Terrible customer service. Scheduled a visit for my dog’s skin issues. They gave me a steroid/antibiotic, and told me to call back if it didn’t work. It didn’t work. Fast forward a month later I called because it didn’t work, and they told me I missed my follow up appointment (which literally not one person told me about), and now I am responsible for ANOTHER visit fee. On top of that, they said I have “missed too many appointments” so now I have to pay a deposit to be seen. I guess they expected me to read their mind, rather than just telling me I had a follow up appointment. Do yourself a favor and take your dog to MedVet.
Absolute butcher. Do not bring your pets here. I went with my mother to the consult for her dog to have their ears clipped. She stated 3 times the length and style of clip she wanted even consulting a chart PROVIDED by the vet. The vet was arrogant and standoffish. When puppy was picked up her ears were not done correctly by any standard. After getting two additional consults from separate vets they also stated this was one of the worst chop jobs they’ve seen. Her poor ears were jagged, uneven and the vet took it upon himself to select a different length because of his own preference. The crop had to be redone and when a refund or correction was requested the clinic refused and stopped responding. Beware they are dishonest and unethical.
If I could give a lower review than 1 star I would. I took my pocket bully in for ear cropping. I was clear I wanted the short crop - bully standard. I even clarified I wanted it a little shorter than the regular short crop. The vet Dr Paul Edmond bragged about how this wasn't his first rodeo and he knew what he was doing. My dog came home with the worst cut I have ever seen. It looks like someone cut it with a home razor in a backyard and it's tall like a dobermans- not a bully. The left ear won't stand straight because the cut has divets and chunks in the ear. I called and tried to speak to the manager, she was unbelievably rude and rigid. She said I would need to wait 4 weeks and see if I could "grow" to like the ears after they heal. I wanted to upload a picture but can't see how to do it?? They refused to refund any of the money or provide the service they were paid for. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC. They are highly dishonest, and they will take your money and ruin your dog. Then they will avoid accountability and hang up on you when you try to ask them to make it right. They wouldn't allow me to even speak to the vet who performed the surgery and who I consulted with in the first place. This clinic is the worst I have ever experienced in over 20 years of owning dogs. They just basically stole over $1000 from me.
We had the best experience with our cat and end-of-life care. Thank you so much for taking care of us. The staff was truly professional and the Vet was amazing with our cat. Thanks again.
I have so many things to say about this place (PLEASE read the whole thing!): 1. I’ve been here for a few things with my dog but minor things like diarrhea and ear infection but this time I came here for a gastrointestinal issue and the horror story begins. 2. In the first appointment they did blood tests, they injected her with something to help with nausea and they told me to give her anti acid por a week. They call me with blood test results saying everything is fine, without any intention on seeking another option so I had to ask, ok what’s next? They were going to just leave it. So they said an ultrasound would be next. 3. First they tell me the ultrasound would be around $600 then I call again to ask the exact cost and when could it be done, they now say between $800-850 because she would have to be sedated. I thought this was crazy, so I looked for places where they would do it for less money, I call the vet and ask which specialist do they use and if I could use any other? And they said yes so, why don’t they mention this since the beginning? I found one that charged me $633 with sedation. 4. The ultrasound results were sent to me, which made me think they were sent to them too, makes sense no? I call the best day to ask about them and when will I be receiving the doctor’s call to discuss results, they said the next day. I wait for the next day, no call. I call again, turns out the doctors that my treated my dog with this issue was not there (not sure if she left on vacation?) so there was another doctor that would interpret the results but I had to go to another appointment with him so he sees my dog before interpreting the results. Why didn’t they mention this in my first call???? Plus they were intending to changer me for another appointment because the doctors is away. 5. This other doctor wants to treat my dog with antibiotic for a week and suggested another test to run if the antibiotic didn’t work, and he told me to CALL (you’ll see why I’m emphasizing this) to tell him how it went. 6. I call a week after, first I call on a Monday, the doctors not there, he only comes in Wednesday and Friday I guess, so I was told to call on Wednesday. I call on Wednesday, they don’t want to give the phone to the doctor, they tell me his agenda is full and he is not taking phone appointments, I insisted that he is the one that asked me to CALL, they refused to let me talk to him and that they suggested for me to seek help with an internal medicine doctor? So they now refuse to treat my dog. WHOOOO does that? Aren’t they supposed to care for our pets??? I asked them to send me all the results from the tests they wanted my dog to have, literally just to make me spend money because they didn’t help at all! Now I’m in Mexico treating my dog with amazing vets that are actually interested and concerned about my pet’s health. Please don’t bring your pets here to this Sandy clinic!!
Dr. Edmonds and all the folks we interacted with at this clinic were incredible. My husband and I have a 14-year-old-pup who is definitely aging (early kidney, liver, and heart disease), but still relatively healthy all things considered. We are doing things to mitigate the newly developing health issues, but also want to be conscientious about unnecessary medications and their side effects. With our previous vet, we left the last visit feeling overwhelmed, undereducated, and not really heard. The appointment was rushed, and it was hard not to feel that that vet didn't have time for or interest in our perspective and concerns. The other vet wanted to start our little fella on a number of medications all at once - some definitely necessary (i.e., treating and mitigating liver and kidney disease), others not. And there was this sense of fear that our pup was going to suddenly and rapidly decline, despite very normal activity and behavior. Seeing Dr. Edmonds was a night and day difference. He was calm, thorough, and very informative. He gave us more time than I think we were technically scheduled for, which I know isn't always possible, but with the laundry list of worries and questions, it was so appreciated. He listened openly to the insights we felt like we had to offer as the ones who see our pup day-in and day-out, but also talked with us (as opposed to taking at us) about what he was seeing as a vet and which health concerns needed attention versus the ones that were mild enough to really only warrant observation for now. We left feeling informed, prepared with what to do to care for our aging pup effectively, and much calmer overall. In addition to Dr. Edmonds, all of the gals working there during our visit were so kind and professional. Our tech in particular was very sweet to our pup, and listened with a lot of care and concern to my husband and I (and we can be a bit chatty haha). We are both sincerely grateful to Dr. Edmonds and everyone at the clinic. Y'all are wonderful!
This is truly the best vet we’ve ever been to. it’s the only one we’ll go to now. first off, the staff and vets are incredible. they TRULY care about each customer and they work around peoples situations so gracefully. our first kitty broke his hip about a year and a half ago, and everywhere was charging us $5000 for FHO surgery. sandy charged us half the price and my baby is walking perfectly fine and he is so happy now. We are deciding if we need a surgery related to his bladder tomorrow and the quote alone from sandy immediately calmed any nerves i had- again, they are charging us SUCH a better price than anywhere else. we have also brought in our other cat for an infected cut and behavioral issues and sandy fixed him right up. Every year, on my cats birthday, they send us a post card. they really care so deeply for the animals that come into their facility. i tell EVERYONE about sandy animal clinic. just such an amazing place that i am forever thankful for. they are lifesavers.
Absolutely the best vet around. They are kind and wonderful with my grumpy girl. They are great with squeezing us in as soon as possible which is one of the reasons why we make the hour dive to them every time!
I was not very happy got charged $498 for x-rays exams and meds and was told it was inflammation in the knees things never got better they got worse now I have to go pay a different doctor $120 to do the same thing they were supposed to do
The clinic is wonderful! Many thanks to the doctor, he cured our cat!!!!! Before that, they wanted put him down in 2 clinics! I recommend to everyone!
The bad thing is that they dont know how to explain to you that you can buy generic medications for your pets and save a little more... They seem stupid when you ask them, apparently they hired a veterinary assistant, very nice Laura, she helps you with everything and knows how to explain it to me. all things are better so I increase it a star
We love our doctors
Way too over priced when it comes to putting your loved pet down this place was asking over $1000 to Euthanize and private cremation. Seems as if they are price gouging because they know how much you love your animal. Or maybe its just an Eastside thing to overcharge customers. I guess call around before choosing this place. Took our loved pet to mid valley clinic in Taylorsville where it only cost $270 which is a Fair price shouldnt have to pay thousands to be born and thousands to die just dont make sense.
Had a yearly check up for my cat. It was good
Very caring and good to Sammi!
Sandy Animal Clinic is so friendly and accommodating. We just love Justin! The staff will get you right in and they are so knowledgeable and are willing to assist you and your pets. All questions were answered immediately and we never felt pressured to have extra services added to our bills. Will continue to call this clinic our home.
Just finished our second new puppy visit and I am so impressed with the whole staff! The new puppy program they offer is affordable and comprehensive. Everyone is so nice an knowledgeable. I showed up an hour late because I had put our appointment in my phone incorrectly, and they saw me anyway and were so understanding about it!
Cant say enough about the staff and service weve received at this clinic. Jenny and Dr. Edmonds take care of our dogs like their own, and the front desk always calls to check up after a surgery or treatment. Weve had a puncture wound, dentals, and regular visits treated here.
Just felt like my concerns werent addressed
Dr. Paul Edmonds best vet ever!! Always will be my vet!
Ive taken my dogs to this clinic since before Dr Edmonds owned it. Dr Edmonds is great. Not impressed with Dr McDonald. I took my dog in because he was limping. Dr McDonald said he had a torn ligament. Took him in a few times. He was prescribed medication and they did do blood work to make sure the medication wasnt messing with his kidneys. I feel like she could have seen something in his blood work that indicated something. She wanted to get a sedated X-ray for close to $600 dollars, but she is sure its a torn ligament. (Why not try a regular xray first?) I pointed out the bulge on his hip (baseball sized) and she dismissed me saying it was the way he was standing. I actually scheduled surgery for the torn ligament, but it didnt feel right. I took my dog to another vet. She took an X-ray that day, took 10 minutes. That cost me 1/3 the cost of the sedated xray Dr McDonald wanted me to do. Turns out he didnt have a torn ligament. He had bone cancer. That explained the bulging hip. My dog has since passed over the rainbow bridge. I do have a new best friend but wont be taking him to this clinic.
Very friendly staff. Made our doggie feel safe and happy while she got her teeth cleaned
They are always so sweet to my baby
Great service and friendly staff
So grateful that they were able to see my dog that very morning as he had been dealing with a respiratory infection which was getting worse. Our normal vet is never able to see our pets when ill without calling very early and getting put on a wait list for the day. I was trying to convince myself it would resolve itself but after many sleepless nights, and that morning I missed the early call time to get put on our vets wait list, we called sandy animal clinic and they set an appointment in an hour. Not only did they get us right in the medicine the doctor prescribed took care of the sinus discharge we have dealt with for years on and off. There was improvement that night. We are still on the meds and I am anxious to see the results after the treatment ends, but if the horrible congestion returns we will be coming back here to discuss further treatment possibilities with the doctor. If it is resolved then I am flabbergasted that a two year issue was corrected in a 15 minute visit.
They do all of my dogs health testing.
Friendly staffs here, efficient service, reasonable charge. No reason to go other animal hospital !
Great staff and an awesome vet! I drive past two other clinics just to get there.
Staff is friendly and treated myself/my pet with kindness and respect.
They were wonderful with our cat. The Animal crackers couldn t even get him an appointment for weeks. And we ve been going to them for over 10 years . Not anymore.
First visit and very good experience.
Ive driven the 25 minutes to come here for over 10 years. The best hands down. ESPECIALLY if you can get Dr. Edmunds himself. GOAT. And I ve tried others to save time, mistake every time. This Is the Bet for Salt Lake County and beyond..
First time visit here last week with our 9 month old kitten. I was nervous he had asthma. The staff was so kind and so excited to see our kitty. It was clean, the visit was quick and not too expensive. I felt so comfortable there knowing they d take great care of our little guy.
Always helpful.
I wish I could give more stars. It was so nice to find a competent, honest and well priced vet. I m not sure why it took me being with four other nearby vets to learn this, but I m glad I m where my fur baby is supposed to be.
Always good friendly kind people
Just happened to find this place because its near our house and Im so glad we did. Vet appointments can often be difficult and stressful for all, but the staff here was so kind and so professional. We have decided to take all our animals here from now on.
THE very best animal clinic in the Salt Lake Valley! Excellent care and amazing, compassionate staff.
Sandy Animal Clinic is one of the only places along the entire Wasatch Front that does ear cropping. I took my Doberman puppy, Cooper, here to have his ears done. I know this is a super scary event for first time Doberman owners, as it scared the hell out of me. Seeing his ears all cut up was alarming at first, but the veterinarian really did do a fantastic job and my puppys ears are BEAUTIFUL. Hes the most handsome boy and I thank you Sandy Animal Clinic for your good work.
Just recently got our dog in to Sandy Animal Clinic. From his wellness visit to his much needed dental work, he was well cared for. His breath improved instantly and his recovery from his tooth and epulis extration has been pretty seamless. When we arrived, we were taken right back to our own room and were also able to pay in that very room, both of which can be nice if you have a pet that is anxious around other animals. Prices were pretty transparent in the estimate and seemed on par with other places. Luckily for us, we ended up near the bottom of our estimate range. Will be back during Jan/Feb for another pup when they offer 20% off dental work.
Dont waist your time calling this place. they act and say how sentimental they are with putting down an old dog who is full of infection and suffering from severe pain. I called them to have him put down and they told me nope we cant help you. This company doesnt give 2 cents about suffering animals.
Overall I like sandy animal clinic. I LOVE Jenny, the vet tech. But in general I don t like going to the vet because it is EXPENSIVE and this clinic is not any different. With the exception of Jenny, every one else I have dealt with here seems to make light of costs. The conversation goes: hey your dog needs X-rays, blood work, vaccines, etc. Well be right back with her. Then 15 min later: Here s your $250-$400 bill. I wish they would be more upfront about cost from the very start, for instance: hey you need X-rays and it s going to be $180 plus your visit fee and here s why we think you should do it, but I know that s expensive so if you choose not to here s what you re looking at. If I had a vet upfront and honest like that I would switch in a heartbeat. Now that being said, they do (most of them) care about your pet and are very kind to them. I have also liked the vet techs a lot more than the doctors. The vet techs are usually more knowledgeable and helpful.
Very trustworthy and knowledgeable. I respect the opinion of Dr. Macdonald and feel I have never entered or been drawn toward the rabbit holes that many pet owners find themselves.
They did a great job on my Dobies ear crop. Always nice staff.
So nice and friendly
I love the doctors and staff.
Filled with a bunch of bit ches. Not a single person in the lobby and they wouldn t service Me.
If you love your pet DO NOT come here. Most horrible experience in my life and will absolutely be contacting the AAHA. Took my pet here for a surgery, was told he will be perfectly fine we just need to follow their instructions and he would be perfectly fine. Few days after the surgery there were a couple of things that worried me so I called them. Gave them all the details and asked if I could bring him in just to be safe. They said he would be fine and gave me some different medication (different than what they originally told me) this was on a Friday. He died Sunday morning I was very upset with this and felt like they really dropped the ball and it could ve been avoided if they would have checked him out when I asked. I talked to the lady (wish I knew her name) that deals with this stuff and she was INCREDIBLY RUDE. Basically told me it was my fault for not taking him somewhere else. Horrible experience, horrible business management, horrible vet. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.
I have brought both of my shepherds here for years. Thankfully, I have not had to bring either of them in for a surgery, just routine vaccinations. The staff are friendly and happy to love on your pets.
They did a great job taking care of my sweet Penny. Immunization, check-up, nail trim. I needed a record of the immunization while out of town. They quickly emailed it to me. The office workers are friendly and helpful.
Can I give zero stars? Theyve never had anything but just customer service, not excellent or great or even good, just service. But today when I accidentally left the paper they asked me to bring to my appointment at home, I realized how little customers mean to them. I understand it is my fault for leaving it home, but I immediately admitted fault upon arrival and asked if I could quickly fill it out since I was early to my appointment. We reschedule people who cant remember their paperwork. So I asked if my husband at home could fax or scan it in and send it via email. Their response was, It is our policy to reschedule people who dont bring the paperwork. I wasnt permitted to print it at a nearby print ship or go get it and bring it back. I felt completely devalued and as though my business was not priority in any way. I thought they were rude in their delivery and unkind to someone who was presen early , a returning customer, and ready to pay $600+ for their professional services. I have previously recommended their skill but the complete lack of loyalty on their part to their clients was demoralizing.
I am extremely satisfied with the attention and care we have received for all our kitties. We love our fur babies so when they became sick this past month with a respiratory infection we were very worried.
Too expensive
This vet office is amazing. They re all so friendly. The veterinarians are amazing the veterinary assistants are the sweetest and I wish I would ve known about it 10 years ago. I think they are all the sweetest, most caring and kind people to not only the animals but to their owners, so thank you so much for showing me that this is the best place for us to take our furry loved ones!! Best Clinic EVER! It s so great to know you can go somewhere that you can trust.
Wish we would have found this clinic the first round! They do a great job, the dogs love them and theyre priced right! Thank you for all your help with her animals!
They are always so wonderful and friendly and always remember my day and her name!
I used their online pharmacy. The delivery is 5 days late and Im out of meds for my dog. I could get them at Walmart but they needed an order called in from Sandy Animal clinic. They refused to help me saying they dont call in prescriptions. Im done with them. Just made an appointment with a new vet. To me, service is huge. This was an easy request and they refused to help.
Love these guys, theyve helped molly so much!
Pets are truly lived there
They were very nice and profeshanel
I brought my aging cat to Sandy Animal Hospital twelve days ago for an eye issue. It was our first visit to this vet clinic. I disclosed that he has renal issues and has been on a special renal diet for three years. The vet, Dr. Macdonald, who I felt no connection to whatsoever and who didn t appear to show sincere interest in my cat, didn t know what was wrong but had several guesses. We left with two kinds of eye drops which we diligently applied. We had a second visit less than a week later, although I wasn t allowed to speak to the vet. They took a blood sample in the back and said they d call the next day with results. We left with more serum drops. No phone call the next day so I called myself the following day to receive blood test results. I was told that they had left a message but I received no message. The woman at the front desk said he has renal issues and should be on a renal diet. Shocker, I had told them that on the first visit. She said he might have Horner s disease. Then she suggested a cat ophthalmologist. So I spent $384.27 to be told that my cat has renal disease which I told them in the first five minutes of the initial office visit and that they really couldn t help him. I understand that it s difficult to make a diagnosis in some instances and that this vet may not be experienced enough to deal with our situation but it felt like there was little effort put into helping my cat, especially after being told the same info that I had already provided and making it sound like it was their discovery. I would definitely not return to Sandy Animal Clinic or recommend it to other pet owners.
10/10 recommend! These people truly care! As soon as we walked through the doors they 3 beatiful technicians greeted us with our sweet puppy s name! They immediately took us back and from the beginning to end explained everything they were doing and the cost and our options! They have our hearts and our dogs will be going here from now on! Thank you Sandy Animal Clinic & Dr McDonald!
Make sure if you come here, do NOT schedule to be seen by the lady vet, Danielle Macdonald!! I have unfortunately seen her a handful of times but after todays visit, that will never happen again. Took my two pugs into get updated vaccines last week. The older pug was able to get his shots fine and I asked the vet tech about a new tumor on Ralph, and she said wed ask the vet. But since my other pug needed a special pretreatment shot before his vaccines, wed have to come back the following week. No problem, right? She said to make sure I ask the vet about Ralphs new tumor at that point. Next week comes and I take them both back in. Right after Reggies exam(which was a joke in itself and lasted a whole 15seconds) I ask the vet about Ralphs new tumor and if I should be worried. She doesnt even bother to glance at it and says nonchalantly well just cut it out next time hes sedated. Just watch it to see if it gets bigger Well yeah its gotten bigger which is why Im asking, and since I was scheduling his Dental surgery as well I wanted to ask since hed be anesthetized. She blows me off and says theyll get me a quote. Already annoyed at her lack of attention to this entire interaction, I waited for Reggies shots for 30minutes.... Then the vet tech comes in and is going over the dental quotes and I mention the rumor that the vet said hey would just clip off. The te h then tells me its going to add between 400-700$ to the quote. WTH! So I ask to be able to speak with and confirm with the vet that gave me 30seconds of time during the exam, Danielle MacDonald about the severity of this tumor. She comes back into the room after another 15minutes, herself seeming extremely annoyed for having to speak with me again, and immediately starts telling me she doesnt at the prices blah blah blah and I say thats fine, Im just curious in if I need to worry about this or not since she really didnt bother to look at Ralphs tumor. She then looks at me with contempt and says yeah I didnt look cause you didnt pay for an exam for Ralph today. If you want to pay for one then I could. I was shocked and said I did pay for it for Ralph last week and you werent here so they said to bring him today. I certainly oh DID pay for Reggies exam and you didnt even look at him!? She smiled smugly and shrugged and walked out of the room. That was the end of my interaction with her. Shocking to have such little concern from someone who apparently cares about animals. Go see the other vet, Dr Edmonds. He has been fantastic and caring and willing to by to answer questions without haste when you are worried. Danielle MacDonald was terrible, uncaring and spiteful. I hope that no one has to deal with her when they have an urgent issue with their pet cause shell make it feel worse.
I am so grateful for the excellent care my pets receive at Sandy Animal Clinic. They are so kind and very knowledgeable.
Just as other reviewers have stated, Dr. McDonald is a terrible vet. I have a very high energy puppy and each vet visit, Dr. McDonald would roll her eyes and complain about his energy. My dog would be shaking from fear of her. He had a terrible ear infection and very first thing Dr. McDonald wants to do: sedate him ???? I tell her if I hold him in my lap, she should be able to look into his ears without sedation. She agrees and says, I don t see anything. Not sure why they are red and he s been scratching and shaking them so much. I left with no answers. On my way out, she made sure to remind me how much energy he has - well, he is a puppy + dogs can sense bad vibes. Sandy Animal Clinic, if you want customers coming back, I d recommend replacing Dr. McDonald.
I took my Doberman to Sandy Animal Clinic to have his ears cropped. They did a wonderful job and gave him great care pre and post op.
We recently switched vets after moving and we are so happy with the decision of choosing Sandy Animal Clinic! From the moment we walked in the door the vet techs were beyond friendly and greeting us and our pup. The DVM, Dr Edmonds was so friendly and had us laughing the entire visit. Our dog is really timid at the vet from previous experiences, and they really tried to make her feel comfortable by offering treats and taking the time to have her warm up to them which we thought was amazing! The whole team here made it such a great experience and we look forward to our yearly check ups!
3 week wait for new patients
Very friendly and helpful staff. I love that the scale is out front and they can check you out in the exam room. Their setup is really nice and its a clean and quiet space. Plus, they made my vet-skittish dog comfortable, which is impressive. Thank you!!
First off I want to say thank you so much to all the staff at sandy animal clinic for writing and signing a card from everyone when my dog Lucy passed away. It made me feel that much better and it was so sweet to read what everyone wrote. Putting your baby to sleep is the hardest choice to make and when I called to them it was time they were able to fit her in but also never rushed us when we were saying goodbye they showed so much respect and care for not just us but Lucy. They explained everything so we knew what to expect and what could happen before they did anything which I really appreciated. I couldn t have asked for a better place and it really helped me feel like I made the right choice. I never once felt like they were in it for the money or pushed for more expensive options. In fact I feel like they Are honest and upfront. I felt comfortable leaving Lucy there overnight if she had to because the staff took such great care of her And some connected with her. Thank you very much for the card abd everything else you guys did of it when we get a new fur baby we will always go here.
I am completely beside myself when leaving this review. Last week, I took my two dogs to Sandy Animal Clinic for the first time to see Dr. Danielle McDonald and assistant Brittney. This appointment was supposed to be a routine checkup followed by vaccinations. 15 minutes after the appointment and arriving home, one of my two dogs began to show signs of anaphylactic shock (foaming at the mouth, trouble breathing, and blue tongue). Noticing her condition, I took my dog back to the clinic where she was rushed to the back and put on oxygen/intubated. Unable to understand the rush of events, Dr. McDonald presented x-rays which showed my dog was suffering from a collapsed trachea. In giving her best advice and medical recommendation, she suggested two options, euthanasia or transferring to a specialist which she highly discouraged. Given no alternative measures or the option to try an EpiPen, we were pushed to euthanize our dog. My family and I are in complete shock given the traumatic events we experienced and the lack of sympathy/empathy. The overall treatment from Dr. McDonald was far from sincere. We brought in a happy/healthy, yet slight overweight dog and left without her. Our family is not interested in half-hearted apologies nor is there anything you can do to change the situation. The following day we received a phone call from the clinic, not to give their sympathy, but to ask if we wanted to schedule a teeth cleaning for our other dog, which was more than disappointing, let alone unprofessional. We hope moving forward you are able to take better care of your future patients as you will no longer be treating any of our other animals. For those looking for a place to take your precious pet family, look to other places and take the time to research who will be caring for your animals.
Love taking our pet here. The vets and staff are amazing.
Did a great job on the war cropping of both of my dobes.
Great care, great staff, reasonably priced.
They were able to get me in with no appointment. My cat suffered a bad laceration to his tail over the weekend and. Monday morning I took him to our regular vet. They were unable to see him. On my way home I stopped by Sandy Animal Clinic . I am so grateful for there quick response. I think I found a new vet.
So kind and wonderful, my cat is not the easiest gal but they treated her with all the love i could ask for! More than that, I can call and ask a question and know I will be taken care of. Love this vet office and will recommend to anyone!
DO NOT GET YOUR DOGS EARS CROPPED HERE! I am so disappointed in how my puppies ears turned out. I told the vet what I wanted and even showed him pictures. I was told hes been trained by the very best, and he does over 200 ear croppings a year. Her ears look very unprofessional and I paid over $1,000 to have them done. I also drove 3 hours a week for 5 weeks. I want to cry and demand my money back! They are a fraud and dont know what they are doing!!! Whatever you do, dont use them!!!!
Upon calling this clinic, the receptionist was very blunt and curt, it took forever to get prices or figure out when we would be able to come in.
These guys are terrible. Dr. Paul Edmunds completely ruined our dogs ears. They dont know what they are doing. I wouldnt take my dog to them for anything. But especially not for ear cropping.
First time visit , I loved the staff very personable to me and caring to Benson . Dr Edmond is very knowledgeable. I appreciate they were able to get us in last minute.
I went to get my Dobermans ears cropped and they did a fantastic job!! I love that they called me to make sure everything is going well with my pup. I wish Id lived closer so they can be my go to place for my puppys needs.
I ve already complained to a manager about their poor professionalism and them being rude. Obviously nothings been done to correct it since I just visited again.
This place is great, smart people, sympathetic and a ton of empathy.
It s always hard for me to bring my pets to the vet even for just small check ups. The staff made me feel comfortable from the first phone call, to the vet assistants to the vet! Everyone was wonderful and took great care of my two cats.
Nice and friendly staff. I was actually aloud into the building and got to talk to the vet in person. It made my dog happier having me there right next to her instead of me being outside and someone taking her away.
Ive been taking my dogs, Ripley and Annie, to Sandy Animal Clinic for all of their shots and medical needs and have always left feeling that I made the right choice in Vets. On our most recent visit Josh was the one who took care of us. I knew right away that he was one of those people that love animals and thought he has a dream job doing something that he enjoys. I strongly recommend Sandy Animal Clinic to anyone who is looking for a vet to look after your pets.
Puppy is doing much better..
I was seen really quickly and my collie was treated really well
We love the Sandy Animal Clinic. The staff has a very good way with our anxious little dog. They are always very friendly and professional. We have used many veterinary clinics over the many years we have owned dogs, and this is our favorite. Highly recommend.
They are very friendly and extremely helpful
Great people! Very caring, compassionate and professional.
Nice friendly customer service
Best vet in town
First vet thats let me inside the building with my dogs
My dog died at this clinic. Why? I will never know exactly, surgical complications? However, I want to share my experience afterwards. The doctor nor his staff showed sympathy towards our families loss. There was no phone call, no flowers, or card. My husband picked up our dog s body. Afterwards I ask him if the Vet said, I m sorry for you loss? Sadly, he did not. The next day I tried to initiate a phone call with the Vet and, he tried to OWN our pain making me feel bad that we had caused him and his staff to have our dog die in their clinic. If you are looking for a sympathetic clinic to bring your beloved pet, you should look elsewhere. It was so painful to lose our Luna, but even more so that those with her as she died could not say to her family, I am so sorry for your loss.
Ive been taken my dog bear here since Ive been in Salt Lake. This is the best place Ive taken my dog to their always efficient and helpful. I had a appointment at 920 and got thier early they got me in and got me out by 924. Amazing staff and vets 100% recommend taking your beloved animals here.
Very helpful staff. They take time to explain what is happening to your animal. Easy to locate.
They were fast and friendly. They treated me and my puppy with respect. I dont feel like there was any beating around the bush about anything and I really appreciate that.
My dog has been a regular visitor here for 4 years, since she was a pup. Today I called for an emergency appointment and they cant get her in for 2 weeks. Come on, what kind of service and care is that?
People care
I had my Luna spayed & declawed here and they did an amazing job! Honestly had she not had a cone on you would have never known she had work done, she healed up super fast and the wounds look great, she s back to her normal playful self Also the price was very fare and they didn t try and pressure me into things that are optional like some places do. I highly recommend Sandy Animal Clinic.
My dog is in his last days and I needed help having him euthanized. Im not a regular customer so they said no. Thanks for the help during my pain
Love this place and wouldn t take my German shepherds anywhere else!
This is what my Dogs ears look like after the vet cropped them, i hope they can be fixed . They want to charge me another 250 dollars to fix them
I had to pick up my sisters dog she scheduled appointment she was very worried about taking her dog there because of the awful refuse she read about 5starz her and I give this animal clinic the doctors were very awesome with how they handle her hurt dog end result dog is doing very well and happy if you want your pet well taking care of and most problems that can happen with your pet animal hospital will definitely help your pet get back to full recovery the doctors are highly experienced and good with treating your pet and they went over everything they did to help her dog showing prices and allowing us to chose what we could afford at the time to help her dog
Great Animal clinic
The staff was genuinely caring to my animals. A calm environment, with patient help, and knowledgeable Dr.
THE ONLY VET I GO TO, MY SON ALSO. WE KNOW WHO GOOD!!! DR EDMONDS IS A GREAT VET. HES HELPED MY CRICKET SO MUCH. ALSO HELPS MY SONS DOG SLICK WE DONT & WONT GO ANYWHERE ELSE.
Loved the dogs!
Dr. Edmunds is hands down the best vet in SLC Valley! Has taken exceptional care of me and my pups for many years. Is my go to for anything big or small. Customer service is phenomenal, cost is more than fair, and execution of services is top notch. I drive from Magna because I want the best for my animals. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sandy Animal Clinic!
Love these guys. Everyone there is kind, friendly, helpful, and truly care about the animals they treat. They are also very reasonably priced. Win-win.
They helped me through the good times and bad over the last 10 years. Dr Edmunds is great!
I called about my dog being sick during the current national pandemic which I lost my job from and all they care about is money
They care about the animals and their paarents
Very nice
What happened to this place! I was referred to Dr Edmonds by a family friend 5+ years ago, and have personally referred many family and friends (received considerable account credits as such over the years). Somehow over the years, we stopped seeing Dr Edmunds, and started to see Dr McDonald. Over the years, we have taken our 2 family dogs and were looking to add another today. We took in our new family puppy for her first round of vaccines this afternoon (paying for the full puppy package with unnecessary upgrades, but whatever), she within an hour began vomiting. No problem we thought, as the vet was still open for a few hours, we had driven out of town and we re about an hour away and the vet had advised we come in for anti-nausea medicine over the phone. No such luck, Dr McDonald apparently has left the office by the time we make the drive, 40 minutes before closing time. While we were warned the Dr needed to leave early, she knew we were on our way, speeding trying to get our sick family puppy into the office, with no call notifying us she had left. I was advised over the phone of this when I called to let them know how far away we were, and was also told that because Dr McDonald cares about my dogs well-being(laugh), they referred us to an emergency vet. Checking the details of my bill, to see if there s any limits on refunding our puppy package concerned about the care we ve received, and see the note for after hour emergencies, to contact Blue Pearl, no mention of IN HOUR emergencies. It seems this office is just now in it for the money and the over priced puppy packages, but lacking where it counts. If anyone is interested, they did luckily refund me for services not rendered today, and I took that money and spent it in its entirety on an emergency vet, as Dr McDonald advised, all before our family vet technically closed for the day. We won t be taking any of our pets here again, and will advise everyone we ve gotten to go to Sandy Animal Clinic to do the same. We re now in the market for a caring but importantly, reliable doctor for our furry family friends.
This place is great even the puppy loves it
Couldnt have been more kind and compassionate when our beloved pet (BUDDY) passed away. Thank you to all the staff.
We have had great experiences at Sandy Animal Clinic. They are friendly and you can tell the staff all love animals.
Dr. Edmunds and his staff are top notch. Theyve taken great care of our two Olde English Bulldogges from basic check-ups to ACL tears, they are thorough, thoughtful and reasonably priced.
Brought our Doberman here to have her ears done and everyone we have interacted with has been amazing. My dogs ears look beautiful and she has been well taken care of here!
Dr. MacDonald and the Staff were outstanding in the care and treatment of our poodle. This really is the place to bring the pets you care about.
Amazing clinic! The staff is friendly and always treat my pets well!
My dog loves these folks. Even when theyre booked out they manage to get you in.
They really care about my fur babies and usually are able to get me in within reasonable time frame.
Denver, the assistant is great. Miss having Dr Edmond care for my pets. Expensive but great care...not available for all needs.
This staff is professional, compassionate and take incredible care of your pet and you when difficult decisions are made. I couldn t ask for a better vet.
Love Dr. Edmonds and his crew. I have taken my dogs there for many years.
They were punctual and friendly.Didnt have to wait forever for an appointment. The medications they recommended worked great!
Best puppy package we could find in the valley.
Nice people working the front desk and smart and empathetic doctors that make a hard experience tolerable.
Work around my schedule, have always got me in in a timely manner. Take good care of my pup and they clearly care about animals.
Best Vet in SLC
This review is specifically for our dobermans ear crop with dr. Edmonds. Dr. Edmonds has done A LOT of Doberman ear crops, and we were so happy with how our pups ears turned out.
Amazing Staff and Doctors. Highly recommend you try them out!
So friendly. They truly love animals an Dr Edmonds is absolutely amazing. He even knows about protection and police dogs.
Is a great place to go this time they were super busy and could not see my dog who was so much in pain but I still think it s a good place for your pets
This place is great. Dr. Edmonds is the best. Highly recommend
Opinion: AVOID AT ALL COST Dr. Edmonds is great and genuinely cares about your animals, Dr. Macdonald not so much. In all my experience in dealing with vets, Sandy Animal Clinic has to be the most dishonest vet I have ever taken my animals to. This is a very common complaint among vets, but this clinic only cares about money. I completely understand that vets are expensive, but for your money you would at least expect competent and honest treatment, no? We started taking our kittens here when they had a bad case of diarrhea. After a stool test it came back that the kittens had an unidentified bacterial rod growth and they were put on an antibiotic (paid ~$150 total). A little over a week later one of our kittens diarrhea was worsening and he was starting to get sluggish so we had to bring him in so that they could run more tests on him. While he was gone for the day, they ran X-rays, blood panels, etc. on him and couldn t figure out what was wrong. We got a call from Dr. Macdonald that he could have a blockage in his stomach and we could either take him for an ultrasound somewhere else because they don t offer this service or she was willing to open him up (!!) to do a probe. About half an hour later we got another call saying they did a stool sample, and there s nothing to worry about - he just has a parasite. All of this racked up to a bill of ~$500. Now I m not a vet, but if I had a kitten that came in two weeks prior and saw he had an unidentified bacterial rod growth and he was brought in with no signs of improvement wouldn t it make sense to first run another stool sample to see if I could identify the bacteria now? I honestly think the vet was very embarrassed by this entire situation, but they still had the gall to charge us full price for what I would chalk up to a rookie mistake. A few weeks ago we specifically took our kittens in for vaccines and had the vet take a look at their ears to check why they both had so much debris in their ears. The vet inspected the ears and cleaned them without giving us a price quote upfront. We ended up paying over $220 for what should have been a routine vaccine visit. About a week ago, one of our kittens started to vigorously scratch and shake her head. We decided to take her to a different vet this time and the new vet said that the previous vet at Sandy Animal Clinic improperly cleaned her ears resulting in a wax buildup against her eardrum, too deep to get it out easily. There s a chance this can be resolved by using a medicine to melt the wax, but if we don t react fast, it can result in a chronic illness where our kitten will lose her sense of balance and can become deaf. We can also seek out a surgeon to intubate her and try to remove the wax, resulting in what I imagine would be an extremely large bill. All of this is a direct result of the incompetence we experienced at Sandy Animal Clinic which in a span of 3 weeks has already charged us ~$900 in total. You will be better off choosing a different clinic than this one. We wish we had never visited this place.
Extremely poor service. Absolutely atrocious communication. I will NOT be taking my beautiful baby girl here ever again. If you choose to bring your pet here, you will get pinned by multiple B.S. charges. I called and verified the price of a spaying procedure and upon picking my dog up, it was almost 400% more than what I was told over the phone. Do not trust any 5 or even 4 star reviews for this clinic. Dishonest, shady, corrupt clinic. Your pet and wallet will be better off if you take your pet elsewhere.
I thought this clinic was great at first... but no. I took my elderly dog here because he has been sick, repeatedly (diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy). They have prescribed the same probiotics multiple times even when we tell them they do not work. We took our dog in to get x-rays and a stool sample done (THAT THEY SUGGESTED) and after the stool sample they said the X-rays aren t warranted. Now it s the next day and my dog is violently ill, he has went diarrhea twice in my house and vomited all over the place. He is clearly not himself. I m pretty sure something is going on internally and we could have gotten this taken care of with the X-rays but no. If my dog ends up dying due to their neglectful ways I hope they feel terrible about it. Do yourselves a favor and go to a clinic that will listen to the owners side of things and take you seriously. Unprofessional. Not worth the money. Go somewhere else.
While I have no complaints about the care my dog was given for routine check-ups, I have serious concern about the care he received as he began to age. It seems that every time we visited with health concerns there was very little competence about what was going on with my dog and even less surety about how to treat him. I began to feel like Dr. Edmonds, Dr. Macdonald and their staff were not being proactive about my dogs care. My frustrations [and my instincts] ultimately led me to search out another vet who immediately recognized what was wrong with my dog and created a treatment plan to help him. I will not be returning to Sandy Animal Clinic and would encourage anyone considering Sandy Animal Clinic for their pets care to consult with a second veterinarian before committing.
Excelent service, they really care for pets
This vet office really cares and will answer your endless questions. And theyre less expensive than my previous vet office.
We have always been so impressed with Dr Edmonds and his team. They are very knowledgeable and courteous. We highly recommend the Sandy Animal Clinic
Excellent service Dr. McDonald is very nice with my dog
Very friendly, knowledgeable staff. Clean facilities. I brought my cat for a dental procedure and they took great care of her.
1st time I have ever went here now they are my vet forever they treat my dog like she was a member of their family
Very friendly staff! We just had to put down our 15 year old cat and they were very sympathetic and nice about the whole process
I love this place! The staff is always really good and you can tell they all love their job. They have done everything from cleaning my pups teeth to helping with infected toes. They are worth the money! Take your pet here you wont be disappointed!
Excellent people, very good with our pits.
I am very happy with Sandy Animal Clinic. Their staff are genuine people that care about your fur children, and it shows. I have been to a few different places in Sandy and this one is by far the best. I like that they have fair prices and tell you up front the cost of services so its not a surprise later. This last visit they were able to get me in fairly quickly when my dog wasnt feeling well. Dr. Macdonald took the time to go over my dogs xrays and explain what was going on. Thank you for taking care of us!
This place is the BEST!!! they take such good care of my pup! Friendly and knowledgeable staff!
Talked on the phone confirming price for our visit and then after 45 minutes into the visit they told me they quoted the wrong price and it would actually be $200 more. Completely their fault and would not accept the price originally quoted. Wasted mine and my dogs time. Wouldn t recommend after our visit.
If you are looking for a solid Vet with an incredible and helpful staff, Sandy Animal Clinic is that place. We take our two dogs and our cat to this location and have always had a great experience. I cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond for us when we needed them the most. I highly recommend this location and would encourage you to give them a shout if you are looking for a great vet in Sandy City.
I was with my previous vet for nearly 20 years and it was tough to make the decision to switch but I am so happy I did! Ive been going to Sandy Animal Clinic for the last year with my cat and love the service we get there. My poor baby has some chronic issues that are still hard to get under control but I know that the doctors are doing their best to try everything we can. Their prices are great and all of the staff is just wonderful.
Very kind staff that took good care of our pup. I was surprised when everyone got down on the ground to say hi and examine him.
They take extra care to make sure your animals are comfortable and looked after. Great care for surgeries and other medical conditions. Thank you Sandy Animal Clinic!
I love this place. Every time the whole staff is so friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable in their work and have taken great care of my cat! Keep up the good work.
I had a great first impression of this place and it s staff! It was a great environment, and it was quick and affordable to get my dog taken care of.
We LOVE Sandy Animal Clinic and take all of our pets here. The staff is incredibly accommodating , knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate. By far the best vet clinic in Utah.
They treat the animals like family
Staff was very attentive and very kind. My dog is super timid and they handled him accordingly.
Sandy Animal Clinic has an absolutely fantastic staff. Doctor Paul Edmond, Justin , and front office personnel were all very helpful, caring, and understanding. They helped our family .This clinic it s amazing we love you, Shasta, Siena, Sazha & Justin Thank you!
Very helpful and reasonable pricing.
They have been very helpful and kind. I ve been looking through the reviews and it seems that any bad reviews were miscommunication, people placing blame where it shouldn t be, or people not understanding that this is a business that charges money. It s disappointing to read. Everyone at this clinic is friendly and accommodating. When no other vet could squeeze my dog in when she was sick, they offered to let me drop her off if I needed to, so I could go to work. When I call with questions, they are quick to call me back. And I appreciate how the doctor gets on the ground rather then lifting my dog on to a table. They do a good job.
Best clinic ever! Took great care of my sweet puppies. Everyone was so helpful and patient. Highly recommend!!
The staff is very caring and I have no complaints with the care I received. I have been in several times and have always been impressed with the care and cleanliness of this location. Will keep bringing my dogs in
I would not recommend this vet to anyone. Not only are they unfriendly, they misdiagnose your pet and will charge you and arm and a leg for terrible service. DO NOT GO HERE.
What a great place to take your pet! The staff is friendly. The animal doctors know their stuff. Its clean and well cared for! They are very thorough in their care for the needs of your furry little children and are respectful and sensitive in situations where you may have to say goodbye. I highly recommend Sandy Animal Clinic!
Wonderful vet. Friendly staff and clean office.
Dr Edmonds is a kind, wonderful man. He took great care of my dog Guppi after surgery. It is obvious that he truly cares for his fur-patients. HOWEVER, last year in April Dr Mcdonald did surgery on the wrong side of my dog Guppis body. When I brought my dog in to get 3 lumps removed, Nikki marked 2 of them with a sharpie and didnt mark the one on HIS right side saying it was obvious enough. When I brought him home later, there was an incison on his left side and the tumor was still there on his right side. I called and spoke to Nikki and she said everyone was home for the day and that the manager would call me the next morning. Well no one did, so I called that next morning and asked for his medical records and NIkki has added a note in his records that I had refused to let her mark the area of the 3rd tumor. Seriously, I let her mark the first two and not the second two?! I called the office manager Susan and told her Nikki was lying and she said that wasnt true and only offered to remove the tumor for free. I spoke to the head technician and she told me they did remove a tumor on the left side. I told her there wasnt one there and she said there was. I told her I know my dogs body and she kept saying I was wrong. The whole staff treated me like this was my fault. They were incredibly rude, and didnt even care that my dog had to come back again for another surgery to get the tumor that that they missed the first time. The whole experience was horrifying. I was shocked that no one apologized, and they all were mean to me. They didnt care about me or my pet. They only cared that they made a mistake and they needed to save their butts. I called around to lawyers in town to file a malpractice suit against them and no one would because there isnt enough money in it. I was totally shocked. Where I lived in Idaho before the lawyers would have filed for me. So now I look at Sandy Animal Clinics website and they made Nikki their office manager!? That was a total mistake. What other dogs has she hurt and lied about this? Stay away from this place if you love your animals.
Excellent so far - didnt give 5* because I did have to wait a little longer than my puppy wanted at my last appointment, but fairly sure it was an exceptionally busy day!
Fantastic clinic. Made a followup appointment for my dad and his dog who had be attacked. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Very clean clinic, and quick service. Very reasonable prices. This will be my regular vet from now on. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a regular clinic for their pets.
Great vet are used when I was out of town and they were absolutely awesome
Friendly staff and couldn t ask for a better place for my dog. The only problem was the fact my dog has an ear infection, they cleaned his ears and then put a wax type fill in. Well on the way home dog still shaking his head... that fill is now all over the inside of my truck. So besides now needing detailed I d say put a cover over the ears so this doesn t happen to other customers.
My Chihuahua is high strung, but the wonderful people at Sandy Animal Clinic help her make it through even the hardest procedures happily.
Only place our behaves. Nice staff.
My 8 week old puppy and I visited Dr. MacDonald for her wellness exam, deworming, and first round of shots! Laura and Dr. M were absolutely fantastic. They give you a doggy bag with tons of information on how to care for a new puppy. I also loved how the deworming comes in a doggy yumyum or a liquid form (for smaller dogs that cant eat big treats) that apparently tastes like bananas!! They are so flexible and make sure that you understand all of your options for the wellbeing of your pet. I was expecting to pay ALOT of money, but I didnt even come close to my estimation. Theyre one of the few vets out there that care more about the animal than the money. They wont offer you unnecessary vaccines like another place I visited did. YIKES. My puppy only cried for a few seconds after the shot, and then was completely fine. Not even a limp!! The whole process was so easy and stress free for myself and my puppy. Thank you guys so much!!!
These peeps are best. Theyll always greet you soon and kindly, and the the Vets are darn good too. Fin and Daegan approved.
Awesome place to take your pooch. Patient and caring
Dr. Edmonds is fantastic! Probably the best vet my dogs have had. If you choose this place, make 100% sure that you visit with Dr. Edmonds ONLY. He s kind, very knowledgeable, great with your pets. However, Dr. McDonald, she is a very nice person, But she is NOT good at her job. Over the past few years, she: - Recomended urgent surgery on what turn out to be a small bump (later diagnosed correctly by Dr. Edmonds) - Perform wellness exams without touching the dogs; the Vet assistant would do everything while the Doctor only observed. - Recommended preventive surgery on my dog eye, while it was merely a slight esthetic imperfection. (Again, Dr. Edmonds accurately clarified) - Ignore my dog s ear infection twice; first, we bring up the issue and provide dark residue from the dogs ear. She dismiss it without examination, and diagnoses a rash. Weeks later, issue remains, ear gets worse, Dr McDonald recommends a different rash medication... We finally take our dog to a different vet, turns out he has a severe infection. The new vet without second thought, examined the residue as it looked worrisome, and discovered yeast and bacteria! As much as my family loves Dr. Edmonds and the wonderful staff, we have decided to move on. Since the Drs. split clinic time and we have Limited business hours flexibility, we have had to meet with Dr. M mostly and unfortunately, my dogs health can t afford to continue meeting with her. We will miss Dr. Edmonds and the staff and wish them the very best! If He ever opens his own clinic, he can count with 3 patients!
They have been trusted in our fur babies care for over 10 years and we are very happy with the care they provide.
Just got my baby spayed. They have been so friendly and helpful with my new puppy.
Love my girls at Sandy Animal. They do an exceptional job, especially Laura & Jenny.
If you have a sick animal this is a fantastic place to take it for help
Friendly staff, clean atmosphere, and Dr Paul Edmonds is caring! Its nice to have a vet that is not in and out that is actually concerned and wants to know about your animals!
Took very good care of my kitty
If I could give zero stars I would!
Dr. Paul Edmonds is an exceptional vet. We trust him and his staff to take care of our three Fur-Kids. They do a great job, and have been for the past 15 years.
The staff at Sandy Animal Clinic are very friendly, nice, professional, and helpful. When my kitty NuNu had a limp they got her in quickly on a Saturday without prior appt. and found she had a fever. They gave her some antibiotics and anti-inflammatory, the price for visit and the shots was very agreeable. Now my little baby is running around as happy as can be. Thank you very much for your attentiveness and knowledge. I will be back for any future care and needs.
Two years ago we relocated to Draper, UT from Texas. We brought with us our dog who had adopted us about 8 years ago. At the time she came to us she had some terrible leg and shoulder injuries and we nursed her back to health with the help of our Vet in Chandler, TX. The Vet estimated the adopted Strays age to be about 5 or 6 years old. At the time that we acquired her we also had a very old black lab mix female who was probably on the last year or two of her life.as she was 13 years old. The Black Lab had begun to have incontinence problems and the vet gave her an Estrogen shot to slow it down which in fact it did until she passed away about a year later. Last year the adopted stray (a mixed breed with some Yellow Lab and Doberman physical characteristics) began to have her own incontinence problems and our new Vet from Lone Peak Animal Hospital in Draper prescribed Estrogen pills for her. At first they were working fine but eventually they topped being effective. I asked the vet for an Estrogen shot for her and the Vet said that she didnt have it and couldnt do it. I then called around and found that most all of the Vet Offices in Draper did not have it . So I looked at Vet Clinics in other towns and the Sandy Animal Clinic said they did have it and that I should bring her in. The Office person had put be on hold to personally check with the Vet and returned to the phone to confirm that they in fact had them and could administer the injection. A caller from the office who contacted me the day before the appointment reaffirmed that they could give her an Estrogen injection. We scheduled the appointment, I rearranged my appointments and other conflicts on my schedule. a few days later I loaded up my dog and took her to the Sandy Clinic... they had me fill out forms, and they weighed the dog again (I had just had her go through a series of injections and an overall physical) took her temperature, and then told us to weight for the Vet. About 10 minutes later the Vet inters the room, sits down and informs me that they dont do injections and that the only thing that they could and would do was offer the same pills that she had been taking. I told them that they had pretty much lied to us and messed up our schedule for a week and led us along to get us in their clinic . I then grabbed the leash and let the dog back to the car and drove away. Bottom line is that I was very dissatisfied. I felt that I was lied to in order to try and capture a new patient. I would never take any of my pets to this facility again and would caution anyone thinking of doing so to make absolutely certain that they are willing to do what they promise and at a price that they promise. All in all it was a very bad experience.
It is 9/23/17 7:10PM Currently sitting with my frozen pup. He died on 9/21/17. To an unsuccesful surgery. It made him more sick than he already was. This dog of mine will hold a very special place in my heart. We bring him home and he is the happiest dog ever. 24 hours later he is gone. They tell me they did everything for him. You could of done more. Not to get snappy with my sister when she asked if she was in the right place. Your staff where more worried about putting info in the computer than taking my dying dog into emergency operations. I now get to live with him not being here anymore. Im still trying to figure out why they couldnt save him. At the end I do not recommend this animal clinic. 0 customer care. But are happy to take your thousands and thousands of dollars. Dash could of lived on to another 6 years. But there main focuse was not on my dying dog but a transaction and a snappy attitude seem to suffice. my dog is now dead no sense of urgency I believe they put him on a table and let him die!! Thank you for an unpleasent experience. Not even a concern to my younger brother. just a simple sorry. To the point where they wanted us out!!!! A huge malpractice and wrong doing to such an innocent little doggy!!!
Fantastic service and love for my furry kids.
Friendly staff, and knowledgeable, always have our pets interests before ours...and thats ok.
Always friendly when I take my cat luna, i like how they love interacting with animals and make they feel at ease.
So glad we found this place. They are making our bulldog feel young again . Very helpful after the visit is done too. Thanks
Had a great experience. My cat needed a rabies shot. Jamie is the one who gave it to her and she was amazing. My cat is very skittish and prone to fighting and running but Jamie made the whole thing as painless as possible. Thank You!
Doctor Paul Edmonds is an amazing personable vet. We have been coming to Sandy Animal Clinic for over 20 years. Paul takes the time to get to know your pet. I love that he gets on the floor with our dog(s) to examine them rather than those cold exam tables. My dogs through the years love him. He has the best interest of you and your pet in mind. I highly recommend Dr. Paul Edmonds for your loved animals.
My family has taken all of our pets to Sandy Animal Clinic for 20 + years. Overall we had great experiences, but that wasnt the case with my last experience with them. I took my sweet French Bulldog in to get spayed. I got a call from Dr Edmunds around 2:00pm, stating that my puppy wasnt waking up like they would have liked, and she also had several seizures. They told me they wanted to watch her for a couple of more hours and theyd call me back at 4:00pm. I didnt hear from them, so I decided to call them back. Spoke with the vet, states there was no change. My options were to leave my puppy there overnight or to take her to a hospital since no one would be there with her overnight. I decided to take my puppy to the vet hospital. I arrived to pick her up with my dad, I couldnt go back to see her so my dad did. He stated that she looked horrible, that she looked like she was dying. The vet then told us, she may be dying, she went into cardiac arrest. Non of this information was told to us on the phone when we spoke twice previously. If I knew it was that serious, I would have taken my dog to the hospital a lot sooner. My dad took her to the hospital, (since I could bear the sight of seeing her) that vet told us that she was having seizures, and probably been having seizures all day. They put her in a medically induced coma. Turns out my sweet puppy was brain damaged, and wouldnt live through the night. We ended up having to put her down at our cost. Sandy Animal Clinic also made us pay $390 for the spay before we took her to the hospital (paying for a procedure that killed my dog). I understand that things can happen during surgery, but we werent aware of how serious the issues were. We were kept in the dark about what happened to my dog, then had to take her to the hospital to put her down. They knew how bad she was, and didnt even call later on to check up on us. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone! It was one of the worst experience of my life! Save yourself the money and heartache and find another clinic.
Great Vets and Groomers for my pups!
People writing reviews LOVE to complain about something!! There are cheaper places and maybe clinics with robots who never forget to send you home with all your medications! GO find them but you get what you pay for. Oh and on your way, get a more exciting life. I LOVE this doctor! He spent more time with us answering our questions then most any other vet we have been to. The staff is friendly, prices are fair, and the place is clean. 5 in my book.
We have been going to this clinic back when they were off of 700 east in Sandy :) have never gone anywhere else, the staff is sweet & i love Dr Edmonds!!!! Kristy the groomer is AMAZING & literally is my fav for my cutie pie dogg! :) reasonable prices that fit my budget!!
Dr. Edmonds and his staff have always been the best at answering questions and taking the best of care of our cats. Thanks for your service.
I love coming to this clinic - the staff is always very pleasant and the place is clean. I took my longhair cat there for grooming last Friday. The staff (Jennie and Laura) were very accommodating to my and my cats needs, which created less stress for my cat. I appreciate that! Wouldnt go anywhere else!
Very good place to take your animals to. They have always been there for my dog. They are a top notch animal care service.
Amazing staff here. I had to take my 13 year old Dutch Shepherd in to get a second opinion on osteosarcoma. Dr. Edmunds was very knowledgeable and helpful with my situation, and when the time came the I had to let my baby girl go, they took care of everything. I had her cremated and she was returned in a pretty little bag with a card, and the box she was in was perfect. Thank you for taking care of my Macha.
I started going here because it was so highly recommended and I have had the worst experience. The staff is TERRIBLE. everyone is grumpy and rude. When I go in they ignore me until I say something. My puppy got fixed about 3 weeks ago, when they did the surgery they messed up and I had to take him back in 2 days later. I will never go back.
I took my dog to Sandy Animal Clinic today for the first time, I was very pleased with there service. They were friendly, very sweet, and caring towards my pup; Dr. Edmonds took the time to explain everything, and was thorough, the place was clean, and didnt smell. Well definitely be back!
My dog absolutely loves Sandy Animal Clinic and its staff! The technicians and doctors treat her like she is one of their own, it is quite adorable! She even enjoys her spa day with the groomer.. she smells amazing and looks like a princess when I pick her up! Knowing she trusts them makes it easy for me to trust them as well. The facility itself is very clean, very limited pet odor for the amount of traffic that goes in and out of it. I would recommend Sandy Animal Clinic to anyone who loves their pet!
They have been great with us an our pets
They sold me a half used bottle of medicine! A week ago I would have given this clinic a good ratting. Ive been with them for decades, through three dogs, even after they built their new building and raised the rates considably. A month or two ago, I took my dog in to be groomed and reevaluate his medication. The doctor recommend a staph spray to treat the staph infection in his groin. They forgot to sell me the spray that day. A few weeks later, I called to get the medication, went back in, and after a bit of hassle, paid for a small spray bottle with instructions to use it on the infected area three times a day for two weeks. When I applied it, I noticed the bottle seemed only about half full, and I wondered if I had enough to finish the treatment. I didnt. So when I ran out of it after six days, I called them, expecting to hear, Oh, sorry about that, come in and we will refill the prescription so you can complete the dogs treatment. That is not what the office person said. This is what I got from her: 1. I had used the spray wrong and wasted it on unaffected areas (I did exactly what was prescribed, and rather stingefully at that). 2. Since I had noticed the bottle was not full when I started treatment, it was my responsibility to take it back right away. This would provide proof the bottle was not full in the first place (How?). Since the bottle was now empty (after six days in a two week treatment), I had no proof. (Huh? What else could they think I was using it for? And why were they not responsible for filling the prescription correctly to begin with?). 3. To get the rest of the medication and continue treatment, I had to make an appointment for the dog to be reexamined. (Thats an extra fifty bucks). 4. I was told to speak to the office manager. (Who was not there and didnt call me back). Aqt that point, I had no choice but to stop treatment. I knew I probably would have to start it all over again. So I went in and complained to this same person who only repeated what she said on the phone. She was loud mouthed to me, so I was loud back to her. She told me to lower my voice. In the end I told her I was finding another vet. Thats when she told me to get out. I did, never to return. I should have demanded a refund on the medication, but didnt. Intetestinly enough, another customer was there picking up her dog. She had paid in advance for six of her dogs treatments to get one free. They charged her for the free one. I doubt she was happy either. Sandy Animal Clinic is not honest with their customers. I would not recommend you go there for services.
We have been going to this veterinarian center for years went in for a grooming today and they said we must have kennel cough vaccination updated or they wouldnt see my dog which cost me another 50 bucks... And they just saw her two weeks ago! so now I have to take my dog to another groomer who will do it without a kennel cough vaccination required update I will actually charge me much less for the grooming and actually much less for the vaccination itself ....very disappointed
Sandy Animal Clinic is AWESOME!! Ive been taking my pets to Dr. Edmonds for years and have always had a great experience. Dr. E is wonderful to work with and really cares about your furry children. Unlike other vets Ive been to, Dr. E never pushes unnecessary tests or proceedures but takes the time to clearly explain all options available to ensure you pets are happy, healthy and pain free. His staff is first class and always helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a top notch veterinary clinic, Sandy Animal Clinic is where you need to go!
All vets have their own methods of treatments. Dr. Edmonds and Dr. Morrissey at Sandy Animal Clinic may use methods that could cost you more money, and make your pet go through more discomfort and pain then they should. First, don t expect them to go over any services/procedures with you beforehand. Also, for your sake before paying make sure they actually performed everything you re billed for. We took our 4-5 month old kitten in to get spayed because our first visit for our other cat, 1 year prior, was pleasant. Getting an estimate on the procedure/ services being done was a waste of our time, and may be a waste of your time because they obviously don t reference it. They forgot to give her the de-wormer we were billed for, they performed an unnecessary epidural without asking/notifying us, and didn t give her the antibiotic shot we had specifically requested, nor did they tell us it wasn t administered. When we went in to pick up our kitten we noticed her back was shaved. It wasn t until then we were told she had an epidural, thus getting stuck with the expense. We asked the technician why a small kitten would need the general anesthetic, an epidural, and the shot for extended pain relief (alternative option to oral pain medication). She stumbled over her words a moment, and never gave a clear answer. This was very frustrating because the epidural was not necessary; resulting in a small kitten being pumped full of 3 different pain medications in a short period of time, and leaving us with an outrageous bill. This proved to me that their compassion and concern for the animals comes second to money. As for her suture they chose to use staples, which I wasn t thrilled about. A few days after being home we noticed one of her staples looked like it was coming loose and another one was too tight and began ripping a hole in her belly, causing the poor little girl more pain. (We were keeping her from jumping/playing and kept her environment very clean.) Personally, I do not agree with Dr. Edmonds method of using rigid staples in the soft skin of a kitten. I m sure staples are easier and quicker to apply then stiches, but I have never seen as much irritation and damaged caused by stiches. By the next day we noticed there was drainage coming from the suture. Unfortunately we had to take her back to Dr. Morrissey. She took her in the back to clean the suture and remove one staple that was falling out, and remove the one that was ripping a hole in her belly. The technician then came in to tell us there was a little bit of infection and proceeded to bill us $40.00 for an antibiotic shot. We were confused since we initially asked for her to have the shot. We told the technician we asked for it to be done during our first visit, and she told us they decided not to do it. Why we were never told, I don t know. After explaining to the technician that we weren t going to pay for something that should have already been done; she eventually got the charges waived. I appreciate them for doing this very much, although it should have been avoided completely. Needless to say, I refuse to take my business to Sandy Animal Clinic and hope that other pet owners are aware that the main objective at this clinic is money, not the animal s well-being.
We have been going to this vet exclusively for over 11 years. We have had several animals needing surgeries spay/neuter, rabies vaccines and other necessary health visits. Recently our older dog has been in need of 4 surgeries once a year for the last 4 years. We recently went in for a groom so we could get the surgery done, and got a bid. Went back to pick up the dog after the grooming the and the quote increased by over $300. When we questioned the doctor he said there are three moles that need to be removed not one and the teeth cleaning. We just spent $125 for the grooming, exam and anitbiotics. It will almost cost $1000 for the removal of 3 moles and teeth cleaning and thats with the 20% discount. We thought this was excessive, we tried to get it lowered but they wanted to cut out the antibiotics which we thought was strange especially after a surgery. They also wanted to cut out removal of any small moles they would find too which was a $100 if they found any, again I thought was bizarre since this was the purpose of the surgery. I am extremely dissappointed in their apparent greed instead of my loyalty and my dogs health.
There are many Vets the Sandy/Draper area. I called around to see what each had to offer. I was immediately impressed by Sandy Animal Clinic. They were informative and friendly on the first call. I dropped by the office to see what it was like and the building is clean, updated and very nice. I took my puppy in and I was very satisfied with the way they greeted me, cared for my dog and explained everything to me about the visits and costs. The Doctor was great and even took time to talk to me and get to know me and my family. The staff is awesome and Id highly recommend them.
