Always so good to my dog

The past few days had been so hard as we found out our family dog was going to pass away at any moment. We had everything set up to have her put down at 2pm yesterday and just before paying for the services, she passed on on her own. Went in to buy a burial box from these people, and after waiting for 10 minutes for someone to put it together.. it was good to go, however, they handed me a clipboard and pen to create a damn account. How can I create an account at a vet office without a dog! I was so drained and heartbroken and I had to stand there and create an account to buy a burial box! Completely unnecessary. They need to change that. Whether its their system or their way to get peoples information, it needs to be changed. If youre gonna offer burial boxes to the public, dont require an account!

A very good doctor who listens and discusses ( Dr. Luellan or something like that) and one other who does not. It is hit and miss but overall very good.

My dogs Pacha, Poe and now even Pele go here and the care has always been great. We live in Herriman and choose to go here because we ve never had a bad experience since 2018.

Been taking my dogs here for vet services and boarding. This is by far the worst visit I have ever had at a vet. Chad Schows only concern was how much he could charge me. I told him that I couldnt afford extras right now. So the first time they brought me an estimate it was over $900. I took things off it to take it down to under $400. He came back and said I needed all these things. I said there is some things other vets I have seen here have recommended over the counter. He said they dont work. They came back with another estimate of $700. I again asked them to take things off. Finally my bill was where I needed it. But they sent me off with a over thousand dollar teeth cleaning estimate with it. My appointment was to come in for an ear infection only. I didnt know I was coming in for a sales pitch. Chad should take concern into the pets and what the owner brings them in for. Instead of trying to upsell them. I may be changing clinics. I put two stars because between Chad and the assistant. The only one not forcing me to get things I didnt bet was the assistant. She was very sweet with my dog. Chad had nothing to do with my dog. He didnt come near her.

Everyone here is so caring and attentive. I was nervous after having a bad experience with a previous vet, but they patiently explained everything and were so kind to my boy.

Boarded our dogs, got their vaccines, and had their exams there. We highly recommend. Great staff and fantastic care for the puppers.

Very attentive staff, love Dr Payne! My dog was very comfortable there even when we dropped her off. They take great care to help your pet feel calm and deal with anxious pets well. Update 4/2024 just had my dog spayed. Got lots of updates while she was there, and check-ins after we took her home. Dr Payne did an excellent job as always.

I had a 10:00 a.m. appointment. I showed up 20 minutes early, and managed not to have our cat seen until almost 20 minutes after appointment time. The cost was extreme to say the least.

Even though our news wasn t good. We were given options. Came here as a second opinion and they gave us a thorough exam. Offered some options when we couldn t do an expensive surgery on our old, blind, arthritic dog. Their quote was similar for the surgery, which I still feel is very expensive. But I guess we haven t needed more than spay and neutering for awhile.

The people there truly care about your animals and their health and are there for any concerns you have and will answer all of your questions it was a great experience overall

Brought in my 4 yr. old Yorkie for a cleaning and they ended up killing my dog. They gave me no reason, I m still going through the heartbreak and emptiness of losing my dog unexplained. I had taken him to another vet for his yearly check up just a month and a half prior to scheduling his cleaning and everything came back fine, he was up-to-date in all his shots and perfect health, even in the winter we would make time to exercise him, we loved him and was important to my family .At this point no words can console my family and myself for our lost. I just hope my review helps others

I booked an emergency visit for my cat who was crying when walking, $200 later I was told it was a probable muscle tear, and to come back for a follow up if he wasn t better in 3 days. I booked the follow up as he wasn t any better, $70 for the follow up visit, $400 for X-rays, $100 to read the X-ray for a total of $800. The fact that they charge you $100 to read a $400 X-ray should be a clear indication of the amount of care for animal welfare these people have. The $70 visit 3 days later doesn t even give you an X-ray reading. Also they didn t want me to see the Vet to show the video of my cat crying in pain or to show where he was hurting. God forbid they waste an extra minute of the time they could use cashing in on the next customer. I walked away to find a vet less greedy.

My brother took his cat into get spayed, chipped, and her shots. They did some other stuff as well. However, he ended up spending about $1,000 dollars. So price wise, it was way too expensive for me. I would have just gone to the West Jordan animal shelter and saved $750 dollars. The staff was great, and the vet was very knowledgeable.

This place is great, took my dog there for an emergency physical exam and past few years for exams and a surgery, they were very professional, kind, and attentive to my pets needs and mine.

Alex did an amazing job setting my dog up with boarding and helping answer all the questions! Came back a few days later and got Lucy the most adorable haircut from Amanda! The team here is incredible and look forward to future experiences!

I love this place!!! They were super nice! I took my cat in and we re really nice and saw how scared he was and took me to a room when I got there so it can be quiet and relaxing for him. Not to mention that Dr. vass was really nice and quick to give him the shots. I rate this place 100/10 because they are amazing!

The staff are very kind and helpful. The only thing that bugs me is that on their website they offer $20 off a first exam for new patients. I saw the offer about 10 minutes after I got home from a new patient exam so I called to ask if they would still give me the discount. They would not. I asked why they didnt tell me about the offer while I was standing in the office and they said they dont tell people about it. This would be an easy customer service fix that would create a lot of goodwill. Vet exams are expensive, so even $20 off would have been nice.

Friendly staff and a great place to board you dogs.

My family and I had to bring our elderly cat in to have him put to sleep. We had waited as long as he could wait hoping hed live longer but he was starting to suffer. The staff at the VCA Amor Animal Hospital was so incredibly kind to us and our cat. They comforted us and helped us to know that as hard as it was to be putting our beloved cat down, that it was the right decision because it was his time to cross over the rainbow bridge to be with God in peace and happiness. They explained everything they were going to do and gave us plenty of time to spend him in his final moments here on Earth. The staff was so good to us in our time of grieving. They prepared a box for him (our Buddy) for us to bring him home in so I could bury him in a special place in our yard. Yesterday my family and I received the sweetest sympathy card in the mail from Dr. Lindsay Butterwick at the VCA sending her sympathies. It was so kind of her to take the time to hand write a message of sympathy to us. I cant think of any companies and their employees that would do that for their customers. My family and I will are so grateful for the great staff at the VCA Amor Animal Hospital! I will continue to use them for all of my other pets needs in the future.

Total disaster. Took my dog here because he was having seizures and they turned me away. He died on the way to another facility. Never again!

Amor never disappoints. ALL the doctors have been so kind to my pets, and are so knowledgeable. The technicians always make me feel like my pets are in the best hands. We go here for all our Veterinary needs! Otto loves yall.

The staff took great care of my dog while he was boarded. He got to run and play every day and they even sent me pics and updates every day. They even gave him a bath as part of his stay. I will definitely use their services again

First, I have to give Amanda, who is the groomer, a huge recommendation. She has been my dogs groomer for over seven years. She is fantastic with all dogs, treats them like her own, and they always look their best selves once she is done with them. I have been a dog owner for 25 plus years, and she is by far the best groomer I have had. Dr. Payne has been my dogs vet, and he has been great. He is informative, empathetic and kind with my dogs. Recently, he had to be in the unfortunate situation of telling me that my beloved pup had aggressive cancer, which meant that the right thing to do for her was let her go. Dr. Payne and the rest of the staff were so kind, caring and empathetic; and help us through a very sudden and tragic situation. Ive taken my dogs to the VCA Amor staff for a long time (even when it was Vesta Cresta) and have recommended them to all friends and family who have pets, and will continue doing so.

We came here today to see my beloved friend of 14 years Zak to his journey on the rainbow bridge. During this time, my beloved friend Treble broke his leg and needed help. Despite being understaffed and suffering the effects of this joke of an economy, the entire staff clearly cared exclusively about Zaks safe passage and Trebles wellbeing. You are all underappreciated heroes and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. May whatever form of Karma there is smile on all of the staff at this establishment.

We made the decision to put her down that day, but the staff was so sweet and professional about taking us through the process. We had our dog spayed today at Amor. Dr David Payne did the surgery and everything went very well. I felt like our Labradoodle received the great care she needed and the entire process went very smoothly. He was professional, knowledgeable, reassuring and helpful in explaining to me what to do with her aftercare. The staff is also great. Definitely five stars!

No way will I ever step foot in this place again. They have no issues taking your money and not following procedures, schedules lack of consistency and communication between staff. I know that they are busy. This is a place for people to heal their animals. I will not be coming back in the future.

I never have complaints about the VCA Amor Hospital, either in person or by phone. Our dog Koda comes here regularly for vaccinations and also for his neuter surgery done here. Everyone is friendly and service tends to be quick or reasonable. Koda is always treated kindly even though he is very timid. The staff really seems to love animals and it makes me more comfortable to depend on them. We also have him boarded here when necessary and we ve never had any issues, but last time he was there we only got one photo and comment about him. He was there a week and a daily photo and check in would have been great.

I have been very impressed with this veterinary clinic. The hours are flexible and it has been easy for me to get an appointment for my pet when needed. The staff is friendly and helpful and the vet has been really great about answering questions and not trying to upsell me on products or services. If I leave a message that I have a question for the vet I usually get a call back that same afternoon.

The receptionist is a beast! I called to see if my senior cat could get an appointment in 2 days since he hasnt been eating. She quickly and loudly interrupting me saying that they are booked for the next 3 weeks, no availability unless I call the day of and get an urgent care appointment at $150. I get youre busy, but why be so rude and insensitive about it. Why would I want to do business with you now anyway?! Going elsewhere!

Dr Payne and Dr B have been snatching with our aging pup. All of the techs are great each week that we are there.

Told me they would do a service and then charged me for it but never did it.

This place was a godsend for my last rescue senior Chihuahua Baby Girl from 13.5-18 years old. Baby girl was extremely traumatized from severe abuse and neglect before we rescued her. So it was so hard on her to be away from us for more than a few minutes and this place was the only one that she always was just as happy when she was done and it never took more than a few minutes for glands and nails anytime. They treated her like she was as precious and fragile as a child and she wasnt scared when I got her back like all of the other places we tried. It takes a very special team of people to SUCCESSFULLY work with and care for abused and traumatized animals. These people are wonderful at what they do. Ill always use them for my animals.

The doctors here are extremely friendly and they take great care of our pets. Huge shout out to Dr. Butterwick, shes amazing and knows her stuff!

I needed a place to board my cat quickly and Amor took him in and has been so good to him. They updated his vaccinations and checked on his eye. I didnt worry at all while he was there. I would definitely recommend this facility.

Understaffed, unfortunately.

lovely people who love advocating for unnecessary procedures. strongly recommended i spend around $400 for anesthesia and getting a broken nail clipped. the broken nail fell off the next day. i asked the dr why he recommended clipping a dead nail that was just going to fall off anyway and he told me he completely removed the nail during the procedure, which was weird because he didnt and didnt tell me he was going to. two stars for nice staff, but thats how they get you. UPDATE: As they do with all less than favorable reviews, the owner asked me to email them regarding this matter. I did and they have never responded. Apparently its a tactic of terrible business owners to look good to ask reviewers to contact them for resolution, but they dont actually have any intention of following up. What I thought was a bad experience due to some extenuating circumstance has actually turned out to be just bad business from the top down. I will have to drop my review from a 2 to a 1 accordingly.

If you care about your pet please go elsewhere, a nightmare of a vet hospital. Can t post this without giving it at least a one start review. Everyone looked dumbfounded and didn t know how to answer the simplest of questions, very frustrating. I heard sorry so many times during the visit, had to go somewhere. A waste of money and time. Even if they answer to this review it s more empty apologies. Actions speak louder than words.

My brother had to put his kitty cat and best friend of 15 years down they were amazing and made this heart breaking thing a little easier. And my brother lost 2 $100 bills in the cushion where we were setting and about 10 minutes after we left they called and said they found the money and will hold it for us.. Thank you for your honesty and the care you showed us in this hard time

I received a pleasant phone call from Sydney today to follow up with me regarding the treatment I received that day. She listened to me and my concerns. I can go on to explain why I left that bad review but errors happen in all businesses and errors can be corrected. I look forward to continue working with them for the treatment of my two puppies. Old dogs but puppies at heart.

These guys were so great! They were able to see us as a walk in when my brothers pup had an abscess pop up out of nowhere! They were very gentle and upfront about treatment and costs, we will definitely be returning for the excellent care that they provide for our pets!

My mom takes her dogs here for all their vet and grooming needs and she loves it. Her miniature terrier turned out real cute!

We were so excited to be referred here by another VCA clinic where our dog regularly goes for his vet care. We have a 110 pound German Shepherd and I asked for recommendations for boarding / daycare. They told us they would recommend here as they had kennels our dog would be comfortable in being he is a big dog. Amor is on my way to work and I took him here for daycare a couple times, everything seemed to go well.I was looking forward to using daycare regularly as I return to the office from COVID. This weekend was my birthday weekend, we decided to go on a short vacation and booked our dog to be boarded here. When I made the reservation on the phone I was asked if we wanted him to have a bath before he went home, I said yes. We were promised text updates, I received them while he was in daycare. Day one ..no updates. I called next day and was given an honest update, I know my dog is very anxious and appreciated them letting me know he was having a hard day. We decided to end our trip a bit earlier and made arrangements so we could be home to pick him up by closing time at 3pm to avoid him staying there all day Sunday when they are closed. I specifically told the gentlemen that answered the phone we were going to plan to pick him up Saturday at 2pm. He said no problem he would let kennel attendants know. Shortly after my call we did get a text update as well as one Saturday. We picked up our dog a little after 2pm Saturday. When he got in the car he smelled of stale urine super bad. To the point it almost made our eyes water. Keeping in mind I am in nursing and have worked several nursing homes in my 20 year career and know the smell very well. His harness was also ripped that we had just got about a week ago. Came home, I got our 110 pound dog in the bath tub (which we were told would happen before he came home). The water in the tub was YELLOW MURKY as the urine came rinsing down him off his fur. He has NEVER been this gross coming home from any other day camp / boarding facility. It completely ruined my birthday weekend knowing my dog was in this condition. My husband called to ask about the smell and inquired if another dog had gotten to him because his harness was ripped. He was met with defensive staff that argued that the smell and ripped harness would have happened either before we dropped him off of after we picked him up. Im sorry but our dog is one of our kids, we know the condition his harness was in and we know he doesnt pee on himself at home as he is fully potty trained. We arent mad about the harness, even him smelling like urine. We get it, hes a dog that was boarded for a couple days but a heads up would have been nice. When we asked why he didnt get a bath more defensive comments even accused us of not letting them know we were coming early even though we had called the day before and texted a reply to the update we had gotten earlier that we would be there at 2pm. Then we were told to qualify to even have a dog bathed he would have needed to stay 3 nights. That could have been said when we arranged for him to have a bath or even when we said we were coming to pick him up early. I didnt know there was a 3 day rule? Grooming is advertised. Hands down never bringing our dog here ever again. When we called our normal VCA vet to let them know not to recommend this location they agreed and suggested Camp Bow Wow. Ugh. I just wanted a decent place I can depend on and trust obviously this was a poor choice. Im sorry for my dog that this happened to him. We got a vacation, he got neglected, with rude staff.

The groomer did a fabulous job on my dog. 5 stars over all experience 3 stars

CIi still have nightmares ofhow my dog was put down. When he was wide awake, the fatal shot was given him. My other dog was first given something to relax him.

I always go here for my dogs grooming but lately the service hasn t been too good lately. I took my dog to get groomed on wednesday and my dog came back with patches of red on her neck and a cut on her paw, and i got charged $97 for it when the service is usually around $60.

i take both my dogs here for grooming and we see stacy blauwkamp and love love love her! my small dog is anxious and timid and does so well with her every time. she always knows exactly how to freshen them up when i bring them to see her too. i will not go to anyone else :)

This hospital always does such a good job with my dog Flurry. It s so nice having a place we can rely on. We love Amanda who does his grooming. 5 stars!

Absolutely the worst in the Valley! They had curbside check in and responded immediately asking what my dog was being seen for Today? After an Hour and 15 minutes I text to see how long till we were going to be seen and they responded that they were not taking any more walk ins today. Unbelievable a dog in pain sitting in a car for that long and they couldnt tell us that on arrival very unprofessional never do business here.

They were fantastic. It was my first visit but definitely not my last. The groomer did an amazing job on my cat. The vet was responsive and honest. Very happy I was recommended to go here. Thanks to everyone there.

I had to put my dog down (Candy) because she was sick and old. It was a very painful process to go through but the doctor that helped us was so professional, he explained everything clearly about the procedure and told us how candy was ready to go to the other side. The staff were also nice and helpful with everything. I highly recommend this place, thank you so much!

for any of my friends and family that have animals, please avoid VCA Amour Animal Hospital in west jordan at all costs. my cousin had to put her dog down and ended up going to VCA Amour Animal Hospital and they did a group cremation of her dog when she paid to have a single cremation done. they brushed her off and told her to call back tomorrow when a manager was there. this is disgusting and no way to treat someone who just lost their baby of 18 years. not to mention they messed up his paw print as well.

My cousin recently came here to have her baby of 18 years put down and was treated so terribly. The paperwork she filled out advised it would be a single cremation with a colored paw print plate. She received the plate that was not colored as she paid for, she was advised it would be a little bit longer for the cremation and ashes to be ready. Waiting weeks and wondering what was going on, she reached out to find out her worst nightmare came true. Her baby was in a group cremation and none of her requests were followed. The staff was completely rude and disrespectful. They offered no remorse or sympathy for THEIR mistake and instead made her feel like she had did something wrong. There is no way to rectify this situation but the staff needs to take ownership and accountability. Absolutely disturbing and I highly recommend going anywhere besides Amor Animal Hospital in West Jordan, UT.

Great Doctor and staff

I started going to this place a few years ago. The staff and Vets were all professional and freindly. But now it seems like all the good Vets have left this office. I dont know if this place was bought out or what.There is one other Vet that I might try in this office, if he doesnt work out I may have to go elsewhere.

On August of 2019 I had an emergency and had to take in my dog for surgery. The staff here was able to not only help me out but also gave me info on how I could apply for CareCredit so I can pay for the unexpected surgery. Everything they did was great, other than one thing that I will never ever forget. When I took my dog in Dr. Carlos Clavijo came in and he assessed my dog, and we spoke about the situation. I let him know that my two dogs got into a fight and my girl got hurt pretty bad. I let him know its been happening more often but it never escalates to where either get hurt, so this was a first. I also let the doctor know that Ive had both my dogs since pups, and they have grown up together and they always got along very well, never any issues. The doctor immediately tells me, you need to get rid of one of the dogs because this WILL happen again and more than likely it will be much worse. It is very disconcerting knowing that the first thing the doctor recommends is rehoming, this should be the last option. I feel the doctor should have recommended a better way to get the dogs to get along with each other, or maybe pointed me to some resources. I myself started working more on better training and figuring out what triggers the jealousy between my dogs, and removing that from the environment. My dogs are now doing a lot better but still needs more work. I will never recommend Dr. Carlos Clavijo although the rest of the staff was great. Thanks again for helping my little girl get back to her full healthy self

Ive been taking my dogs here for the last 15 years Ive used this Animal Hospital & Clinic because it is always professional. It has always been a great experience and always has been. They care for your animals as much as you do!!

Have taken all of my dogs to Amor. I have always had a great experience. Kind, caring, and competent staff. Would highly recommend them to anyone!

The doctors here have always been super friendly and helpful. In an emergency they were able to get us in with no appointment. The staff is always cheerful and friendly. I think they have reasonable rates for their services. My only suggestion would be to keep the hours more consistent day to day, and stay open later for daycare pickup to make it more conducive to full time workers like me and my wife who have a hard time getting there by 5:00 on weekdays.

They were able to get my puppy in when I needed it done. They were so friendly and they looked like they were happy to be working with animals.

Very happy with the care our dog Alize has received here. The doctors and staff are friendly and caring. My only problem was confusing and mixed messages with payment however, they did get it corrected and they were generous within their limits. I would happily recommend them to any pet owner.

I came here last minute and the staff here were very attentive and helpful. Although they were completely booked they still found room for my puppy Zeus that same day. They were gentle with him, and have some great puppy packages available. Compared to where I took my other puppy to, this animal hospital is A LOT cheaper. Im saving almost 200$ coming here than going to another vet clinic. The packages also come with things like sample collectors so you are ready to send things into their labs to be analyzed when you go to your puppys next checkup. They also looked into some of my concerns free of charge and were very understanding and attentive to even the smallest of worries. My other vet said my other puppy was fine when she had refused to eat for 2 weeks! She wasnt, and I ended up finding a way to help her myself. This clinic is much better and much more alert to any worries you have. I reccomend this hospital to any pet owners, especiallys those who are on a budget.

My vet was closed today and my poor dog had super swollen goopy eyes. So my cousin referred me to this place and told me they do walk-in appointments. I called in the morning to confirm and the rep confirmed that they do and told me to come between 12-3. I arrived at 1 at stall 5, called the number gave the rep my information and my pups information. I waited two hours before calling them and they told me they didnt have my information and that they wouldnt be able to help my dog. She kept telling me i must have called a different vet and wasnt willing to help me. Absolutely disrespectful reps and poor management. I will not ever go to this vet again.

Dr. Scow is so kind and very informative. He never suggests unnecessary testing. All of the staff at Amor are helpful and kind. They take wonderful care of our pets!

I take my little Shi Tzus, and one other small mix to have them groomed there. Brooke their groomer is awesome. She has taken care of making my wiggle puppy and made her into a gorgeous little girl. The same with the others. She is Gentle, Kind, Caring, and full of Love for each animal she grooms!!!

They are always wonderful with my fur baby, and always willing to a answer my million questions.

I thought Amor was a great place with great employees but I don t agree with VCA s current policies that you can t go in with your pet for their appointment. Our state is nearly in the green with groups up to 50 and there is no reason I should wait in the car while they take my dog in. I will find a locally owned vet.

I cannot thank the staff at VCA Amor Animal Hospital enough. They were kind, caring, supportive and just wonderful all around on what was one of the worst days of our family s life. We had to make the hard decision to euthanize our sweet Corgi, Maxx and the staff made sure we had everything we needed, let us spend time with him and were so compassionate. Even in going to pick up his ashes today, I was treated exactly the same way. Thank you, to all of the staff that helped us. You re all wonderful.!

I arrived on time for my appointment and was told that a technician would be out soon. After 20 min of waiting I called them back and was told that it would still be another 10 min before a technician would be out to get my dog. This place is very unprofessional, what is the point of having an appointment time if you re going to overbook your customers. I would not recommend doing business here.

Terrible service we had our dog ready for surgery. We had an appointment and waited over two months only to show up that day and find out they had rescheduled us for a few days later hace use they re surgery doctor went on vacation. Also instead of owning the mistake they blamed us and said they confirmed with us. Call me crazy but I think I would know if I talked to you also no confirmation text was sent to us. Call me crazy but if you can t get an appointment right I can t trust you to get the surgery done correctly. Terrible experience we also got attitude from the costumer service receptionist we simply said thanks we ll go somewhere else.

3years of taking 300+ pounds of dog, 1 cat and 2 other pets to amor and today they blew it. We will never be returning again. Our dog had a skin tag a year ago which fell off on its own a week after the visit but we had it inspected by amor, insurance would not renew our dog due to that report from amor...no big deal, 1 year later... we took him back so they could take a quick peek at his chest and verify the skin growth on his chest was no longer present( we got charged a full visit for this even though our 200lb Mastiff was there for another issue). They refused to supply such information that he had no growth on his chest even though it is very clearly not there, just happy fur on a healthy and fit dog.. Gus will be going to a new vet. I also took our other dog Cato there during this same appointment, we have been working thru his issue just fine, other than Cato needs to be fixed.... They have quoted us over $2000 for this procedure which is nearly 4 TIMES the amount of other vets in the area. After the service last time being sub par and this time the service being downright bad we had honestly been in somewhat of awe at such poor service to us and our animals from a place of business that we had held in such high regard and refered so many others too. * Insert deer in headlights expression* when their service is good, its good, when its bad, its VERY bad. Just in our case, I do not have time nor the patience for VERY bad service.... ever ...when it comes to my pets.. we spend large sums of money to keep them safe, happy and healthy. Maybe its a business side effect of the covid-19 pandemic and a strain in their ability to be as good as they can, who knows...but I would not have a second rate medical professional give me medical advice for my own body and our pets depend on us to make decisions to find the right people to do so on their behalf. Unfortunately amor has lost our future business. These are factual statements with no biased terms of events and I hope Amor uses this as a learning opportunity rather than to find an excuse to take a defensive stance on this matter.

Useless! Called for help for a rabbit that was mauled by a dog and was told the rabbit vet was out for a week. So sorry...try somewhere else. How hard is it for another vet to euthanize a rabbit to end its suffering instead of it taking hours to die?

I had concerns about adopting some gerbils. I called VCA and the man who helped me was kind and knowledgeable and took the time I needed to have my concerns addressed!

Every time I have tried to get my dog in for an emergency. They cant see her for 3 weeks. The first time this happened my dog couldnt walk for the past 2 days and they wouldnt see her. Went to cottonwood animal clinic and they were very kind. Today 12-28-20, I tried to get my other dog in because she wont eat and is very lethargic they wouldnt even get her in on an emergency basis in the next day or 2. I feel the front desk has no compassion. They dont even ask what is going on. Just told to check with an ER vet or they could see her in 3 weeks!!!!

Their prices arent terrible, I could see them being an ok routine vet, but in the case of urgency I wouldnt take my pets here again. I took my cat in due to what I thought was a UTI, they did blood work and a urinalysis, and told me she might have diabetes. No one told me how much any of this was going to be until I got to the payment portion, and I had called for an update and didnt get one until I made my payment and asked. The next day the results came back, everything was fine so now I was confused because I knew my cat was sick, so I call the following day because some new issues arose and thats when I was told she had crystals in her bladder. It was an incredibly casual conversation, and I was just told to change her diet. I wasnt given anything or given any suggestions for immediate help. She has worsen since. Now Im $600 in this endeavor because went to another vet and paid for everything again.

Called in and booked an appointment, was called back 20 min. Later being told they had double booked. Checked in as a walk in a few days later and was told there would be 45min. - 1 hour wait, 5 min later was told they could no longer see my cat. Amor is still open for an hour and a half. The receptionist gives the feeling she simply doesnt want to do her job

We have been bringing our dogs to Amor for several years now. They provide our fur babies with the utmost love and care. I highly recommend their boarding services, our dogs love going there when we go on vacation, so much so, they don t want to leave!

I had a free first visit coupon but it was not honored because I did a walk in appointment. They told me before hand the walk-in would cost $20 extra, but then they would not honor the coupon because they said it was by appointment only and the visit cost me $73.00. Nowhere on the coupon did it specify appointment only. I dont like bait and switch operations and will be taking my dog elsewhere. The vet on the other hand was amazing with my dog.

I have taken my dogs to Amor for about 14-15 years. I have used all their services-boarding, grooming, and veterinary services. They have been kind and caring. Many of the people at Amor know Louie and treat him kindly. I am happy to know that when he is there he is well cared for. Thanks for all you do for the animals in your care.

INSANE PRICING! We took our cat and dog to be fixed to Amor and when we my wife picked them up, it was $850.00 plus in charges!!!! After researching the itemized receipt line by line, we realized things were double charged/inflated in comparison to what other area vets charged/included in the Spay procedure. We are contesting now...... We will for sure update this posting on the outcome!

Weve used Amor only a few times and have been satisfied. The vets are knowledgeable and kind. Emergency visits without an appointment take awhile to get in, but its expected being they are a busy office.

These guys Fantastic I took my Sugar glider there to get her nails trimmed. You dont need an appointment to get their nails trim every inexpensive the staff was very Friendly I was worried that it would cost alot. They are the only ones that I know of that see Sugar Gliders I will Definitely be going back!!!!!!

I ve taken my dogs to Amor for about 10 years. I really liked their services, Vets and reasonable prices. About 3 months ago I took my Yorker in for grooming. I had him groomed there a couple of times before and they did a very good job. This time he wasn t even cut at all. I told them I wanted his chest shaved, that s all they did beside bath him. Duh! After I got home and took a closer look at him, I called and complained. I told them he haven t been groomed at all. After I got the run around, the Vet called me back and told me to bring him back in on Monday to redo his grooming. What a joke! The new groomer ask me what I wanted done, I said groom him, cut his nails. They wanted me to go into detail which I ve never had to do anywhere, anytime with all my dogs over the last 35-45 years. The other new groomer came out and continue to ask in detail what I wanted. She even showed me pictures on her phone. I was angry and ask them why I had to tell them how to do their job. I agreed on a photo that was a lamb cut. When I came to pick him up he still looked crummy with uneven hair everywhere. Obviously both these groomers had very little experience or training. I decided that would be last time I d take him there to be groomed. About a month ago, I called to get his shots and they told me they couldn t do that without a Vet doing a check up. A $173.00 later, because I agree on a test for heart worm and medication plus the 2 shots The meds for heart worm were for 6 months only, they use to sell 12 months. They said it was an important to get the meds because mosquitoes were now spreading heart worm. The test and meds were about $106.00. At that time I made an appointment for a teeth cleaning that I had done there last year for about $430.00. This time I had to pay $831.00. Almost double from the year before. They claimed they removed 8 teeth. They charged me for pain meds, antibiotics and another pill. I just thought it was ridiculous and I just don t trust them any more. They have changed Vets, added (VCA) to Amor Animal Hospital name and their prices have doubled. I don t know what s going on but I can t afford to take my dog there anymore and I m really disappointed with their high charges and Vet changes. I will be shopping for a new Vet that isn t so expensive. Too bad!!!

My regular vet wasnt able to see me when I got a foxtail embedded in my paw. Amor was able to take me as a walk in. I didnt even have to wait that long. Dr. Chad Schow fixed me right up and got me back home. Even have my mom a specimen tube full of foxtails they found.

I have been coming to Amor for years over 25 or so,, they used to be good when Corey Nebeker DVM was in charge. The treatment I received with my cat and the surgery that was done for stones in the bladder caused a lot of unneeded suffering for my cat. They treated the situation as a routine service issue instead of the emergency it was. Due to the lack of concern and care after the surgical service, my cat ended up with still having stones and also suffering more than he should have due to the numerous calls I made to them were not addressed as urgent care situations. Due to the lack of concern and inability to treat me and my cat correctly I had to put him down to stop the unnecessary pain and suffering. They did not cause the stones in his bladder but did not treat them as they should have and did cause additional suffering that was not needed. I feel this facility is only in it for the money not the good of the animal. This surgery should not have been done in the first place. I will not ever take my animals here again.

Took my dog here due to she was sick and having issues, they took labs and her liver number was high. They wanted to ultrasound her stomach and see if they can see anything but when i brought her back in they said she had stuff in her stomach still. I did everything they told me and they wanted to do it again and also do a liver panal. I asked if i would be charged for another one and if i get the liver panal, will i know what is causing all this. The Doc told me i wouldnt be changed and yes i would know. Well i was charged and still didnt find out what was going on with her. For the most part, the place was good but they need to work on keeping there word.

I have been going to Amor for over 25 years and they were good before the original owner retired their ethics have changed. They are not a place I would have any surgeries done or take my furry baby to. If you have any complications with it they will not be available and are not interested in your pet only the money. My cat had kidney and bladder stones, surgery was done, however the vet did not review the kidneys prior to doing the bladder surgery and even after surgery he ended up with a blockage. My poor kitty went through so much pain that week that he did not have to, had they been thoro in the first place. The pain meds were given but never told to refrigerate or even put on the bottle, so poor thing had to go through pain unecessarily. I called everyday sometimes twice a day with my concerns and after the 3rd day they finally told me he needed to see by the vet but to wait till Monday because they were too busy on this Saturday. This was an emergency due to their neglegence but could not be bothered. I ended up at another facility an ER on Sunday with this poor cat with a major blockage and he passed away that Sunday, I even called the original vet on that Sunday as well and the staff was unconcerned or unwilling to assist me in my decissions or even try to contact the Vet. When I spoke to the vet who did the surgery the next day he did confirm he did not look at the kidneys when he did the xray or surgery. When I originally took him I did let them know before any tests or surgery was done the father and sister of this cat had passed due to kidney failure this runs in this family and I did not want to put him through anything like this if there were any kidney issues. He ended up having kidney issues and went through the last week in pain instead of being given all the facts and any consideration to the animal and what was best, they are all about the money not the well being of the animal. DO NOT USE AMOR THEY ARE TERRIBLE AND UNCARING.

I have gone to Amor for years, never had any issues. Until a few days ago whrn I took my Boxer there. She had blood in her stool, I called them to see if they had any openings. I was told they have walk ins from 2:00-5:00pm, I told them Ok I will be there around 3:00. I didnt mind the 1 hour wait, what I did and still do mind is the vet spent a whole 5 min with me and my dog, no testing, I go up to the counter to check out thinking maybe with meds 100.00. Thats where I received my bill for almost 500.00, I asked at the time why so much was told it was for the medication. They called in back and they where able to knock it down by about 50.00 by giving the generic medication. I pay get home look over receipt 90.00 for an emergency visit, I was never informed this would be considered an emergency visit, I was only told that they take walk ins from 2-5:00pm 67.45 for a 16lbs bag of dog food they never gave me. 276.00 for a medication that my dog did not need since the other medication that was only 14.00 was basically the same thing, I verified this with another Veterinarian. I also verified with this other Veterinarian that I would have been charged about 64.00 total had I gone to them 50.00 for visit 14.00 for medication. When I called they offered to refund me for the food they did not give me but thats it. This is now the worst Animal hospital in the Salt Lake Valley. They are only about there profits and scamming people out of there money for things there animals dont need, and not a single person there cares that they are taking advantage of people thst love there animals. If you dont beleive me just look at there reviews majority of good reviews are obviously fake, and most of the bad are for the same issue I have or worse. Do not take your animals here or any other VCA owned animal hospital, obviously this is VCAs business model so I am sure all the rest are the same. This used to be such a good Veterinarian, now they are the worst.

Amor has been our go to for pet boarding. The staff is exceptionally friendly to both people and pets. When we bring our dog in, they seem to be happy to see the dog, and the dog, though a little skittish, always seems to adjust quickly. We are very happy with Amor.

Just an overall terrible experience. Im not going to go into details because its 100 pages long. Short story. *The Vet administered a chemical he shouldnt have. *The Vet came out in the waiting room and the first thing he said was bad news in front of everybody. *Told us to go the the emergency room immediately. I thought my puppy was going to die in the back seat. *The emergency room told us there was no real emergency and the results werent alarming. Weve switched vets and will never go back.

Took our dog to this vet because of a bump on his nose. We were told it was not ringworm and was given meds for a skin condition and told to come back in 2 weeks if it did not go away. Mind you there were no tests done at all and we were told they would have to take a biopsy to confirm the cause. they charged us 150$ and sent us on our way. they were very cold and just did not treat our little one very good. we went to another vet and they said it is either mites or ringworm. they tested for mites and it came back negative and preformed a free black light test and confirmed it was ringworm. when we mentioned the amor vet wanted to do a biopsy they laughed and said that was ridiculous since testing for it is as simple as shining a black light in a dark room.... the 2nd visit only cost 85$ including the topical solution to treat the ringworm. we will never take any animal to this vet ever again.

They got us in right away for an emergency and knew right away what was wrong. They were great!

We have been with Cory Nebeker for over 15 years, and would never think of going to anyone else. We are so appreciative to have someone we know we can trust with our pets. We will no longer go back to Amor, when we called to make an appointment we were told Cory had taken some personal time. We asked when he would get back and they said they didnt know. Come to find out that he was no longer with them, if they would lie about that, how can I trust them to be honest about my pet. We will never go back or recommend them again.

These guys are seriously amazing. I have taken my dog and cats here for years. For everything from shots to surgery, they always do a great job. I feel the prices are great and they are upfront about it. The staff is always so friendly and so helpful. I also love that they call the next day to check on how your fur baby is doing. I recommend them to everyone.

My rabbit got sick so I called in late Friday afternoon to see if they accept walk-in appointments, which they do. The staff were all so kind and helpful. Our Veterinarian was very knowledgeable about rabbits and provided awesome care. The visit was affordable and they genuinely care about the well being of your pets. They provided a very stress relieving experience in a stressful situation.

Always liked Amor Animal Hospital. I felt like they actually care for my pets well being and treat me fairly. Theyve taken care of my cat Harley for years. Hes 23 and still kicking strong. They have definitely had a part in that. I go to get sub cutaneous fluids every few weeks and its no hassle, in and out service. If I ever need to take one of my cats in, its simple, easy, and they try their best at making the cats feel comfortable, as we all know thats a difficult task! Friendly faces and warm hearts are the words I would use to describe the people that work here. Ive been taking my highly sensitive dog here for care for several years. Theyre always very patient with her and have helped me dial in her anxiety meds which has helped my baby feel happier on a daily basis.

Took my bunny Pixie there to be spayed and the entire staff was wonderful. Everyone there seemed very knowledgeable and helped me with caring for my little girl post surgery. I will never go anywhere else with my four legged kids.

I absolutely love this place! It is clean and does not have your typical vet clinic smell. I love that they are a exotic pet veterinarian. I needed my rabbits teeth trimmed that day and they got me in same day and took care of my baby. They were quick. They are about average cost. It cost $25 for rabbit teeth trimming.

Big mistakes with this vet. At different times throughout the past 12mos. I called to pick up one of the 2 remaining remaining insulin refills left on my current script for my cat. They told I couldnt get anymore until I brought my cat in for a check up. They could have let me know when I picked it up the previous month. Instead they gave me 3 addtl refills. In order to get the refills I was forced to bring in my cat the next morning for a checkup. Otherwise he wouldnt get his insulin injections. Missed doses at his stage of diabetes have only one ending, death. Complete negligence and disregard for my animal. This isnt Oxycontin, folks. How about give one refill and give me time to get my pet in. If I fail to sch the appt, then thats my bad. I paid for your error. Total bs. I had to reschedule meetings, miss work and my cat still missed two doses.

Dr. Schow is amazing our whole family has been going there since weve had dogs. Weve been thru thick and thin and they are simply the best. They care about every family and every situation as if it was their own.

We had to put our old doggy down and it was the hardest thing! The vet techs at amor were so gentle and understanding. The really respected what we were going through. They gave us lots of time to say goodbye and we didnt feel rushed or uncomfortable at all.

I like the larger space for Smores to board. He seems well cared for when when we pick him up. The staff is very supportive and friendly even when we visit our sons dog when he is being boarded there.
