Every time I go there the only friendly person is the guy at the register!!! Any other are always snappy , lack of Customer Service and it’s always a feeling of debating if I knowledgeable of what I’m getting or not these girls are not friendly at all. You choose the wrong place for this job if you are not comfortable around people!! they come to you basically saying what do you want instead of high? How are you? How’s your day going? What can I assist you with good choice? What kind of animal you have there’s none of that. I feel like I need to speak up because it’s really important to have a sustainable conversation to bring at least good CUSTOMERS SERVICE.
Don’t go to the groomers. They either don’t listen or don’t have the experience to do what they’re asked. For example, I asked for short ears. They left her ears extremely long to the point where I’m not sure they even trimmed them. I asked for a 1” tail. They left 4 inches’ worth. I asked for no beards. They left beards. Their paws are choppy. There’s still hair in front of their eyes. And, they made me pay for a groom that was supposed to be free. Even though I paid in full, I still have to go spend an hour fixing their haircuts so they actually look cute. If you’re okay having the groomers practice and gain experience on your dogs, then by all means, go there. But if you’re looking for a professional-level haircut, go somewhere else.
Customer service was poor. Came to inquire about buying a fish. But was met with poor treatment by a condescending employee. She could have said “sorry, certain requirements need to be met before I am allowed to sell you a fish.” Unfortunately she chose a not so customer friending wording or tone of voice. Instead she chose to condescendingly state “you really should have done more research before looking to buy a fish.” I also don’t think she knows as much as she says about tank size because when it came to that I had done plenty of research regarding that and the info she provided was contrary to what I found before looking at buying a fish. At the risk of lowering myself to her level I must add that petco “really should“ care better for the fish they have before lecturing others on how to care for fish as there were 2 dead fish in their tank at the time. Then when someone asks where certain supplies are they shouldn’t exasperatedly provide an answer.
Went to buy few Glofish, I ask for help twice Never got help, wait for 30 minutes. Still didn’t get help. Had to leave the store without the Glofish.
I get my dog groomed here, and it's a great deal! I don't take hin anywhere else. He doesn't need a whole lot though since he has short hair. We do the mini make rover and he always smells so nice after, his nails and nice and trimmed. All good things. Staff is always friendly too
Don’t take your dog here to get their nails trimmed. We took him here on 12/1/2024 at 2:30 PM for a wash and nail trim. When we went to pick him up they told us they couldn’t trim his nails because he was barking. You’re a pet grooming business. You’re telling me you can’t trim his nails because he was barking? Never going here again, waste of time and money. I have always taken him to PetSmart to have this done and they have never had a problem. I tried this place because it was closer. Never again. Take your pets to PetSmart. They are so much more professional.
I am so grateful for the grooming department. Heather is phenomenal! I have a standard poodle 🐩 so getting the grooming right is always tricky somewhere new and they were perfect, patient and very sweet. Thank you and can't wait to see you again in a few weeks. Already booked!
They are a little pricier, but I love having them close for immediate purchases and I definitely want to support local. The staff have always been friendly and helpful! We adopted a new dog and she needed a pretty collar and toy!

Came in to get a new set up for a new fish and some more fish for a current set up. Whoever the head of animals was (refused to give me her name when I asked, assuming because she knew she was being rude) rolled her eyes when I asked for help getting a fish and said she was already busy. I guess she just assumed I didn t have a set up at home and saw the new tank I had and stated she wouldn t sell me anything with that size tank. First off, crazy to assume, secondly, crazy to days does that even matter when I ask for her name, third, make sure your animal enclosures are clean/up to code before being rude to customers. Lady was young, long dark brown hair, kind of wavy. Literally quit if you hate your job. Editing after reading the reviews, seems like lots of people are met with the lady with an attitude. Petco, why do yall continue to allow this?
I am not sure if they arent staffed or what but waiting 20 minutes to have someone come check me out isnt really selling me on returning. 3 customers went looking for employees and couldnt find one. One person left because he didnt have time to wait.
I talked to the dog trainer there about what food i should buy for my puppy. He was so knowledgeable!! He took time to really explain different foods. It was much appreciated!!
If I could give zero stars I would. Do not get your dog groomed there, even for a simple bath. My dog Wrigley was groomed (the right way) a few days ago, but he had an accident in his crate and got stinky so I took him here for a bath to get rid of the smell. Unfortunately he still stinks if you told me he hadn t been washed I d believe you. He was also still WET when I picked him up. He s a golden retriever and hard to dry that s why I get it done professionally cause if he doesn t get dry all the way he smells. So now he smells twice as bad cause he wasn t fully dried and stinks from that as well. He also wasn t spritz and if he was it must smell awful. I m so frustrated a manager wasn t there and I spend freaking $52 for him to smell worse.
I read the reviews first, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt, but man, was I wrong. This place is terrible. I booked a vip treatment for my dog with Heather. When I got there, it was Asia. She said she couldnt do vip treatment for my dog she didnt have time today. I booked it 2 weeks ago with Heather, and its confirmed. She said i can come back next week.. They changed my stylist and changed my treatment. Then, after that, they said they didnt have an appointment for my other dog.. which I have emails for and texts, and its in my petco account. So I booked vip for both dogs to get none and different people and have to forget about my other dog now.. what a joke. Took over 4 hours when it was supposed to take an hour and a half with VIP! Then, after its said and done, they didnt even brush my dog, let alone spritz him with anything. He didnt even smell like he got washed he smelled worse, and his hair was falling out even more than before. Very annoyed. No way to book it correctly and they change your booking. They book 2 dogs at the same time, so he is sitting in the kennel for an hour before he is touched than after than they put him back in the kennel to dry with the blower in it. Not even a brush and blow out. They rush things and squeeze as many dogs as they can with the sacrifice of good service. Avoid and wait a couple of weeks for a good dog grooming place. I shouldve.
The girl with light red hair gives a horrible costumer service , we have gone many times to this store becasue is on our way home but is always the same thing with this girl, she totally treats you in a way it makes you think about maybe avoiding this store and go out of your way to petsmart instead. it seems like she is not there to sell you anything. She asks so many questions for a $5-10 usd fish, is not like we want to kill the fish or pet we want to get, but she starts asking useless questions to be honest, like I said , it seems she won t sell you anything, Her attitude is poor ... Funny enough, we ran into another random people with the same story regarding this same girl at petco in this location Just one person can totally ruin your experience in a store completely also when you ask for help, they leave you waiting at least for 20 min, if you have time to spare, maybe this won t be an issue for you but if you can just avoid this store.

Terrible customer service. I was the ONLY customer in the store the two employees just kept chatting and laughing with each other. I had to go ask them for help and was told yeah just a minute and we ll be over. They continued to chat and I have been standing here for ten minutes. Unbelievable.

1 star because there is not a zero star. I came to Petco to get a new fishnet. I also wanted to get a goldfish for my granddaughter. I have a planted ten gallon tank but the aquatic specialist. Refused to sell me a goldfish because I didnt have a 40 gallon tank. And I couldnt find a basic fish net in the store. I dont need to buy from this place. Im going to Pets Mart
Sold me a sick chameleon that most likely won t make it till the end of the week . I ve had him for 4 days and he s showing all signs of a respiratory infection as well as body sings he had before we brought him home that we now know are signs of a respiratory illness. Do not buy animals from petco ever !
My fur baby requires a special dog food that isnt always in stock. Thank you for stocking it and having so many options, dry kibble or canned kibble.

I would give zero stars if that was an option... This store has the worst customer service ever. I go to buy a fish, a simple fish, and get asked 20 questions and they dont let me buy one because I only have a six gallon tank. I bought the tank, all of the supplies, and food for them, from petco and was treated absolutely horrible. Why sell smaller tanks if NONE of the fish you have are allowed to be sold to you for that size?? I will NEVER shop there again. So I suggest if you want a fish without 20 questions, go to PETSMART.

I ve never been treated so poorly at a pet store in my life. I come in to buy some fish for my daughter. She s so excited to get some fish. The damn lady proceeds to ask me what size my fish tank is. And I tell her. It s big enough but because I just bought it she won t sell me the fish. I ve bought fish for my whole life and never had this happen. My daughter then starts crying because she can t get any fish. I ll never go back to a damn Petco in my life.
I had an emergency couldnt find what i was looking for needed help and questions answered. The employee was very knowledgable answered all my questions and then some then me up with exactly what i needed and at a lower price than i could see looking at the options.
This place is pathetic they have sick guinea pigs in cages full of flies this has been reported to corporate and if it doesn t change I will repot it to PETA
They mistreat animals, I dont know if this is it, but please dont take them, they leave them without an eye without being able to walk .
Decent store, has pet stuff no complaints
Will never return to this location. Just went asking for help with basic fish setup and the woman who helped us made us wait while she talked loudly to her mom then looked annoyed when she finally acknowledged us. Proceeded to be horribly rude and wouldn t stop talking to us even when we repeatedly told her we were set and asked her to leave us alone. So strange. We bought our tank and starter essentials at a different store so we wouldnt have to interact with the bizarrely hostile fish lady for one more second. I laughed out loud when I saw how many other reviewers had the same experience and cant imagine why Petco doesnt resolve the issue (posting a reply that they are sorry about our negative experience doesnt count as resolving an issue if no follow up training or staffing changes happen.) Anyway. RUN anywhere besides here if you want a fish!

What a waste of time! Set up an appointment in advance for 5:20pm. I walk in and say I m here for my 5:20 appointment. The receptionist said unfortunately the vet has left it s after 5:20. I said yeah it s probably like 5:21 (because I had just parked)? She looks down at her watch, actually it s 5:23. I said, ok (my bad I was 2 minutes off) bye. There was no let s set up another appointment. Sorry there isn t a 3 minute window let s problem solve something. Just a clueless receptionist that hasn t been trained in customer service. I will be choosing another Petco and hope it s not the same service. I was a vet tech at an urgent care and would never respond so clueless. Unfortunately, I didn t get her name and when I called retail they said they didn t know (another clueless person on the phone).

Usually a great experience here. Employees were fine but this is my first trip in where apparently you are now charging $0.10 for a plastic bag to carry my purchases home. Disappointed about this new bag fee.

I love supporting businesses in my city so when Petco opened here in Saratoga we were all on board! We have several pets and have done a good amount of shopping here. The customer service is always lagging but it hasn t been a big impact until yesterday. We went down last night about an hour before closing and were looking at the gold fish, beta, and some other options. The lady that was working there was so unhelpful, as I asked her about the fish, she kept interrupting me saying fish are harder than people think and was downright rude. It got to the point where it was clear she didn t want me business and wasn t going to sell me a fish. We decided to head over to American Fork and went to Petsmart. What a great experience that was. Petsmart not only answered all of my questions, they sold me a nice set up and explained everything to me. Super friendly people. I will be going the extra ten minutes out of my way to bring my business to Petsmart from now on. We generally only spend $300-$500 a month on pet related stuff but that s a lot to us and we won t spend with people who make shopping hard! Go Petsmart!
This store is disgusting! Right when you walk into the store, there was a Awful smell of dead animals, there was 4 employees at the front desk standing and talking, and atleast 7 full unwrapped pallets of products right at the front of the door. Fish tanks empty, betta fish swollen and dead or sick, shelves unorganized. Etc Who ever owns this store needs to put their foot down, or step down. It was AWFUL
Let me start by saying I never write reviews - especially poor reviews. But I have been consistently disappointed by the self washing service at this location. Today was the worst. After paying my $21 fee, I was (again) handed stained overused thin towels to supposedly dry my dog. No surprise - happens every time, so we always bring our own towels. Turned on the water - and within 1 minute had a flood of water covering the floor because - as we were later told - the night crew didnt clean out the drain. So we washed our dog - standing in the flood of water - again. The manager on duty was very apologetic - and promised to speak to the manager about the situation. I am sure I am not the only person who has called this out - yet nothing gets better. Come on Petco - you can do MUCH better than this.
Every time we come here this is what we get. Dirty rags to dry our clean dog and a river of dog water to stand in. We pay $21 for this?

Every time I order for drive up pick up they never bring it out. I always have to go in and the store is understaffed. So it s easy to see why it s not brought out, but also not very quick inside either especially with it being preordered.
I tried to get puppy gel at another store (PetSmart)and they didnt have it. This isnt the largest of stores, so I wasnt sure, but they had it and honored the lower price I saw online.

I had a appointment for my German shepherd to be groomed. Unfortunately, we didnt have the proper vaccination sticker. Which is understandable, but the manager was very rude, we had planned to come back on Monday with the sticker indicated but my husband just couldnt stand how the manager approached the situation. We will be taking our pup elsewhere on the side note Im happy we didnt as Im seeing the grooming reviews are horrible.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. They hardly have any product stocked. The fish tanks are dirty. Not everyone is certified to sell animals or fish so they expect you to wait 30 mins to an hour for a lunch break before you buy a pet . Literally even just a fish. They try to give you an hour long lesson about fish before they are even willing to sell you one. Honestly it s faster and way more worth my time to drive to pet smart 20 mins away.

I love the Petco in Saratoga Springs, UT. The employees are always helpful and I the location has a pleasant vibe to it. I ve shopped there, used the self-service dog washing, and shopped for DoorDash delivery orders at this location so I do visit it frequently.
I kinda wish they would have built a petsmart in Saratoga and not a petco. I went to petco today thinking they would have the big full size carts so I could put my car seat in it and still have a little room. Well they had tiny carts and I barely fit my car seat in it. Didn t have room for other stuff. So I get what I need and as I m checking out the cashier says I m sorry but we can t give you a bag because you only have two things. One of my things was worms for my reptile and since my babies car seat took up the entire cart, I wasn t going to put worms by her. I needed the bag. I suppose according to petco, mothers with small babies shouldn t be pet owners lol I guess I ll make the trip to American fork the next time I need pet stuff cuz there s a petsmart there.
They are all dead! They had 5 live ones in the container and discounted me to $6.00. But don t worry their system can t let them discount them to super cheap even though they don t take care of their feeders, they re dead and they still want you to pay for it. They are normally $7-$8 For all live. Order them off Amazon! Not worth the frustration 2/5/24 Went tonight for some fish and after the 20 questions about my tank, I ended up walking out. Nothing has changed. I love the convenience, but I d rather drive into American Fork!
We had tons on contact with Kate at the Saratoga Springs store, she was pretty much rude with every single interaction. Especially to my kids that just wanted to look at the animals. I was talking to another customer about when we had had hamsters 30 years ago and Kate patronizingly told me that hamsters should never be together which is interesting since they are typically kept together in the stores. I could completely understand if we had done something wrong or had been rude, I just haven t been spoken to the way she spoke to me by a customer service representative I think ever. I should add that I have shopped her before and have had really good experiences. I will be looking for fish elsewhere this time.

Wow! Went to get a snake today and when I asked the lady if we could get one she said only if you have over 400 dollars to spend! She went on to explain a laundry list of things I needed to buy along with the largest tank they offer!! I left with a son in tears. Good news we drove to a near by reptile store and walked out of there with a snake and everything we needed which was only half of what she said for half the price! Then I got home and was telling a neighbor and she said same thing happened to them when they wanted a small gold fish. The lady told them they needed a 10 gallon tank for 1 gold fish! They went to a different pet store and bought it. Only come here to purchase if you have done research to explain she is wrong and you know what you are doing then you might walk out with a pet!
Wow! Just wow! For a brand new store, there is no selection, their puppy ice cream was gone for three months and wasn t restocked until winter. There s another brand, quite a ways away, but if you have a vehicle or can walk it s worth the trip. Ice cream, Pup Cup, as well as any and every brand of food, treats, pet maintenance, as well as clothing and toys. You ll be there for at least an hour!
If I could leave no stars I would. They refused to sell us a 30 cent goldfish because we might kill it by reading the other reviews on this store I can see we are not the only people this has happened to. I understand wanting to inform people of the environment they need to be in. We are not first time fish owners. While we were searching for fish for our children the guy in front of us bought 10 of them for feed with no problem. We left there with a $30 beta swimming in its own feces and not doing well. So at least we had the opportunity rescue this one, it s a bummer the others will probably die there on the shelf because the representatives in your store refuse to sell them. What a backwards business model. Edited to add: Amber the store manager was no help what so ever. They truly value their 30 cent goldfish crammed in a tank over their paying customers. The bratty little teenager (not Amber) made it a point to mention she is an aquatic specialist but it was very clear to me she values outsmarting people rather than helping them.
Sheldon in grooming is awesome! He always treats my dogs with care and respect, as if they are his own. I have five dogs that are fully against nail trimming, and he is like a dog whisperer. I definitely recommend taking your dogs here for your grooming needs.
Front desk lady told us we couldn t buy a 29 cent goldfish unless we bought a $70 tank from them she then cornered us and explained to us how to take care of every fish in the store and how much it would cost. Meanwhile my toddler is losing his mind.
The staff at this location isnt very helpful and seems to not wanna help customers. I waited for 20 minutes to get some help to make a simple purchase on a little group of guppies for my fish-tank. I also felt like I was Interrogated by the employee when it came to how many fish I had in my tank and the condition of it. I take care of my fish and am not looking to abuse them...not sure why it felt like a high stakes situation. Not impressed with this location. PetSmart is my next stop.
Its your run of the mill pet store. If you can, youre better off to spend more and shop local, but here is great in a pinch.
I went to buy a fish for my kid and was straight up interrogated by the women working aquatics. She drilled me about my tank, supplies, and knowledge. She refused sales of fish until I showed her proof of my aquarium. She was not kind towards me or my kid. It was one of the strangest experiences in a store Ive ever had. I never thought Id be in a hostile situation over a $2 fish.
What a bummer this store is so terrible. I tried to buy some fresh pet food this week. Got home only to find it was extremely expired. Returned to try and do an even exchange. After a very long time the best the cashier could do was charge me .64 more for the same product because the sale ended a day ago when I bought it. So many things wrong with this customer service experience. For one this should have been an easy exchange with zero money needed to change hands as y all were the ones who messed up. Beyond that it shouldn t have taken 20 minutes to get the problem sorted. And to top allllll of this off this store reeks!!! An illegal and unsafe level of VOCs left in this business or seeping through the walls. It was hard to even be in the store. Gross.
Ive tried this location over and over and it never works out. They dont have a lot of stock for fish supplies. I have tried to come back and even asked when they restock. I was told Wednesday but when I went today they said they dont have anything. If you look online it says in stock. Just really frustrating. Not to mention everytime you go they have so many dead fish and bettas in tiny cups. Dead fish are not healthy for the other fish in the tank but no one seems to care. There are many small business fish stores around here that actually care about the lives of the fish and they arent hard to deal with like petco is. Support your small business.

I do not recommend this store for pet grooming. Their services are less than desirable. They book appointments and are not able to meet deadlines. I thought I d give them a second chance after my first horrible experience because they are much closer to where I live. They called me 5 minutes before my appointment and canceled. Not very professional at all. I ll stick to Petsmart even though they are further away.

Absolutely butchered my dogs hair. Service took 8 hours to complete. Asked to fix it, and when we came back it was exactly the same. She looks scraggly, not freshly groomed. She smells like she wasnt bathed. Her tail is untouched, her ears are untouched. Looks like a 6 year old shaved the rest of her. When I pick up my dog after 8 hours she better be adorable, fluffy and clean. I WILL NEVER BRING MY DOG BACK. Updated to note: I had to take my dog to another groomer to fix this bloody mess. She told me straight up that my dog was pre-shaved and nothing else happened. No bath, no brush, no nails, NOTHING. They kept my dog for 8 hours this day. What exactly were they doing with her? These guys are frauds.
If I could give less than one star, I would. Had a 9am appointment for grooming, didn t get a call until 1:30 to pick up my dog, which meant he was in a cage for a very long time. My husband said he was barking like crazy when he got there, which he doesn t do. I asked for a very specific cut and apparently they did not understand the assignment because it s definitely not what we got. They butchered him. Cut ALL the fur off his tail. Asked for them to leave the fur on his head and back long, it had no mats in it, nope, they cut it all off too. They did the opposite of everything I asked. Will never take my dog back there. If I had been there to pick him up, I would not have left a tip. My husband said they acted like they knew it was bad too. There were weird long bits of hair left outside the short hair that I had to trim off. It was just BAD! I immediately booked out with somewhere else so I never have to go back. He even feels shameful. Lol but seriously, look at his tail!!!
Why is there no option for zero stars? I have taken my dog to petco groomers for years 10 plus and This is the worst location to take your dog. We just moved to Saratoga Springs and dropped our dog off for a hair cut at 1:45pm at the Saratoga Petco groomer. They said it would be 3-4 hours we didn t get a call til little after 6pm. When we picked up our little guy I was immediately and visibly dissatisfied with the cut. He looked like he had been thrown in a wood chipper. Seriously my 1.5 year old could have given him a better cut!! His hair wasn t even at all and there were long hairs straggling all over his body. The girl who helped me was not apologetic at all saying the girl who cut him was behind and that is why he looks so bad. I wanted a name which she told me Heather but my receipt said Mykenna B. She made some excuse saying her register didn t work and told me to go up front to pay. This is not a cut anyone should have to pay for. I am so disgusted that they would even charge me for it. I will never be back.
Terrible terrible grooming experience. First of all, when I booked the appt for a full bath and cut for our dog it said it would be $55. When we got to check out it was almost $75 due to extra material and fee costs even though we did not add any extras. Second of all, the result was terrible. They didn t trim our dog at all even though we were very clear when we dropped him off exactly how we wanted his fur cut. They also clearly did not trim his nails at all. He looked exactly the same as he did when we dropped him off three hours previous. He was clean so I ll give them that. But 100% not worth even $15 let alone $75. Total false advertising.
Charged us for a furmanator and clearly it was not done. They spent less than 30 minutes to brush our dogs teeth, clip her nails, bath and brush her out? I dont think so. Not going back!

My daughter picked him up and brought him home. If I had been there I wouldve refused to pay. It was expensive, took over 5 hours, and the result is actually, literally awful!!

The service was rushed for my dog & honestly at that point I didn t care because of how mean they were to him. They tried to overcharge me as well. Do not recommend at all!
Would be great if they had the same dog food selection as other stores. Doesnt do us any good because we still have to go to Draper to get Orijen fit and trim dog food.
We came into this store 15 minutes before the store closed to buy gold fish and they refused to sell them to us. The manager just stared my wife down and was very rude. Sell a kid some gold fish! The worst customer service ever.

Believe the negative reviews about the grooming salon. My first visit was good, but my second was so horrible Ill never go back. What I asked for was not what I got, even when they fixed their mistakes. They kept it worse, just shorter. Topped with the attitudes of the girls that worked there, Im not going back. My dog deserves better.

Terrible grooming experience, my dog was left bleeding around his ears and neck. He has never had issues any other place. The groomer could be seen hacking at another dog with the shears while calling them a bad dog. I won t ever use them again!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. One of the WORST groomers I have ever experienced. They completely disregarded the cuts I asked for on my dogs. When I picked them up, one of my dogs was completely botched and the lady said she wouldn t fix it. Her attitude was extremely apathetic and like she could care less. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Don t waste your money or time here.
Don t bother booking a grooming visit. I used to love having my dogs groomed here, but they do not keep appointments anymore. My dog was scheduled for Monday the 29th. I waited 2 months for this appointment. Two days before the appointment I received a call saying I needed to reschedule for the following Monday (the 5th), which was fine. I get sometimes schedules have to change. The night before my appointment (Sunday the 4th), I get a text that we need to reschedule for the next Monday (the 12th), which doesn t work for me. I ask if I can be scheduled with a different groomer or on Tuesday or Wednesday. I was told to come to my normal appointment and they would work something out. I drop off my dog on Monday as planned and get a call less than an hour later that I need to pick him up because he s too stressed to be groomed (my dog has been groomed here and several other places with no issues). I go to pick him up and the groomer is gone and he s still wet. Apparently they didn t even try to groom him, the stylist had another appointment to get to and just left him there. So the other stylist sets us up for a make-up appointment on Tuesday (today) at the same time. I show up for this appointment and nobody is there. It s literally not open today. The store employee says it s never open Tuesday and he has no idea why I have a text confirmation of this appointment. I don t know what is going on at the grooming department here, but I have lost all trust in them.

When you can find an employee, they are helpful and friendly! I ordered an online order. I needed help taking it out to my car, and they were more than happy to help me, and did not complain at all. Helpful staff with a friendly demeanor.
Today was the third time I used them and will never go back. I dropped off my dog at 9am and wasn t able to pick her up till 4pm! Very disappointing. Not sure why it would take 7hours for a cut and she was the second dog checked in. So sad hearing her barking once we entered Petco! And what s even more heart wrenching is she s pregnant and no food that long. Never again
Dropped my dog off for grooming at 9am at opening with a 9am appointment. With no update after 3 1/2 hours I went down to check on my dog and she had not even been started on. 1 groomer complained that the other groomer had been in and out. The store manager said I don t know about grooming, I m over the rest of the store and then ignored me. I would give zero stars if possible.
I didnt know they closed at 8:00. I went in to replace a fish that had died. It took quite a while for someone to come over and help us and when they did they said they were closing in 10 minutes and they were unable to help us with the fish we had chosen. I was very disappointed.
They dont have good service. I took my dog and asked for a cut and they just scraped everything off and damaged his coat...a real disaster. I dont recommend grooming.

The worst experience ever! They charged us $146 and it was horrible. The haircut of my golden doodle was scandalous. She did not brush his hair in his face at all. This was a waste of money and very unprofessional. Please guys do not hire people that can t do the job!
I should have read the reviews before taking our dogs to be groomed here! All 3 look like they were clipped by an elementary school kid. All shaved to high on their heads, their bodies have random clumps of hair longer than others, their legs and feet look ridiculous, their toenails arent trimmed, theres a knot in ones ear, two dont look like their ears were brushed, faces were not washed, the beard on one is dirty, etc... I put a few pics but there is so much more to show. I cant believe people are hired to groom that obviously dont know how to do it! I want my money back!
Showed up for a Sunday 9:00am grooming appointment (scheduled over the phone with the groomer the day prior) only to find the doors locked. After 15 minutes of calling the store, an employee answered and unlocked the doors. By this point there was another customer and dog there also for a grooming appointment. The employee acted surprised and said I thought our groomer was in the hospital . We wandered around the store for awhile and then checked in with the employee who told us the groomer would be there at 10:30am but she could probably give us like 20% off. No apology, no customer service.

I experienced the most bizarre interrogation of my life. I was refused gold fish 3 times because the store manager needed proof of what kind of tank I had, and when I told them they said it wasn t good enough. Amber and Landen have the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. Perhaps they don t want and refuse business. Who knew that PETCO would create such a horrible experience for me and my family over a $2 fish. It was easier for me to get a fish at the local carnival.
There are 2 workers there the same ones every time Logan the manager is great no issues the lady working is very judgement and giving dirty looks because she was almost done helping another costumer came in for an issue with my bearded dragon and she continued to give dirty looks
my dog was attacked by another dog and when i asked for assistance it was unfulfilled. besides that, petco offers great prices on food , grooming .. meat.. as well as much more. my dog (bill cliton) LOVES the dog friendly environment almost as much as car rides. there were multiple oiled up spinx cats

I ve been here twice, the staff is SO MEAN!! Especially the lady who was in charge of the fish the first time me and my friend went she was being mean to us about just looking at the fish!! She was saying that we are so irresponsible for looking at the fish just because we probably don t have a big enough tank.. again.. we were not even trying to buy one. I had plans of buying something but we walked out because of this. No one should be treated like that even if they were to buy a fish. The second time I went with my dear grandma, and while she was checking out the guy seemed so annoyed at her. She was simply just buying a toy for her cat! ONE thing!!! She said she wanted to join the rewards program and he actually signed in annoyance. That was awful behavior on both of the employees parts. I was so excited for this store and planned on shopping there every week for my pets. But the employees have made me hate this store. I do not recommend this place to anyone. American fork petsmart is worth the extra I have to drive.

Do NOT get your dog groomed here. We had an appointment booked over a month in advance for our two dogs for 9:15 A.M for the first appointment of the day. When we arrived to drop off our dogs we were met by a visibly flustered woman and we had a suspicion that they were intoxicated to some level, but couldn t tell for sure. We gave her the details for how we wanted our dogs cut, and when we were getting ready to leave she informed us that she was the only groomer working today so it may take a little longer than normal and could be like 4 or 5 hours. No biggie. Well, we dropped off our dogs at 9:15 and around 1:00 P.M. after having our dogs gone for 4 hours, we get a phone call from the groomer (who can barely string together a sentence) letting us know that due to the number of walk-in appointments, that it would now take twice as long from what we were quoted and that it would take another 4 or so hours to get the dogs done and that if we couldn t wait the extra time, that our dogs couldn t be groomed today. We asked So our dogs have been there for 4 hours and you haven t even started grooming them? To which they told us that they had been bathed and nothing else. Then they had the audacity to offer to rush the grooming for an extra charge of $15. We expressed our frustration that they were actively taking on more walk-in appointments and that our appointment which had been reserved for over a month wasn t being prioritized or respected. We told them that we would certainly not be paying them any extra money just so that they would do their job that we were already paying for. She then said something along the lines of Oh! I think I called the wrong number. I meant to call someone else about their dog. 10 minutes later we receive the following text from the groomer: hi i was wrong i was suppossed to call but just to tell you theyh are bathed and dryed i take 40 min to do final touch ups so im so sorry but i can NOT finish them by 2 i am the only person here and i do 4 peoples jobs im terribly sorrybut if uy needvthem by two there will be no charges because i will not be completeing them at all id simply ask you tp please come pick them up and i can offer you 20% off ur next visit or this one..... if u choose to stay i love the animals and dont like their experience to be rushed or scary since your dogs are little its really like 30 min on the finish work most of it is ahaving themplease feel free to text this line back asap so i know how u would like me to proceed i cant answer the phone right now so please klet me know what to do soon At this point I had my suspicion was more or less confirmed that the groomer was under the influence of some substance. We opted to not let this lady touch our dogs any longer and went to pick up our dogs. We got to the grooming section of the store and she was completely oblivious to the fact that we were there to pick up our dogs due to the fact that she was grooming A DIFFERENT DOG. We went and got some help from one of the managers who went back to get our dogs who were still wet because they hadn t been fully dried after the bath that apparently took this lady 4 hours to do. Pro Tip: Maybe don t take on extra walk-in appointments if you can t handle the reserved appointments that you already have. Petco has turned us away before for not having any openings for grooming, so I don t know why that isn t standard practice for this location. This was a huge waste of our time as grooming appointments at any petcos in a 50 mile radius are booked months out. After 4 hours, all we got was a subpar bath and 2 wet dogs. Needless to say we re never getting our dogs groomed here again. I was shocked to see that our experience was not unique at all and that multiple others have gone throughout exactly the same thing. Seems like Petco doesn t care at all though. Petco. Fire this woman. Please.

Been a few times, it takes forever to get somone to help you. For some reason they arbitrarily close the self service dog wash at 5 pm (3 hours before the store closes) mind you this isnt posted anywhere in the store and nowhere online. I asked the worker why they needed to close early, and she said it was because they needed to clean it.
They cancelled my dogs grooming appointment half an hour before the appointment and said they would contact me to reschedule. They never did and then when I went to their site to try and reschedule, it wont let me. No explanation as to why they cancelled either. Then when I try to call and schedule, Im put on hold and then they dont pick up. For a service that has to be booked usually weeks in advance, this is not okay. Now I have to find another place to get the cut with very short notice.
This location never has very much for reptiles. Youre better off ordering supplies online.
We have had a hard time getting through to grooming left, 5 messages with no return. We took our dog into their appointment that had been booked for weeks, and the groomer was a no show. We had our other dog receive a great haircut but the reliability is a huge problem

Saratoga Springs Petco for dog grooming was a nightmare. Waited 3 weeks for an appointment online, then got a call 30 mins before my appointment asking to come at a later time but we were on our way already. They said it was okay they would still take care of our dog. Then 6 hours later at closing, she wasn t even washed but they claimed she was. Still had dirt on her. They offered to let us bring her back for free next day to do grooming. Dropped her off the next day and came at closing because we didn t receive a call to pick her up. They asked us to come back an hour later to stay to finish her. When we came an hour later, groomer was in the parking lot smoking and asked us to wait another 30 minutes. When she finally was ready, no nail trim. Only one groomer at that location and very unprofessional. Loved the Draper location but Saratoga needs to address their issues.
The fish section has gotten better for now. Not as many sick looking fish which is about all the had in months prior. They could definitely use a few more employees but the one that helped out was very nice.
Not a ton of stuff in the store it is really small, and the prices are quite high. It would have to be a pretty big emergency for me to want to get something here.
Great selection of items for dogs and cats. Lots of great dog foods and you can bring your dog into the store which is very helpful as you shop and buy dog bones. They even have other pet supplies.
We love this location. The store is clean and tidy, and the staff is perfectly awkward pet-people that are wonderful to work with.
Small store, but had everything I needed.
We always shop her for our animal babes... A little disappointed and frustrated tonight. We got our bearded dragon some Dubai Beetles and Mealworms. When we got home we decided to just give him some beetles. When I went to look at the Mealworms, they looked black, I opened up the container and the top of the container was nothing but black and Hollow worms. A couple that were still alive, but dont want to feed our dragon as we dont know if they are sick or what. I want to just believe it was a fluke thing as this has never been an issue and we have never had to check them beforehand, just trusted Petco to do that in the first place for their customers. I will be bringing in the one that we just purchased (11/5/2023) tomorrow and asking for a new one. However, I will be double checking from here on out. I just expected that to be something that is done daily by their associates before having this type of problem in the first place.
Went to get fish tonight but because it was close to 8 neither employee was interested in helping us even though one of them was already helping customers get fish. Both told us that they were/are closing. Neither asked if we needed help. I wont be back. Prefer PetSmart anyway.

After walking past the employees vaping next to the front door, you notice the posted store schedule is completely ridiculous. Opened this day but not that day, closed early on this day but not that day. I guess we were lucky to show up on a day and time they were open. Aside from being out of numerous items, their online price is not the same as their in store price for various supplies. Petco is a pet-no.
Took the dogs to get washed at 5:20pm and was told that the self-service dog wash was closed. I pulled up the website and found it doesn t close until 8pm. When I asked they told me they close it early because as a store they decided they needed it closed by 5pm every night due to cleaning. I think if your going to advertise a self-service dog wash until 8pm it should be open as advertised
Went to go get fish lady there who claims to be a manager and said that she was big into fish and knows everything about it and refused to sell me a fish and said threat the fish get to 5 inches need 55 gallons and wouldn t sell it to me because I had a 5 gallon tank and said that they would not grow and organs would get to big and would die. She was very cocky and said we wouldn t get it and wouldn t let anyone else in the store to us and has a personality like a wall
Called to see if they had a bag of $100 dogfood that I but twice a week they had one bag they set it aside and told me they would match the online went to pick it up the main manager guy told me it didn t not qualify I spent $124 how does that not qualify. For spending $800 a month in just dog food you would think have better customer service.
I went into Petco to purchase a Plecostomus. There was one employee working and a store full of customers. This young lady did her very best and was so kind but was clearly stressed. She was being pulled from one area of the store to another constantly and had to try to man the register at the same time. On top of this the store was very dirty with trash and scraps of who knows what on the floors and several tanks full of dead fish. Whoever runs this store is in desperate need of an education on how to run a successful business. This was absolutely horrendous!
id give 5 stars but the price tags of this place seem to be 2-3$ cheaper than the price when they ring it up at the registers. I had a exaggerated experience of that today. a nail clipper and a brush that was 9$ & 12$ is about 22 with tax. and the total rang up to 44$ i just paid and looked at the receipt so the worker wouldnt have to deal with assisting me anymore but i had noticed i was charged 15$ each for both of them!, and plus my donation to their cause they offer rang up to nearly 45$. Again id give 5 stars, its a clean store and friendly people, but you are literally scamming customers, i couldve paid like 15$-20$ max by going anywhere else if i had known.

I m constantly finding myself driving to American fork to go to petsmart and surprise surprise they have everything I need almost everytime. Done shopping here. Have wasted way too much time walking in to walk out with nothing. Update 2 months later: Came back here on a whim in a hurry cause my dog is in heat and needed pads for her diaper. This place is a joke. I tried to buy fish here and got lectured and had to leave twice with barely any fish. They drill you about your tank and the environment and I wouldnt be shocked if they asked if it was a mentally stable environment for the fish. If you plan on coming here to get fish, plan on lying about everything that you know so you can actually get a fish. Ive never felt so belittled by a 16 year old know it all with pink hair. This place sucks. Just go to animal ark in AF. Its a freaking 2 dollar fish and a 10 gallon tank is unreasonable.

Based on my experiences, this is not a great pet store. Like at all! Many of the negative reviews are accurate. I have been in this store multiple times and found it filthy with animal hair strewn about the isles near the grooming, and rarely an employee in the store to help. Also the grooming salon seems to be closed like MOST of the time with the store canceling regularly. The store seems very very mismanaged! As a reminder there is a pet smart in American fork and Riverton that have been great to us!

I love this store. They have the same employees for such a long time it s great. I love Amber and when she helps us. She s so knowledgeable and happy to talk to you about pet care. The older gentleman is super nice and helpful too. I can t remember his name though. They normally have what we want but sometimes they are sold out of the hermit crab water we need so I have to buy off Amazon.
They have some of the most helpful courteous kind and knowledgeable associates that I have ever dealt with with regards to retail. They are always attentive and listen to my needs and give very good advice.
Came in with my kids to buy a goldfish. The worker basically told me I was stupid and couldn t take a fish home unless we had a tank already set up with filters and good bacteria. and wouldnt help us any further.

I went in there on the 4th to use their self wash for my Yellow lab. It was Awseome!! For $16 bucks I was able to wash/rinse and blow dry him in a tub and I stayed Dry the whole time ha ha. I would definitely recommend going there

We tried to go buy 2 goldfish today. We have 2 tanks at home and were buying an additional tank the girl refused to sell us anymore goldfish unless we bought their 10 gallon tank. She refused to sell it. She said knowing we dont have the 10 gallon tank she refused to sell us anymore gold fish. Petsmart here we come! What a joke! Too bad because the new petco is so close to our home, but wont be giving them any buisness!
We walked in with our 70 lb puppy who will be two in September! And everyone of the staff literally doted over him as we passed every single employee they all were so so great to him! They offered advice on his food knowing what type of dog he was without us saying anything! Even knowing what type of toy was good for our dog! Also we had our three young children with us, theyre seven and under, and they answered every question all the children had in every aisle that we found a staff member in ;-) LOL I just love how they really adore the pets that they have available and the knowledge that they hold about each pet there is impeccable! I even tested a few staff members about other pets, asking them questions about geckos and lizards and turtles little fishes that are there I asked two different people to tell me what kind of fish were in there and each one of them went down the entire line of fish tanks and told me each one! These people have been trained and take their job very seriously! Thank you so much petco!
I got denied buying a gold fish from this store. I was honestly a little shocked and taken back. We have been gold fish owners for a couple of years now. We have a great tank and food already and my little kids love the heck out of our fish. They told me that they could not sell me fish because my tank is not big enough they did not see my tank. (They were just going off the size I gestured with my hands when they asked.) I am a responsible adult. My kids were devastated and confused why we were leaving the store with no fish because we have been talking about and planning it for days now. I understand that they are just doing their job and want to make sure their fish are going to a good home and I do appreciate that to a point. But I promise you, those fish would have a better and happier life at my home, loved by my kids, than they will in the jam packed tank in the store.. forever. I hate leaving bad reviews.. But honestly this was super disappointing. We will definitely not be coming back here anytime soon and will buy our fish at a different store.

Would you like for your grooming appointment to be cancelled and have no notice? Because that s what happened to me. I showed up to get my dog groomed today & there was no one there. So then I go up front, only to be told that no groomers would be showing up today because they were all sick. And hey, I totally get that people are sick sometimes, which isn t a big deal. The issue is that Petco requires 24 hour notice for cancellation, but apparently won t give you any notice if they want to cancel your appointment. I also asked what we could do and was just offered to reschedule. Which do they know how booked up grooming appointments are?!?
Couldnt find a dog bed I was looking for (wanted a duplicate of the one I found in the Orem location). But I was able to find some Superworms for my beardie! They are going by Giant Mealworms now. Also this adorable little feeding bowl that will replace an old bowl. Super awesome awesome staff! Very friendly even for being close to the end of shift and closing ( )
Three Words: convenience, convenience, convenience. Love the location, love the selection, staff are inviting and super helpful. They sometimes seem understaffed, but that doesnt stop them from offering excellent customer service. Ill go back there, even if I have to wait in a long line. Lots of Parking too!

There were two people in the store and they wouldn t talk to us even with us pounding on the door. Be open when you re set to be open. I waited for 30 minutes.
They did a quick nail trim - and Sheldon was professional and great.
Prices are high but service was great.
Found most part I found what I needed. The selection of Nutro dog food was really picked over. But I was able to find something to get me by for a week or so. The treats and dog sweater I was looking for were available, I just wish the sweaters werent so easy to unravel. My pups started that process same day.

Apparently they can t handle grooming pups. Don t go here for grooming. Kennels are not cleaned out after a use. My dog came back covered in another dog s fur. They overcharge. Use anywhere else.

I made an appointment to have my two dogs vaccinated at the clinic. When I showed up I was turned away because my dog barked at staff and they said they will not treat aggressive dogs. It would be nice if they notified you when you made the appointment that they only take super friendly dogs. It was a big fat waste of my time.
We frequent this store on a somewhat regular basis. Every time weve been, the staff are super helpful and friendly. Kylie is especially great! Shes always smiling and extremely personable and knowledgeable. Weve found some good treats for our dog with allergies and a sensitive stomach, and we love the selection of toys.

Bought a pseudochromis (saltwater fish) as an addition to an established, but small tank. Within a few days, the fish developed some sort of skin rash. Despite treatments for different bacteria and fungus, rash got worse and fish died. Already a bummer that I was sold a sick fish, but it doesn t end there. We now know that the fish had uronema a fatal parasite. This parasite has now spread to the other fish, corals, invertebrates etc. only sure way to eliminate the parasite is to bleach the tank. That s essentially the nuclear option. Looking at $500-$700 in costs to replace everything that was in the tank. Will never buy fish or fish products from Petco again.
Nice new store. Some things are more expensive the other places. They did have what I needed for my new puppy though. My daughter did get a beta fish with a whole tank setup. Honestly she is so happy it is still alive

Most of the Beta Fish looked sickly and some on the brink of death, and there were at least two or three that were dead. Everything else in the store though looked alright for the most part.
The extension to get ahold of their grooming doesn t work. When you select 1 it says call failed. When I called back to speak with customer service they said, we can t help you. They are their own entity. What ever happened to customer service or just being a good human while on the clock? Grooming may be their own entity but your store owns the phone lines in your store. How about you escalate the phone issue to a manager? Walk back to grooming and let them know their phone isn t working as well. Anything other then sorry can t help you.
This store stays really clean and organized. The employees are very helpful and friendly, and have helped me with my questions and when I was looking for a certain product. The atmosphere is nice and relaxing, and our pets enjoy the store too.
