her in the equation she will have a doctor call me never happened, she will call in my meds someplace else happened but I had to call several times to remind her) she will call the warehouse and have them call me) never happened, all of this whilst my dog is sick, she made and appointment for me, the day after I had called because my dog was seizing, asked if I could drop him off she said it will be a drop off appointment earliest you can drop him off is at 8:15 a.m I told her great because I live far from that Banfield and have work which is also far at 9:00 a.m... she also told me, if he has a seizure again that night, to take him to emergency. Fast forward to the next day, I get there at 8:30 (traffic was horrendous) for the girl behined the front desk to say we dont have an appointment for you.... what do you mean? I spoke to someone named Karen yesterday about my dog seizing and she made me a drop off appointment, Im sorry but youre not in here then as soon as she says that the other receptionist who was on a call chimes into our conversation to tell me Im a liar and she said the doctor would call me back what???? The only time you told me a doctor was going to call me back was about meds that were called in from the prior vist, a completely different issue (Which btw its been 2 1/2 3 weeks, I still havent received my dogs meds)... she proceeded to insist and argue with me, I looked at the other receptionist, and told her I swear to god, I live to far to misunderstand this situation, and I have work, I wanna say shes probably 30-35 years her JR and she had enough maturity to solve the issue vs sit and argue, they other receptionist got me in despite the fact that she FORGOT to log my appointment... I will give it 1 more shot, but dealing with KAREN is impossible.

I made an appointment for my new puppy way ahead of time. I get there and the guy can t even pull anything up he tried two different numbers it might be under I proceed to tell him I had someone call to confirm my appointment yesterday at the sandy location. He ended up having to call the creekside location if my appointment was with them of course it wasn t. They where able to squeeze me in but I had to leave my pup there for like 3 hours plus no one told me it would be a drop off I had other errands to run super inconvenient I lost 2 hours of work for nothing. I ve been with banfield for years and I m very disappointed with this location!!

I don t typically bother with leaving lengthy negative reviews, but after a series of negative recent events, here we are. We have been patients of Sandy Banfield for 14 years. Over those years we have seen their processes, staff and attention to important detail change and decline drastically. Their common practice (unrelated to covid precautions) is that if your pet needs to be seen for any reason, you must drop them off and leave. Then your pet waits in a cage in a back room until it is convenient for the vet to examine them. From there, all communication on your pet s diagnosis/condition/etc is conducted over the phone. There is no seeing a vet face to face while they do even the most basic examination. Again, this has been their process before covid. Such a practice requires a lot of trust that whatever they re telling you over the phone (and therefore charging you for) is truth. Most recently, we ve have medications for our two dogs mixed up/mislabeled and shorted. The wait times both on the phone and at the counter for drop-off/pick up are frustrating. The wellness plan also seems a money-grab, for lack of a better term. We pay $100/mo (and have for 14 years) and just had to shell out an additional $2000 for one visit of care for our 2 dogs. This has been typical of recent visits because many things apparently aren t covered under the plan. One positive from this week was vet tech Cami, who went out of her way to bring us or dog s harness that was taken off and lost by staff during surgery. She drove to our house to return it and that was really kind.

We full-time RV all over the country and have visited many Banfield locations in the last 12 years. The location in Sandy, UT is our favorite. They are kind, caring and professional. Our pets love them too!

I personally wouldnt recommend this vet. I dont like it.

They can provide basic vet care. Find a private practice if your pet has anything out of the ordinary that needs attention. They tried to charge me for an additional vet visit when I brought my dog in to have a basic blood test done. He had already seen one vet for the condition. No need to see another. We just needed blood drawn. They finally saw things my way.

Staff as well as Dr Herr are awesome.

Ok in a pinch, but I dont like big box vets.

We look our 1.5 year old puppy, Loki, to Banfeild in Sandy, UT for diarrhea and excessive peeing. We were told they ran stool and urine samples and was given a powder and two medications and spent $350. After 6 days of being on the medication Lokis diarrhea was not improving but worsening. I called the office and they said their next available was 2.5 weeks out and nothing they could suggest in the meantime. Another 24 hours went by with our puppy still having extreme diarrhea and weight loss. We decided not to wait and got a second opinion. Our second opinion vet stated that the first vet did not run an accurate stool sample and prescribed the wrong medications. So, we are now spending another $150+ to get the correct tests ran and correct medications. I will not be returning to Banfield!! I dont appreciate giving trust into a vet to care for my child for them to only give minimum care. I dont appreciate when I call with concerns post an appointment that they disregard and push us off for weeks!! I wish I could go back in time and never wake in that office. I wish I could get my money back for the incorrect testing and medications!! Such a waste of time, money, and hope for relief. Do not take your animals here unless you want to get minimum and complacent care!!

They overbooked and the wait to drop of my cat and to pick her up was way too long. She had to stay there all day just for some blood work and shots as they were too busy. I will not return to that facility again.

Dr. Kate Mimnaugh is the absolute best. We take our pups there to see her and she is always kind, helpful and spends time to amswer your questions. Its a little bit pricey but we travel almost an hour each way to see Dogter Kate because she is wirth it. She has done surgery for 2 of our dogs (once for an urgent hurt paw after being attacked by another dog and the other was a routine hysterectomy) and we wouldnt take them anywhere else.

I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A LARGE, NOT VERY PERSONABLE PET CLINIC. The people are nice, but you rarely see a doctor, you deal soly with a tech and a receptionist. Care seems ok.

Enjoy the place and the staff is great but after paying for the wellness plan they still think they need to charge you more money for a simple nail clipping when they already are handling your pet. Give me a break!!

If I could give a negative star rating I would- I specifically asked for an in office appt- apparently what that means to this Sandy location is that you wait in the lobby of Petsmart and tell a vet tech your list of concerns, who is not even writing anything down but is apparently going memorize everything to tell the vet- while you wait on a bench in Petsmart- then when the exam is done a vet tech will tell you what the vet said - I m sorry but I am not paying hundred of dollars to speak with a vet tech! This was a huge waste of my time and has delayed treatment for my cat because they mislead me when I scheduled my appt- your stupid COVID protocol is not saving anyone- it s just hurting animals

We had to get our dogs congenital eye condition surgically repaired and this Banfield was able to have schedule a consultation and perform the surgery with a neuter at the same time. They were professional, and very caring with our pet. They gave us thorough instructions and even called to make sure things were going well post surgery. I felt like they truly cared for our pup and the eye surgery was a success! Thanks for taking good care of our boy!

They have always taken care of my animals, and always worked with us and others to find the best way to cover costs. As well as being top-notch, everyone is super friendly. Weve been going to them for over 7 years now, and weve never had a complaint or problem.

We have two chocolate labs and have been coming here for almost over 5 years. We never had any issues when it came down to appointments or with the staff. For the majority of the time the staff is very friendly and help answer any questions my partner and I may have. My chocolate lab was due for a surgical procedure last Friday and when we arrived they did not have a record of her appointment that day even though we received email confirming her appointment. Mistakes do happen and I am pleased to see Karen go out of her way to give us a call and offer a few choices for us that Banfield would take care of. Karen always greets us with a warm smile and we appreciate all that she does. Mistakes do happen and I am very happy to see Banfield make it right. Thank you!

I was not event looking for this

I have taken all my animals to Sandy Banfield for years and never thought of writing a review even though I love them. Karen, who works at the reception desk is delightful and Dr. Smith has always been our Vet. I finally got around to actually write a review because my oldest dog has been having problems walking. Karen suggested I talk to the vet about adding gabapentin to the rimadyl she was already taking. Well I couldnt because I was in Flagstaff at the time so Karen talked to the vet for me and they called the prescription in to the Sams in the flagstaff. One day later, my dog acts like a new dog, almost like a puppy. I should have been posting 5 star reviews for years, but this extraordinary care finally got me moving.

These guys were awesome with my dog. They explained things so we understood. My dog had an eye infection and they tested him to make sure there was no damage and he is doing great now.

The vet tech was really nice and listened well to what issues my Dog has and made sure the Vet checked everything. The Receptionist was not very friendly.

They always show empathy and listen to you. They seem understaffed.

First off they actually answered my phone call. They got us in quickly the same morning. All three people we worked with were super friendly, and loving to my dog Samson. Doctors, Nurses, Receptionist, and all other staff are very helpful and care about your pet they do whatever they can to help. Having their pet insurance makes it a very easy and cost effective way caring for your pet. Been taking my husky Rocky here for two years now since he was a puppy and they take very good care of him.

Banfield has been the best possible hospital! I have taken Candee to Banfield for 10+ years and had the Wellness Plan, and it saved me thousands of dollars!! When we had to put my pup down a couple weeks ago, Dr. Smith, Meagan and Karen treated us as if we were family through the heartbreaking process and sent us a sweet card with a paw print as well. I cannot thank ALL of the staff enough at this location as well as the American Fork location for doing everything they could over the years for me and my girl. I wouldn t choose to take a dog anywhere else! THANK YOU!

This was a great place to take my dog to. The vet here is very friendly and attentive to getting things taken care of ASAP. They recommended a great place for more extensive care when I needed it. They were of great help to me with my diabetic dog as well. I would highly recommend them.

Everyone who took care of my dog was amazing. It was the front office staff that need compassion training!!! An unexpected dog attack which causes a HUGE bill, then to speak to front office that can provide no solutions for how to get the bill resolved is unacceptable!!!

I give Dr. Bret Grover 5 stars, but the rest of Banfield maybe 2 stars. Dr. Grover is the only vet i will see there as he doesnt nickle and dime me. He is kind and honest about what tests are needed and what is not; as i am on a low income bugest. Everytime i have to see a different vet they always try to charge me for things that are not required. If Dr. Grover Transfers to another Utah vet close to me I will switch vets. WARNING!!! if you have a reptial and have to give them shots, one thing you need to know is they will charge you the same price for 7MLs as they will for 1-4ml. I paid $27 for 7ml of antibiotics for my turtle. I missed up and wasted 3 shots and needed to buy more. I figured it would be around $3.50 per shot ($27 / 7 shots) Nope, it was $27 for 3ml. when i talked with Bnfield they siad it is the same price if you are picking up meds under 5ML! If i would have known that i would have asked for a full week of meds so my turtle could have second week of antibiotics. I miss the way the vet hospital was before it was bought out by Banfield. Dr. Bret Dennis Grover is the best thing going for Benfield; located at 12720 South Pony Express Rd, Draper UT 84020.

Hi, Im Jenny, a beautiful 11.2lb A-Lhasa Poo. My Dads said that the reason I couldnt pee is because I had 2 very large Bladder Stones. Im not sure what that meant, but I soon found out. They took me to Banfield, the staff always treats me like the princess I am. Today, like every other, starts with Karen at the desk. She worked hard to find an appointment for me. Karen is so nice. I think she is just awesome, once in a while when I get nervous I piddle. Karen just smiles and cleans it up. I was nervous today, so I piddled. Karen smiled and told me it was ok and cleaned it up. She said she found a stone in it, I guess thats why it hurt so bad to pee. Thank you Karen. (I usually look around when I piddle and try to blame a cat, but another dog will do in a pinch. Im sorry if that happens to be you.) My Dads looked scared so I gave them kisses and tried to make it better. Angie, the vet tech put their minds at ease and then they left. I was sad, but they promised to pick me up later. Angie took me in the back where I saw my Doctor. Dr. Smith is so loving and kind. I had a spot on my leg shaved and they put a needle in. OUCH! They were all gathered around and someone said goodnight. I felt comfortable despite the cold fluid going in my leg. I got really tired and must have fallen asleep. When I woke up I was dizzy, my belly hurt a little bit, and I was wearing a ridiculous cone of shame. I looked around and could see Karen, Angie and Dr. Smith. Each came and checked on me, then they gave me a shot saying it would help with pain, and it did. In no time at all (I must have slept because it didnt feel like any time passed) Angie came and got me and told me it was time to go home. I got a big hug from Dr. Smith and Angie and then the door opened and I saw my Dads. Everything was ok from that point on. In the room Dad had 2 rocks in his hand, one was the size of his thumb and another was just a bit smaller (see picture.) He said that they came out of me. WOW, no wonder I hurt and of course I said the stone was the reason I was peeing on the carpet at home. I think they bought it. Everyone at Banfield treated me and my Dads so good. (Me especially). I dont want to go back unless its just to see my friends. I dont make a good patient. I love you Dr. Smith, Angie and Karen. You are so kind. Sincerely, Jenny P.S. You seem to think that my temperature is important. Since my skin is warm can we just use a made up number? Like 62, cause I dont like the glass thing that you stick in my, um, irrr, um, well bum. I said it... bum, anyway, I dont like it and I dont think we should play that temperature game anymore. Nope, just not fun. Think about that okay? We can talk about it on my next visit. I also dont like the cone of shame and this is my formal request to never wear one again. Please put that in my medical record. Worst of all is that my Dads said I have to wear it until Dr. Smith says I can take it off. But they wont call and ask her, they just tell me 2 weeks. 2 weeks is a year in dog, come on. Gezzz :( No more cone Dr. Smith, okay? :) I love you all, I will tell all my canines friends about how great you are. I would tell my feline friends, but I dont have any, thank goodness. They go to the bathroom inside, in a box, yuck. ;-)

First and foremost the company banfield is amazing and their health plans are affordable and life changing. The location at sandy though is a complete joke. Karen at the front desk is very rude and thinks she is a vet and gives medical advise over the phone when I m not asking for it. Gwen has no idea what she is doing and can be rude. I had the most horrible experience at this location. My 2 year old lab needed to get a TPLO surgery done unfortunately and they made every emotion I was feeling worse by not communicating with me. We wanted to have his surgery done with a certain surgeon that has had 20 plus years of experience with the TPLO surgery so I wanted the best for my dog and not his associate. (Which we could have done the surgery sooner but I said no) We had to wait almost 3 weeks to get his surgery done which was not great but we had our dog on bed rest and kept him comfortable until then. The day of surgery finally came and a few hours later we get a call from the associate of the surgeon saying he did a great job and that we could pick up our dog in a few hours. I called banfield and was very angry that nobody told me that his associate was doing the surgery. The lead vet tech talked to me and was very nice and said that something happened with the scheduling and the surgeon was double booked. I told her that it would have been nice if they called and asked permission if the associate could do the surgery at least but no that didn t happen. She said that their manager would call me and talk to me about my frustration.The manager never did and I think that is terrible business with your customers when you as a clinic made a mistake, make a promise and don t follow through. I mean my pet could have had the surgery sooner but I waited so he could have the best and ended up with his associate anyways. I never got closure with this mess that banfield at sandy put me and my injured dog through and couldn t go back at that location because of the anger that I felt. Do yourself a favor and go to the other banfield locations but sandy.

We will never go anywhere else for our pets care. They truely know how to take care of each individual animal and their needs.

I m so upset! I took my pup in today first thing. I have a wellness plan for both of my dogs here. Today, I presented with a situation I considered urgent. I was SO STRESSED. They refused to help me. (It took literally less than 3 min.) The front desk associate was very condescending and several times told me I was wrong for thinking his mattered! She tried to tell me this was not even a big deal. IT IS A BIG DEAL! I called another place and they told me to come in immediately bc if it s not corrected it could cause infection and real problems. I am so disappointed. Small courtesy s go a long way. I have been loyal to this facility, I spend thousands of dollars a year here between my 2 dogs. I work in customer service, and today there was a huge lack of that. Needless to say, I m not coming back, and looking at how many negative reviews there already are- I maybe should have considered different options to begin with.

Weve been coming here for years. Ive gotta say, its so nice to hear from the same person multiple times a year, Karen is about the nicest lady on the planet and she checks in with us regularly. Our dog loves going there! Update to review, it s now September 2018, and nothing has changed. Dr Smith is still outstanding with our little Maggie and Karen still makes me feel like a family member.

love the sandy banfield! they have made my little kitten feel so comfortable each time we go. the staff is kind, genuine & super friendly. would definitely recommend friends/family to the sandy banfield.

I have been going to them for many years and I have been very happy with the service I have always gotten. I will bring all my future dogs here and still bring my current dog. When I had to lay to rest my dog they were so respectful of my pain amd treated my Tasha as if she was there dog.

Get the vet that loves your pet

The vets are very kind and are always willing to answer whatever questions you may have. However, the receptions desk can sometimes feel a little uninviting if theyre busy.

Take my pets there, they were nice.

The staff and veterinarian at this clinic are amazing! So loving and compassionate. My dog loves it there.

My dogs and cats have been treated by this particular Banfield staff for a few years now. Some of the staff know my dogs by name now, and my dogs recognize them, too. The dogs get really happy when I bring them in, which is weird, but nice. Besides regular checkups, weve had a few more serious visits and the vets here have seen us through.

Good staff; my dog was treated very well and they didnt charge me for an office visit as it was just for a heart worm test. The wait was a bit long though.

I love this place.Karen,Angela,Quinn. The veterinarians, I love them. They treated my dog that passed so great. Now I have a rescue her name is Riley and I will continue to go there. Edit caused date to change. My mother and I took our 20 + year old cat in to get euthanized because she had gotten very ill and there was no other option but to end her suffering. The procedure itself was done seemingly according to protocol. That is not my complaint. My problem was with the vet herself. As I stood over my childhood pet I cried and apologized to Tabitha, my cat, for having to put her down. This was the first animal I had to help pass; all my other creatures went naturally. I know it was the right thing to do but I felt guilty nonetheless. When the vet came in the room and heard what I was saying, she snapped at me and said something to the effect of stop saying sorry. I forget the actual wording but I remember her attitude. It was very disrespectful to reprimand a young woman on her last words to her furry friend. She shouldve kept her thoughts to herself and just did the job we paid her to do. I will have to live with the memory of being scolded over what I said to my dying fluffy in her last moments. Theres nothing that they can ever do to make that right in my opinion. If it hadnt been a Sunday evening we wouldve gone elsewhere. She made that situation more difficult than it already was and so I recommend to others that they go somewhere more sympathetic to grieving caretakers. I really wish we had..

Weve been taking our 2 cats to Banfield for vaccinations/routine checkups since we switched from our local vet over 10 years ago and got the insurance. Its a great value. Just realize that services for serious injuries/emergencies are few to none, so its good to have an established relationship with a full service vet as well, especially if your pets go outside.

The doctors. Assistants and staff are excellent. They treat my pet like gold. They literally saved his life. Facility is clean and pet friendly. The staff treats my dog as if he was their own dog. I can always get appointments and it is a pleasant experience.

I will never take another animal here again. Took my dog in to get some foxtails removed from his feet, he had surgery to get them out. After about a week and a half I took him back in for a follow up because he still had large lumps that where pussing out. They gave me more antibiotics. Its now been a month and his wounds still are not completely healed, still has small holes oozing out of these large lumps on his feet. I was told I will have to pay for another surgery to have these removed. I honestly dont even know what I paid for the first time, let alone an expensive follow up visit. I trusted this place because it was in side a Petsmart shop I frequently visit and trust. I can believe they are endorsing this place. Ps. after asking around to friends and family, I was told of another lackadaisical insistent of a cats broken leg. They had follow up visits where bandages where falling off on the way home in the car etc. place is a joke.

They are fast and efficient and genuinely care about your animals.

Daisy LOVES pet smart. She also loves the vets who work at Banfield. We are truly impressed with their professionalism as well as the convince of one stop shopping for grooming, toys, treats, food and veterinary care. We would give them a ten star if it were an option.

Ive called twice with strange requests and short notice appointments and theyve gone above and beyond to make my requests happen.

Banfield is the most amazing pet hospital weve ever been to. Dr. Smith and the staff there saved my dogs life. We wouldnt have her with us today if it werent for them. All of the nurses, doctors, and assistants are AMAZING and so loving and caring towards all animals. We cant recommend them highly enough! The plan they offer is SO affordable and truly makes taking care of a pet easy and convenient. We LOVE Banfield!

I really like this clinic. They have taken care of two of my dogs and are about to take care of my third. When my dog had to be put down they allowed me the time I needed. They did not charge me for the office visit and offered me options for cremation. The more positive visits were even better. I would recommend.

This is not a complaint, its a public service announcement. Banfield in Sandy killed my dog. He was healthy and happy before we took him there for his checkup and dental cleaning. Two days later he was dead. They never accepted any responsibility. If you love your pets do not take them to Banfield.

Best vet in the area and best Banfield in Utah, great attitudes from people there, personalized attention and no matter how busy they are make you and your pet feel important, top notch care, we go here for routine checkups and emergencies - our dogs emergency surgery was performed perfectly and saved his life

I wouldnt recommend any pet owner take their pet to the Banfield facilities. We took both our dogs there for over 11 years, paid tens of thousands of dollars for their insurance plans, surgeries, medication, etc. but at the end realized what a huge mistake we had made. Most recently we lost our lab of 11 years. When we needed Banfield the most, they turned us away even when they knew that we had insurance at their facility. Because it was an emergency situation, we called another Banfield location on Redwood Road and they turned us away as well because they said that the doctor was on a lunch break. We ended up at Lone Peak Vet in Draper and they took us in immediately and even went the extra mile to transport him to an emergency facility without charging us for it. It was the first time for us to go there and we feel that they treated us better than Banfield ever did in the 11 years. Dont waste your money and dont risk your pets life in Banfields hands. When Banfield heard that we lost our pet, they did call us and let us know that both of their centers should have never turned us away. However, when we needed them most, they refused to see us.
