I was at this Smiths late afternoon today, and was going to do self checkout, the line was really long, and finally another checker opened a register. Sounds like another persons experience, with a middle aged woman being rude. She was mad because she had to work at the register. I told her if she wasnt happy with her job, and being in customer service, find another job. That really made her angry. She told me to leave! Ill goto Harmons from now on. The chicken fingers Ive been getting at this Smiths always are dried out and old lately also.

I bought cube steak and it was straight up ground beef and fell apart instantly. How awful.

Worst deli ever. Used to have great chicken, now it looks like its a day old if they even have any.

In this store you find everything good, good and fresh, all the things and fresh vegetables and good price

A well kept and well put together store. Its reliable for when we travel into town, and we always know well find what we need. Good sales and prices too that are accessable to out-of-towners like us.

I ordered a pan of ready made ribs 24 hrs before for a party and made the pick up for 1pm. The next day when I went to pick it up at 1pm the gentleman working at the Deli was confused when I said if my order of ribs was ready. He stated that they had no orders for ribs in the back and when I showed him the order confirmation he only said yeah it s on there but we don t have it back here the only thing he could offer was unfortunately we can only give you cold ribs if you want. I will not be ordering or coming to this location again.

I ordered a small clicklist for today at 7-8pm. I got a notification thst it was ready at 630. I arrived for my pickup at 700 on the dot. I waited for 15 minutes after I had notified the store that I was there and which parking stall I was in. When I called it rang to the manager after several minutes. After a bunch of excuses that didnt make sense someone finally came out and brought some groceries. She said I hope thats right, I dont know where our clicklist girl is I had already been charged and she hadnt checked my receipt to items. When I got home I found that I had half of my groceries and half of someone elses. I tried calling the store again but it just rang and rang and rang and no one ever answered. Extremely frustrated.

Usually a pretty well-oiled machine of a place! Way better than WalMart! Also, I m addicted to Häagen Dazs Cookies & Cream ice cream, and Smiths ALWAYS has it in stock! Thanks much!

Do you even know what the probability of two shoppers carts being filled with the exact same items is? Neither do I, but I do know that last night, when nothing seemed more consolative than a bowl of ice cream, Smiths of South Jordan was there for me! Not only was chocolate chip Tillamook found in my basket, but Josephina restaurant-style tortilla chips and a couple of other impulse buys as well. Was I satisfied? Absolutely. Would I return for more? Certainly. Do I wish everything in the store was free? You betcha. Merci Smiths for being there for me last night. I would say that I owe you one, but I paid for what I took, and it was worth every penny.

Food and selection is fine, but this location needs a reno. It feels like going back in time 15 years. And the spacing doesnt make any sense. Some areas are really cramped while others are barren. Makes my local Walmart look nice.

This location usually has fresh inventory and always has a good selection of fresh flowers & foliage as you first walk in. Its always great for picking up a nice surprise for that special lady.

One of the things I like most about Smiths is you can recycle your clean plastic grocery, bubble wrap and other bags there. They also have the can to deposit them right inside the entrance so you dont have to look all over for it. Of course every time I drop my bags off I stop for one of the delicious donuts. My favorite is the glaze with the crumb coating on it. YUM! They also have free fruit for kids, in the fruit section. Maybe I should stop with the donuts Most stores arent overly fancy but clean and many things are a decent value. You can get better deals on some items elsewhere but Smiths is generally a good place to shop for groceries.

The lady at the self checkout was eyeing me like a hawk, I felt like she was prejudice because of my ethnicity.

I wish I had read the reviews here before ordering a cake from this Smiths bakery! We pre-ordered a Frozen 2 cake on-line, but when I called to ask if it was ready to pick-up, they said they did not have the edible background that went with this cake. After saying they would call me the next day if they could get the edible background, I called myself the next day and was disappointed to discover that they had already altered the cake and made it as much like the Disney Frozen as they could. Seemed hastily thrown together and was very much on the pricer side for a cake that was not even the cake we ordered! Will not order from here again.

Smiths has been a staple as much as bread, eggs, and milk. One the best benefits to Smiths is the weekly deals that come out. You can find really good prices on various items, you just have to keep your eye out. The membership card is essential to shopping here and fortunately doesnt cost anything. Every location is run slightly differently. Some have great produce sections and others are lacking. Some are really clean and organized well, while others are not. This location, in particular, isnt bad. Its not the best, but its pretty good. They have a good variety. They arent going to carry the best of the best items, but most items are good quality. If you want the best of the best, Harmons tends to carry more premium brands, but you will definitely pay for it. Smiths is our go-to for groceries. They are consistently good quality at good prices.

This is by far the worst smiths I have ever been to which stinks as it is conveniently close to my house. The shelves are always under stocked, items are frequently expired, and it is always understaffed. I don t understand how other smiths can be so much better than this one

Another super Smith that we visited and heard of course all the shelves are full and perfectly arranged so that when you decide to take a product you can easily locate it

Their employees literally smoke cigarettes right in front of the doors where we all have to walk by including our children. It s disgusting, rude, unhealthy and cancer causing for their customers.

Terrible customer service! The employee in Self Check Out stared directly at my wives cleavage and gave her a disapproving look. They then refused us beer because my wife thats 39 years old didnt have her ID. I walked my wife out to the car, then returned to another register to purchase the beer I desired. Well never go back. We love shopping at Smith s! Their produce is always fresh and they have pretty good deals on the app and in store. The only thing is, their eggs are always broken? It s the weirdest thing but other than that it s great!

There is never anyone outside in the gas station. So dont bother stopping unless you are paying with a credit card!!! If you have issues with your gas credits or pump. Good luck. You are on your own!

This is my usual smiths and I ve never had issues with it until this past month. ***Expired food and food that expires a day or two after you buy it.*** Halloween candy tasted awful. We got a pizza that ended up being a whole month expired Wouldn t plan on shopping here unless you have time to look at every expiration date on each item you plan to buy

I had the most disturbing experience at this location. My wife just got out of the hospital. My wife needed some women product. I asked for help and this middle-age woman, I couldn t catch her name, but she was the rudest woman I ever encountered in my life. She simply said just because im a woman doesn t mean I know where the staffs at so I can t help you. but I will get her name and I ll make sure I ll redo this review.

Great store well stocked

Worst pharmacy in the valley, most of the time they will be away for lunch and will not answer the phones ever. Today they closed the pharmacy at 7:50 PM and left but they are supposed to close at 8:00 PM . Highly disappointing to see the closed door at 7:50 PM.

I would highly advise against buying baby formula at this location. You need to bring a ticket to the front and they grab it from the back. Make sure you are 100% certain that they grabbed the right one for you because they will not exchange it or refund it if they grabbed the wrong one and you didnt realize it wasnt the one you wanted

I left my groceries in my cart after work to load up my child and forgot about them until the next morning. I walked in and was greeted warmly and told my groceries were on a list and waiting for me. Excellent customer service!!! Thanks for holding onto those for me.

I came in to grab flowers, cake and cigarettes. I went to self check out and when I asked for assistance the lady seemed annoyed. Which I blew off due to them being a bit busy. Then I scanned my purchases and she scanned my cigarettes. I said thank you and went to get them and she said no. You pay 1st then you can have them. Excuse me !!!! I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. As if I wasnt going to pay for them. Just the other things I had scanned ???? Im sorry But I wont be back. Ive never been treated that way at any Smiths I use and have for 20 years !!! Simply awful.

If I could give this store zero stars, I would. I went to this Smith s on a Saturday night, and not one checkout stand was open, forcing everyone to do self checkout. There was only one actual employee at the self checkout trying to help several people make their purchases so they could leave the store. UNBELIEVABLE!!! This has to be the most poorly managed Smith s in Utah. This location has never understood or had any regard for customer service. Their attitude seems to be one of come on, I dare you to shop at this Smith s. This store is an absolute disgrace to the chain.

I bought watermelon in container for $5.00. Second time I ve bought. A big waste of my money. Take the bad stuff off your shelves.

FINALLY HAD SELF-CHECKOUTS! its the only complaint Ive ever had shopping here the past few years was the rediculous lines that were there 95% of the time. its gotten better since the new self-checkouts were put in!

Im confined to a wheelchair, so I have someone who picks up my orders for me. During the Covid-19 situation, it has been great to place my order online and be able to choose for myself. So far its been great.

There was a US Bank which is my reason for going there. Disappointed that Smiths didnt have gallon size spring water. But the store was very clean & the employees were welcoming & friendly.

Bad customer service and no one will help you. They close customer service and refuse to help any customer with items only contained behind the customer service counter.

I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. They have a very good selection of produce canned goods dry products and a pretty good smattering of pharmaceuticals. I found the people at the meat counter to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I have to admit I always shot the sales and keep an eye out for discontinued items. Its always a good idea to check the dates especially if theres a little dust on top. A large beverage selection not a bad place to go for sundries.

Absolute worst customer service. The lady working the SELF CHECKOUT stand and was not responding to customers who needed her help to clear errors on the screen. Her actions and response to a customer is very indicative of how things are ran here. She ignored me for a few minutes forcing help on an old man who was very uncomfortable. After waiting, the cashier turned and looked at me at my register, one register away from where she was, and walked away to another customer and asked if they needed help. They did not. I walked out of the store at this point, when walking out the cashier tried to beg me back. This process of waiting for my screen to be cleared took 5+ minutes with no line and open registers while being ignored on purpose. Blatant disrespect to a customer who was waiting patiently and needed actual help. This was most definitely done on purpose for some petty reason. I will never shop here again and will be informing all of my family and friends to avoid Smiths all together. Harmons is a much better Grocer and has better prices and selections. The best thing about Harmons is the employees are amazing and happy.

Great products and great customer service and clean store

Do not order ahead at the bakery, at least at this location! Third birthday in a row they I placed an order online for a cake and they didnt make the cakes (shame on me for giving them a 2nd and 3rd chance). First 2 times they never received the order through their system even though I had the confirmation emails. Today they called a few hours before I was scheduled to pick up my cake and said they were out of the kit I ordered. I spoke with someone and she was going to make up something else, which I was disappointed with but agreed to. 30 minutes prior to pick up they called again and said their spray gun was broken so couldnt do what they said earlier. Tried to give me a plain cake hastily decorated with a $5 discount. Never again!

On August 3, 2021, I went into the Smiths Store in So. Jordan to order a birthday cake. The man in the bakery could not find a pen or pencil to take an order. I waited at least 10 minutes and finally went to customer service for help. She wanted me to go back to the bakery. I said NO. She then wrote the order and said she would give it to them. I agreed. On August 5, 2021, I went to the store to pick up the birthday cake. It had not been prepared. I waited another 10 - 15 minutes for them to frost and decorate it. She brought out the cake and when I arrived home the birthday cake had the wrong spelling of her name; it was not buttercream frosting and she had put plastic flowers on it. It was the worst cake I have ever purchased. I called the store to tell them after returning from the party. The Assistant Manager, John, asked me why I didnt look at it??? I said she handed it to me in a box! I was late for the party because the cake had not been decorated! He said well, what do you want me to do about it? The Management, Customer service and Bakery do not care for our business and . . . Now . . .Well, I dont want a refund as I will never ever shop at Smiths again!!!

i have lived in south jordan for 25 years this store has changed so much in the past year and all the good people are gone I have moved to the Harmons accross the street the management at smiths has gone way downhill

Zack in checkout was too busy talking to Abby to even acknowledge me when I was checking out. Not a hello or anything. This is my second visit here and both times its very apparent management should be working on customer service skills... so rude.

Over the years I have spent so much money giving this store my business. Im not sure if there is new management or what has happened, but I feel like it has become an extremely ghetto experience. Im done supporting a company that doesnt appreciate the people who keep them in business. Thankfully Harmons is conveniently located right by it, I will be supporting them from now on.

It would be better if they didnt sell drugs in the store i was very nervous of smelling some coke that would make me drunk. But the flour they sell their is exquisite never had anything like it before.

This store is 2 blocks from my house. The worst service and cleanliness I have ever seen. Needed 3 items tonight and when I got to the registers there was 2 open with about a dozen people in both lines. Harmons is across the street.. I will be going there.

They dont have self checkout but when the cashier noticed I only had three items they sent me to the customer service desk to skip the line and get out quickly and it was very cash money of them

Rating this store 1 star, only because 0 stars is not an option. There is a limit on disinfectants right now due to the high demand. I was within store limits & abiding by the store policy, which is posted on the shelf. My cashier was so rude to me, despite me abiding by the stores policy & limits. Not to mention the long lines, & no self checkout in this store. I only came to this store for disinfectants & this store is not nearby for me, I will not return here after the way I was treated today.

The people who work here are really nice, but this smiths doesn t have self checkout and the lines are always really long. Shopping here always takes much longer than almost other grocery stores.

Poor customer service. Today I bought groceries, and they would no longer give paper receipts. To get an electronic one you have to have their app. I want a paper one so if any pricing questions arrive. I can deal with it then and there- I dont need no more apps! They told me I had to get a mgr to get a paper receipt. Going to stores with paper receipts.

My wife and I tried the online pickup for the first time today. When we got home, we duscovered that a bunch of stuff was missing that we had been charged for. I ended up going back by myself to get it fixed. The customer service was great. Chantelle went around with me and helped me find the missing items. And she was really nice about it. Had I had to look for them myself, I most likely would have messed up and made my wife mad. That REALLY helped a lot. Overall, a pretty good experience.

Ive heard people say that the produce at Smiths is not always the freshest. Today, I discovered one reason why. A lady in the produce department was being rather aggressive with stocking the items. She was throwing bags of potatoes on the display as well as with the pineapples. Every time it made a fairly loud thud. Guaranteed these items will be bruised and possibly go bad. I understand that she was probably in a hurry, but that doesnt justify being careless and damaging products.

Mask nazis at every entrance!!! I have been harassed at south Jordan location and item location . I did not shop either location. Unfortunately I had to go to the bank ay each location. I will NOT shop at Smiths!! Unfortunately this review makes me put a star to post... does not deserve any star!

After spending an hour shopping online for a curbside pickup, I was informed later today by email that my order had been cancelled. When I called the number provided, the guy pulling the orders told me that he was really behind and they were short staffed, and he didnt have time to contact me, so he cancelled the order. WHAT??!! How is that even an option for him to do? I didnt even need the groceries right away and could have waited even a couple days before pickup, but that option wasnt even offered, the order was just cancelled before I was even contacted. This wasnt a small order, I typically place an order every week for our groceries and have been doing this for a couple years. There are plenty of other stores that offer online shopping and curbside pickup and I can easily switch to one of them if it means that I wont be wasting my time when placing an order. Ive done it before when service was disappointing at another place. I guess they are too busy for my business.

Didnt have what I went there for.

Smiths Market is a nice store. The newer Smiths stores will have the amenities youre looking for. The older stores seem a little tired. I do like the savings on gas and the butcher shop. Ive gotten to the point I will not buy prepackaged bacon. I know the bacon Im buying was sliced today unlike the prepackaged bacon that was sliced at best weeks ago.

Mostly like the people and the selection is decent. However, I am sick of bagging my own groceries and waiting in line if I shop in the evening. Not to mention you basically need a flashlight to shop after 10 when they turn the lights down. If I want to bag my groceries I will go to Winco and pay less to do so. As it is I pay the same price for a vastly inferior experience, no deli, no seafood/meat etc as those who are able to shop before 8 pm. And finally, I already have a Smiths card...I have no desire to spend time downloading digital coupons to get a decent price. Get rid of those.

We shop here once in a while. While it s certainly not the newest or nicest Smiths around, it has good selection and fresh produce. It s very convenient since we re close by, and the discount on their gas is great as well. The staff is always friendly and helpful if you need anything.

I m not happy with the service here. Bagels are never ready when the store opens. 45 minutes late today. This won t be our breakfast stop much longer. Bagging our own groceries too? Why can t all Smith s be as good as the one in Ogden, Harrison BLVD.

This review really deserves 0 stars. After ordering a cake online for my sons 12th birthday. I went to pick it up and the cake looks NOTHING like I ordered. With no other option and the party in 1 hour - I had to take the cake. I was offered a $10 discount to make it right... I am so embarrassed by this cake as it was supposed to be special for my sons birthday. If you look closely you can see the flag for the 18th hole is hand made out of a toothpick and a scrap piece of paper. Seriously?! Do not order a cake from here!!! Dairy Queen store. Easy parking, great staff, good selection, and competitive prices

This Smiths has great customer service, a pharmacy, flowers, deli, sushi and a place to sit down and eat it. They have their Friday/Saturday sales out on display so you can easily find them when you walk in. I highly recommend getting their ap and downloading their free Friday coupons they have about every other week. Its usually a protein bar and that is fun to try. And Ive had some really great cashiers. Their restrooms and drinking fountain are right inside and easy to get to. The grocery carts are in an awkward place compared to other smiths and the carts with car seat straps are usually blocked by normal carts but overall a good Smiths to go for a grocery run.

I rarely have a positive experience with the checkout service. The cashiers are grumpy and annoyed. Plus the debit card change makes paying inconvenient.

This Smith s has been good to my family and me for years and years. My complaint, if any, would be that there is no self checkout! I love self checkout and sometimes avoid this location just because they don t have it. My interactions with the cashiers have been good 99% of the time though.

My mother in law is visiting us from out of the Country. She went to this location this morning to return a faulty hand blender I had purchased. During the return the two ladies started laughing and her and mocking her for not knowing which phone number the purchase was made under. Absolutely disgusting service.

I have shopped at this location for years and have always liked it until recently. They seem to carry less and less. The one that bugs me most is Creme bruelle coffee creamer. Luckily I can get the creamer and a Rotisserie chicken at 5:30 P.M. at Harmons across the street.

I like Smiths because their products are the best quality and their prices are affordable

New in town.. Went to a Walmart Super Store for the first time. What a disasterious shopping experience. Not much signage to help me find a collection of different items I needed. Aisles crowded with unrelated merchandise & didnt appear to be as clean & organized as it should be when trying to add hardware & clothing to a food market. After wandering around I did find the bathroom supplies but there wasnt a simple toilet brush in the area. Next I stopped at the South Jordan Smiths store on Redwood Rd. and what a pleasure.. signage in every aisle to locate the items I never did find at Walmart. Beautiful produce & meat Depts. Whole store was Clean as a pin with employees easily available for help in every section. This will be my go to Store. 20 out of 10 stars

Good food, drugs and prices with service.

Good people always have what we need

This is the Smiths I typically shop at weekly. Everyone is friendly and they do a pretty good job of getting more lanes open when the lines back up. I typically end up having to bag my own groceries. I do not mind this though. A few times when they bag them, household items get put in with food. And hard canned items get put in with soft food items. At least when I bag, I know my food wont have cleaner spilled in it or be smooshed. Meat department is always friendly. Produce is hard here. Potatoes, onions, and avacodos typically are bad. Onions more often than not have the first two layers that are brown and not usable. Potaotes tend to have a lot of bad parts in the center and avacodos can seem great then when opened, are not edible. I dont know if this is due to their handling, shelf life being past, or their lighting. Whatever is going on, its been like this for at least 2 years. All other produce I have good luck with. Overall it is a good store to shop. They do tend to run out of sale items pretty fast. If you get the right cashier or manager, they will usually take care of you by offering comprable item at sale price.

Ive decided to redo my original review which wasnt very kind to this location. Lately the checkers have been slightly more friendly but i still end up either bagging my own groceries or they bag them all wrong and i shop here weekly sometimes more. The checkers still rarely say hello or smile they just ask the required Did you find everything ok? And a few dont even do that. Mostly they are just checking as fast as possible because apparently they are timed from the moment they start. I just cant make myself go to harmons or the smiths marketplace down the road... So this is still one of my least favorite locations which sucks because i live right by it. But Ill up the star rating slightly for a few friendly checkers. Back to my original review: Its not a marketplace, its an old, dingy building and I have noticed out of date fresh dog food twice recently. The checker last night bagged my fabric softener with food and I hate that, too. Every time I go there I wonder why I did. Probably because Harmons across the street is so expensive. So the prices and fuel points get the stars but not much else about this location.

Bought some meat from here. Completely rotten. Basically drove it back to them and they said they are just going to refund us. Oh, and that several other people had complained today to... Cool... then they said its not federally regulated like be happy we are giving you your money back. So no sell by date, lazy smug attitude and a complete lack of taking effort to insure THIS IS NOT HAPPENING to someone else. Rotten meat straight off the shelf and not a care in the world. Makes me nervous to want to buy meat here again with that approach.

Very friendly nice helpful cashier, in and out got the bud light and candies for the Woman and away we go Life Is what you make it an attitude changes everything and she helped cheer me up, so very high rating for Smiths tonight.

Don t come on an evening. Found some great blueberries earlier in the day, came back to get some more, and they had only one register open. 20 people were in line. They need get some self checkout or hire some more people. I put the stuff back and didn t buy it, would have been in that line for 30 or 30 minutes. Not worth it for 2 things.

One of our favorite SMITHS. They are well stocked, friendly, and it is AWESOME on Sundays to see everyone in Jerseys showing up before the games! Lots of DALLAS COWBOYS fans, so we are liking that a lot!

This Smiths has to have THE most patient employees on Earth. Very kind and courteous to help when the mega sale is on and you have to have a certain number of qualifying items to get the deal. They will actually count them to make sure you are getting the best price! Also, very clean and well stocked.

Much of it has been recently renovated. The carts are pretty old and dirty, that drives me nuts. Ive bought expired food there more often than at other stores. Employees are friendly.
