My 15-year-old daughter tried to make a purchase with an AMEX gift card, the charge went through twice, but the cashier did not think it went through so my daughter left empty-handed. Her card was charged a little over $80. We came in and called several times and kept on getting past up the chain, but nobody would help us, even though they were at least three employees that were there and witnessed it happen. So basically they stole $80 from a 15-year-old. This was hugely disappointing.
A Mixed Bag at JCPenney My recent visit to JCPenney was a mixed experience, offering both positives and negatives. The store has a broad selection of products, ranging from clothing and accessories to home goods, making it a convenient stop for various shopping needs. I appreciated the extensive range of brands available, particularly in the women’s and children’s clothing sections. There were some great deals, especially during sales events, which is a significant draw for budget-conscious shoppers. However, the overall shopping experience was somewhat hampered by the store’s organization. I found certain sections cluttered and not well-maintained, which made it difficult to locate specific items. The fitting rooms were also lacking; they were somewhat cramped and could have benefited from better cleanliness. I noticed some unkempt areas that detracted from the overall impression of the store. Additionally, the checkout process left much to be desired. Although the staff was friendly, the lines were long, and it felt like there weren’t enough cashiers available during busy times. This resulted in longer wait times, which can be frustrating after a long shopping trip. In summary, while JCPenney offers a good variety of products at reasonable prices, improvements in store organization and customer service would greatly enhance the shopping experience. I would rate my visit three stars, as it had its merits but also considerable room for improvement.
Mixed bag. The shopping experience was ok. However, the assistance I received was less than ideal, as the staff member wasn't knowledgeable about the products I was interested in.
Paige in South Jordan helped walk my niece through makeup for the first time. She was so happy with her patience and tips. Best experience I could have hoped for!
Clothed, clothes, and more clothes, for everyone in the family, including your dogs if you have some. They have a whole lot of sale prices, which you can shop for home goods and jewelry as well. Nice helpful staff, clean store.
very disappointed with the photo dept. wanted to have grand parents day photos done with the wizardry way theme, called multiple times left messages, no return call. had to drive to store to make appt. Made appt weeks in advance for the harry potter themed photos, no details provided at the time of scheduling, pricing was "not available". Made multiple calls to find out if we needed to bring anything prior to the appt., no return calls. arrived for appt was advised no robes for adults only kids, also noted pricing was jacked so high not worth having kids done. We made mention that we had left multiple messages with no return call, counter clerk stated they were only open 3 days a week, however we received multiple appt notices to make sure we showed up. We have been photo club members for years and that maybe something we cancel due to the lack of details, customer support and phone support. I have been in customer support for my entire career and this is one of the major faults of today's customer services, not real support or services.
We purchased earrings from Lily in the jewelry section. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We had a bad experience at a different location and she resolved all of our issues by going above and beyond. Thank you Lily!
It's wedding season! We bought my husband a new suit and there were so many choices and sizes we had no problem finding what he (we) wanted. I picked up a new shirt too!

Bathroom stinks
Now that the Sephora is longer in JCPenney, I decided to check out what s new. As I was trying the tester skincare bottles and trying to decide what to get, the woman who was working there suddenly scolded me because she assumed I was opening and using the non-tester bottles. I immediately left because of how uncomfortable I was.
Poor Jc Penny. We walk in, and they say we close in 45 minutes. Are you sure you want to come in? You may not have enough time to shop. It was pretty bad.

Took my best friend and her dog to do an awkward photoshoot and had the best experience. Haley D took care of us and was fantastic. She helped us get the perfect shots and she was great to work with. Def hit this location up for all your awkward photo needs!

This is my Penneys Store in the far southwest end of the Salt Lake Valley. I guess you could call it a medium sized Penneys. The store is always clean and the products are neatly displayed. The staff is usually on the younger side but always friendly and helpful. Being quite a ways out of the center of town its not as busy as the others. So its a pretty pleasant place to shop.
If I could do zero stars I would. This Jc penny is absolutely awful. All the cashier girls are rude and don t have proper training. The customer service was so unprofessional and unpleasant
Kaori was an absolute gem for our photo shoot. So kind and patient with me and my 6 year old. I was touched with how amazing the photos turned out. Highly recommend for the price (I got a Groupon and upgraded to get all the digital prints)

Ordered a pair of shoes online to pick up at store. Sales clerk was very friendly and Speedy in retrieving my order.
Make sure you check their hours. They are not open very early or late. Their selection is pretty good, but not super trendy. The store is clean enough. The dressing rooms are open. I like their clearance racks.
It was horrible. 2 cashiers 1 left and went outside to help someone in the middle of checking a lady out. The other one had to leave and go to the back for a online order. There was at least 7 people in line waiting and other employees wandering around the store ignoring everyone. We were in line at least a half hour, they were both gone quite awhile, and we were the front of the line. If my daughter hadnt really wanted her stuff I would have put mine down and left. Then the cashier acted like she couldnt see very good shed put her face almost on the register and she rang my pants up 10.00 more than they were marked. Said she didnt know what happened. First time Ive been out shopping for awhile and it wasnt a pleasant experience may be a while before I go again. Also may I say I hate buy 1 get 1 half off why cant it just be 25% off. I only wanted 1 that was almost a deal braker to, Ive been kicking myself for even buying anything.

The cashiers treat you terribly especially when it s close to closing. I understand they want yo go but that s not a reason to treat customers so disrespectfully. The portrait studio on the other hand is always awesome; which is the only reason I go here.

Very lonely feeling store. Everytime I go there it just feels like the store is going out of business. JCPenney just isnt quite like it use to be.
Worst experience ever! We purchased a mattress from this store and were told the mattress was in stock and we would be contacted in 10 days to set up a delivery time. 24 hours later we were informed that the mattress was actually on back order and wouldn t be available for two months. Trying to get the order canceled was a nightmare and we still don t have our money back and now have to wait up to 72 hours to see if the refund goes through. Their customer service is a nightmare. They will straight up lie to your face just to get a sale. This company has lost my business for life.
JCPenney has the clothes that fit me best as well decent prices on shoes. Ive been going here for several years, so stay awesome JCPenney!

I felt uncomfortable shopping. Im not sure why, but I felt like I wasnt perceived as a potential customer, more like a potential thief. Its not an unusual experience here in Utah Im sadly learning more and more. Update 5/28 I went again but of course an employee stared me down and looked every single thing in my arms like she was cataloging it. Once I got to register, the cashier was nice. Update 8/4 Jewelry department was kind and helpful. I felt comfortable.
A worker here kept commenting how she would never be a model unless she was a plus size model. I don t agree she wouldn t even be that with her attitude.
Rack said 50% off. Was charged full price and when it was brought up they did nothing. Bait and switch scammers.
I came to try on some shoes of a brand that they have on their online site. (I wanted to see if the brand fit true to size before ordering a couple pair.) After talking to the store manager, I was told that they dont carry many of the brands in their store that they have online and they dont carry brands online that they have in store(for many items, not just shoes). He agreed that it makes it difficult to exchange sizes/items, ultimately making it more time consuming for the customer. For a store manager, I found him to be less than helpful and he did not offer any hope for a solution on the future. Poor customer service.
Im sure its budget costs but, you have to hunt an employee down to get any help. This will definitely be their nail in the coffin.
Pretty decent selection of mens clothes. Staffing was a bit thin, hard to find someone to ask questions. Got a nice mens dress shirt on sale.

There was no that many people in the store on a Monday. I have always liked the quality and the different Varieties of goods Jcpenney carries the only down side is their checkers were slow which was quite annoying. The store is clean and organized and provided sanitizer throughout the store.

Went to purchase jewelry for my wedding. It was an AMAZING experience with Ryan. She was very knowledgeable and kind! She made sure I was happy with all of the pieces of jewelry and even made suggestions on the length of the necklace and moved the pendent to the other sizes so that I knew exactly what I wanted.

Went to jcp salon.
Terrible selection of Drapes and certain rods. The sales lady said...its because everyone is shopping online...well what is the purpose of having this store or this department here us you want me to shop online? I been stuck in the house for a year and shopping online is not my thing I need to see feel touch and admire the product in person, sorry call me old-school..but that was sad.
Dont want them to go out of business. I hope this location stays open.

The lady at checkout who usually works in the jewelry department was kind, helpful, and entertaining!
Their curb side yesterday was awful and when we finally got someone to help 20 minutes later, they were so rude. Just be kind and I probably wont mind waiting a bit! After we got our order and drove away I realized they had brought out the wrong order! I forgot my one rule.... ALWAYS check the bag before driving away! I was so caught off guard with the employee shoving her device in my face that I just forgot to check. So today I have to take time to go back to the store and return someone elses item and hopefully get what I actually ordered.

I wish there was a lower amount of stars because they would surely get it. I went into jcp to do a simple exchange of two t-shirts for two in a different size and color. I was treated like a criminal. Same price but different brand. Against jcp rules. I asked them outright if they could see why they were going out of business. Me and maybe 2 other customers in store. Wont see this woman again.

Went here for mens shoes... even though there is only 1 row of dress shoes compared to the 12+ the womens do only about 30% of inventory was there needless to say didnt find anything, did find 1 shirt i liked in my size, S when there is 10x of every shirt in XL then went to go check out 8 people in line 1 register, noon on a Wednesday. Terrible customer service, website says they have in stock only to arrive there and search for both the item and someone to help for an hour, they just pass the buck I dont work that area, let me find someone who does and then Never see them again.dirty store, cloths just thrown around on top of displays, and out of there actual spots horrible experience.
Went into store to pick up online order. No associate would assist me, so I went to my car to try curbside pickup. Item missing from online order. Called customer service and was told they could not help me, but to go into the store for help. Went into store to seek remedy. Was told I had to stand in this check out line while at the same time talking to the associate at the far cash register, rather than talking face-to-face. All around horrible experience.

This JCPenney has a Sephora store within it which will no doubt makes this a destination for many women. I go to this store when I am shopping for mens casual and dress shirts as they often have good sales and a variety of styles and sizes. They carry Levis, Nike, and Adidas in clothing and shoes and often have great prices on their clearance racks. There is also a jewelry department where you can buy a watch battery as well as have it installed for you.
They have a great selection of jewelry, clothing, house decor, etc. However, their staff can be condescending and rude. I have been here a few times and always had mixed interactions. They have a hard time admitting when they are wrong. If something is clearly stated on their signs and/advertisement and it had to do with adding more than one percent off they will claim a miss print.

35 for a tie
I got a 30% off coupon that I was excited to use after not coming to the store for several months. I showed up after 10 AM on a Saturday at the store was closed. Google hours said it was open and was not. Set of the beds to eat my Chick-fil-A and watch several cars come and go thinking the store is open as well. Too bad l guess I will go to target

Selection was pretty scarce sadly. Other than that its Pennys as its always been.
People were friendly. Not much to buy. Very few petite clothing selection s. Not worth taking the time to shop there.
DO NOT USE THE CURBSIDE! They don t check the system to notice a customer is waiting outside for so long to give you the order. Maybe is just the lazy staff
The only staff we could find at the District location were the cashiers and they could not answer questions about stock because the lines were too long. Also, the check stands at the front of the store really do need a sign to say The line starts here so you know you cant just pick one of the 3 open check stands to wait in line.

There was no one there to help us at all.
Even though they did have great deals and nice attire, the customer service was very poor. We were ignored the entire time in there. The jeweler was short with her answers and did not ask to show us any of the jewelry. When it was time for closing, they did not give a 15 minute warning (lost track of time trying to search for thing on my own). Then when the closing time came, they announced they were closed and shut off all lights without warning. The only nice person in the store was the cashier when we found our way to check out in the dark. Very disappointing and will not return. I can find the same quality and same deals at a store that cares about their customers.

I love JCPenney at the District! It is clean & organized & I can find everything Im looking for, easily. Their prices & quality of clothing, bedding, shoes etc.are great! Their sales prices are fantastic too. I purchased a cute sweater on sale for $9.00!!! I love that Sephora is there too as they have wonderful cosmetics & perfumes whose associates are very helpful & knowledgeable!
I went to J.C. Penneys for shows. I purchased a pair of casual shoes which were on sale. They have a good selection of clothing Ive noticed.

This store is always pretty classy, but my heavens, I can not for the life of me find any pants sized smaller than 34. Ive bought dress shirts, suit jackets, and a swimsuit from here, but if you even consider cardio, your waist size is not there.

They always have amazing deals going on during this time of year. I wish they carried the gift packs for perfume. Its not great on being wheelchair accessible through the store with clothing racks to close together sometimes. The jewelry is affordable something for every price range. The clothes are up to date and customer service is friendly. They do seemed short staffed especially in the jewelry department. Only have one associate and had to wait to be helped. The women in make up where great at knowing their products. Excited to try some of the new products I got. If you are in the area I recommend to stop by

The photographer didnt know how to pose kids
So so...
I went in needing a nice sport coat and all that goes with for a semi formal dinner. I had no clue what to purchase. I was greeted by Colleen and explained my needs. She was fantastic and helped me find exactly what I needed and made the whole experience pleasant from start to finish. They had some great deals as well. Because of the customer service I received JCP will get all my future business.
The Hair Saolon was fantastic the girl that did myhair was Maria and I am going bsck next week for a color with Maria.
The store was clean and well stocked but the employees seemed kind of dead. They didnt greet me and had very little energy.
Found what we needed. Levi pants were buy one get one half off which is disappointing because there was only one pair that fit well. So it really wasnt a sale. We bought some blouses. There were some cute blouses brand A.N.A. But the 2x size were too short. When they make larger tops they should also make them longer. Now they have a thrift section where they sale used clothes. That was different. I wonder where their buyer gets them? The sales clerks are nice.
