It s a smaller store and pretty old. Average kind of grocery store. Age is starting to show. Could use a remodel.

I come to this store nearly 50 times a year. They have a wide selection of items and a great employee crew.

No staffed checkouts open. All self check out. Manager and another staff in office while one staff ran all the self checkouts. Losing my business.

If you told me there was a dead body in the back, I d believe it. That is the only reasonable explanation for why this smiths smells absolutely rank every single time I go here. It s disgusting and management needs to fix it.

I came in today and saw that they had a parent they completely gotten rid of self checkout. I almost walked out of the store right then and there. I doubt I will ever be back.

It s a decent place to shop. I was going to fill my water bottle and decided not to because these drinking fountains are foul.

Everytime Ive go to the deli counter its a game of how long can they pretend not to see me. There are good staff members and a lot of ones that just dont care. Ill pay the extra money and shop at Harmons.

Smiths is always clean, organized and classy. Their food is high quality, reasonably priced and often discounted. I love the fact that you do not have to travel far in the Salt Lake Valley to get to any number of their stores. Their staff is helpful and go out of their way to be accommodating. Thanks for the consistantly excellent experience.

We dont shop a lot at Smiths because they tend to ne more expensive than other places. However, they tend to have good prices on meat and their produce is high- quality. Plus, they have San Pellegrino which we like as a treat. We primarily use the Smiths pharmacy. We used to go to somewhere else until we discovered we could pay $2/month instead of $85/ month for my wifes medication if we used Kroger RX instead of insurance. Since then, Smiths has been our go-to pharmacy.

Good place. Theyve cleaned up the store quite a bit over the past few months. Checkers (Laura and John) are fantastic.

Alyna in self checkout wouldnt help with an item that was supposed to be on clearance instead just took item away. Where has customer service gone???? I expect as much at Walmart. I guess Ill start shopping there.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! (Especially if you are a morning shopper) I would give a 0 if I could. Only both sets of self checkout were available and no employee could bother opening a normal lane for those of us with 50+ items (I was not the only one) What should have been a 5 minute max checkout was at least doubled because I had to keep waiting for the system to be ok with me removing items from the turntable to make room for more (a few times an employee had to scan their badge) There were a couple items not available. One even offered his snarky, sarcastic pleasantries as I was leaving knowing I wasnt happy with the situation. The only positive was the people stocking shelves leaving space for the shoppers. With so many other choices, I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!

We shop at our local Smiths every week and we appreciate all the employees - from the check-out employees, to the produce section to the meat department - and dont forget Michael the sushi chef - just great experiences with them all!!

I use to LOVE this location. It was never packed and the employees were always so kind. Within the last year there has been one employee who works the self checkout that has made shopping here so unpleasant and uncomfortable for me and my family. The first interaction I had with her was when the self checkout would not process my payment, then froze. I approached her asking for help and she came over voided out the transaction then told me to take all of my stuff out of the bags and bring it to her to checkout. It was a weird request since there was other self checkout registers open ans available. I however accommodated the request. She was not friendly, looked like she hated her job and did not apologize for any inconvenience. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought she was having a bad day. Since then every time I shop at this location and she is working the self checkout she will come and stand right at my register, and watch me over my shoulder as if Im not scanning everything. I thought maybe it was just her doing her job, I get that some people do steal and its necessary to maybe keep an eye on things. However she will spend the entire time I am checking out, just watching me. She never moves, never glances in anyone elses direction. Today I turned around ans stared at her because she was so close I could feel her breathing on my neck. She made a comment on the cake I had already scanned and then continued to just stand there staring over my shoulder. The whole time feeling uncomfortable. Other customers were glancing over at us as if I was some type of criminal and she was about to stop me from stealing. Keep in mind Im black. I will now be frequenting a different location because of how uncomfortable and embarrassed this specific employee makes me feel. Its too bad because this location does have some amazing employees that are so friendly and make you feel like you are welcome.

I absolutely love this place. Great produce and good set up. However I asked tonight a cashier to do a split transaction and it be 50$ for the first card. She acknowledged it, but it looked like she didn t do it based on the screen. So I asked her again and she acknowledged she did it. So I went ahead and paid it. She did not do the split transaction and I paid for the full amount. The reason I did split transaction was so I didn t get an over draft fee. I unfortunately got an overdraft fee. She needs to pay attention more. She was a short curly hair gal.

Pretty silly open your stores later, self checkout makes your store hours irrelevant, make us ring ourselfs up . Currently waiting outside5:45 it s 17 degrees outside. My daughter had an emergency you people forgot where you came from

My go to grocery store. Always friendly and the online order and park and pick up is such a great feature.

This store is really going downhill. Today my wife and young kids were shopping here. An assistant manager decided to insult my wife and her parenting, just because the kids were getting a little restless during checkout. Bad management. Bad values. Do yourself a favor and go to the other Smiths thats just a few blocks east. We wont be shopping here again!

I love the sales .food is always fresh veggies ,fruit are at very good prices..love their meat sales and coupons!!

Smiths is always well stocked. Produce can be hit or miss. Baggers always improperly bag groceries. Cold or frozen items should not be is the same bag as non-cold items or produce.

Pharmacy... Not the best service most times. Not really worth the convenience if you cant ever reach them by phone, to check if a prescription is ready. They could use help in the Customer service area. You also wont find them friendly most days. My most recent experience was something almost hilarious. Did you know that if the floral department is not in NO ONE in the store can put helium in a balloon, haha, yes!!! Straight from the managers mouth. I would have to go back when floral department was on schedule. Talk about inconvenience! Even the dollar tree train s more than one employee. Come on!!! This store is a joke.

I love this smiths and usually have never had an issue until today. Went on a typical grocery shopping trip with my fiancé and purchased a hard seltzer. When requested, I showed my ID since I am the one paying. The cashier, Molly, required that my fiancé also show his ID. He was not paying and did not bring his wallet. He ended up running home to grab the ID for her and it just made a quick trip about 45 minutes longer. I had to sit and wait while a line formed behind me and she wouldn t even let me finish scanning and bagging while I waited for him. It was frustrating since my ID matches the name on the card used for payment. Eventually, we showed his ID and were able to leave. I am not sure if this is store policy but it was extremely uncomfortable and inconvenient. What if a parent wanted to buy alcohol for themselves with their teenage child with them? Would you not be able to complete your purchase? Just exhausted and annoyed as an of legal age customer having to jump through unnecessary hoops.

Sometimes go in this store on the way home from work. Have had any problems and pretty good selection.

The lady in the floral/plant department was very kind and helpful. She went out of her way to help me out.

One of the employees Candee, was rude and unprofessional. And the way she was treating the other employees was condescending and unacceptable. Can t believe they allow that type of behavior in the well known company that is Kroger. Something needs to be done.

Your gas attendant is extremely rude and unprofessional. 940pm on 11/7/23. She said she is closing at 940pm to count money while she was on her phone. This is at least the 4th time she has done this. Manager apologized again but obviously they keep her employed for some reason(???) Normally after at least the 3rd occurrence I would let her go.

Very good grocery store. Several of my favorite items are sold here at this place. I recently had a great experience at Smith s. The staff was friendly and helpful, the store was well-organized, and they had a wide variety of fresh produce. I appreciate the cleanliness and overall positive atmosphere, making it a pleasant shopping destination.

I could be shopping for a while here and when I get to the cashiers they never fail to stress me out as well as be rude. It doesnt matter about the rate at which they help me, but if they showed a little bit of care I think the customer service would show. But, if your stressed then your other customers will notice. Talking to your customers and showing some care will keep your customers calm. Sighing and rolling your eyes is just childish.

No problems at this Smiths. Had to pop in a few times while family was in the hospital down the street. Pretty typical Smiths experience with no complaints, but also nothing extraordinary like Ive found at some of their more expensive competition (rhymes with Garmons).

Smiths is nothing more than a more expensive and more dishonest version of Walmart. You see a sale sign on an item, so you grab the item and neglect to read the entire sign cause youre in a hurry. Then you come to find out that the mess of microscopic writing says its an online only sale. Why in the world is it being advertised in store then???? So you get to the register and find out that the item is actually $2 more than advertised. Awesome. And the moronic sales staff act like canceling an item is the hardest thing thats ever been asked of them. I only come to this store when I absolutely have to.

Don t stay 9 minutes past their posted closing time. I had been shopping for 30 minutes finally made my way up to the register and they took my cart away and said we re closed. Thanks Victor. You could ve gone home a lot faster if you just let me buy my groceries instead of taking them and putting them all back. Smart. I know we are at 1.9 percent unemployment so we are literally scraping the bottom of the barrel here but still. Some customer service should be able to be expected right?

It has fresh products, I really like this place.

since July 19 my dr. The principal MD., sent the prescription for a medicine which to date, the unprofessionals of this pharmacy continue to delay the one I need to pick it up. And not satisfied with that my MD. Dialysis sent a medication and they changed it for another, is that they do not know that a patient with kidney problems the change of medication can be fatal?. This pharmacy is definitely unprofessional, I do not recommend it only if you want to commit suicide they know how to help you in the attempt

Editing my old review. This place used to be great, but it has gone downhill faster than a landslide. This place is run down, old, needs a face lift bad. Employees just dont seem to care here anymore. Produce looks horrible and old. Shelves are not stalked. Its worth the drive to day break smiths, or even better go to the new Winco up there. But this place needs some serious help.

I started going to Smiths for their produce, specifically their bananas. Now Im lucky if they even have their bananas stocked and when they do, the quality is horrible. The bananas are covered in brown spots and bruises. Ill start going somewhere else for my produce. They also cant keep their cat food section stocked. The shelves are almost always bare, leaving me with no choice but to go elsewhere. Smiths has gone downhill in their ability to stock their store and keep it stocked with quality products. I will gladly give my money to another grocer.

Back in 1999, I lived nearby and did my first morning shopping in this Smits. I was very satisfied with the speed of the service and the supply. A perfect five and a recommendation.

Beware of the horrible lady running the gas pump, she will only help you in her time. I waited a good 4 mins while she restocked tobacco, I lightly knocked in the glass and she turned and said I saw you! With this horrible tone if voice and angry face. Will never has up there again.

Usually I love Smiths, it is my go to grocery store. I shop a various locations 2-3 times a week. They have great quality items and the staff is great. I came to this location this morning and was treated HORRIBLY! I had a few items to exchange and some to return. The employee at customer service, Jess, treated me awful. She was rude, had a condescending tone and was anything but helpful. I didn t have a the receipt for 2 items and treated me as if I didn t even purchase them from Smiths. Worst experience at Smiths ever! Definitely visit a different location.

I dont frequently go to this Smiths, but Ive stopped by a time or two when Ive been in the area and its always been great. They are well stocked and the staff are always friendly and helpful. It can be a bit tricky to get in and out of the parking lot depending on which way you are coming from, or which way you want to turn out though.

Shelves seem to be emptier than usual so dont know if it is because of shipping or ordering issues. Produce is of less quality so need to look closely at bagged items now.

Picked up my curb side order. Joe was amazing. He scanned my coupons right there in front of me. I didn t even have to ask him. He was so friendly and courteous. And today is his Birthday working on his birthday at a young age shows responsibility. Thank you Joe for being on top of the curb side orders and for being so nice.. They closed the second self check out to make a line. Also only had one checker check out open with a long line. They seem to care more about saving money by not paying employees then helping their customers. As far as the rest of the store, its a pretty typical grocery store.

How can any other Smiths keep their shelves more stocked but this Smiths is hanging on by a thread? This store is lacking some serious care and attention by its Manager. You literally are gambling with the idea they might have something in stock when you go. Anything on a sale will have gone moldy within 24 hours after purchase. Its pitiful.

This one is trying to be like Harmons or Whole Foods. Only problem is you are not getting better stuff for the higher price tags. Plus the selection is extremely limited. So: lackluster selection at an unreasonably higher price, especially when theres alternatives just down the road.

Fast clean

I never do reviews, so this goes to show how upset I am! While there just not even an hour ago, they had 1 lane open (on a weekend..). I ve been waiting patiently for nearly 15 minutes, which is fine - I understood. Until another customer, who hasn t been waiting for even a millisecond gets a lane opened up for him and is checking out before I even have my stuff on the belt! I left my care there and went across the street to Walmart. I called customer service and spoke to the manager who said in a very degrading way that sometimes the customers can get feisty. After explaining this was in no way the customers fault, she still refused to apologize and didn t offer any sort of compensation for being disgusting to me and wasting my time. Will never be shopping here again because of the lack of responsibility from the manager. Sad and pathetic.

I have to do my grocery shopping online! I ve always used the store nearest to me but they aren t the cleanest, the shelves aren t kept neat and they re always out of the things I need!! This location is SO much better!! It s always super clean, the shelves are always neat and they always have all of the products I need, even through the pandemic shortage!!

I was in smiths a few weeks ago without a mask as I have a medical condition that is exacerbated by wearing one. The Kroger policy requests that I use curbside pickup which isn t always an option for me to pickup prescriptions and food for my family. I was approached by a lady identifying herself as the store manager and she insisted I wore a mask. I told her that the policy only requests that I use other options for shopping. She stated again that she was the store Manager and was assure of the policy. Fast forward to tonight. I was in the store again and witnessed her as she looked to be grabbing a few groceries before heading home as she had her purse in hand. I noticed that she didn t follow social distancing and went the wrong way down the isle as labeled by the signs on the floor. It appears that she is not interested in keeping shoppers safe from covid after all.

This Smith Has the rudest Pharmacy staff I have ever encountered. I have put up with it for over a year, and nothing has changed Im pulling my prescriptions and going somewhere else. they are so rude. and make you feel like it is a privilege to get your meds from them.

Employees enjoy multiple smoke breaks while customers enjoy long lines at the registers, little if any product on the shelf and out of code yogurt.

Smokers paradise. If the employees cared about the store as they care about their smoke breaks this would be an awesome store. Alas the employees,with the exception of 1 in produce, 1 in floral and 1 at the customer service desk, could care less about the customer, store or product. The store manager addressed the employees smoking at the entrance and told them to smoke next to the propane tanks.

This store is gross. The restrooms have build up hand prints on the doors. The employees are always smoking up front

Only one check were going in and she had a customer that had food stamp checks and she didnt know how to do them at first and took forever and the baggere and screwing around and not having all that stuff back from that previous customer she had like 5 different orders and it was all sitting waiting and when she got done they started begging making us wait longer

I decided I would try Smith one more time. I have yet to buy my weekly groceries without having to go stand in the service line and get a refund for mispriced and bad charges. Disappointed but not surprised

PRICES JACKED UP!!! This Smiths charges more for almost everything. I normally shop at one of 3 locations just north of the area and this one has higher prices. I wont be back and would not recommend it to anyone else.
